Nice property, very good breakfast.
Room could have been bigger but thats typical European.
Clean though. Could use an elevator as not to lugg the bags up the stairs. Although there’s someone to help.
Great looking pool… but cold !! Not heated. Disappointing.
The property is a bit outlying from the city in Salzburg and a GPS is an absolute must since the inner city is where most things to see and do is.
Found a great ( plus a few others) restaurant named “ Goldener Hirsch” down in the inner city. Very good. Also don’t miss the Sacher Hotel in the same area for some delicious Torten and Pastries and coffee. This is the original place to sample the Sacher Torte. Of course you can stay there too.
JUST BRING MONEY….First class place.
Suggest taking a taxi from the hotel since driving there and finding parking can be a little challenging. And then you have to walk a bit. Taxi is door to door. Salzburg is a nice town though.

Beautiful property! Wonderful customer service. Breakfast was fantastic. As an American traveler it was a little rough because of no AC in the rooms but seemed to be cooler in the hotel itself. But we brought fans and that helped a lot. Would stay there again. You can’t beat the views!

This hotel is one of the nicest places, well organized, is very quiet, and it's location on the hillside located southeast of Salzburg is just about perfect, and it's only an 11 minute drive to get downtown. The breakfast is one of the best one's I've had traveling, and the staff area all friendly and very helpful, including Corina (or Catarina -?spelling), Natalie and her fellow worker at the restaurant, and Eva who is from Hungary, and did a superb performance preparing the included breakfast. The view is simply WONDERFUl, and the distant city, mountains, valley, clouds, and snow on the mountaintops... this is why we came to Salzburg and the Austrian Alps... and we were so delighted. We will indeed stay here again soon. jw

Beautiful setting, gorgeous view of the city and natural landscape, great breakfast, modern room. Excellent facilities and I would recommend it. I Did not give it a 5 star primarily because of the lack of soundproof walls and presence of smoking fumes around property which came into the room . I could hear everything that went on both rooms next to me as it they were inside my room until late at night. And although the hotel room was non-smoking, I open the door to the balcony hoping to take in fresh air but instead strong smoking fumes came into the room from the smoking neighbors (along with the noise of the neighbor talking loudly on the phone late at night). I had to keep off the balcony which was unfortunate given the beautiful view. This was disappointing. But otherwise I would recommend the hotel for the setting and view.

Property is in beautiful location with a view to die for, room was clean and bed comfortable. Might be hard to reach property as it is remote and requirement to check on by 9 pm therefore afterwards to return to town it is too far or too pricey. Dosappointed as advert was with a pool which os not availabe du to season- beginung oct though the weather was beautiful. In description this was not stated and that was the only reason we chose thos hotel. No hot tube or sauna availabe too though ot was mention.aa it was tuesday night we stayed in the restaurant was closed, which is ok but in the rooms there was no kettle nor option for tea or coffee- after traveling 32 hr we really wanted a hot drink. It was my child's birthday - no special treat was there too, which would be lovely as a bit of attention as booking was made much in advance. For breakfast no hot sausage or bacon available too. Views beautifu, good for families traveling with car, but as a traveller would not stay again.

Charming Stay

This B&B is a 300-year-old farmhouse on top of a hill that was converted into a B&B. It's got great ambiance and lots of character, and the breakfast was wonderful. Check in and check out was fast and easy and the caretakers were pleasant. There are three floors and no elevators. The rooms are basic, but charming. The bathroom was small, and the hot water took a long time to make its way up to the 3rd floor. The views were magnificent.

The hotel is out of town in a nice, quiet area up on a hill with a lovely view of Salzburg. The breakfast was great and the rooms were comfortable with updated decor. The gal at the front desk was able to call and get us a Sound of Music Tour that I wasn't able to book from my phone the day of which meant a lot to me. She was so friendly and helpful.

I recommend doing research before coming here. If you do not have a car, it will be hard for you to travel up to the hotel, if you do not like to walk. The restaurant is not open everyday. The spa was closed when we were there. The view is amazing and it’s quiet. It’s an old style hotel and it has a lot of history. If you are used to 5 star hotels like the Ritz, don’t come here.

The property is overlooking Salzburg, which is nice. The staff is not very hospitable. They do not engage in a friendly or overly accommodating way. Sort of a \"it is what it is\" approach. It is away from any restaraunts which would be fine if their restaraunt was functioning.. but it was closed for 2 or 3 days at the start of the week. When I asked for water, was told that I could use their vending area. Steam room/sauna are not worth it. View from outdoor pool is nice though. I wouldnt recommend this hotel for any particular reason except for a nice view. They have a lot of work to do in terms of service to make this worth while. Moderately disappointed overall.

The name of the hotel means \"beautiful view,\" and that is absolutely accurate. It's a bit of a steep drive up the hill to the hotel, but you are rewarded for it. We loved the views from our hotel room and from the breakfast terrace. The rooms were simple but provided just about everything we needed. The breakfast was bountiful, and the staff were gracious. It was lovely to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside not that far away from Salzburg. We would stay here again.

The stay was in a beautiful location and close to the terminus for the bus 151 to Mirabel Palace in central Salzburg. Our room was clean, however the main plug socket was not attached to the wall in a safe fashion. The pillows were awful and provided no support for the neck. We would suggest that the pillows are changed to firmer ones. The staff / owners were incredibly helpful and friendly, even their lovely children were helping in the breakfast room during our stay and were sweet. The hotel felt safe and secure with the main door locked from 9pm and only accessible via the room key. There are two flights of stairs and that’s okay if you are able bodied. There is no lift provision, but there is a ramp from the restaurant to reception area. The outside car park is free and there are plentiful parking spots. We have a Maserati and were concerned about its safety, but had no issues at all. The hill (Heuberg) to reach the property is steep and not for the unfit or elderly and takes 15 minutes down with the upward taking 30 minutes. Overall we would certainly stay again.

Make sure you ask ALL QUESTIONS before you book!

I booked this hotel as it looked very nice and had good reviews. I requested a room on the ground floor or at least near a lift as I walk with two sticks. We arrived around 10pm after a 20Euro taxi trip from the town to find the key to the hotel and room on top of a postbox outside the hotel as there were no staff on duty, The envelope stated #34 2nd Floor! This included two flights of stairs and there is no lift at the property. I requested this when I booked - surely it should be policy, if you cannot deliver what was asked for, to tell the customer so they can make other arrangements. The hotel did look the next morning when I complained about the stairs - no availability of a lower room until our 5th night! The atttitude at reception was not friendly - take it or leave it! The room also had cobwebs in abundance and the sink was cracked - a large crack needing replacment. The situation of the hotel also warrants a car hire or be prepared to pay 30Euro a day for a taxi to town and back. The views were spectacular from the front of the hotel - the room we had overlooked another roof. The breakfast was adequate in a pretty room. We left after one night , having paid for 5, we got a room in a pretty hotel in the town. I certainly would not recommend it.

Superb Hotel with the character of Austria.

Absolutely brilliant. A bit of a hike from the town back up the hill to the hotel but good exercise. The view from our room balcony was outstanding. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of meats, cheese cereals, breads etc. Taking breakfast on the restaurant balcony was a treat.

Bit further away from everything than we thought so you need to take taxis to town. We were only overnight so not a huge issue. No kettle in the room which means you have to shower and dress and head downstairs. No elevator so big trudge with luggage.

The hotel is up on the side of a mountain and is quiet and secluded. Our room was neat and comfortable and had a small balcony with a beautiful view of Salzburg. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room included a nice breakfast buffet of traditional European fare; the hot chocolate was excellent. Our only disappointment was the hotel restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (the days we stayed). The hotel website failed to mention that was the case when we booked. Because this hotel is seclude on a mountainside, that means we had to drive into Salzburg for dinner and plan our itinerary to have dinner in town before heading up to the hotel at the end of the day. Overall a nice stay.

LOVED this place! Favorite hotel on our Germany and Austria vacation! Breathtaking view from back patio any time of day. 2 separate bedrooms in a suite, comfortable, quite, modern enough with good WiFi but touches that made it very Austrian and lovely. Warning no elevator and restaurant takes holiday Tuesday and Wednesday night. Front desk man very nice and helpful- saved us a bunch of money with the Salzburg day pass.

Lives up to it's name

This was a great hotel to live in. It still has the old hotel vibe. It was clean and rooms were in good condition. Dated but still good. Warning: Only live here if you have your own vehicle IMO. Else be prepared for paying a bit for the cab as it is out of the way.

The views of Salzburg from here are the best you can have. We could not have asked for anything better.

Breakfast was good. Not massive but not meagre in any terms. Have it on the outside to enjoy the views. The staff was friendly. We did not have dinner here, so cannot comment on that.

A bit of country living in Salzburg

The hotel is set upon a hill with beautiful vistas. A respite from the City. It is a 15 minute ride to Old Town Salzburg which wasn’t an issue for us since we had a car. The room was large and clean with a nice private bathroom. No air conditioning which made sleep a bit uncomfortable. Breakfast was typical continental buffet. Dinner was ok, but not good enough to do more than once. Staff was friendly and accommodating

Gorgeous Getaway

Schöne Aussicht is a gorgeous property just a short distance away from the city center. The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning. If you're looking for a romantic getaway or a break from the city, then I'd highly recommend it.

A few drawbacks however are:
1. No bicycles when it's the perfect place for them and also given that Salzburg is known for it's bicycles.
2. Front desk staff weren't very friendly or helpful especially given that it's a small property and desperately needs that personal touch and interaction.
3. Bathrooms are extremely tiny, given the size of the overall property, they can definitely accommodate bigger ones. Taking a shower is quite a task in that tiny cubicle.
4. The room was insanely hot because of the summer and there were no fans or cooling provided. Was a really uncomfortable night.

Nice hotel outside of the city centre

We only stayed one night but found the staff to be very helpful and the room clean. Location was outside Salzburg (approx €12-15 taxi ride each way although I don’t know about public transport options).
The restaurant was closed when we were there so can’t comment on that.
Breakfast fine and good views from the terrace.
The only problem was the heat in the rooms - no air con in 30+ degree heat made for an uncomfortable nights sleep.

Stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting Salzburg - check in was quick and easy, with friendly staff. Parking right outside was free. The hotel is very nice, gorgeous surrounding country side & great view out over Salzburg (though you can't see the castle). Standard room was spacious, clean, nice bathroom and a balcony as well! Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. The pool was a little unclean, it may have been early June and not high season but would expect it still to be kept spotless considering the good weather and that it was open.

This was a good, clean hotel with a helpful staff. When we asked for extra pillows, they were very accommodating. Our room had a nice little balcony that we sat on every evening, watching the sunset over the Alps.

Both breakfast and the hotel's restaurant were good.

Perfect stay

We stayed for 3 nights with our family. The hotel is over 400 years old and perched above Salzburg. The views are amazing and the building itself is quite wonderful. The hotel has several restaurant rooms on the ground floor each well adorned.
We had 2 dinners at the hotel and the food was amazing. The servers were helpful and attentive.
We would absolutely recommend a stay here for something special in Salzburg.

Fantastic hotel overlooking Salzburg

Amazing views, wonderful staff and excellent food. We upgraded to a room with a view for an extra 10 euros a night. We were not disappointed as the views from our room were stunning. We walked into Salzburg every day (about 45 min leisurely walk) and caught a taxi back for 10 euros. You can buy the salzburg card from the hotel. With this we visited the zoo (amazing). Hellbrun Palace (out of this world) the cable car up to Untersburg, Mozart's museum and birthplace as well as his family home.(all busus are free on the Salzburg card).We also went up to the fort which has wonderful views of the city. Salzburg is so beautiful and the people are friendly. Prices in restaurants can be pricey, but choosing carefully you can find something decent. We loved Lostaria for eating out. Thank you to the staff of Hotel Schone. The jacuzzi at the end of the day was a lovely way to end a day after much walking !! Would love to return to this hotel

Beautiful Views and Lovely Authentic Hotel

We had a marvellous 4 day stay here for the Christmas Markets in Saltzburg. Lovely atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff and stunning views over the city. Would return again and would recommend it for a stay out of the centre of town

Nice City views but small rooms

Great views, close to the city parking (5-10 minute drive) but small rooms. Also we had loud neighbors and the old walls carried sound. Good value but not spectacular. If all you are doing is sleeping then I would recommend.

Great View of Salzburg and mountains!

Our eyes drank in the view at dusk, at night and at dawn, each experience having slightly different lighting on the mountains and each one as breathtaking as the other! Our experience in both Switzerland and Austria is being surrounded by lush green pastures and gentle cows quietly nesting on the hillside. We had the best interaction and lasagne bolonaise at an Italian restaurant in Salzburg, just a couple of miles away.

The location was near town and easy to find using GPS! We spent the day prior, roaming the nearby hills and towns. Hallstatt was pristine and we had great stops along the Wolfgangsee and neighboring town backerei’s,

The view was indeed beautiful and the staff very nice, dinner was good, setting was quiet. Bed was pretty hard, walls were thin so we could hear our neighbors and there was hair on the bathroom floor. To be fair, though, it was quite a bit less expensive than some of the surrounding options.

Very good hotel at nice location

This hotel is at slight distance from main tourist area which is good to get out of crowded parts of town. It’s situated on a hill top which gives great sweeping view of entire cit and valley.
Rooms are nice, warm and clean. Maintained very well by the owner family with good complimentary Breakfast.

When we checked in with hotel had a lot of room available, but we got it on the top floor with no lift no view, we should be offered with some options such as lower floors or view with 10 euro more so we can choose.

Beautiful view. Great place to take hikes or ride. Lots of deer nearby in the forest. Sweet hotel in the true Bavarian style. breskfast was fantastic. Absolutely amazing view. Loved it!

Stayed for 4 days. As others have noted, the view from the hotel is fantastic. Staff are great. Breakfast is very very good. Room was clean, good beds, and also had a great view.

Visitors should be aware that there is no elevator in this hotel and there are two flights of stairs to navigate - so if you have lots of luggage, this may be a problem for you. On the other hand, the staff were more than willing to assist.

Truly a beautiful view + great staff

We traveled up the super-tight driveway on Whit Monday - the entire town was shut down. Luckily the restaurant was open. This American was thrilled to see water on the table even if it came with a 2.50 Euro/person \"cover charge\". The restaurant was lovely, attentive wait staff and yummy food. Though there is a sauna on site, there is a charge to use it. The pool looked lovely but it was far too cold out for us to take a dip.

Note there is no elevator and the WiFi was very spotty for us. The hotel is called Schone Aussicht for a reason - it really has a beautiful view. We were able to watch a glorious thunderstorm come up over the mountains and move on by us.

We were given a room with an extra small bedroom which at first did not make sense but it turns out my hubby had some business to attend to so he was able to be fully engaged with his colleagues and not interrupt my sleep. There were no blackout curtains so it got bright early. The duvets were feather-filled so I slept like a rock.

In all, a great place to stay in Austria.

Possibly one of the best views of Salzburg there is. Absolutely stunning location of a hotel on a hill. Very steep hill and a good distance from the town itself but well worth it with the view. Breakfast was very nice. Ample psrking. Would recommend to everyone (as long as you arrive by car)

Nice hotel in an amazing location

We stayed for 6 nights. Did star daily trips in the area. Hotel is only 3km from the old city. It's perfect if you have a car since it's located on a top of a hill overlooking the city. Breakfast is OK. Staff was helpful and friendly!

Two nights in Salzburg

few kilometers away from town we had a car so no issues, very nice view of the town and good breakfast. Highly recommended if you travel with a car . Wifi was good.
