Nice place, easy location

Clean, quiet, spacious room at a good price. It's maybe 5 minutes to walk to the old town - but I've stayed in the old town before and found it really noisy as people party all night. Hestia was just super clean and comfortable, good bed, good breakfast, nice little gym.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel a kettle in our room would have been really helpful. Also, some information on cotrolling heating in our room (minus 15 outside) as we only found underfloor heating on 2nd night. we were asked to conserve energy but there was no towel dryer/heater so we had to request clean towels each day.

I chose this hotel because it was convenient walk from ferry terminal and walking distance to the old town for restaurants and tourist photos. The service and breakfast were totally satisfactory. A previous review I read said it might be noisy on street side. My room face the busy street and noise was not a problem if I closed the window. I had a pleasant two-night stay.

Most well-thought-out hotel room I've been to

1. This is the most well-thought-out hotel room I've been to regardless of price. The architect made the best use of the space available.
2. Unlike Scandic Hotels, the towels used in llmarine did not have a funny smell.
3. The curtains in this hotel actually block out almost all the light. This is because (a) the curtains overlapped each other and (b) there is an additional flap at the top to prevent light from coming in from the top.

Hotel is close to the old town so convenient for visiting that but far from other attractions. Hotel is on a very busy road so if your room is on that side instead of the courtyard, you hear the cars going by all night long....turning up the air conditioning so the fan is going all night helped drown out some of the traffic noise.

Stayed 10 nights and do recommend it. Near Old Tallinn with all its charms. 5 minutes walk to entrance to Old Tallinn at Fat Margaret tower. Also close to new Tallinn. Marvellous trams and bus system that takes you all over and not expensive. Get a green smart card at Rio-Kiosk which is refundable at the end of your trip, get your refund in town and not at the airport. You do need good shoes to walk cobbled streets.
Estonia has a remarkable story and its people are so wonderful and generous.

Very impressed with the hotel, beds comfortable,clean. ate in the restaurant for the 3 nights my friend and I stayed and was very impressed with the food. Breakfast had a great choice too.

My only criticism was that the room was very dark being on the ground floor and backed on to the main road and as I prefer to sleep with the window open traffic noise was very loud. However that is not the fault of the hotel and didnt reflect on our stay

A nice hotel just outside a Fat Margerat gate of the old town and a short walk to the trendy Televeski neighbourhood. We stayed twice, room on the main floor seemed a little noisier. Breakfast was fine, with a mix of hot and cold food. really good shower in both forms, bed a little and uncomfortable for sitting up and reading due to weird shape of headboard.

Great location if you want to jump on the ferry (1hr 40, £20 return) to Helsinki for the day. Its also excellent for Tallinn old town. Wifi for the hotel is a bit rubbish (slow/didnt work). Staff friendly, room comfortable and clean.

Hotel is just outside the old city walls and easy to walk to all the sights. It is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Very nice breakfast was included. Free parking was included in rate. It was a little hard to find because it does not face the main road/address and signage is very limited.

The hotel is located very near Tallinn Old Town and the ferry terminal. Room was big, clean and bright. Hotel staff was helpful at the reception but the same can't be said of the staff at the breakfast cafe. We were 10mins late for our breakfast (admittedly our fault as serving ended at 10am) and we were turned away. We were disappointed that the cafe staff neither showed any concern nor offered any take-away food to curb our hunger:(

A very good hotel with nice lobby and lounge. Very good breakfast. Location is not very central but good - 10 min walk to the ferry station, 10 min ride by streetcar to the city long distance bus terminal but it took around 15 min to walk to the Town Hall square.
The room was very clean and looked nice overall. A very slight minus was in that the room did not have a kettle and only 2 free power sockets which were far from beds: one near the TV and the other near the door.

Across the street from Old Town and ferry harbor

My wife had a wonderful two night stay at the PK Ilmarine Hotel in Tallinn. First off, it'll cost between 10 and 12 Euros to get there from the airport, not bad. Second, the location is wonderful. It is not in the Old Town, but it literally takes about three minutes to walk there from the lobby, provided traffic allows you to cross the street. If you have an itinerary like ours, where you wanted to see the Old Town, and take the Linda Lines ferry to Helsinki, the hotel is about a ten minute walk from there as well. Perfect location. The hotel was quiet and clean. It looks pretty basic, and the TV was old and on the corner of the desk instead of mounted in the middle of the wall, but that's hardly a reason not to pick it. Wifi was decent for web browsing, but I was unable to download my latest episodes from iTunes. Breakfast was great, with a variety of hot foods, breads/pastries, fruits and coffees/teas.
The best part of the hotel... the bathroom floor. It was heated the entire time! You could walk on the tiles barefoot, and it would warm you right up! Not burn you, but just warm you up. If I make it back to Tallinn, I'll definitely stay here again.

Also, the hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the KGB hotel museum. Fascinating.

Bus and mini bus parking is 200 meters away from the lobby. Rooms are fine except a bit dusty at some corners. Bathroom floor is heated. It took us 20 minutes to walk to the old town or 3 tram stops to the new town. Walk right from the hotel, there are
restaurants and a supermarket. Convenient enough for us.

A hotel recommended in Tallinn

I booked this hotel around one month before my stay, and I had got a free upgrade to executive room (the most expensive room) when I checked in! Needless to say, the room condition was excellent with mini-bar, sofa, plasma TV etc.

The front desk staff was very nice to answer all of my queries. Didn't ask for other services but the hotel could give you a pretty good first impression.

Also, the hotel was very close to Tallinn ferry terminal, around 10-min walk. The hotel was facing the main entrance of the old town too.

The hotel was overbooked, so we were sent to another hotel for 2 nights. Upgraded to a business room both at the other hotel and at Ilmarine PK with complimentary transfer between the hotels. Very friendly staff who also gave us a bottle of sparkling wine. Couldn't have asked to be treated better.

The hotel is situated only a few hundred meters from the old town and has a parking lot. Business rooms were spacious with a nice large bathroom and comfortable bed.

This would have been fine but the receptionist was incredibly rude in how he let us know and even more unhelpful when it came to helping with parking our car and organising breakfast. I would stay again but would hope that the service was a lot better. Hopefully it was a one off bad experience.

Very disappointing hotel, reception staff are cold and didn't inform me of anything about the hotel, for the first time I did a secret hotel supposed to be 4 star, I wish I could upload a photo my view was a wall with a round window with a train track outside. Secret hotel ls are rubbish and you think you are getting a bargain but it is a con. There was as spa and would have been nice for an explanation of the hotel. Restaurant dark and gloomy, but waitress was friendly and smiled. Paid for an upgrade so became happier. This room was ok.

A pleasant hotel, perfect for its price

This hotel is well-located on the edge of the old town, opposite Fat Margaret's Tower. It is a 10-minute walk along Piik Street to the centre of the old town. The staff are very helpful and polite, answering to all queries, ordering taxis, printing documents, giving Tallinn-related advice, etc. I was very touched that they found out it was my birthday and left a bottle of champagne in my room - that was a really nice \"extra\" (no charge!).

A wide breakfast buffet is provided - English, Continental and other.

The hotel is very clean and warm - the rooms are well maintained. The only small negative point was the view - my room looked on to a wall and a carpark - but you can't have everything, and I was only in my room at night-time really!

A nice hotel in a lovely, artsy town.

This is a nice hotel and good value for money. It is located right across the old town and the Fat Margaret tower. The building is an old factory inside which the actual hotel building was built so it is quite original. The accomodation itself is modest and low key in line with the local style as opposed, for example, to the Turkish style, as we had to fly through Istanbul on our way. We liked it in Tallinn and felt at home.

Good hotel, in a great location. The breakfast is so so at best. Some of the carpets need a deep clean, and a touch of paint here and there would help the hotel shine.
Be warned of drunk Finnish couples who stay up all night banging on doors, only to be found drunk and drinking in the bar at breakfast. This aside, I will stay at this hotel next time i visit.

Disappointing though should have been good.

This hotel is in an excellent location for the old town and the room and facilities were good but the visit was ruined by the attitude of the reception staff and the restaurant. We arrived tired after a long trip and looked at the lovely information in the bedroom and decided to use the restaurant as it looked good. But they were rude and un helpful even though it was early and stated not able to use the restaurant as' had a group in' So forget other users of hotel. Even though there was plenty of room to sit -as we found out at breakfast! So we asked reception where we could eat and were told 'In old town!!'
with no directions or guidance. Not what we were looking for after a long drive!! Why get everyone's expectations going when you can not deliver? If you have a group in why not get additional staff!!

Googlemaps streetwiew didn't promise much but a nice surprise waited on arrival. A factory was rebuilt as a nice hotel. Rooms were small, still big enough. Air conditioning a plus, it was well needed during our visit. Well located, short walk to harbour and Old Town. Our rooms were at the quiet side, guess the street side isn't as quiet with lively traffic. Kind personnel, normal hotel breakfast.

Convenient location, good value

This hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the old town, but gives you the benefits of a modern hotel. Very large, comfortable bed, air con that works, nice big shower and lots of wardrobe space. No tea making facilities, but the drinks from the bar on the ground floor (hot or alcoholic) are such good value for money that it doesn't matter. The breakfast was good, with plenty of tables and a good variety of food. There is a small gym and the hotel does lunches, which we didn't try, but the menu looked good. Location is also good for the port and around a 25 euros to the airport in a taxi. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Comfortable hotel with an excellent location

Well located hotel for visiting the Tallinn Old Town with about a 5 minute walk to the Old Town wall gate and also many parts of the new town could be accessed by walking. We were upgraded to a \"Business Class\" room, probably because a number of tour groups came during our stay. Generally this was not a problem, but one morning there was at least a 20 metre queue to get to the breakfast food table. This was rather annoying as all of the tour group were waiting for cold food, whereas, because of the layout, we had to wait to get to the hot food as well. Unfortunately all the food was laid out on a table at one end of a long breakfast room. The breakfast food was plentiful with a broad range of cold foods, but the hot food available was very limited.
The room was quite large and well appointed and on the side away from the main road so was quiet. Like many hotels, the air conditioning was noisy at night, but the room had individual controls and it could be turned off.
As we travelled on to Helsinki by ferry, the hotel location was very good and within walking distance of all the ferry terminals.

Convenient Hotel

This is a nice hotel and have stayed here before when we could get a good deal. It would be a bit out of our price range but you can get good prices through hotels.com sometimes. The rooms are nice, clean and spacious with air-con and all the other necessary amenities. We were upgraded to a business class room upon arrival because they had already filled up the normal rooms. Wi-Fi is free, as is a decent breakfast. Bear in mind that parking is 5 Euros a night if you have a standard room. It comes free if you have business class room or above. It is conveniently located, if not in the best looking part of town. It is safe though and only really a five minute walk to the Old Town part of Tallinn. It is especially convenient if you are arriving by ferry, because it is located very close to the port.

The restaurant in the hotel was nice but small and they were having a large party there and the wait would have been 40 minutes. I think it is a very reasonable price with a good quality. The location is near the city centre, in a walkable distance about 15-20 mins. The staffs are really friendly and helpful. The room is very cosy and warm. The bed is very comfortable with two separated duvets. The bathroom floor with heating, have provided shower gel and shampoo. The breakfast is amazing!!! We have more than 20 choices, very delicious breakfast :))) The quality of the restaurant is not bad. The food display is nice, some of the dishes is nice, but not all of them. The waiters are friendly.

We arrived at the end of March so outside the usual holiday time. My wife and I can't stand excess noise and nonsense so we, as grandparents who have done our kids time, like to enjoy some peace and quiet. The staff were friendly and very helpful and full marks to the reception staff. We had a standard room which on the face of it was lovely. Regardless off my future comments the standard room is quite good. Pŕoblems: plug missing from sink; headboard dust appeared to be excessive; between bed and bedside cabinet dirty with hairs and didn't appear to have been vacuumed for weeks; dust and a beer top under the bed; between the toilet and shower was dirty. The cleaning lady came in when we put the door sign out half way through our stay but... no change.
The only meal my wife and I ate at the hotel was breakfast. The range of food available will exceed your expectations depending on where you come from. Ģive the rooms a proper good clean please if Ilmarine read this.

Very convenient with the free car park

I stayed 4 nights and had a car with me so the room with free parking option was very good indeed. Room was clean and ok. The bottom floor room was however too warm to my liking and the air conditioner did not help much.

I arrived at the hotel and I had problem with my reservation, the system was slow in updating and I had to call Expedia for assistance. In less than ten minutes, the head of the front desk gave me a room, upgraded me and made sure I checked in two hours before my checking time. Once I checked into the room I just loved it, the only down part of the first night was that phone was not working but they made sure to get me a new room the next day. The bed were great for the price

C, Shampoo and etc available
D, Shower in the wrong direction for any one that is used to US standard
E, Staff friendly

I would just warn about the pickpocket professionals who are around the flower shops in old town. If anyone approach you with a flyer make sure to look behind you. place all your important belonging in front pockets and not behind. Don't carry things that will attract these guys. I was close to be mugged but I was quick enough to respond. This location is far from the hotel but I thought it was important to share this experience

WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE VS St Petersburg

Great location, Great hotel. Great staff Really good restaurant and pretty good prices. Tallinn knows how to do business with tourists especially compared to St Petersburg. Tallinn is #1 without question of all the Baltic countries and head and shoulders above St. Petersburg.

Close to the old town

The a/c didn't cool well,we switch rooms but it didn't make a difference.The hotel is walking distance to the old city as well to the main attractions.They have free parking.

Tallinn hotel

Solid hotel. Good sized room. Comfy room. Very helpful staff. Good internet. Good location just outside the north gate of the walled city.

Dull

A fairly dull experience staying here. Breakfast was tedious cheap quality with no variety. Restaurant was shut to residents for evening meals on two evenings from 6pm onwards with no prior warning. Feels more like a 3 star hotel rather than 4 star. Lift out of order for the nine nights we stayed there ( we booked and paid in advance for 2 rooms as otherwise would not have stayed so long) and lengthy trail to use functioning lift. Bar shut at 10. The hotel could really do with a bit more charisma.

Great value near Old Town

Staff were outstanding. Couldn't be more helpful..We had a large room in the new wing which is on the quiet side.Room has heated floor, heated towel rack, fridge and safe.Hint don't go for extra price \"Business Room\" They are same size and in same location in the new wing.Great location.200m from supermarket.400m fro entrance to Old Town.Near the cruise port/ferry terminal.About 1km to major bus/tram/train station. Tram stop right outside the hotel.Free computer in lobby and wi fi in rooms.Only reason didn't give 5 stars for room is there are no wash clothes,tissues or a mattress pad. . Towels were a little small and light.No sauna.One other oddity the entrance is behind the main street. Overall a real value!

An excellent choice!

The hotel is ideally located, three minutes' walk from both the Old City and tram lines. The rooms are neat and clean, the breakfast selections hearty and tasty, and the staff helped me out whenever I needed it. I would certainly stay there again- I should note that I stayed at this hotel last year as well, and it did not disappoint this time around either.

Great hotel for visiting Tallin.

Perfect location for arrival by ferry and for visiting Tallin. Pleasing decor, providing comfortable and quiet rooms. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
