The staff were fantastic. Couldn’t fault them and they were always very helpful. Since Galgorm have taken over and made it ‘family friendly’ it has turned tacky. They need to either revamp and modernise the hotel for family’s and kids or else reinstate it to its former glory. A helter skelter in the car park, a bouncy castle in one of the large rooms make it feel like a very expensive kids adventure play area. £500 for 2 nights and not stated anywhere that the main bar is closed and only a ‘pop up’ bar with 2 beers on draft and a few spirits. It’s sad to see such an amazing place go downhill so much

Overall a lovely stay in Roe Valley Resort.
Staff were all super friendly and helpful. We asked if we could use the swimming pool facilities after check out to which they said no but offered us complimentary late check out so that we could use them before leaving. The breakfast was lovely - we were hoping to have breakfast in Fratelli’s but we assume with the hotel being super busy (kids off school for Easter and a wedding on) we had our breakfast in one of the event suites which we think was an over flow room. It was Buffet style and plenty to choose from. Pool was great and room was clean and exactly as described. Some parts of hotel needing modernised but you can see they are in the middle of doing works and everything that Galgorm touches is perfect so we can’t wait to visit in the future to see what more they have done. We had dinner in the coach house - only negative was my meal (honey chilli chicken) was very bland and meat very tough however my husband loved his meal. I’m sure if I had of chosen another dish, I would have enjoyed it more but my only critique to add.

Building work going on at the hotel just now, as they are renovating parts of it. We were told about this before we booked. It didn’t affect our stay at all though. It was good to see the improvements they are making. Staff are amazing. So very helpful and friendly. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

The hotel could do with a bit of upkeep. The room with the bouncy castle had a bad smell which all the parents where talking about.

The disco for kids where put into a room and given glow sticks with muaic on. We have been to better hotels where this had been in a function room and they have outsourced entertainment and there was more enteractiin with the kids, my son was bored after 10 mins.

We also went to the coach house which was lovely but you can only order 3 courses for a child. I was a bit annoyed as my children don't even eat one. They also didn't want the same dinner so had to pay for 2 lots and it practically all went to waste.

I am also glad to hear the swimming pool is getting extended as my 2 year old was terrified of the jet skis coming at her as there was no room to move.

It wasnt a bad trip, I just believe galgorm have started charging galgorm prices too soon when nothing has really changed much since they have taken it over

There were excellent amenities and wonderful food. The staff were pleasant but at every stage there was a wait for service - either the hotel had poor systems in place or was understaffed (I suspect a bit of both). Checking as slow, food service was slow and seating at breakfast was slow.

This hotel markets itself as high end and in terms of facilities that is fair. In terms of quality of staff that is also fair. In terms of the capacity of the staff it fell short.

Wife in the room was extremely sketchy.

Room is dated. Free bottle of water was partially used by other guests. Heating not consistent. Food just ok ordered steak in coach house restaurant and had to return it as it was so tug. Chef agreed and I got full refund.
Signs on spa doors stating jacuzzi was temporarily closed for maintenance, when I enquired staff said it was just warming up and would be up to temperature in 2 hrs (which suited me) when we went back staff kept saying it’s still 2 degrees short of the temperature it should be with perseverance they eventually relented and opened it for us.
On a positive note staff are lovely

We thoroughly enjoyed our family overnight stay. Staff were so friendly, family suite was lovely and spacious and the breakfast was amazing. Our little ones really enjoyed the play park and the fun fair activities. Rooms could have been a little cleaner and the hotel in general felt slightly outdated. The helter skelter was a bit slow going down and the bouncy castle completely soaked which was a little disappointing. But otherwise the children had a blast. Would be lovely to see the pool area updated next time we come to stay. All in all, a really lovely hotel and super friendly staff. Definitely will be back again.

Room was old and outdated. Went to the spa for mud application, arrived on time but the receptionist said she needed to heat up the steam room, which took half an hour. We needed up waiting in the room for half an hour which delayed our further plans. The steam room was also very slippery with mud and there was zero facilities for you to get a grip on, which is very dangerous if elderlies come for the spa and fall. The dinner at the golf club was also disappointing, more like weatherspoons pub food. Overall disappointed by a so called 4 star hotel but received ibis treatment.

Spa was good and I had the harvest glow treatment .the wee girl India was lovely and very good at her job
On the plus side there were a few minus
We were 2 pensioners and we were put in the rooms that were at the end of the corridor .this was not good when you have a disability , to be fair I did not inform them of this at booking.
Again at breakfast I felt because of the crowds that were there we just got put in with the masses.
Again the mobility issue came up and I asked a lady , I think her name was Alison who changed tables for us and she couldn’t do enough for us.the gentleman who had seated us originally didn’t appear to be too Happy about it We dined at the coach house that night which was okay.
Overall a lovely stay.

The premium room was extremely spacious enhanced by the high ceilings and period features, it was very quiet and private and had a lovely atmosphere with the bed being extremely comfortable and we also enjoyed the jacuzzi bath. The breakfast was exceptional, first class produce & efficient staff. The evening meals in The Coach House were good, the staff were pleasant, though the service on the first of the two nights was very slow. Overall we had a positive experience, would stay again ‘ would recommend.

Kids activities main selling point of hotel for families however opening hours of some of these activities do not cater to this with activities zone only open from 3-5 on weekdays. This meant our child missed out on using this as it was not mentioned to us at check in.
Food in fratellis ok for dinner. Pool area remains nice and good for families. Overall an ok stay

Hotel facilities and room were nice. Although bed was uncomfortable. Restaurant food arrived burnt and extremely limited food options for gluten free, for dinner & breakfast. Gluten free for breakfast consisted of G/F cornflakes and a slice of G/F bread. In addition the toaster for G/F toasting was broken. This is despite the hotel being told in writing and verbally that there was a guest staying who was coeliac. Disappointing from a 4* hotel.

We were attending a wedding and stayed overnight. The venue is really good for a wedding however the rooms are a bit dated and not having Aircon on a warm evening made the room quite uncomfortable. The self service breakfast was average considering it is an upmarket hotel. Overall a n expensive room being over £300 for a family room and 3 people.

Sofas are worn, carpets have holes in them, bathrooms need showers instead of baths (especially for the older)

We stay often at Crawford burn another Galgorm hotel which is more suitable for couples for a relaxing stay.overall nice overnight stay and good value for money. If you were going with a couple of kids ideal.

Everything was very good, cleanliness, comfort and service. All staff were helpful and courteous.
I used Spa and the the service was good there also.
Dinner was served quickly. At breakfast I asked for a poached egg and it came in a few minutes -The only negative thing was the bacon at breakfast was a bit hard due I imagine, to sitting for some time. Staff in dining room were again very helpful and pleasant.

This is a lovely hotel located in stunning countryside. It is a fabulous old building that has been expanded to include a spa, golf course and seems to be a popular wedding venue.
Our room was lovely and we loved the fact we could walk out into the countryside.
The restaurant staff were really lovely and we enjoyed the food too which had a good choice and was well presented.
Whilst we were there it was a little noisy because of the wedding party and all the fun everyone was having that went on into the night. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing stay I would recommend confirming they have no weddings booked in at the same time, else an enjoyable stay.
