We arrived in for a wedding at a different venue quite early and wanted to see if we could just leave our bags with reception. Instead of this, the front of house team found us a room that was already ready, and got us checked in well before we expected that we could do so. This gave us plenty of opportunity to freshen up before needing to turn around. Later, the front of house team were also able to book us a taxi. Unfortunately it was very delayed in arriving, meaning that we would be late to the wedding, but one of the staff had ordered a taxi that had turned up for them, and offered us to take it so we could get there sooner. The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating during our stay, and they are a credit to the Hotel. Thank you for making our stay as comfortable as you all possibly could!

Since we stayed last year there has been a renovation of the reception areas. The carpet, furniture and atmosphere is very much improved.
The pool areas could do with a revamp. There is a lot of black mould around the walls and it would be nice for the jacuzzi areas to be useable to residents within the stay.
The family rooms are well equipped with a fantastic feel to the decor. The showers are brilliant power showers and the cleaning staff are just amazing!
Overall, a lovely stay - a nice change to the breakfast being serviced to order. A very enjoyable stay and hope to visit again very soon.

At least the third time we have stayed here, though it must be 7 or 8 year’s since our last visit.
Friday afternoon/evening in the reception area very busy with an event that had been rearranged from the previous weekend.
Restaurant very busy, but calm and very competent service.
Friday evening noise in the corridor where our room was situated, was bordering on the extreme, Saturday evening, the complete opposite.
Restaurant food good value and reasonable menu.
Breakfast was tasty and again well worth it.
Overall a very enjoyable experience and we didn’t even mention the swimming pool or spa!!!

It was a lovely hotel to stay at. Quiet in the evenings and far enough from the city but close enough as well.
Staff were lovely. Food was great.
Breakfast was a combo of cooked full irish and continental.
The room was a bit stuffy and dated and super hot till we found a way to turn off the heating.
The pool and sauna and hot tub was lovely the hot tub was a 15 pound charge per person. And it was outside which was absolutely lovely.

It might be an idea to say there is a charge for the hot tub on your description of the hotel.

But it was a lovely stay despite the room being stuffy and dated.

2 adults 3 children stayed for one night for the Halloween celebrations in Derry. Location was excellent, 10min drive from the hustle and bustle of the busy city centre.
Upon arrival (we arrived early) our room wasnt ready but we were allowed to use the pool and facilities which was brilliant for the kids.
Swim done, our room was ready and we were allowed to check-in 2 hours early. Superb.
Staff were friendly throughout the hotel and more than helpful.
We dined in the hotel that evening, food was grand and service was excellent.
Next morning, breakfast was basic but very tasty and as much as you wanted to set you up for the day.
Pros - staff, cleanliness of the rooms, comfort of the beds
Cons - hotel is slightly dated & the water in the pool was a tad cold
I would definitely stay here again!

The room was nice and clean. The location is awesome. The parking is great too. It was rather noisy though because people chat loudly in the hall late in the evening and doors slam because the doors are heavy.

At breakfast, one greeter, a senior staff member was rather gruff. Nobody was around we entered the restaurant. We
Waited and then we seated ourselves. I think she was annoyed. The other servers though were quite pleasant.

We stayed for 2 nights with our 18 month old daughter. Lovely hotel, pool was great. We thought breakfast was goid value and plenty of choice. Room was ok would have expected it to be slightly better and larger for the price. TV was really small and reception was poor on a lot of channels. Bath/shower was really difficult to get in and out of due to the really small bathroom. Plenty of products provided though. Room was spotlessly clean. The receptionist on duty was excellent very welcoming. Breakfast was extremely expensive for the price with little choice and we were seated right by an open door when it was very breezy outside. Overall it ok but pricey. Not sure it deserves a 4 star. More like a 3.

Staff were very helpful, cleanliness was good and beds were extremely comfortable. The restaurant service was slow but the food was excellent. Portion sizes on the small side, but quality of a very high standard. We were next to 2 rooms of party girls who were talking very loudly, slamming doors etc in to the small hours. There was also a birthday party with drum beats heard loudly in the room until midnight. The pool was very busy with children's swimming lessons, but the hot tubs were amazing - a pity that there was an additional charge to use them.

Second time saying here, first time was amazing which is why we returned. This time the dinner was not worth £75. Kids meal tasted like the chips had been cooked twice and reheated, yorkshire puddings were cremated and the beef was tough. No drinks menus on the table but asked straight away what was to drink. The soft drinks we got were flat. Service was slow and waited 25 minutes for dessert (ice cream, cream sundae and a tart)At breakfast the potato bread was burnt and looked as if it had been cooked twice again. Not able to use the facilities after check out (we were allowed last time) and Wifi didn’t work in our room. Check out experience was poor, lady didn’t know the answers to our basic questions.

The Best Western Plus White Horse is a decent enough hotel from most respects - I was perfectly satisfied with our room. What let it down was breakfast. We were asked to choose a time for breakfast as they need to plan the throughput of guests when busy, which seemed a reasonable rationale. However, when we went to breakfast we found that the restaurant was almost empty - definitely not what I'd call busy. I counted 4 staff manning the restaurant while there were only a maximum of 8 tables occupied, and they still couldn't keep up. Both the cold and hot buffet tables were badly depleted - the cold table didn't have any glasses for the fruit juices. The fly crawling over the cold buffet put me off its unprotected offerings. The hot table didn't have a great selection - no grilled tomatoes or potato bread, and the black pudding was so overdone that when I tried cutting it a lump broke off and shot off my plate. Neither table had enough serving spoons; the hot only had two spoons which guests had to use among all the pans - heaven help any vegans wanting to sample the mushrooms or baked beans with spoons covered in bits of egg and black pudding.

Beware of pictures there not a true reflection.

When we arrived the staff didn't seem approachable and it was like that the whole stay rooms our to tiny half a bath and the shower was either to warm or to cold not a 4star hotel they get that rating cause of spa the outdoor jacuzzi was the best thing about it and even over priced at 30 pound per couple per half hour extortion so if you book a standard room make sure your not tall or closterphobic forget about it we were really disappointed we worked all threw pandemic and it was our 1st break and we even checked out a day early and the staff never even asked why it seems if your not from the area then you don't matter terrible customer service and would never recommend it 4star prices in a 2 star hotel really

The hotel is not 4star. It is filthy. The room smell was overpowering from febreeze. Carpet well worn and grubby. Bathroom mouldly. Pool lights so dim to disguise the scum, also overpowering smell of bleach. I did message hotels.com on the evening as we had to check out it was so awful. No response. Luckily Bishopsgate Hotel had space, but by time we got there (and had to pay again) kids (3 and 6) were hungry and v disappointed they didnt get to splash about in a pool. This was first time booking with hotels.com

Challenged on arrival about my breakfast status, said he would come back to me, but didn’t, which caused an issue in the morning when I tried to get breakfast. Stayed in room 101, small room with to much furniture, couldn’t open wardrobe doors, had to move desk chair to get past easily. Shower cubicle small and you have to sit sideways on the loo as it is placed far to close to shower cubicle.

Get ready for a surprise mid-shower!!

Showers only had boiling hot water, no cold water to mix and make it usable. We were offered a different room so we packed our bags and moved to a different room which had the exact same problem. Worse is that the other room was dark and gloomy because the lights didn’t work!

The newly refurbished restaurant is beautiful and the food was excellent, especially the Chana Daal! The swimming pool is a great size, but the best thing about our stay was the sense of genuine welcome and excellent service from every single member of the team. We will stay again!

Booked a 2 night stay getaway half board. Keyworker working all through COVID looking forward to relaxing break however ready to leave first night. Safe in room broke, asked for iron waited half hr for a broken one to be sent. Service in bar and beer garden horrendous. Ignored when tried get attention and had to keep going to bar to ask for service despite COVID table service. Empty tables in beer garden left sitting with dirty plates and a cat licking them eating scraps which doesnt give much hygiene confidence. Dinner was appauling, brought the wrong starter, asked for no potato or sauce on plate but got it anyway, cheap ingredients or poor quality. Ordered drinks and had to chase after 25 minutes inly to be topd they missing ingredients for the mojito so sent it anyway with water instead of soda water and no lime. Absolutely disgusting and it went to wrong table, so much for COVID care. Sent it back and still being charged. Manager accepted fault but had nk authority to do anything. Asked reception to check out told to go on our way no one holding us here, no refund but still trying charge is gor drinks we didnt have. Have had no breakfast, told regional manager see us at 10, then 11 now 11.45, and cant leave until we see him so our break is far from relaxing and have never endured such cheeky, rude staff. 2 other rooms are checking out early also complaining so not just us. Shame on you Best Western as we recover from COVID lockdown and need kindness more than ever

Nothing special. Pool is average, no seating area. Rooms okay. Internet not strong enough signal in room to be useable. Restaurant service was a shambles. Getting main course before starter, metal filing in the moules. Long waits for service. Wrong food offer to wrong tables. !!!

Great hotel - just needs a bit of a modern touch.

Great hotel but rooms could do with a modern update.
Bathroom although clean in general, mold on the walls was still visible.
Food - FANTASTIC!!!!!
Service - hotel staff and restaurant staff very good, but bar staff was slow with very inexperienced waiting staff.

Great hotel

We had a great 3 nights at the hotel, room was really nice, only negative thing was that the bathroom could do with a lick of paint. Otherwise the room and hotel was lovely.

We had breakfast which was nice and the service was great. My daughter enjoyed sitting under the blossom tree which was a stunning pieces of decor.

Kids really enjoyed the swimming pool. Michelle who was on reception in the spa was so helpful and provided a great customer service, a true asset to the company. She went above and beyond her job and was our main contact of staff.

The hotel is around 10mins drive to the city with McDonald’s, starbucks just a 5 minute drive down the road - which was handy.

We will definitely be back for another stay!
