We loved Shipquay Derry! Staff were welcoming, friendly& professional. Beautiful rooms with amenities that indicate they understand what travellers want.
Margaret
The food in the restaurant was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. Equally the staff were very obliging and helpful. Just a question whether or not the sheets had been changed on my bed in the family room. My friend’s was ok.
Good location and recommendation by a staff member to walk the Walls was brilliant.

Everything was excellent. The breakfast was outstanding,

The hotel is beautiful and well kept. Our room was hot and stuff. No window to open or AC. The toilet had also not been cleaned and there was remnants of the previous guest.
Suzan
Another excellent stay at Shipquay. Had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. Amazing breakfast included in the rate with a wee complimentary Mimosa to start the day.
We will be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Glasses of bubbly on our arrival. Staff very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The food was very good quality and breakfast was served to our table ( not buffet style). All areas of the hotel were very clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We would recommend a stay in this hotel for someone looking for a bit of quality and relaxation
Peter
Friendliness of staff
Jenny
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff and amazing breakfast. Super value.
Michelle
This hotel is so beautiful and comfortable, not to mention perfectly located near all the points of interest in Derry. The breakfast was delicious as well. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and professional. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Derry.
Jennifer
Our room was bright and looked out over Shipquay, the main street, lots of natural light. That gave a little street noise at night, but not bad. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to eat in town.
Parking (paid) is a short walk up the hill.

The Staff was really welcoming and the property was first rate. Terrific breakfast as well!
Mark
Hotel was in a great location and was nice. The room was too hot with no way to cool it down and the view was of a wall even though I paid for a room that was above the base level
Kami
Breakfast was good! Our rooms were very small and old. Beds were comfortable.
Carol
Great hotel and great food
Matthias
Nice, small hotel in the center of town with friendly, helpful staff. And the breakfast was excellent!
Hans
The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and staff accommodating. We enjoyed a welcoming drink and sweets. The room was clean and the shower great. The location was centrally located. Parking was a bit challenging but we found a lot a few blocks away that was safe and reasonably priced.
Louise
We had a wonderful stay in Shipquay hotel, we were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco - a nice touch, it was notable how fantastic the staff were throughout the visit, so friendly and helpful

Thomas
The hotel central to all tourist attractions and 5 minutes walk from the bus station. A period property that has been tastefully modernised. I highly recommend it.
Kathleen
Greeted by wonderful receptionist who provided a flute of champagne
Michelle
Great food and atmosphere.
Only issue is parking and accessibility.
Hotel location makes it difficult to access with a wheelchair or walker.
Room itself was great, as was the restaurant

This hotel was a delight and mainly due to how lovely the staff are! Lots of little extras offered at moments we didn’t expect them, amazing water pressure, comfy beds and pillows, and honestly an excellent breakfast menu. The location is very central to everything and we had a great time.

Child's/Twin bed in room was lumpy and seemed broken. Rooms are small and not modern, but the restaurant, staff, and location were all fantastic!
Dorcas
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful.
Jennifer
Conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Perfect spot for an easy, comfortable stay!
Jim
From the moment you enter you can tell this is a good hotel. The reception staff are wonderful - exactly who you would want to welcome you and explain everything you would need to know. The room was great...we were in a relatively inexpensive room so our view was predominantly other buildings' walls. We could not fault the bed - very comfortable and the shower room - very hot, powerful shower. We ate in the restaurant for our breakfasts and one evening for dinner. Absolutely excellent food and again great folk serving the food. A joy to be there. We would recommend your staying here if you were visiting Derry - a great little hotel in the heart of the walled City. Perfect!
David
Great service at reception.
Jack
Safe enough area, staff were lovely. Couldnt have been more friendly.

A great location with very friendly staff and a delicious breakfast! Had an amazing stay in our room with a great view and comfortable bed, and loved breakfast the next morning.
Barbara
The location was the best part of this hotel. Everything was within walking distance from it. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. Staff were very pleasant
Eileen
The room and restaurant were both stylish and beautiful. They also both had nice extras that made me feel like a valued guest. The restaurant served an exceptional dinner and breakfast. The staff was welcoming and very helpful with local knowledge. HIGHLY recommend.

One night in Derry
A lovely stay with a family dinner at the hotel followed by overnight stay and breakfast. the breakfast and service was superb. We needed disabled access and the hotel was as helpful as possible but the hotel is situated on a steep hill and parking is not available on site
Verified traveler
the bed comfort was fine and the room was clean and the staff were lovely. This says it is a new boutique hotel and that it is four star but it is not decorated to a very high standard or style and there was definitely little attention to details
Amanda
Beautiful hotel
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, glass of bubbles on arrival and a few treats in the room. Best hotel in Derry do far .
Jacqueline
Fantastic staff
Week before our stay we received a courtesy call from Brendan regarding parking etc. Thought this was a lovely touch. On arrival at the hotel we were early for check-in and hoped to drop off our luggage. Mairead at reception advised that our room was ready and could check-in. We were delighted. We were then told we got an upgrade and offered a glass of bubbly. Food, cocktails and staff were excellent. Had a fantastic stay and will definitely return and recommend to others.
Hannah
The staff was truly excellent, a stand out experience! Would absolutely go back again
Neil
The staff was wonderful and property was absolutely amazing.
Lyndsay
The only negative is the location. It is half way up a very steep hill and parking is a 15 minute walk away. No immediate parking and not accessible for those struggling with hills. Only a few rooms have AC. The food and staff are amazing.
Caitlin
Wow! What a beautiful hotel! Bubbly on arrival, restaurant was incredible, free full breakfast in the morning! This is luxury 10/10.
barbara

Brian
Excellent restaurant, very polite and helpful staff. Only negative was the tall bartender … total jerk.
Natalie
The Shipquay Boutique Hotel is amazing. Were to start? The staff of this hotel are incredible. Hands down the most friendly and knowledgeable staff I have ever met. They had restaurant suggestions, maps on where to go jogging in the morning, and shopping suggestions. The breakfast was delicious - the best scone I had on my trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland. The room and bathroom were lovely - had a great night sleep.
Donnie
Beautiful building, great food and suberb staff.
Leslie
Loved the property. Excellent location. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and was a great start to our day.
Derek
Great Stay
Its our second time here, and it wont be our last. The Staff are wonderful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is perfect.
David
The Shipquay Hotel is an elegant boutique hotel with a great location within the city walls of Derry. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The onsite restaurant serves great food, and there is also a bar in the Lower Ground Floor.
Due to its location, there is no onsite parking, but there is free street parking nearby overnight, and the nearby parking lots are really cheap for daytime parking while you do the sights.

The Shipquay in Derry is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The staff from Reception to Housekeeping absolutely excellent and professional. Our room along with everywhere we went in the hotel was spotless, food was lovely, just everything about it made us smile. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Derry stop looking and get booking! 😊
Charlie
It was super hot and humid. They don’t have AC.

Had a great night stay at the hotel, staff are lovely, the girl at reception was so pleasant and very helpful, lovely complimentary glass of bubble at arrival, and bottled water and biscuits in the room which was a nice touch, Breakfast the next morning was delicious, such a selection to chose from and nice glasses of mimosas if you liked which was all included in price, the only one downfall was the room we were in was incredibly warm, the window had an inside glass which we could open but the outside window didn't open so we didn't feel any air coming in, so it felt a bit stuffy, in saying that though, its not enough to put me off staying there again, I would recommend

Wonderful Shipquay
The hotel was wonderful. Is in a great area with historical sites and shopping. The staff was so friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and quite a bit of food. The beds were comfortable and so were the pillows I could’ve stayed longer.
Richard
Helpful staff and first rate service. Excellent location within Derry walls. Parking is offsite. Breakfast is excellent, and they have in room beverages.

Boutique stay in a friendly and welcoming atmosphe
We were greeted very warmly from the start of our visit. The staff was polite and helpful in making suggestions for activities in the area. They helped with our luggage and we were welcomed to our rooms with fresh baked shortbread cookies and prosecco. It was lovely. The cooked to order breakfast that was included in our stay was delicious and fresh and again provided with a courteous level of friendly service and efficiency.

Staff very friendly, room had bottled water and robes and toiletries provided which was great.
We had a top floor room so had to duck under the sloping roof!
Shower was very good, hot and decent water pressure.
Food and service in the bar Lock and Quay was great.
Didn’t feel super safe in all areas surrounding the hotel, mainly due to a few unfriendly pubs and knowing not everyone in town likes Brits!

Very comfortable rooms right in the center. Has an excellent restaurant attached.
Tracey
Lovely hotel and used to be our favourite place to stay in. Got side facing room this time which really needs maintenance. Bed was right up against a pillar with the bedside table awkwardly behind the pillar. One light broken in the bathroom and heating wouldn't adjust. Slept with the window open in January but sleep interrupted by party goers outside. Previous rooms have been gorgeous but this was well below par and not worth the money. Staff lovely but was too tired to go through the issues when checking out. Just went home.
