We enjoyed our 1 night stay. We had a nice room on the top floor with a nice view. Being in the top floor and no lift we only took from the car what we needed to save carrying suitcases up the stairs.

Room very disapointing and bathroom was very small weve had bigger wardrobes tbf, and bar and restaurant advertised on site but no bar or restaurant available or available on site and we were booked in for 2 nights but one night was more than enough we left the next day and still waiting on a reply from the property as of yet nearly a week ago dont hold much hope all ill say is book somewhere else

The bathroom is tight, but water pressure is good!

Food options for dinner within walking distance are almost non existent, so it's an adventure!

Breakfast though is well stocked and there are options for everyone!

The room and bathroom were clean. Bed was comfortable and bedsheets spotless.

Continental breakfast was available with a wide variety of breads, croissants, muffins and cereals.

Parking on the street might be a challenge though since the street is narrow and cars are parked in both sides.

Our one night stay was pleasant.

Loved our stay here! Staff were nice, friendly and helpful! Breakfast was great! If there’s one gripe, I have to say was that the shower head in our bathroom was leaking hard so we needed to tone down the water so as not to have the water get out of the shower enclosure, otherwise the bathroom would have been flooded . But other than that, our stay was terrific and I highly recommend this B&B.

One night stay for GAA match

Very nice place to stay, on Arrival room was quiet cold and had to turn on rad. Forgot to turn off and room went to other extreme at nighttime. There seemed to be only one setting. We had selected this place partially because of breakfast included but in the morning we discovered that it was on continental breakfast and hot breakfast was an extra charge. Now the hot breakfast was good quality and value. Other than these small things it was very cosy, friendly spot to stay and great location for matches in either Celtic park or the brandywell.

Good, but noisy building

The stay was nice, people were helpful, but the noise level in the hotel is high. The walls are incredibly thin and the front door is used constantly by staff starting at 6:45 in the morning and slams shut every time. It was incredibly loud and disruptive.

Beautiful view of entire city from bar & patio!

Excellent location to avoid city center, was very quiet, small room but had everything you need, short very do-able walk to city centre, staff were all very kind and helpful, on-street parking but was not a problem getting a spot. But even better than all of that for us was the bar and patio in the back. So cozy and beautiful with a spectacular view of entire city. And at night the view is stunning with city lights.

I was in Room 2. The cleanliness in the bathroom was bad. Shower area had NUMEROUS places with black mold. We did not notice the mold until in the morning after daylight. When we took a shower the water seal on the shower leaked out on the floor. The flooring is tile and appears to be buckling up on the edge of the shower pan. The transition from the bathroom to the room is unfinished. I took photos to support my claims and will produce copies of the photos if requested. Parking is a situation where if you get a spot you are lucky.

We had a large room. Cleanliness was just OK (carpet, linens, window treatments were a little musty). But staff was kind, and the bar, restaurant and outdoor deck were amazing. Lively, well decorated and with a wonderful view of the city. Breakfast was great, with both buffet items and hearty hot breakfast. They catered to my gluten-free and dairy-free requests. We were able to find ample street parking in front of the B&B for our rental car. Note: The later you arrive, the less parking there is.

A great spot to stay in Derry!

A great place to stay in Derry - only 15 minutes from Foyle Street Bus Station. Staff always checking to see if everything is okay and fix any minor problems which they did very quickly. There were minor stains on the bedclothes which was no issue and obviously having a single bed isn't perfect but overall very highly recommended. Breakfast really good too!

Great little B&B. We stayed in the new addition and it was wonderful. Only issue we had, was the heat. We couldn’t figure out how to turn it on or off and it went off in the middle of the night so we were really cold in the morning. Otherwise, I would highly recommend staying here. Walking distance to great restaurants, the wall walk and peace bridge.

I never received the email with the code to the lock box so upon arrival had to call the property owner to get the access code. Our room was upstairs on the third floor (not handicapped accessible if you need it to be) and the bathroom was very, very small. The small shower was very confined and ran out of hot water so a cold shower was what my wife and I got. Also, the bathroom sink was positioned right be the corner shower which restricted half of its access, needless to say washing hands, brushing teeth, and washing face was nearly impossible. The WiFi Internet was very spotty.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night during September 2018. The overall stay was average to good but felt there the was a lack of personal touch/owner didn't go the extra mile for the guests.

Remember, this place is a self check-in. The day prior to arrival we received an email with our lockbox code to receive the room key...Good thing I've checked my email, otherwise we would have been clueless on what to do.
The positives:
-The place is close to the town, about a 10 minute walk to town.
-The room was clean with nice view on the town.
The negatives:
-very small shower area.
-small room, we had 2 medium luggage so we had to be creative on how to place them in the room.
-although free parking mentioned, the parking is on the street (free) and not private. There was parking on the street when we arrived.
-we did not meet the owners as this is a self check-in place. So the only interface we had was with the cooking lady (who is also the cleaner) during breakfast. She felt like a very cold person, so not much interaction.
-Breakfast was average, no thrills.
Overall okay stay for one night but without all the pampering we received at other hotels/B&Bs we stayed at during our Ireland trip.

Photography Trip to Ireland

The purpose of this trip was to meet some local photographers and the location of Serendipity was perfect. A few minutes walk into the main town too.

I must admit I was a bit nervous as I was on my own and my room (3) has a separate private bathroom and it just down some small stairs, but I had nothing to worry about. It was not a problem and I felt very safe and comfortable.

The beds are very comfortable! Breakfast was spot on and staff very welcoming. Decor was mainly beautiful but there are some areas that could do with some TLC..

I’m looking to come back and hold some Photography workshops at Donegal beaches and would have no hesitation to bring back my Photography colleagues here.

Thank you Stephen for a lovely little B&B... I’m glad I have found you.

Previous comments mentioned problems with check in but they've changed their system to a personal lockbox so you can check in whenever you wish.
Nice building on residential street so parking could be the only issue.
Very clean. Modern and comfortable. Great views from room 1 and dining room. Lovely breakfast. Local pub just around the corner and a great Italian restaurant at the bottom of the hill.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS BNB. The bnb was hard to find especially when you are driving in a foreign country with no GPS as our data service didn't extend to londonderry. We were late for check-in, and when I explained to the owner that we had issues and were lost, he responded, well that's not my problem. Like seriously?
Is this seriously how you treat your customers? He refused to check us in, saying we were rude and refused to refund my money. We were clearly agitated after driving for over 2 hours in a foreign country trying to our way, but he showed no compassion what so ever.

Booked this hotel during our drive around in Ireland and northern Ireland. We got lost getting in from Belfast and lost signal, so we got there an hour later than planned and missed check in. There was no one there upon our arrival, so we buzzed the intercom and called the propwrty. For about a good 10 minutes there was no answer, at that point, we were tired hungry and very agitated because we had a tough drive in. Someone shows up, and I approached him hoping it's either a guest or an owner that can let us in. The first thing he said was your an hour late and you only booked for one person. I said oh okay, but I booked 2 beds and we got lost driving in and didn't have signal. He answered well that's not my problem is it. That's not my problem, is it???? Is that seriously how you greet guests who have been lost and had to struggle to find their way? The owner refused to check us in, so we had to find an alternative location to stay, at 930pm in a foreign land with barely working cell signals. Not recommended.

Serendipity House

Serendipity House enjoys a good location with some good views of city. Sadly, thats were the recommendation stops. The room we stayed in was small, shabby and poorly maintained including broken furniture, split shower hose; broken tiles in bathroom; damp stains. Overall the building has poor sound proofing. It boasts the offer of a fine breakfast but again this was disappointing with items that were cold and either ageing (fruit past sell-by date) or missing. It's difficult to determine who you are really dealing with but the impression is this business is only interested in the profit they make vs customer care. Clearly little investment in this property tic standards of furnishing and maintainance. If your're stuck for a place to stay overnight then this would probably make do - otherwise its not at all typical of Irish hospitality and standards.
