Disappointing

When we arrived, we were coldly greeted and felt like we were a nuisance rather than paying customers. After politely asking for a better attitude, the man at reception was much more pleasant and to his credit remained so the rest of the trip. The outside of the hotel and the lobby look nice, but the room was very shabby. The bed linens had stains and holes. The towels were threadbare, fraying, and a dingy grayish white color with stains. On hotels.com it said our room would have ac but we were told that the rate we booked was for non ac. Even when we showed our booking to reception they told us they couldn't do anything for us. Its location is its only redeeming quality in my mind. It's s an easy walk to the palace and restaurants are all around.
Overall I was really disappointed in this place. I've had better service and accommodations in cheap hostels than I had here and if I would have expected a hostel environment I wouldn have been as disappointed. However this place is listed as a three star hotel. The minibar they claim to have consists of a tray with two cups. No hot water pot with tea or coffee. To me this hotel looks and feels as if it is cutting every corner possible to make a buck. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Don't stay in this hotel Roopa , Mysore

(1)The restaurant serving breakfast will keep food enough for first few people only. If you are late by 30 min after it opens, you will get only bread , without butter/jam.(2) Bed linen/ towels will not be replaced.They just make the bed again.(3) No courtesy in service.

the experience was good. the staff is polite and attentive. room service is fine. though the rooms were in good condition they are small and donot provide us with any view. hotel is close to the mysore palace. and the restaurant on the ground floor is really good. ambiance is of restaurant was good and really budget friendly.

It was raining outside and the staff asked us to check out other hotels when I asked them to show me the room and I was not too happy about the room condition. I shouted at them and told its raining outside and makes no sense of me to go out and check other hotels. They stood like rock, no response.

Good value for money hotel-half the price of its neighbours. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Staff ask for suggestions each day to improve service, etc. We could only think of 'new shower curtain and basin(cracked)', but otherwise all clean and good. Great breakfast and good dinner in Spicez Fusion . Excellent location for sightseeing-we walked everywhere! Would stay again!

Meh, one could do better.

The room and bathroom were nothing special, and of considerably less quality than I expected given the cost. I'm glad I brought my own TP - the bellboy never brought it despite several requests. Front desk was vaguely polite but underinformed about basic travel information. The rooftop restaurant was very pretty but the food was mediocre and the service was appalling. I waited 20 minutes both to order food and receive the bill as the entire staff was watching a cricket game on the bar tv five feet from my table. They also ran out of beer, which seems implausible. Have dinner at the Park Lane which is three minutes away. The breakfast was fine although real coffee cups (not paper) would have been a nice touch. Breakfast staff was the highlight - friendly, personable and not overbearing or scrounging for tips. Good location near the bus stand and palace, but a forgettable experience overall barring the inept rooftop restaurant.

Nice location but small rooms

The hotel is in a nice location and that is the best advantage of this hotel. The breakfast on offer in the morning is also really good. You get a complete breakfast and there is even bread and cornflakes for those who don't prefer indian food in the morning. The downside is that the rooms are small. We has initially booked for a delux for 3 adults but found it too small. We then upgraded to a suite (which was approximately $20 more) but other then a bit of extra room it was nothing special. The A/C is on all the time and there is no chance of opening a window to get some fresh air even if the A/C is off. It gets a bit stuffy. The restaurant staff are friendly but the receiption staff are a bit indifferent.

Good location, good restaurant down stairs

We got no dinner mentioned with booking, but Indian breakfast was nice. We are pleased with friendly staff and good food in down stairs restaurant, but not in rooftop restaurant where all went wrong - food,service and price with surprised taxes, no any restaurant around has (like, value tax). Was nice to have newspaper every morning and voucher for breakfast,but for one person only, so we needed go and ask for a second one.

Bad stay experience

The only advantage is that it is centrally located and close to attractions like the zoo and the palace. The cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired and the bath rooms were stinking. The towels provided were stained and torn. The food also was not good and hence we had to eat outside most times. The complimentary breakfast was the same all days. Decided to stay at ginger on the return journey and the experience was definitely superior at slightly higher cost

Great location, great service and hospitality

Really enjoyed my stay in this nice hotel in the pleasant city of Mysore.
The staff are so friendly and the service is really good. the room is clean and there is hot water.
the hotel is located within walking distance to the main sight in Mysore, the Palace and you can also walk to the bus station. They can also arrange a driver for you to get around Mysore or do a day trip to surrounding areas like Srirangapatnam. The complimentary breakfast is adequate, especially if you like South Indian breakfast, but if you want a western breakfast it may fall short.
The rooftop restaurant was nice and had good service. The wifi was a bit on and off.

Great location and very good value for money

Hotel Roopa is located very conveniently with the palace and zoo at walking distance, loads of restaurants closeby and not noisy at all. We weretoo happy with the cleanliness of the place though as the sofa, the sheets and shower curtains in both the rooms we took were stained with god knows what, pillows and mattresses are like hospital beds and there isnt much else than a TV and AC. Room service food was average but didnt take too much time and the rates were very reasonable. All in all a pleasant reasonably priced hotel very close to all the sightseeing and shopping areas in mysore. A detail that was missing when I made the booking with hotels.com was that check-in/check-out time is 12 noon, just in case.

Good location and clean but poor service.

Our room was clean, which is the main thing I care about. Our sink leaked continually though and when we told the hotel staff they did nothing about it, so we ended up keeping buckets below the sink and emptying them periodically. The three of us were also crammed into a tiny room onto a tiny bed. We had to call housekeeping/reception four times before they brought us the extra towel we asked for. The food in the rooftop restaurant was okay but the drinks were phenomenal. If you go, I recommend the Apple Martini.

Very nice hotel and good staff with the exception of very loud music coming from the room next to mine, I complained only to be told not to worry as those people were leaving the next day and nothing more was done. The roof restaurant is excellent and the rooms and location very good.

Not what was expected!

Upon arrival confusion started when staff at the reception could not find our online reservation. We had to show them, on my laptop (twice), to prove that we did actually book and paid for two luxury Ac double rooms. We did receive two rooms, and they were reasonably clean, except for the mat in front of the bathroom, which looked like it had been there for ages. The toilet paper arrived 30minutes after we entered our room. ok. But the paper was disgusting and a live roach walked out of one of our rolls!
Breakfast was served, not quite at 7:30, and they claimed to be continental but it wasn't quite optimal. They did serve us plenty of fruits, but when ordering extra yoghurt for four adults, they came back with one mini bowl of plain yoghurt. Their doss's deserve the thumbs up.
The tourist/travel service was reasonably good, actually! We had asked for a english speaking driver to take us around the surrounding areas of Mysore. We received a driver, non-english speaking, who took us everywhere we wanted to go.
For the fact that this hotel claims to be slightly higher class...it is disappointing!

The best part of the Hotel Roopa was the rooftop restaurant/bar. There is a nice view from there of Chaumundi Hill and even the Palace. I stayed in a basic non a/c room and it was bearable, but bathroom so dirty I actually didn't want to take a shower there and transferred hotels the next day... but did come back one more time to the rooftop bar which was very nice. I think the a/c rooms must be nicer-- which is often the case in India that the a/c rooms are much cleaner, more modern and larger than the basic non a/c rooms.

This hotel is no-go for everyone, though this one is very close to Palace, zoo etc..but this one is not worth stay when you spend couple of thousand bucks with your family.

I would not recommended this hotel at all, very disappointment with the room.

Review of my stay in Hotel Roopa

It was a good hotel to stay. Though the feedback book that was kept in the lobby was threatening, the subsequent experience was not disappointing in many aspects. Though the hotel needs improvement in many service lines, it was ok to stay for a night.

The service staff was courteous, though it was a \"dont give before the customer asks\" kind of engagement.

The highlight of our stay was the buffet breakfast (pure veg) at Spice'n'Fusion restaurant. The spread and taste were excellent. Probably this is one good reason for choosing this hotel.

While checking out, please beware of the charges, because I was asked to pay for exra bed despite paying through Expedia already. I had to take the help of Expedia helpdesk to resolve the dispute.

Hotel Roopa

We stayed at Hotel Roopa for a night on our way to Coorg. In a nut shell, these were our views.....
The pros are as follows:
a) The front office staffs were cooperative (we made an early check in)
b) Walking distance to the Mysore Palace
c) Sight seeing places were all near by sans KRS dam
d) The food at the roof top restaurant was good
The cons are as follows:
a) More attention is desired as far as the maintenance of the rooms are concerned
b) The spread of the complimentary breakfast needs to be increased

On a whole, our experience was average...if you are looking for a budget hotel in the heart of the city, can try this out....

Zentral gelegen, trotzdem ruhig

Das Hotel Huber ist sehr zentral an einer lauten Straße gelegen. Unser Zimmer ging jedoch nach hinten raus und war dadurch sehr ruhig. Das Zimmer ist klein, einfach aber sauber. Die Betten waren bequem. Für eine Nacht war es für uns okay. Sehr schön ist die Dachterrasse des Hotels. Zum Frühstück gab es eine gute Auswahl an indischen Gerichten, auf Wunsch wurden aber auch Spiegeleier etc zubereitet. Wenn man keinen Wert auf großem Komfort legt, dann ist dieses Hotel für ein bis zwei Nächte durchaus zu empfehlen.

zum 3. Mal hier in diesem Hotel

Ich liebe die Atmosphäre des Hotels sehr das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstuck ist ein Indisches Buffet im Restaurant. Am besten Luxury AC buchen die Zimmer sind gross und alles bestens. alles ist in der Nähe zum Besuchen und Shoppen auch zahlreiche Restos ganz nahe. Eine gut Adresse für Mysore

Personnel très bien, chambres très sales

J'ai dormi une nuit dans cet hotel au mois d'octobre. L'accueil est correct, le personnel sympa et disponible. L'hôtel est bien situé. Cependant, globalement les chambres sont mal isolées, il est donc difficile de dormir sans bouchons d'oreilles. De plus, si la chambre est à peu près propre, le lit, les draps et couvertures sont sales avec des punaises de lits. Prévoir d'amener ses draps (et de bien les laver ensuite).

Tolle Umgebung tolles Hotel tolles restaurant

Sehr gut gelegenes Hotel mit freundlichem Personal zum Frühstück eher Indisch aber sie bringen was man will. Zimmer , die Klimatisierten sind sehr komfortabel. Ich war 11 Nächte dort und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Mysore bietet viel!

terrible experiencia

tuvimos que pedir un cambio de habitación, porque nuestra habitación estaba sucia, con los productos de limpieza todavía en la habitacíon, sabanas sucias con pisadas, y toallas manchadas. nuestra sorpresa? un calzoncillo sucio en la mesa... al bajar a recepción la atención fué muy mala, con malas caras. tuvimos que pedir toallas y papel higienico porque no habia en la nueva habitación. solo nos dieron dos toallas pequeñas, y un rollo de papel para dos días. Nos alojamos dos días y al llegar a la habitación el segundo día nos encontramos con nuestras toallas que habiamos usado por la mañana dobladas y en la cama, como si fueran nuevas.
subimos a cenar al restaurante que hay en la terraza donde tenían zona de fumadores ( cubierta) y zona de no fumadores (terraza) pedimos zona de no fumadores, y nos dijeron que no había sitio. al salir a la terraza a mirar nos dimos cuenta que habia varias mesas libres. nos fuimos a cenar a otro lado...

el peronal del parquin era muy mal educado y borde
