I was very disappointed with my stay, as my AirPods Pro were stolen from my room.

I had left my AirPods Pro in the charging case on the cofe table in my room. When I returned to my room later that day, the charging case was gone. I checked with the front desk, but they had not seen it.

I am very disappointed that my property was stolen from my room, and I hardly recommend anyone staying at this hotel.

Good stuff. Thought I would have a night in central Nairobi so I could have a few hours explore but in the end the traffic meant I got there later than expected. Good value. Fantastic roof bar/restaurant with the best food I had on my week in Kenya (though the threshold wasn't very high)

It’s a good value for money, for sure! All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is priced reasonably and tastes good! Room is spacious and clean. The thing that sometimes annoy me about the room is not about its interior but rather the size of the room key keychain! It is like the size of a billiard ball and I always get stuck trying the unlock the door.

As I got a room closer to the road, you can hear the vehicles’ sound a bit more. I am not sure if it is the same case for rooms at the back. But you might want to consider that option.

I think what the hotel can also improve on is to ensure that they control the noises near the reception area especially at night. My room which is No. 7 is just across and I can clearly hear every sound. Even the phone’s notification of person sitting at the bench in the lobby.

I also availed of their city day tour. It’s not really something that you will be given with a proper tour guide but a dedicated driver and a planned itinerary for the day. It was all good for me as I went to places where I can easily read the references. I had an amazing driver and he can also answer questions about the city.

But overall, I still had an excellent experience and will still stay in this hotel next time if I happen to visit Nairobi again.

Stayed here for one night on an overnight layover. Staff responded quickly to inquiries and arranged airport pickup and drop off for a fee. Room is very basic but was good enough for my purposes. Loved the rooftop restaurant, food and service was excellent.

Great value

Travelled solo and felt completely safe and secure in the premises even if location was not in the best part of town; just got tours to pick-up and drop-off. Staff was friendly and super-accommodating with requests. Breakfast was good and roof restaurant had good food that was inexpensive and great ambience. Laundry was inexpensive too (but note that they just place in washer and dryer). Great value for money.

It was calm and relaxing. Centrally located in the CBD and not far from airport. The hotel organizes airport shuttle for you once you call and book in advance. The place is quiet, and enables one to sleep.

What truly makes this hotel is the staff. They are wonderful! So kind and helpful. From arranging a taxi to selecting all the particulars of your breakfast, they will make sure you are happy. When I arrived at midnight at the Nairobi airport for my first trip to Africa, I was nervous if someone from the hotel would really be there to meet me

as expected for short stay in Nairobi

Has to find an inexpensive place to stay while in between flights. Nairobi was not a place we wanted to be a tourist in and this hotel location did not alleviate that feeling. To kill the time, the taxi ordered from front desk took us to Nairobi National Museum for a couple of hours. The driver came back to pick us up and even took us to a pharmacy which was open on Boxing day to get me some cough medication.
The hotel was ok but roof-top restaurant needed lots of patience as service was slow and not all items on menu were available. This was ok for us but as we had nothing else to do. Tusker beer was inexpensive though. They thoughtfully brought breakfast to our room at 5:30 am on the morning we were to catch our flight back to Amsterdam.

A stopover no-frills hotel. Staff friendly and accommodating. Have their own airport shuttle is convenient. Breakfast pre-ordered and was delivered right on time. The cavernous centre court may interfere with sleep for light sleepers. Decent value. Prepare for tons of traffic if going to airport in the morning. Leave plenty early

Decent hotel, but extremely loud. The kitchen started up around 5:30am, and I heard every movement. Room was in acceptable condition, and rooftop restaurant was nice. But, there are better hotels in the price range.

OK hotel, GREAT staff

Unless you want to pay top bucks, you are not going to get western standards for cleanliness & functionality. All that said, this hotel is reasonable for the price. Comes with a large breakfast & they accommodate you even if you have to leave super early (even before the normal breakfast hours). Wifi is weak & spotty. Avoid rooms near front reception as it can get noisy even during the wee hours of the night. The staff is very friendly & professional. They treat you even better the 2nd time you stay there. We wanted to upgrade our room & they gave that to us free during our 2nd stay. The cost of the airport shuttle to & from the airport is reasonable. The traffic during commute hours is ridiculous. We thought we avoided it when we left early but there was 1 accident in the other direction & traffic in both directions came to a shrieking halt. Our driver was amazing and scary at the same time as he tried his best to get us to the airport on time. We were late but so was everyone else, including the pilot so the flight was delayed & everything turned out fine.

Comfortable but...

Khweza is a nice little place, a bit hidden but convenient. I did have a few problems with the rooms however, such as: lack of air conditioning or a fan during those very warm nights; the bed sheets were very itchy, as though they are hardly ever changed; the position of the socket in Room 16, which I stayed in, could not be accessed by the television cable AT ALL. If these small issues could be looked into, I would look forward to another stay at Khweza when next I'm in Nairobi as well as recommend it to anyone visiting Nairobi for a short stay.

Great value for money as breakfast is amazing and you can have it in your room or on the amazing rooftop bar. drinks are very reasonably priced and its close to town. Neighborhood not so good but there are matatus and the guys here will escort you to the shops if you need anything.

OK hotel with excellent staff

I imagine that this hotel is probably of decent standards compared with other similar hotels in Nairobi. Coming from the west, it's hard to compare apples to apples. By western standards, the room condition & cleanliness is of a 1-2 star hotel, but it's the staff that really shines thru. They were all very professional and friendly. We stayed there before & after our safari. I asked to upgrade to a better room than the first time we stayed fully expecting to pay for it, but they gave us a free upgrade because we had stayed there before. We also wanted to buy the magazine from the room as it had nice photos of animals we had seen on our safari & they just gave it to us. So they did not try to nickel & dime us for everything but instead they really gave us a great deal. The breakfast was huge and good & was already included in the fee. They even accommodated us on our last morning as we had to leave before breakfast officially started, but they had someone bring it to our room early. The wifi was weak unfortunately. We arranged taxi service from the airport & our driver was waiting for us with my name when we got out of the airport. We also had taxi service to the airport. Due to an accident, the roads from all directions to the airport was jammed packed. I was afraid we would miss our flight but our driver was amazing & scary at the same time. Airport shuttle service cost was extremely reasonable...just avoid commute hours, & pray for no accidents!

I stayed at khweza for a few nights after a conference in Nairobi. I think that the reviews on here are pretty accurate. It's nothing fancy, but it's a nice place to stay. The staff are particularly friendly and happy to talk about what it's like to live in Nairobi.

Well, I just loved the staff. They are so nice!! And the food is fantastic. But it was really uncomfortable. The room was freezing. The hot water didn't work so I just stopped showering. And the room had windows that opened to the lobby. So people would sit in front of our windows and talk, SMS, use the internet... All night. It wasn't unreasonable behavior but the way the hotel is set up, it feels like people are in the room with you. Try using bathroom with a group of people sitting right on the other side. Sleeping? Not possible. Other rooms weren't right inside the lobby. Maybe those would be better.

I stayed at Khweza for one night as my flight was the next morning- about a half an hour taxi drive to Nairobi international airport cost $25. The standard double room was clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom. The staff at Khweza were welcoming and very helpful with regards to arranging taxis. Breakfast was of a good quality, cooked breakfast, fruit and tea/coffee. The only fault I can note is the surrounding neighbourhood- located in the outskirts of the city- although only a 15minute walk to the centre of nairobi- outside the hotel are numerous markets and favelas. Otherwise, would recommend

Khweza is a hotel in Downtown Nairobi which was a real treat. Most hotels in Nairobi are very expensive and cater to tourists who are unfamiliar with the city. I have stayed in the high end Nairobi hotels several times and felt they were overpriced. Khweza was an unknown to me but a great find as they had great personal service and I felt safe and saved a lot. I recommend their hotel without reservation.

Friendly clean B & B, great value for money.

We stayed at the Khweza B&B on three different occasions over a month. Each time, the rooms were spotless and the staff very friendly and helpful. We used their cab service and the rooftop restaurant on occasion and have no complaints. The hotel is unimpressive from the outside as it is situated in a non-touristy commercial area but the interiors are done up with African artwork and paintings and the furnishings are tastefully ethnic. The atmosphere will leave you in no doubt that you are in Africa, and we mean this in the best way possible.
The only minus point could be the location. It is a 10 minute drive from the CBD and the road in front is rather seedy-looking, broken down and dusty. It is bustling with pavement shops and typical Kenyan crowds but we never felt it any more unsafe than a similarly crowded third-world street. There is an ATM just outside the Khweza and a couple of local eateries including a Kenchic Inn, which will do in an emergency.
The rooftop restaurant has a limited but excellent menu and you are given a form to fill up each evening where you are spoilt for choices for breakfast.
We would love to stay there again.

Bad experience with airport transfer service

Would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for something close to the airport.

They are very expensive (by African standards) for their airport transfer service. $50 USD roundtrip. $23-25 each way not including tip.

I found out that we were ripped off. A normal transfer should have cost only around 10-12 dollars each way if we were to have taken a cab instead of the hotal van pick us up.

Good for backpackers

I booked this hotel simply because I needed somewhere to rest my head for one night in Nairobi and to that end it was okay, but I would certainly think twice about staying here for longer than one night. Deciding to be fancy I spent the extra money on the “Executive Suite” but there didn’t appear to be very much “executive” about it. The room was basic and functional but that was about it. Very little charm, although the staff there seemed very nice. My shower had exposed electrical wires hanging out from it, which was quite a worry. The neighbourhood is pretty poor but on the plus side there was a rooftop bar which gave some respite from the room itself. If you’re on a serious budget and have no desire whatsoever for frills (basically, backpacking) then it will just about suffice, but if you’re after something with the slightest allure then I would not recommend.

Not going back there!

It looked more like a house with several rooms than a proper hotel.
The bed,tables,wardrobe etc were old fashioned.Very few TV channels. WiFi Internet available but very poor connection,almost inaccessible.

There were no carpet or marbles on the floor.

The surroundings are terrible. Dirty,noisy,crowded,damaged roads.

I did not use the restaurant.I did not have the guts to do so such was the \"hotel\" environment.

I stayed at Khweza for 5 days while I completed some business matters. The staff were really great. Although the menu was quite limited, the quality of the food was very good, and it was tasty. Meals were taken on the roof terrace, which is really nice. Rooms were of good quality, although some only have one window which looks into the interior of the B&B, and so has a lot of noise from the hotel itself. My room was at the front of the building, which overlooked the main road. It also was noisy, but reviews about this from previous tourists had prepared me for this, and it wasn't a problem for some-one used to living in London. You can't really move around the area on your own without a taxi. If I went back I'd barter the taxi fare down from 500 KSh. The actual fare is a fraction of this. All in all it was a good place to stay.

Arrived late and in dark after 1.5 hour journey from airport. Taxi driver unable to find address despite speaking to reception by phone while en route. Originally told restaurant was closed, it was after 9pm and we should go out to eat, but when pressed they managed to provide a meal at about 10pm. It was raining so the roof top restaurant which only had a small covered area and was in darkness made eating our meals difficult. We were unable to access our allocated room as the floor had been painted in the corridor and the paint was still wet. The alternative room was fine and breakfast we ordered next morning arrived on time. In daylight as we left it was noticeable what a run down area we were staying in. Glad to get away.

The hotel staff are very polite and helpful, and the breakfast is excellent. However, the location and neighborhood community is noisy and unprofessional. The hotel inside looks clean but the surrounding area is not clean. In addition, the signboard reflecting the name of the hotel is somehow hidden, it not easy to find the hotel.

This is a nice hotel which includes a very large, delicious breakfast.
It is within walking distance to the museum and downtown but in a run down poor neighborhood where the streets were undergoing repairs so very dusty.
But remember, you get what you pay for.
We would stay again-very nice folks and much cheaper rides than other hotels.

Average hotel at an average price. (for Nairobi)

The hotel was decent. The room was clean and the staff was very nice. Our shower drain was completely clogged which caused a pool of water in the bathroom every day for us to clean up. They were having people remove paint from the floors on the last few days of our stay and the paint thinner fumes were enough to almost make us sick. My wife and i are not fussy people at all and never complained about anything. We know that things could have been much worse. The niceness of the staff, free breakfast brought to our room every day, and the nice rooftop bar and grill made it easy to overlook the bad parts of our stay. I would recommend this hotel to others only because of the price as compaired to other Nairobi hotels and the nice friendly staff.

The Staff were sensational (5 star), and could not have done more for us.
I had what was supposed to be the best room in the house but it was on the main street frontage with traffic most of the night. On arrival, we were advised by the staff not to walk in the area, even in daylight hours. One flight of stairs up to the \"restaurant\" was very steep and out in the weather as was the restaurant/bar itself.

Good Budget Option but noisy

The people here are friendly and will help you any way they can. The hotel is built around a central concrete courtyard which echoes a lot and can be very noisy at most hours of the day. There was a power outage whilst I was there (common in Nairobi I think!) and the generator added to the noise. It is within walking distance of the city centre and there are a few restaurants around. The rooftop breakfast is lovely.

This B & B is really a small hotel. The room was extremely comfortable, clean and excellent value for the money. The food and drink prices were extremely reasonable and enjoyable. The roof-top restaurant/bar was a lovely feature. The breakfast was also good value for money and the service was extremely punctual.

Our bags were \"lost\" by the airline for more than 24 hours and the hotel gave us their security guard to go shopping for clothing and toiletries. Their concern and care for their guests was exemplary - probably far better than we would have received from a large hotel where we'd have been just a number. The security guard's assistance was very much appreciated.

My home away from home!

Khweza Bed and Breakfast is an absolute gem - prices are reasonable, staff are fantastic, the rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a lovely roof top terrace where you can enjoy a meal or a drink at a reasonable price. Breakfast is also included in the rate.
It is located in Ngara Rd which is only about a 20 min walk from the centre of town. The location is certainly not up market but it is very authentic and I felt completely safe walking around during the day.
I spent 9 nights at Khweza although not consecutively and I was able to leave personal belongings in the storage area while I travelled to other parts of Africa which was great.
Each time I returned to Khweza I was greeted like a friend with staff remembering my name so I really felt like I was returning home.
Khweza also have a laundry service which I was grateful for. On my last visit to Khweza I arrived back fairly late in the afternoon and asked about washing my clothes, explaining that having been on safari for 2 weeks I had very few clean clothes. The next morning at 8.30am I had a knock on the door and all my clothes were returned clean and ironed.
I would recommend Khweza as a great place to stay in Nairobi.

the b&b was better than i expected...there is internet close by which was cheap and the little resteraunt next door was cheap and easy also...
staff were helpfull,can get noisy outside at night but it didnt affect my sleep...
i had a big spacious room, breakfast was better than expected and is 20 mins into town centre by foot....but theres nothing to really see and do in nairobi city centre... overall for the price its well above what i expected

Nice Hotel Staff Make the Experience Different

It is not a very comfortable B&B because the location is not that good and bed was too soft .... but I would say all the staff that I had met at the hotel were excellent. From the manager who gave us a small discount because of our mistakes, the kitchen staff who gave us pots of hot water and breakfast after the breakfast time, the reception lady who looked for the bananas for us because we needed and even the bell boys who helped us to take our heavy luggage between the ground floor and second floor .... They were all very kind and helpful and trying their best to serve us. Good hotel staff make the experience different.

Nice rooms and friendly staff.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff who helped me with tour booking and transfer to/from the airport. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was really nice and was freshly cooked every morning. Unfortunately, the Wifi was weak in the room and the TV didn't work. The area is ok with shops nearby. The Nairobi National Museum is a 20 minutes' walk from the hotel.

スタッフがフレンドリーで親切です。
食事も美味しくて充分量があります。
ダウンタウンで交通の便が良いです。
トップテラスからの景色は最高でした。

Sehr schönes gemütliches Hotel nicht weit vom Stadtzentrum. Die Dachterasse ist super und man kann dort einen schönen Abend verbringen. Zimmer sind sauber und ausreichend von der Größe. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Hotel situé à environ 30 min de marche du centre ville. Il faut absolument prendre un taxi pour s'y rendre (passage par un quartier pas très recommandé).
Etat de la chambre et de l'hotel convenable par rapport au prix (hotel 2 étoiles).

einfaches, kleines aber sehr sauberes Hotel, sehr aufmerksames Personal,
gute Küche, sehr gutes Frühstück
Lage relativ zentral
wer auf unnützen Luxus verzichten kann, ist hier sehr gut untergebracht
