Managed yo get good price for 3 weeknights.Stayed in many many dormy in the past. As usual, the onsen is very good with cold, outside n inside pool. Free stick icecream, washing of clothes n night noodles. BF is quite standard and variety change slightly. Room small, bed hard, service good. However. Pricing has at times shot through the roof. Other like minded newer onsen hotels are entering market.

This was a first time I’ve ever stayed at hotel with such amazing customer service, hospitality cleanliness, a free half- portion of ramen at the evening snack, a variety of breakfast options, and complimentary ice cream after bathing. Room was small but functional for one person and one can easily open a large suitcase on the floor which is not possible for most of the business hotels in Japan. Despite being on the first floor (floor 2) there was no sound from outside (a car park), no sound from any neighbours. The onsen was a major highlight open throughout afternoon, night and early morning so one can avoid the crowds. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Akita.

5 minute walk from Akita station, there are plenty of food options around and shopping malls nearby to do souvenir shopping.
Plenty of attractions nearby like the park opposite and the Akita Inu station behind.
The onsen on the top floor was also enjoyable, and had free dessert right outside. There's also free noodles at night for supper.
Great place to stay for day trips from Akita.

we stay at this hotel specifically because it has an onsen (hot springs) which is a very nice one and great to have on a cold winters eve. the dormy inn chain has lots of other great little perks (free ramen before bed, popsicles after the bath, etc...) and the service is wonderful. however, you should note that people with tattoos are not welcome in the bath (a rule in Japan that needs to be changed!)

Excellent location across from Senshu Park and on the bus line, and a convenient few minutes walk from the west side of Akita Station. Also on the 100 Yen \"tourist\" bus route. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. As an American who knows some Japanese (but not enough to read a lot of text) it would have been nice to have detailed English instructions on procedures and etiquette for using the hot spring/spa. I wanted to try it wasn't confident enough to use it. But we were so busy with other activities it wasn't really an issue.

Great location, walking distance to Akita train station. Good breakfast and free noodle at night. Hot spring is at 11th floor. Luckily, we were experienced the summer festival when we stayed at this hotel. Great to see different culture. The park near the hotel is very beautiful, you can go up to the tower to oversee the city.

Had a great stay at the Dormy Inn Akita. The location is about a 10 minute walk away from the station so it's not directly next door but still decent; there's a covered arcade that you can take but for the last 2-3 minutes, you won't have any shelter. The room itself is comfy enough and modern. The best parts of the stay were the in-house bath on the 11th floor (felt like an onsen and was particularly nice with the snow coming down at the rotenburo) and the free ramen they offer to guests from 930-11pm. We opted out of cleaning to get a free cup noodle and also used the free washing machines on the first night. Lots of places to eat nearby and there's a 7-11 just around the corner in the back. Only downside for me was the wifi being relatively slow in the evening. Not the cheapest place in the list, but definitely worth the extra money!

A standard business-type Japanese hotel, with a nicer-than-average bath facility on the top floor. We had some unexpected and still unexplained extra charges when checking in, but otherwise we were happy with the hotel. The location is nice, across the street from a big lotus garden. They have excellent free coffee in the lobby.

Excellent Hotel, Great Staff, Perfect Location

A few minutes walk from Akita Station and across from the former castle grounds, and also a few minutes walk from the old restaurant and bar area would be enough to make this a great hotel.
However, the staff, free noodles in the evening and the sauna, onsen and outdoor onsen on the top floor make this an excellent hotel and fantastic value all round.
The pillow was too high, and there was no alterntive and the mattress was a little hard, but not enough to put me off going back one day...

Parking capacity was too small to park our car but a guide staff taught the parking lot close to hotel. Everything was great for us.

Dormy Inn is special as it offers hot spring. So, its great in that sense. Room is clean and comfortable. However, we were given a room which needs to go down a staircase (after taking the lift up to the 11th floor) which was inconvenient with our heavy suitcases. We ve stayed in other Dormy Inns so it was only this building which was a bit weird with the staircase.

The room only have shower, but they have Japanese style onsen public bath. It was very nice! Also there are washer and dryer inside the onsen locker room area. Washer is free, but dryer is 100 yen for 20 min. They provide detergent.

Their free ramen service at 9:30pm was great, and their breakfast buffet was also very delicious. They have traditional Japanese breakfast items (regional cuisine, rice, miso soup, natto, udon, tea etc) as well as Western style breakfast (yogurt, fruit, juice, bread, eggs, coffee etc.)

I will definitely recommend this place to others!

Easy to find, Relaxing to stay.

Stayed here for business, and wanted to be close to the train station for budget. It worked great. The rooms were relatively small, but compact. There was a mirror in the shower area, which was interesting, and there was a sliding door between the hallway and bathroom to the bed area.

The people at the hotel seemed friendly, offered a large buffet style breakfast that incorporated some Western options, and offers a nightly late-night ramen service, should you wish. Also had a spa available for free to guests.

Great hotel 5 minutes from the station, recommend!

I had a lovely experience at Dormy Inn, it was only about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. I checked in about 9PM with some very friendly staff, it seems a reasonably small hotel. The semi-double room was perfect for one person (but maybe two suitcases or two people would be a bit difficult for this room), very clean and new with a nice view overlooking the park and lake. Good heating, hotel clothes provided, and an excellent buffet breakfast. Mostly Japanese food but also some western style food.

The bath on the top floor was lovely, and I also had a massage which costs extra but it is very pleasant and not too expensive.

I did not seem speak to any staff who spoke a lot of English, although this did not matter as they were very lovely and courteous and usually got what I mean anyway.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Close to the station and food and convenience stores, and a short walk to some galleries and the park. I had a very intimate and pleasant stay in Akita at Dormy Inn!

Two of us stayed in a semi-double for one night. Yes, it is small. Almost the whole floor space is taken up by a small bed. The price was very reasonable, and it included a lot of things. There was speedy WiFi. The room had two outfits (top, bottom and sturdy slippers) that could be worn throughout the hotel. There was a nice communal bath/sauna on the top floor, and breakfast and free ramen (21.30-23.00) was a tasty late-evening snack. Location is very good. Not far from train station and next to city park and art museum. Lots of shopping nearby.

Lovely Budget Hotel

It takes about 10 mins walk from Akita JR station. It is a wonderful budget hotel because it comes with a real hot spring spa that you could enjoy almost anytime as you wanted. You could also enjoy free Ramen overnight during late night snack time. The room is modern, comfortable and clean. I really enjoy my stay. Only it doesn't included breakfast that you will need to pay around $13 CAD for the buffet which included some local delicacy. There is also matcha lattee if you are a big fans of it.

Loved it.

Room layout a bit different. Door between entrance and sleeping and living space. Made it feel like a Japanese apartment.

Service was excellent. They even bought me up a pair of foreigner sized pyjamas which can be used to go upstairs to the onsen.

That last bit was the best part. The outdoor bath on the roof in the snow was a great experience.

A short walk from the JR station, this hotel is clean but small. Good for those who travel light, it has barely enough space for 2 people. Add luggage and you may not have enough space to sit or stand. That aside, it's comfy. There's no bath tub in the room... only a shower, but they have a public bath facility on the upper floor. Take note: check-in time is 3 PM and the staff will not bend on this even if it's 2:30 or 2:45 on the clock.

The only horrible thing was that the emergency toilet( why?) in the lift. The lid was half open & as I was trying to shut it the smell was unbelievable. Does staff check & clean it regularly?? Don't use lift if you can.

If you are looking for a great place to stay in Akita city, look no further! This place is relatively cheap, and is very nice for the amount you are paying. The hot spring on the top floor was an excellent way to relax after a long day. The staff is incredibly friendly and has a few English speakers which was a really nice touch. Highly recommended!

温泉レストランの混み具合がリアルタイムでスマホで確認できるのですいた時間にゆっくりとお風呂に入ることもできましたし、ロビーにスタッフの方々がとても穏やか、親切で長期滞在、ストレスなく仕事に専念することができました。駅からのアクセスもよく、目の前が千秋公園で散歩にもいいですし、少し空いた時間につまむものを買いに行くのにSEiBUやコンビニも隣接していて本当に快適に出張業務に専念できました。ありがとうございました。
