We recently stayed at Bayview Wildwood Resort and had a mix of positives and frustrations.

The room was clean, comfortable, and looked just like the photos. When we arrived, the heating unit was unplugged and appeared to have a burnt plug. It was replaced the next day, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, our room was missed for servicing, and the fireplace would not light, so we couldn’t use it in the cold weather.

The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The lake was still mostly frozen but starting to melt. The resort arranged family-friendly activities like a horse-and-trailer ride and Easter egg hunt, which our kids loved. The pool was clean, and the games room was great on rainy days.We didn’t eat at the resort, as we didn’t notice a kids’ menu. Instead, we went to Blue Moon nearby, which the kids enjoyed so much we went twice.

The biggest downside was the fire pit experience. About half the fire pits were flooded. A staff member kindly kept one going near the entrance for us to make s’mores, but when we returned it had turned into a full party atmosphere with loud music, drinks, and hookah smoking. It wasn’t something we wanted our kids around. We were told it may have been the owner’s son involved, and staff didn’t seem confident anything would be done. We ended up moving to a waterfront pit and starting our own fire.

Overall, there were some great family amenities, but the atmosphere and lack of management around shared spaces make us unsure we would return.

Everything in the resort offers the best.
Love the lake front room, so comfortable, restaurant in the resort was enjoyable, restaurant the manager, Yash is friendly and Susie at the front desk is very accommodating.
Recommend this resort 5 out of 5 stars.

Kid-friendly, staff are friendly and has good amenities. The food was better than expected but the price is also higher than anticipated. The 95$ pp per day accummulated to $500 for 2 days (5meals) there’s also a lounge fee ($13) that I was not aware of.

Couldn’t get to my room 3 feet of snow blocking my path asked to be moved advised resort was fully booked( not true I saw lots of empty rooms. ) otherwise food was good this is a very family resort . I couldn’t use the pool . Overcrowded with children using all the indoor facilities. Bed was terrible .

We loved the activities for the kids and also the amenities as well. It was a Thanksgiving weekend but we didn't feel that the place was fully booked.

The place was quiet and relaxing and it made the kids feel comfortable as well.

One added suggestion will be is to add more dining options for the breakfast buffet menu.

but overall, I would say that the place is excellent for family trips.

The beachfront water was so full of seaweed my child almost drowned getting arms and legs entwined in the seaweed. No life guards on site.
Indoor pool water looked murky. No cleaners or staff on site.
Considering the money it cost to stay here I expected a higher quality resort and safer conditions.

Overall, the facility was good except for the bed comfort. The bed was not comfortable at all, and it was very hard to move around on it. It felt like there was still plastic on the mattress. We didn’t get a good rest. Everything else was perfect. The beach water was not very clean either—there was too much grass in the beach area.

Overall we liked the resort, most people were very nice and friendly, and the kids activities and kids club were great.

However there were few things that we didn’t like:
1. Rooms were very small.
2. Beds were very high and not safe for small kids.
3. Window frames were broken and flies could come inside.
4. Air conditioner was old and super loud, that we were unable to sleep.
5. The resort didn’t honour Expedia’s agreed accommodation price and overcharged us at checkout. The resort’s manager promised to sort it out but he never got back to us.

The resort is very family friendly, with a variety of activities and a nice small beach. The resort is currently under construction and other areas need some TLC. When we entered our suite there was brown water coming out of the bathroom tap and the drains smelt. There are train tracks next to the property and freight trains blast their horns at all hours (we were worken up at 5am 2/3 days). As others have noted the food quality is poor and we were disappointed in what we received for the price. So a bit of a mixed bag, we had an okay weekend but won’t be back.

My family decided to stay here for one night as we had read good reviews and wanted to see if it was a place we would visit in the future. The front desk staff came across as robotic and were not willing to go above or beyond for any guest. The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good but overpriced and portions were very small. The room was clean but we did have to kill a few spiders in the lower corner cobwebs. We asked for bedding for the pullout for one of our kids and it took about a hour and although we were told they were at capacity the staff did not seem that busy which in that case I would have understood the long wait. The property was lovely and our kids would have enjoyed swimming but we went during the fall. Overall though we will not be going back.

I found this resort by chance and i decided to book it for a few nights after i rwad the reviews. I can honestly say it was excellent, the staff was kind, the rooms very pretty and comfortable. Access to a heated pool and a beach was icing on the cake. View of the lake was stunning. My kids didnt want to leave so that says it all. I already book for next summer!!!!

Overall quite pleased about the property. Our unit had 2 rooms with a nice patio overlooking the lake. The beach was narrow but wide and the lake bottom was firm sand and did have some weeds further out. There were canoes and kayaks and an outdoor pool. Inside pool in another building but was down stairs. We did have breakfast and dinner twice; which was a buffet. We did enjoy our short stay and would come back again.

Lovely property with beautiful views of the lake. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. We enjoyed the food at Echoes and loved that they had a children's buffet. Only complains were that there were bits of dirt on washroom floor (not fun to step on with wet feet), and the water was brownish from the tap - may be a naturally occuring thing so I didn't bring it up. Otherwise, we would definitely return! It's a nice place to relax and unwind with the family. :)

We had a good weekend at Bayview Wildwood. Two adults, and two kids ages 8/10. The property is unique and beautifully situated along Sparrow Lake and the room was clean, updated and the beds were SUPER cozy.

While we enjoyed our trip overall, we thought there were some simple things that would make big improvements to the overall experience.

Sauna or a jacuzzi in the pool area (even consider outdoor sauna for extra winter fun!). I thought there was a jacuzzi but - there is not!

Have the ice cleared early in the morning during the winter!!!
(Two days in a row we spent a lot of time finding shovels, and clearing snow, so that we could skate. We thought it would take a staff person maybe 45 minutes to clear a huge area of the ice and that this should be done every morning in the winter for guests! This would have improved my experience big time!)

Good coffee. I think usually the resort has a small shop that likes has coffee in its market - which is not opened during some of the winter (it was not open when we were there) but we would have loved somewhere on site to get a good coffee, an espresso. Or to get simple foods like a bagel with cream cheese, some fruit - things like this.

Lastly, the lay out and system for the games room could be improved. The kids loved the fun zone room but the gym / games room could use some re thinking for better use and more comfort!

Group of friends, stayed for one night in February 2023. Felt like we had stayed for a week. There was so much to do. Tobogganing, skating, ice hockey, curling, ice fishing, outdoor fire pits, games room, ping pong, fosse ball, darts, connect 4, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Food on-site was great. Fun entertainment too. Friendly staff. They think of everything to make it a great memory.

Quiet and was nice for an afternoon walk. Not much else to do as Monday didn't have anything planned. We were ok with that though. We had dinner at the lodge and it was ok. The menu options are limited and we understand as it can include a meal plan and the resort caters to groups at this time of year. Service was great at dinner. We did find the prices a bit high for what we received but we were celebrating a special occasion and were determined not to let anything bother us. That said, as we were there only the one night, no one questioned the reason for our stay at this resort in particular so there was never an opportunity to share our special occasion with any of the staff. I'm being picky, but a quick 'what's bringing you here tonight?' or 'is this a special occasion?'. You know, the small talk. Not much of that actually. Other than that, all was good. Thanks.

It ok and I’m not picky.

The lake was beautiful however there was a lot of seaweed, there was ample chairs available to sit in the sand and the staff was amazing. Upon arrival the bathroom door did not shut and the screen on the back door was broken off and did not have a key. The beds were very uncomfortable and sank in. Was quite disappointed with the room considering how much money it cost per night.

This is a great property for families ., especially little ones as it has a walk in beach. Accommodations and beds were just fine.
Food however, not great. Was just ok. Soggy garlic toast, greasy food, for the price, so decided to go into Orillia for dinner the next night and we found a wonderful restaurant called Lot 88.
The outside porch was nice to sit on, facing the water however the lights were all covered in cobwebs. A little more exterior property maintenance would go a long way and increase the overall look of the property.
Regardless , we had a nice time.
