Hotel needs some updates and maintenance. Located in a beautiful town close to the water, it would great to see some life bought back to the building. The wall paint had ended up on the picture frames and ceiling. The pool area had noodles that were broken. The planter boxes outside had no plants. The rooms fridge ran loudly throughout the night. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Our studio king room was all we needed clean & comfortable. Had a fireplace but not needed. Kitchenette was very handy. I am not a fan of carpet so that was a down for me.
The continental breakfast was just ok. Eggs cold, no protein. All else was as expected for a continental style. I will say the coffee was actually good. Very convenient location too. Staff wonderful. If in town again, we would go back.

I was so disappointed in this property. We stayed there two years ago and it was clean, bright and the gardens were beautiful. The light in the bathroom was burned out, paint chipping in the room and the hallway, the second floor balcony was all chipping tile and chandelier dusty with cob webs. The flower gardens were mostly weeds. So disappointing.

Although the hotel is well-maintained, it shows its age in some areas. Nonetheless, the room was excellent - clean, quiet, and well-turned out. A short drive/walk to restaurants, shops, etc. The staff were efficient and most helpful. Breakfast was basic, but it hit the spot. All-in-all, and excellent stay.

When we arrived we were upgraded to a suite, which was great. When we entered and found the room wasn’t cleaned yet. To the surprise of the front desk. We were given another room, and the hvac system was loud and clanky unfortunately there was nothing more they could do, as there was no other rooms available. 50% of the rooms are under renovations now. The hotel in general is run down and in bad need of upgrades. The grounds outside are all overgrown and in rough shape

Convenient location, and allows pets, which was a must for us. Clean and quiet with friendly and helpful staff. The door to our room could really use some oil though. We left at 6:30am and were afraid the loud squeaking of our door opening and closing would wake up everyone else around us.

I stayed at this hotel when it opened in year 2000. It is still decorated the same. Looks quite run down. The staff said it was being renovated. I hope they do that because it was a lovely boutique hotel to stay at in the past.

The room was not cleaned leftover food in fridge from previous rental ,toilet broken & full no maintenanceon site front desk attendant brought my wife a plunger for her to unclog someone elses mess ,garbage not emptied, shower not cleaned table sticky, hand prints on windows.

The rooms were very clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. They had a elevator to get to the different floors, so if someone was handicapped you could stay here easily. The pool was small bit warm and clean. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was good. I will certainly be staying here again when we travel to Orillia.

Fantastic staff very professional. clean rooms. Manger went out of his to make sure we were satisfied. As one room not up to standard and no hassle az we had 3 room. The breakfast area clean well maintained. And they open up the hall for over flow. Recommend the stone gate for any one who want to stay in orrilla there is 3 spots for handy cap parking right at the front. There also fresh mart. Grocery story next door. Easy access from hay 12 anx hwy 11 to yhe stone gate

Had to wait for room to be ready. Wasn't told when it was ready so finally i asked about it and was told that yes it was ready but I hadn't been told. There was a change in person working front desk so it was lack of communication.
When we went to our room we had to leave immediately as the food odour smell was so strong that we couldn't stay. Was told that they could clean the room again but am sure that the smell would still be there. Was told that people didn't cook in the rooms but obviously someone did. Finally got changed to another room but it wasn't ready yet so had to wait again.
Have never had this kind of problem before but we were not impressed. Can't believe that the cleaning staff wouldn't know that the room smelt bad.

The bed was very comfortable, check in was quick and easy. Only issue was the breakfast was not great. Others had stated it was the best hotel breakfast in town. It consisted of watery scrambled eggs and dry pastries. The coffee was good though. We would stay here again but perhaps skip the breakfast.

The Inn is conveniently located next door to a Foodland so meal and snack options are opened up for guests. The kitchen was clean, had working sink, microwave, mini-fridge, cups, plates and cutlery for two. The room had a Kerig coffee machine with four coffee pods, tea and sugar for two. Our machine produced a very weak cup of coffee. The room had a fireplace but no jet tub (as I had thought I booked). The breakfast area was bright with plenty of seating at the round tables. Coffee, tea an assortment of pastries, mini muffins, cold cereals and fruit was available buffet style.
The only real disappointment with this Inn was the view. It doesn't have any property around it at all so the view is of the parking lot and street. Perhaps the reason they have a small indoor pool area on the main floor beside the breakfast area. Otherwise, the accommodations were very good and well worth another stay if back in the area.

We have stayed at Stone Gate a number of times over the years. First the positive, comfortable bed and there is a nice breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately the first room we got, a 8" chunk of plaster had fallen from the ceiling by the bed, and there was another chunk ready to fall. The next room we got was an upgrade, but there were bits of plaster stuck to the bathroom floor and both lights in the vanity area did not work. (The light in the shower/toilet area worked). We hope Stone Gate will maintain the property as we like going there, but may look at other properties if we are going to Orillia again.

Check-in was quick and hassle-free, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The bed was comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep. I was also impressed with how clean the washroom and bathtub were.
I really loved having the kitchenette—it came with basic utensils like plates, cups, spoons, and forks, which was very convenient. The location is excellent as well, right beside a Foodland retail store and close to Cochiching Beach. It was also very easy to find.
Breakfast was great and a nice bonus to start the day. Overall, a comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.
