We have stayed at Stone Gate a number of times over the years. First the positive, comfortable bed and there is a nice breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately the first room we got, a 8\" chunk of plaster had fallen from the ceiling by the bed, and there was another chunk ready to fall. The next room we got was an upgrade, but there were bits of plaster stuck to the bathroom floor and both lights in the vanity area did not work. (The light in the shower/toilet area worked). We hope Stone Gate will maintain the property as we like going there, but may look at other properties if we are going to Orillia again.

Check-in was quick and hassle-free, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The bed was comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep. I was also impressed with how clean the washroom and bathtub were.
I really loved having the kitchenette—it came with basic utensils like plates, cups, spoons, and forks, which was very convenient. The location is excellent as well, right beside a Foodland retail store and close to Cochiching Beach. It was also very easy to find.
Breakfast was great and a nice bonus to start the day. Overall, a comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.

I booked a night at Stone Gate because it advertised a private hot tub, bath robe, breakfast. When I arrived we were told they havnt had hot tubs in years nor do you get a bath robe, we were very disappointed and because I booked through Expedia there was nothing they could do. I even tried to pay the difference to get a better room and they wouldn’t do it. We stayed because I had already paid online, the room was ok and breakfast was fresh. I probably won’t go back again. 😟

This hotel was a terrific value and I would 100% come back here again. Our room was clean and spacious with comfortable beds, everything in good working order. Located on a quiet street, but in easy proximity to downtown Orillia, the casino, etc. There is no on-site restaurant, but they offer a standard continental breakfast, coffee and tea in your room, and the location is immediately next to a grocery store where we could get snacks, beer, etc. Staff on the phone and at the desk were very friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for a fancy pool or something this is probably not what you’re after, but if you principally are looking for a great value for a hotel stay, this place is is terrific.

Arrived at my first room to see the door open and had to slam it fairly hard to close it. The bathroom floor was wet and not clean. tried to dry the water a bit with the floor towel and it was not clean water.
Staff was very helpful and gave me another room right away which was very clean. Beds are definitely on the softer side.

There are areas under construction and they are doing a great job of keeping areas clean while doing facelift repairs. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was typical but all the food was fresh and I grabbed some extra oranges for my room. I would stay here again!

We were disappointed that we booked rooms side by side so that we could help with our grandchildren and we even called the day before to confirm that we had side by side rooms and were told yes. We arrived the following day and we were on different floors which made it very difficult to help out and made several trips up and down to our rooms. Not at all happy with this

I thought I booked a room on Expedia with the in room jacuzzi but apparently not. I had to upgrade at check in for $70. Anyway the jacuzzi was great, water pressure filled it fast. The jets are loud. A couple dislodged tiles.
Breakfast was continental, nothing special. Real drip coffee, not keurig at breakfast. In room coffee was keurig.
There are some renovations being done, no noise when we were there.

The hotel was very comfortable and while it is a bit dated, everything was clean and in good working order. The website says they have a hot tub but unfortunately it is no longer there. The pool is very small but good for kids. The breakfast was surprisingly good with lots of options and even a hot option of scrambled eggs. Very homey feeling and the staff (especially the night desk man) was very helpful and accommodating. Not the fanciest place, but I would certainly be happy to stay here again.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past, but unfortunately this experience was extremely disappointing. I’m not sure if there are new owners or management, but based on this stay, we would not return.

The hallways and rooms were uncomfortably hot, even when the thermostat was set to the lowest temperature. It made it very difficult to sleep. To make matters worse, the fire alarm went off around 10:15 p.m., and there was absolutely no communication from staff about what was happening or whether guests were safe.

Parking is extremely limited, which was frustrating. We also noticed construction around the hotel that was not disclosed at the time of booking. When I contacted Expedia, they called the hotel directly, and the front desk staff claimed there was no construction happening — which was simply not true. I wish I could upload the photos as proof. There was water leaking from the roof of the 4th floor causing tile and wall damage.

Additionally, do not expect housekeeping service. We stayed for two nights and did not receive any cleaning service, fresh towels, or basic room refresh.

Overall, this stay was very disappointing compared to our previous visits.

We went to use the pool and the water was too cold to go in. We like to book at stone Gate so we can go in the pool. And we had no hot water in our room for a bath or shower.
Also they are doing renovations and its a real mess walking on the second floor drywall dust all over the place, they could at least vacuum the carpets Dailey . We did like staying there and we have many times before. But we may look elsewhere from no on.
