This was a quick, one-night stay after returning from a trip. Upon entering the hallway, there was a strong smell of cigarettes and other musty odors. The keypad to the room door barely worked, and it took several minutes to get it open. The hotel rooms themselves were in poor condition—when I pulled out a chair to hang my coat, a piece of the desk was broken off and just lying on the chair. Thankfully, no one sat on it. I’m grateful this was only a one-night stay, as I would not recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately the toilet in the room did not flush. The handle was broken. It was not fixed and I was told on check out when I told them again that it was a busy weekend and they could not get it looked at.

The breakfast also left a bit to be desired. Literally just bread and bagels. There was a toaster. Some coffee and orange juice as well.

The accommodation was old, dirty, smelly and dilapidated. Sink tap not working properly, microwave glass broken heat thermostat broken, freezer built up ice, floor dirty, lamp broken, tv did not work and phone broken and not hooked up, carpets filthy. We got ripped off. Disgusting. Not happy at all. Should b shut down.

I agree with most of the other reviews where people compliment the staff of the Econo Lodge for their friendliness and attention. They are the best part of the stay.
It would appear the hotel is giving itself up to being a long term stay facility. There seemed to be a dog in every room.
Once you get past the lobby, the whole building is very run down. Our room leaked fluids from the ceiling.
Peeling paint. Chewed up doors.
If you are in town for an overnight stay, I'd advise you to go somewhere else.

No heater , no comfy blanket , no water bottles in the room . Very old motel , need renovation & need new stuff . Should have less 90bucks or else I suggest try & explore better hotels . Night staff person was good but he helped a lot find a better room for stay with fine heat .

The rooms are decent but the smell of cleaning chemicals was prevalent and a bit strong.

Also the lady tried to yell at me and throw me out of the hotel for sitting on the arm of the couch that was in the lobby. She had no uniform and was being loud and almost aggressive towards me. i

was booked for a event, now mind you when events happen the room rates go up too, but over all, was happy with the room, it filled our needs to a T. And may I add, the resturant accross the Street \"Theo's\" is the best in Orillia. But Getting back to Hotel/Motel, if your not looking for a 5 star place, and you want a clean comfortable place to stay, I would recommend.

The rooms are clearly dated. The area outside our room was a mess with garbage all around. It almost looked like wellfare people were living there. The walls are paper thin as are the windows.

A huge overhaul is necessary and I would not return. The only saving grace was the young girl who checked us in, although she's not responsible for the maintenance and upgrades needed to make this a \"hotel\" again. Somewhat disappointing, expected a little more

The staff was welcoming and accommodating to us when we checked in and out. However, the room is in desperate need of renovating. The hall door has a serious issue with out of alignment and took a vigorous push to open. The carpet was pulling away from the wall and coming apart along the edges. I have never seen an extension cord that is plugged into the wall and run behind the carpet baseboard. I believe that alone constitutes a fire hazard. The wallpaper was coming away at the seams and there were very poor repairs made where pictures had been hung and the plaster work above the bathroom sink. The occasional chair beside the bed was filthy and the seam along the arm was threadbare. I have no idea what the stuffing in the pillows was, but very lumpy. However, the bathroom was clean.

When I booked the room, it said it comes with a continental breakfast when in actuality there was only bread/bagel, coffee and juice. When I complained at the front desk she said it’s an express continental breakfast.

Still Google what an actual express continental breakfast is:
Beverages: Coffee, tea, milk, and fruit juice.
Baked Goods: Bread, muffins, bagels, croissants, and pastries.
Fruits: Fresh fruit or yogurt with fruit.
Cereals: Cold cereals with milk.
Spreads: Butter, jam, or jelly.

Also I had booked a room for 2 people and there was only one bath towel.
I already didn’t expect much but those things should be included.

The location is good, sort of the middle of everything. The room door was a little sticky which required using the card two or three times before success. The continental breakfast could be somewhat improved. Bananas and oranges for fruit and perhaps orange and apple juice. The day I was there was only one glass of juice in the pitcher and no came in to put on more coffee. One of the guests actually made another pot

The lady at the front desk that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The mattresses made terrible noise and you could feel every spring in them. They felt as though they needed to be replaced 10 years ago. The bathtub was a bath fitter situation that actually had give under my feet! Very depressing room overall. Also the heating cooling system was very dirty and dusty and needed a good cleaning.

Me and my friend came to stay for 3 days for boots and hearts! It was an easy drive back and forth to locations.

When you went into the room The beds looked awful, sheets did not fit. half the sheet o n the floor. The staff were ready to listen New owners and I don't think the staff know how to make a bed. No TV Converter, after three tries the staff found us one that worked. Outside grounds and garbage were not very inviting.

Property is in serious decline. Room smelled bad, rug so dirty it stained socks and very worn, lamp shades stained and cracked, walls not painted and repairs not finished, TV not working properly. Pillows for bed are of such poor quality, and felt like you did not have one. Poor fit of bed sheet as it did not cover to bottom of mattress. Toilet area not cleaned well.
