Dining room staff friendly and helpful. Rep less so. Could do with a spruce up and I questioned how room service worked with no phone in the room. Shower screen didn’t fit over bath so was hard to shower without flooding the bathroom. Very squeaky bathroom door. Good location though & nice bar area. Food ok but not much variety. For a Radisson in a country where you can’t drink the tap water I would have expected drinking water to be provided for free in the room. Fine overall but nothing special.

Fabulous position overlooking St Julian's bay and the marina and from the outside, the hotel looks very classy. Inside however is a different story. The hotel is let down by the dull and basic furnishings, the ongoing issues with the lifts (only one decent lift working) and one in a state of disrepair and blocked off. The working one was very slow and I'd have hate to be using them in high season. The staff lacked basic communication skills and looked miserable, although the lady who cleaned our room and spoke no English had a lovely smile. The bathroom was very small for a superior room, with a walk in shower which was very temperamental in getting the temperature right. Views from our room were amazing and about the best part. We didnt use the pools, as outdoor was too cold (December) and indoor was very underwhelming. Breakfast was plentiful, with a good selection of hot/cold but the plastic chairs again gave a very basic feel to the dining area. The patio doors were very stiff and difficult to open/close. The air con in the room did not work. Room safe required swiping of a card and the condiments in the room were very sparce. Overall, its rated as 4 star for the facilities but did not have the feel of a 4 star, more 3. Disappointing but did the job for a 2 night stay. Don't think I'd return.

We had a marina view room but could still see the sea. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Food was really good.
We unfortunately had an adjoining room and our neighbours weren’t quiet! The door between the two rooms was ill fitting and offered no sound protection. Better sound proofing would be good.

Indoor pool very small and shallow but nice in the winter time.

Room wasnt cleaned or maintained well. Bathroom was particularly worn and poorly laid out. Brought a marina view package and was on the opposite side of the building with a view of the carpark mostly hardly any of the marina. Felt the room wasnt also cleaned well throughout the stay also a lack of a woking air conditioning leading me to using the balcony sliding door to regulate the temperature. Issue with that is i have no suffered mosquito bites as a consequence. Food was a 5/10 of 10 felt more of a service with the bar and other restaurant on location. Which is why the score is average as I had my best time and meal there of the stay

Bathroom - add face towel, body lotion. Upgrade the shower control -its difficult to control the temperature of the water, it's either too cold or too hot.

Bedroom - fix the air conditioner - it's too cold!
Elevator - too small for our group of 52 pilgrims

Breakfast is great! Improve this with offering white rice and fish - fried or grilled or steamed fresh fish.

Out stay was brilliant but they are currently refurbing the rooms. We were in an older style room, the bedroom was pretty good but the bathroom was very dated and basic...All still good and clean though. Staff very helpful, breakfast excellent and pool area with indoor and outdoor pools was lovely. Great location, was made by having a seaview. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Fantastic location and view. This hotel is ideal for a short stay break. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and received a bottle of wine from the hotel which was a touch of class. Breakfast was very good and the pool area was immaculate.

Room; main door broken, balcony door unlockable, air conditioning inoperative, floor surface lifting and damp,lighting units inoperative, curtains threadbare and torn, blown double glazed units in balcony's doors. Restaurant; like a building site with unfinished ceiling throughout, exposed wiring and air-conditioning ducts, cheap,noisy furnishing. Lifts; 1 serviceable lift servicing 400 plus rooms on 7 floors, that got stuck 3 times, old lift shaft covered by plywood nailed to wall. Security; local youths accessing hotel grounds by climbing over wall unchallenged, had to constantly watch possessions whilst in pool.

amazing breakfast options including gluten free , cooked, sweet pastries and lovely staff all round - specifically a friendly chef in the restaurant area who advised of us places to go (unfortunately can’t remember his name!) They let us check in earlier and prioritised our room getting cleaned to do so. Also stored our luggage for early check in and also on our last day which was super helpful and convenient. They provide towels for sunbeds and cleaning/ room service was spotless no issues. The only issue we ran into was our room door wouldn’t lock but they fixed this very quickly on the same day. Also there’s a safe in the rooms for valuables. The rooms and beds are large and great size balcony comes with a mini fridge. The only feedback I’d say is the bottom of our bathroom door was water damaged from where water leaks out from the walk in shower, so it didn’t close properly! But apart from that the bathroom was great, towels can be replaced daily and no major concerns :)

The 1 start review is for the Manager on duty, between Aug 20th and Aug 22nd, 2025, when I stayed here. I checked in around 14:00, and as a Expedia Platinum member for years, I thought I get some good service and a good room, which most hotels I stay at around the world provides. But no, not here. I got a room on the first floor right above the lobby facing the street where the taxis drop off. Tried to take a late afternoon nap because I was jet lagged but couldn't due to the noice. Went down to request a room change from the front desk staff, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager refused to come out to speak to me. I went 3 times that same day, to request another room and to speak to the manger, each time, the staff went to the back office and came back, the manager was busy. Also did the same on the second day, Aug 21st, but no, the manager too busy. Absolute terrible customer service. If the manager doesn't dare to face its paying customers, perhaps the hospitality industry is not for you. I hope your boss will read this and send you back to the mailroom where you belong. For the room, they are old, cheap small sheets that don't even cover the bed, so you wake up touching the old mattress. Super old wooden closet, where the door was broken. The pool is nice, the restaurant food was very basic and bland without flavor. Big plus however for a very impressive breakfast buffet. The hotel is in a good area, also a good plus. Honest review this.

Breakfast choices are plenty and food is good. Staffs are very helpful. Room is clean. The best part for our stay is you can comfortably lounging around by the swimming pool all day, and have a dip into the sea whenever you like.

Lovely hotel in a quieter part of St Julian’s but still a walking distance to all the amenities, restaurants cafes and shops. Our room had an amazing view over the marina which is part of Portomaso area (highly recommend visiting). We had a refurbished room on 6th floor which was spacious and cleaned daily apart from the first couple of days when cleaning was not done and we had to ask the cleaning ladies to give us fresh towels and empty the bins (not sure what the initial issue was but once sorted room was always cleaned). Breakfast was lovely with lots of options for cold and hot meals including a selection of fruit and pastries which they used to change every day or so. Also there was a chef making omelets with different fillings on request. Reception staff was very helpful and friendly, gave us tips and suggestions. The lifts are super hot and small so sometimes you need to wait for another one as it was already packed. The views from the pool area over the bay were great and my son also enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool a lot as the main pool outside had salty sea water which irritated his skin. We had a couple of noisy smoking music playing neighbours on our floor but that’s not the hotels fault as this area attracts many young visitors who come to Julian’s to experience it’s night life and come back to their rooms in early hours feeling merry. If you want a really quiet break I would not recommend staying here. Overall a great hotel, would stay again!

I personally prefer Sliema to stay in Malta as it is a bit quieter. If you are looking to be in amongst the night life this is a great place to stay as it is in the heart of st Julian’s

The property is fine and with great views across the bay. The main disappointment is how basic the room was. There was no bedside furniture so watches, glasses, phones etc had to sit on the floor. The wardrobes were open with no doors and one side of it even had no shelves or rail so was useless for anything. Even the bathroom had nowhere to put the soap other than leave it in the sink. The large shower cubicle with the open end looked trendyuntil you used it and the water slowly flooded the room. We then realised why the bottom of the bathroom door was black and warped! Definitely at best a three star hotel.

Hotel is definetly not a 4 star standard, food is very bland, cleaning is quite a poor standard depending who is on shift, sometimes cleaner would fold your dirty towel!! I do belive hotel would be great once small changes are made and refurbishment is undertaken.

The location is great on the other side! Close to nighlife and many restaurants, Silema is great you can get there by walking down the shore or getting a 10 min cab, definetly visit Hugo lounge for food and drinks!! Miam!!

The hotel has a great appearance, with a pleasant bar and restaurant. We've stayed before and I have no doubt we will return to the Cavalieri again.

We enjoyed staying at Cavalieri Art Hotel very much. The staff is very kind and devoted and any question/problem is answered immediately. Our room was big and very clean with sea view and the location is perfect for getting anywhere in the island by public transportation and there are many good restaurants around but the hotel itself is away from any street noise. Breakfast was a feast. Big selection of food, new things every day, all fresh and tasty. It is the optimal hotel for the price. We don't have any complaintand everything is good. Highly recommended for a pleasant stay.

Three star hotel rather than four.

The hotel is in a great location with the best view of Spinola Bay. However I complained about the heating in the room. It was very very hot in the room despite the 20°C outside. It was sweltering and uncomfortable to sleep. Also the outdoor pool was undergoing construction works, with ongoing plant noise for a number of hours. This was not notified prior to visit.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel in a large room with a balcony and sea view. All the room facilities were good and the pool area had lots of sunbeds and pool towels were provided. The food at breakfast was varied and good and the service always pleasant. The only negative was the lifts which were jerky and the doors did not always close.

We had a fantastic break in this hotel . It was spotless staff were very friendly . Food options value and service were excellent at breakfast and lunch. Brilliant happy hour in bar in evenings. Room were very big defo upgrade to a sea view if you can . Spotless everywhere.
Only downside like everyone else says is the atricious AC isnt cold enough when temps are 34 degrees and 80% humidity.
I loved the pool area and fact you could jump into sea.
I would return but in a cooler time of year so the AC isnt an issue .
Lifts didnt work some days either.
We had no issue with key card but needs to be inserted with black magnetic strip towards floor and on right side and dont put in your bag with other cards
Its in a great location away from the busy bars but close to walk and lovely restaurants within 5 mins .

Overall the stay was good. However the air-conditioning stopped working on day 2 and the rooms were very hot. Temperature in the room was 28 degrees. Even after it was fixed the rooms were relatively warm at night which made sleeping uncomfortable.

An oasis in the hustle and bustle of St Julian's

Hotel bookings based on website information and photographs can lead to disappointment but, on this occasion, expectations were exceeded. From the buffet breakfast through to a nightcap in the bar, facilities and service were top quality. Two outside pools and one inside provided fun and relaxation and there was the added bonus of easy access to the sea. The location would be difficult to improve upon, with bars and restaurants just minutes away while the hotel itself was relatively peaceful.

Hotel staff were brilliant, really accommodating and quick to resolve any issues with room etc. area is perfect for a holiday, with an amazing sea and waterfront view from family room. Great size balcony too. The only issue was air con didn’t work in room, so we were offered different options and went with the room next door as we loved the view and size. Unfortunately the air con was playing up on the entire floor so it was still too hot at night. The hotel did provide a very powerful fan and that helped address the issue. The location is a couple of minutes walk from the loveliest restaurants and the most gorgeous views. A wonderful stay. We would definitely stay at this hotel if we returned to Malta.

Room had been nicely renovated and were super basic. The view from the room was amazing and it had a balcony. Can’t beat the location and pool with access to the bay. Breakfast exceeded my expectations including an egg chef - Sakawait!
Downside lifts very slow and hallway unrenovated (but you don’t spend much time in the hallway anyway). I would definitely stay here again. Excellent sushi place at the end of the street!

Having visited Malta for the first time back in 2019 staying at the Cavallieri. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to book again for this year staying 14 days as opposed to 10 days previously. Having just returned home I can honestly say our stay was even better than previous. In addition to the unbeatable & beautiful location of the Cavallieri. The hotel has undergone a more contemporary refurb since we last visited, which definitely warrants at least 4 stars. The rooms are modern & spacious & views to die for if you're bay/sea facing. Air con is very comfortable throughout the night but could do with being a little more powerful through the day/evening. Especially if your spending time getting showered & dressed to go out. All hotel staff were amazing, including reception, bar/ restaurant, poolside & cleaning staff. Give them a smile & be courteous & you get so much back. Alex in the bar & poolside works tirelessly in maintaining the standards of the hotel. But the same applies to each staff member especially in the bar on an evening serving 2 4 1 cocktails between 6 & 8pm, & the food is delicious whether poolside or in an evening. Just a final recommendation, it would be great to see the upper level of the bathing area being returned to adults only bathing. Could even put a pop up bar on there. As it stands it is just an empty space which is a shame considering the views. Well done & keep up the good work. Cannot wait to return!

This is a very nice modern hotel in a great location. Very strongly recommend getting room with sea view as the bay is lovely.
The rooms were very nice but my only negative was the very small bathrooms where everything has been packed in with no real thought of comfort or practicality for using the toilet. Also the showers were very tempramental, running either to hot or cold when you turn the tap even the slightest.
If they could improve the bathrooms i would give this a perfect score.
Also to note, I didn't eat anything in the hotel other than breakfast which was nice.

The location is the best in Malta as it is in front of the sea but also in the hard of the tourism area and you can go anywhere by walk. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Malta.

3star hotel masquerading as a 4star

Restaurant service was patchy and was almost non-existent after 20.45! The menu was very ordinary and twice the meat dishes were very tough and uninteresting. The lift buttons were often unlit when pressed. The air conditioning didn’t seem to be working! The breakfast buffet was very good but the “hot food” needs to be hot not lukewarm. The coffee from the self service machine was tasteless.

Beautiful hotel on the bay, rooms cleaned daily, bar prices very good and food was lovely too. Spa & hairdressers on site (my first time) on using both, well worth the extra money. Close to local restaurants and bars. Self serving breakfast which catered for all. Second time here and will be back.

Night from hell.

Just last weekend I reviewed this hotel 10/10. And booked several weekends in the near future fir my family includibg two young kids. However this weekend experience (2nd time at hotel) was a terrible one. Our floor was littered with rowdy drunken teens apparently booked x3 rooms and partied all night in rooms next door and hotel did little to nothing to solve the issue. The best they did was offer to have my family separated into two separate rooms at 2300 at night. Seriously?! I didn't oack at leave as it was too late a night to pack with kids. At check out we we were told they knew about the problem and could not do anything about it. Clear management issue who failed to accommodate our family and others and ended up having to deal with a rowdy party all night till sunrise, frustrated guests banging on culprit doors at 3am infuriated as they couldn't sleep.
NEVER AGAIN. JUSTCancelled another booking for Feb. Pity such investment is managed by the incompetent.

Great experience

I visited this hotel on the 15Jan and 22Jan. The 15Jan was an exceptional 10/10 experience and booked again the following weekend. As reviewed in my other review this experience was unpleasant and in my opinion was a management issue.
Since then Management reached out hours after checking out, clearly concerned about my experience and assured me as a guest that situation was an \"exception\" that should have not occurred. I'm glad the aftermath was dealt with in a professional way by Front office manager and look forward to re-living the 10/10 experience that this hotel offered me on my previous stay. Picturesquely, conveniently, but quietly situated for all the options in St. Julian's. Room spacious and bed comfortable. Nice sea view from balcony. Shower room surprisingly small. Furniture IKEA-ish. Street parking. Good breakfast - pleasant room. Great value for money.

Amazing hotel! The nicest one that we saw in the area. I wish we could have came in the summer and used the pool. Even in November we had some sunny days where we could still lay out. We also had breakfast included which was nice. Bus stop is Russ to Valleta and not that far of a walk.

I've stayed her before without issue.
Two problems this stay.
First, they have an earlier checkout time - 11 am paired with a 10 euro \"late check out fee\" if you stay after that time. Basically a cheap \"gotcha\" ploy. Please have a normal checkout time with a courtesy extension at least to 1 pm.
Second, they charge 1 euro per anti-covid mask for hotel guests. The cheap flimsy ones. Yet of course masks are mandatory. Seems like another example of weird cheapness given that we are paying full market rates for rooms.
Other than that, no complaints. The people there are nice. The water view is great.

My husband and I spend a 1 night stay in this Hotel .Check in was very fast,and first impression was very good,staff helpful,and it was very clean.
We were given 7 th floor and the view from our balcony was amazing.
Room also vas very clean and we had every thing we needed
Ensuit is a bit small,not so much space between toilet and wash hand basin,but for us was not a problem .
Breakfast was also very good with lot of variety to choose from.
The only thing that upset me was that were no Maltese channels available on TV.Otherwise everything was great

Hotel fab, staff not so much.

Hotel is fab, reception staff are lovely. Bar and restaurant staff are shocking. They were arguing and giving out to each other, very unprofessional. Our food took nearly two hours one night to come and came separately. I’d mine long finished by time my boyfriends came. People across from us there’s came in five different batches, was a disgrace. Ordering drinks took so long, we started ordering them when we were half way through our drink and we were still waiting and would normally need to reask the staff. Food was cold when it arrived. Staff is also rude, not kind or polite or friendly in slightest. Hotel is let down by restaurant/bar.

Definitely not a 4* hotel

Overall, a pretty average stay. The staff were not helpful at all and seemed to know very little about the hotel. The pictures are deceiving and make it look much nicer than it actually is. The rooms aren’t in the best condition and they feel a little dated. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the shower was either unbearably hot or freezing cold. Breakfast was not okay but definitely not what you’d expect for a 4 star hotel. One redeeming point was the location which was was very good, but won’t be returning.

Fab stay just some pointers.

We had a great stay in this beautiful hotel. Our room was fab, the accommodation staff were great and the location was perfect.
The hotel is beautiful but the standard of service provided by staff at reception and at breakfast did not live up to the standard of the hotel. Breakfast was only OK but the whole set up was disorganised and chaotic.
One evening there was a security guard by the pool who was extremely rude to us as we returned to our room.

Sterile, but comfortable

A very sterile hotel lacking in character but clean and comfortable. The service in the bar was very poor - we walked out twice because we couldn't get served, despite it not being particularly busy. Breakfast was good but tables weren't cleared and cleaned quick enough. The bedroom was comfortable with a lovely view of the marina. The bathroom is extremely small and the shower a ridiculous design which resulted in the bathroom flooding after every shower! The pool area and swimming pool was lovely and the location of the hotel was excellent. Would I stay here again? Probably not, but I probably wouldn't visit Malta again either!

Hotel was ok. Beds comfortable and room service food good quality. The pool area was a bit rundown. Hotel staff English wasn’t very good. Rooms are very noisey (walls are thin so can hear the room above as well as rooms either side). The hotel is down a side street so cut off from local amenities. But nice to have a pool and sea access.

Fantastic location. Hotel a little tired but a program of refurbished ongoing. Room servicing slow most of the time. Sometimes not till 17.00 causing delay to getting ready for dinner. Need more staff. One “trainee”reception staff member clueless. Buffet style restaurant service at breakfast and dinner uninspired but lots of fantastic restaurants just outside the hotel. All in all a great hotel for its location and we would be happy to return.

Brilliant location at the end of Spinola Bay and next to good quality bars and restaurants. The view from our sea view room was gorgeous. The room was large but the bathroom was small in comparison and the bedroom was very poorly lit with only 2 dim overhead lights and 2 reading lights meaning it was difficult to get ready in the dark. TV station selection was very poor however internet was excellent and fast. Breakfast was mediocre. Cheap processed ham and cheese, hot food was dry and tasteless and the bread was not fresh. Happy hour for cocktails was great 6-7 every night. All in all a very pleasant stay.
