Absolute heaven. Stayed here with my husband for our anniversary- we had the most wonderful time, everything was perfect.
The Cala Fornells team are all very friendly, approachable and provided exceptional customer service.
The seaview from our room was beautiful- what a brilliant start to the day.
We would very happily return, and highly recommend to anyone thinking about booking this hotel.

We had an amazing room facing the sea. The room was very clean and well equipped - The view was idyllic. The reception staff welcomed us and also upgraded our room. They have a good gym and indoor pool on site.

The Rooftop pool has got far reaching views of the sea. A great bar that also gave us free bubbly, it’s a great option if the beach gets busy...

Food in the restaurant was amazing and worth going for. They clear cook with passion.

The hotel itself is not modern but very well kept and takes you back in time- has a timeless feel that helps one relax more.

Relaxing stay

Great hotel with a lovely beach and also a nice pool area. Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and staff were very friendly.

The hotel is quite a walk (15-20 mins) from any shop or hotel so that is something to consider if you intend to stay. Things like water and drinks are also expensive if you are going to buy everything at the hotel.

Sweet almost old fashioned hotel with a lovely beach and very tranquil pool on the roof top with the best service by the pool - all waiters were amazing over the days we’ve stayed, which can’t be said for the service on the front of the hotel. Reception was excellent as well! We had the best time. Had a room with sea view well worth it.

Very enjoyable stay. Lovely breakfast & very nice people at reception & in restersunt for BF . However, We had a Small room & could hear our neighbour every morning at 6am with the tv on. Tv might as well be in our room.
Service on the terrace could be slow & absent at times.

Peaceful seaside retreat

We loved the view and the ambiance of the location. This is a very classy and elevated part of the island. The beach in front of the hotel is small, but stunning. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the excellent customer service. The parking was full and we had to park in a dirt parking lot in the forest, which was kind of stressful. We really regretted not staying here longer!

Excellent hotel full of classic European charm and service but in great condition with lots of modern touches. Perfect location, beautiful views, all the staff are helpful, friendly and informative about the facilities of the hotel and the local area, great rooftop pool with panoramic views over the bay below and a drink and snack bar menu to your lounger, there’s also an excellent breakfast every morning. The rooms all have balconies and the stunning view you can find from every window of the hotel. 10/10 for us we will definitely be back.

Stunning beach, fantastic service

Stunning location, exceptional service, an absolute gem! We had a super relaxing late summer holiday.

The only shame is the food really isn’t great but shouldn’t stop you from visiting - you can get better food at hotel petit cala fornells next door or take a €5 cab / get pretty 30min walk in through the pine forest over to camp el mar to the stunning illeta restaurant for amazing food.

Amazing views from balcony and pool on top floor. Clean room and comfortable bed but air extractor in bathroom was poor and fridge was very inefficient and generated too much heat. Parking can be tricky and breakfast is only average. Location right by beach was perfect and great if you like to snorkel.

nice place for enjoying silence in October

Nice place with good atmosphere, big rooms, private beach and crystal clean water! Great breakfast. Enough parking space. The only funny thing was bathroom equipment: we had a renovated room, but there were no Hooks to put the towel or bathrobe on! Also an open bathroom area is not convenient for me. I prefer a door.

Scenic location but needs attention

Hotel has a very scenic location but in need of a general upgrade. Room access is still with a flimsy key you have to pick up in reception, room fridge did not work and a kettle for coffee/tea would be nice. Roof Pool closed at 6pm, indoor pool did not appear clean, gym without AC. Breakfast buffet OK but we were advised by other guests to disregard the restaurant completely.

I had many amazing hotel experiences while traveling to Germany and Mallorca. This place was disappointing. I did like the waitstaff on the patio and the man at the front desk (I didn’t get his name but I think he was French) during the day but the rest of the place is not good. The dinner staff made me feel unwelcome, the rooms were paper walls and in need of updating, the pool, hot tub and sauna weren’t working, and it was a weird vibe with the guests. The setting is great but there are so many other great settings in Mallorca for the same or less money. Won’t stay here again and am surprised by the positive reviews. To shed light, I’m 42 years old and a single female from USA so it may just be my demographic that it doesn’t appeal to.

Lovely hotel by beach with sun loungers roof pool

This is a lovely hotel very clean tidy, lovely food available from hotel restaurant that has terrace overlooking the sea and beach. There is also a patio bar with food overlooking the beach and the beautiful bay.. Great swimming and snorkelling from the beach with is accessible from the hotel across a road that has some traffic but not intrusive.

The hotel staff were wonderful, made us feel really welcome and could not have been more kind friendly and helpful. We were gutted to leave and will definitely go back. It is difficult to find words as to how good all the staff were. we felt very much at home there and very relaxed.

There was a very peaceful roof top pool with loungers umbrelles and a bar, with lovely views over the beach and bay.

Returned again this year. Lovely staff, and a lovely hotel with a personal touch. View is amazing and with the beach a few steps away plus a lovely pool at the hotel, and a minibus that takes you up and down to the town it’s a stress free holiday. You don’t need a hire car either. Second visit still lived up to last years high standard.

Second trip for him. First for me

I chose this hotel because it had a beach. My significant other had wonderful memories about his stay in Pegeura 62 years ago. As a Californian stationed in Nuremberg (during the Korean War) he wanted to see Pegeura again. What a great surprise to find that the Hotel Cala Fornells was the same hotel where he had stayed back in 1955. Unfortunately, we had only one night there, but we met very friendly people, enjoyed the food in the dining room and were very sorry to leave. Service was wonderful and the shuttle from the airport gave us a good chance to see more of the island. Highly recommend this to anyone who might come to Mallorca.

Our AC unit did not work.
Garage is 10 euros per day unless you book your stay directly through the hotel
Breakfast we found satisfactory, but coffee is not great
Indoor swimming pool and sauna do not work in the summer
Gym is also not great
On the positive: beach towels are provided and it is set in a very quiet part
20 min walk to the high street

What a lovely 4 day stay at Cala Fornells.

The hotel has great character, while being kept clean and tidy and providing pretty much everything you need. The room was large and spacious, the bed was HUGE and comfy and the shower was heavenly, I never wanted to get out!
The hotel is in a perfect location if you want somewhere quieter, but never too far from busier areas like Peguera. The hotel ran a free shuttle bus to and from Peguera every few hours, which was very handy! The journey was less than a 5 minute drive. One day we didn't bother using it to get back and decided to walk which only took about 25 mins. From walking we then realised there was a local shop and a couple of restaurants a short journey from the hotel.
The small beach opposite the hotel had plenty of loungers (which you can book in advance but we never did) and the beach was kept very clean. The water was safe to swim in and warm at this time of year!
Food wise the morning and evening buffet was adequate and couldn't really fault it. One thing I found strange though was that they didn't provide any big spoons, so had to eat my cereal with a tea spoon! Service was good but not as fantastic as i'd expected after reading previous reviews. There was one very friendly and smiley bar waiter though!
Only con about this hotel is that there is no entertainment, now i'm not the kind of person that enjoys Butlins style entertainment but no bands, music, bingo etc not even on a Saturday night. All the same a wonderful stay, thank you!

Cala Fornells - August 2017

The hotel is in an amazing location, and the staff for the most part are really friendly. The only issues are the way the private sunbeds on the beach are allocated - it's allowed for rooms to book multiple beds. These are also booked a few days in advance which is highly frustrating when not told how to book. The beds are also really uncomfortable. That said, the location makes up for some of it and the out of room condition of the hotel is very good.

Short break to Cala fornells

We stayed for four nights and it was a lovely restful break. Beach and sea close by so swam everyday, although there was a lovely pool we preferred the sea!
Breakfast buffet was really good with wide choice of dishes, as was the evening meal.
Room was comfortable with good a/c.

One to remember, and return to.

We had stopped for coffee at Calla Fornells over a year ago so when I was looking for a short break in September this was the first place that came to mind because of the fantastic location .....it did not disappoint. We had dinner in the hotel three of the five nights, a good selection, well presented in all we thought good vallue. Many of the guests had returned year after year, we will certainly return.

Hotel Cala Fornells

Excellent location away from the business of Peguera but within easy distance of the larger resort. There is a shuttle bus if you require it which runs four times a day. Pleasant small beach with safe swimming.
The hotel is small by its larger competitors and benefits from this.
Sea views, pretty rooms.
Food in hotel good but there are a few restaurants within walkable distance if you like a change.
We would recommend this hotel and would return ourselves.

This hotel is in a brilliant location. My single room had was small- as expected but balcony was huge with wonderful seaviews. Reception staff were friendly at check- in. One of the waiters out front at the snack area was rude which was disapponting. The biggest problem I had was in my room - a giant red cockroach type insect crawled out air con when I switched it on! I was freaking our Reception a little dismissive at first on phone saying \"it's only an insect then came straight up & I think he was a little scared as well he sprayed it with some noxious liquid I retreated to bathroom. I was scared to turn on air con so they offered me another room which on inspection had a couple of flies & a mozzie! I decided to take my chances with the cockroach & stayed in seaview room. I get it's a hot climate & will be insects but just as I was departing the room there was another one on the floor. I was very happy to leave them behind which is a shame as the room and view were perfect.

Wunderschönes, gemütliches Hotel! Alle Angestellten waren sehr freundlich. Die einzige Negative, das man erwähnen kann ist, dass die Zimmer ziemlich ringhörig sind und neben uns ein Paar mit einem Kleinkind war, das jeweils ab sechs Uhr den ganzen Tag weinte und uns entsprechend um diese Zeit weckte. Wir würden das Hotel jedoch sofort wieder wählen.

Vi har bott många gånger på Bon Sol i Illetas och fick uppfattningen att Cala Fornells skulle vara liknande. Till viss del stämmer detta men man är ändå inte ens nära. Framför allt beror detta på den låga servicenivån samt kvaliteten på middagsmenyn. Hotellet är väl ok men just det som man förväntar sig ska sticka ut i ett mindre hotell som profilerar sig på tradition och kvalitet är det som fallerar. Maten på middagen den kvällen vi åt där var inte ens nära godkänt och när inget annat finns i närheten blir man tvungen att ta bilen till någon resturang på avstånd. Service under lunchen räcker inte till och väntetiderna blir långa. Rummen är ok men att ha stora terrasser/balkonger utan utebelysning, vad är vitsen? Förresten, gratis vatten gäller bara första dygnet! Nej, blir definitivt inget återbesök 😫, Bon Sol nästa gång igen

Un séjour magnifique dans cet établissement à moins de 2h de vol de Paris. Un parfait endroit pour se libérer du stress avec cet hôtel familial les pieds dans l 'eau. De la chambre, du restaurant, du roof top, à la terrasse extérieure, une vue imprenable sur la mer. La plage avec une eau turquoise chaude et limpide à 50 mètres. Un personnel très serviable, réactif et accueillant qui a répondu à nos demandes exceptionnelles.

Un buffet petit-déjeuner très complet.

Le seul regret de voir passer devant de nombreux cars de 48 places pour le très grand hôtel voisin venant déposer souvent que 2 /3 clients (pas très écologique !)

Merci pour ce séjour trop court.

バルコニーからのシービューの部屋に宿泊しました。フロントオーシャンビューで素敵な景色でした。
プライベートビーチでの無料サンベットのレンタルサービスがあり、ゆっくりくつろげました。
朝食も美味しかったです。レイトチェックインしましたが、とてもスムーズでした。
レンタカーを利用しましたが、市街地までの送迎バスのサービスもありました。静かにのんびり過ごしたい人に、おすすめのホテルです。

Sehr schönes und gepflegtes Hotel in der kleinen Bucht Cala Fornells. Am Ende einer Sackgasse gelegen, daher kein störender Durchgangsverkehr. Ich würde es aufgrund der Ausstattung und dem vermittelten Flair vergangener Jahre (das Hotel ist Baujehr 1947) eher in eine gehobene Klasse einstufen. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes, auch deutschsprachiges Personal. Eigene Parkplätze sind hinter dem Hotel in einer abgeschlossenen Anlage vorhanden. Mega Frühstücksbuffet mit toller Auswahl und guter Qualität. Bademöglichkeit in der fast direkt angrenzenden Bucht vorhanden

Fantastiskt hotell med elegant service. Kändes som en svunnen tid som stannat kvar. Lite lurad av fotot där i alla fall vi inte noterade vägen mellan hotell i strand. Hotellet ligger lite avsides, men är perfekt om inte man efterfrågar något mer än ett vackert hotell med anor med egen strand.

Für einen Kurzurlaub sehr zu empfehlen

Das Hotel ist schon etwas älter ist jedoch gepflegt und sehr sauber. Am Frühstücksbuffet ist sicher für jeden etwas dabei und das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Lediglich der Strand ist für einen Badeurlaub ungeeignet. Sehr klein und mit Liegen werden einen Tag vorher an der Rezeption reserviert.

Mysigt och lugnt hotell.

Hotellet är vackert beläget i ett mycket lugnt område precis intill stranden som är blandat med sand och klippor.
Vägen går dock direkt utanför men är inte särskilt traffikerad så stör inte mycket.
Äldre byggnad men rustad och fräsch så inget att klaga på. Parkering kan vara lite besvärligt.
Pool på taket. Inte många restauranger runt hotellet men finns pärlor 15min promenad bort.

Rekommenderas varmt.
