The room we received looked nothing like the pictures. Everything was old and scratched up, could not cast anything to the tv. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was broken,the heater didnt work in the room, (it was cold). The attendant said they dont turn those on until December ?#?#?. The bathroom was very nice; but i am not sleeping there am i. I was extremely disappointed in this property as it did not look anything like the pictures...it reminded me of a truck stop,road side motel.
P.S. The only plus ➕️ was the 5$ breakfast in the morning's, it was very good and the attendant there was stellar 👌 🙌

The room was clean and wonderfully spacious. There was even a lovely small balcony. We also enjoyed the breakfast. However the fridge in the room did not work and though I spoke with staff three times, nothing was ever done, not even a verbal response. Though we enjoyed our room, the building was rundown and unclean. I saw garbage on the floor in the lobby for three of the five days we were there. I even took a photo, if you wish to see it. The walls were dingy and looked as if the place hadn’t been painted in many decades.
Another concern was late arrivals. Two nights we were assisting late arrivals because it was difficult for them to contact any staff to access their rooms. One night we let in a group of seven people to sleep in the reception area because there was no way for them to contact the staff to get into their rooms. No emergency number was provided, and no staff was on the premises. The family got to their rooms in the morning at 6am when the cook arrived to prepare breakfast. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone.

I booked from Expedia website. I paid for breakfast included when I booked hotel. Because i had to pay more when website asked if I want to include breakfast. I click yes. But when stay, the Residenza D'Epoca Palazzo Galletti said NO INCLUDE BREAKFAST. THAT MEANS EXPEDIA CHEATED US. WE PAID MONEY FOR BREAKFAST BUT WE DID NOT HAVE ANY MEALS. THAT IS TERRIBLE MAKE ME DONT WANT USE EXPEDIA IN THE FUTURE TRIP ANY MORE. WHEN I COMPLAIN ABOUT BREAKFAST, THE RECEPTION SAID IF YOU BOOK AT EXPEDIA, YOU CLAIM EXPEDIA. THAT UPSET ME. I PAID FOR THE MEALS BUT I DID GET THE MEALS. NOT FAIR.

I TIRED OF GAME OF EXPEDIA WHICH PLAYS GAME WITH ME. THAT TERRIBLE.

Except the location everything else was bellow average. No night stands, no coffee or tea maker in the facility or in room. They didn’t change our sheets during the five nights stay. Breakfast was awful , they hardly had anything and what they had was terrible. The blanket they provided had hair all over was dirty. No bottled water in the room or the facility.

The only thing good about this hotel is its location to duomo. Otherwise it was dirty, EXTREMELY BAD SMELL (we stayed in Superior Room), fridge did not work, AC did not work, toilet flush intermittent, glass shelf hanging on by thread over toilet, side table cracked. We told the desk about the fridge and AC right away, and we got almost a shoulder shrug. Again on leaving the lady at front desk asked how stay was (a different employee this time) and when we told her our complaints, all that was said was sorry. Just as an added point, expedia emailed us the same night coincidentally to ask how our check in was and I emailed them all our complaints, no response from them either. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN ALL ASPECTS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

We loved our stay in Residenza D’Epoca Pazzo Galletti. The staff were extremely welcoming and walked us to our room and showed us how to use the key, lights and hot water (we have travelled to a few places in Italy during this holiday and no one else provided this attention for us). The rooms are beautiful and bed were very comfy. The location is great, it’s close to restaurants bars and walking distance from the train station. Breakfast was also a lovely addition. 10/10 stay 😊

Historical place in central Florence

Let's call it a true period piece. That's exactly what Residenza d'Epoca means. There is no elevator in this historical building. The hotel occupies the second floor of a larger building pretty much in the center of Florence. Our room was exactly the one pictured in the Hotels.com advertisements. In the room one felt like being transported to an earlier century. The king-size bed was very comfortable and, overall, the room was very spacious. So was the bathroom with shower and European bathtub (long enough and deep enough to take a real bath in, which I thoroughly enjoyed). Some features needed updating like the light fixtures above the sink and the drainage of the sink itself. I am not sure whether I would like to stay in that room during mid-summer since there was no air-conditioning device visible. And without A/C in that huge room, getting a good night's sleep could be a real chore. Still, the room was a reall oddity and, therefore, I did like it very much.

Amazing hotel room with a beautiful terrace.
This is a beautiful hotel with incredible staff.
We were upgraded upon arrival to the most beautiful room with decorative frescoes painted on the walls.
The space was magical and the kindness of the staff made our stay extra special.
Breakfast and the breakfast chef was an added bonus.
We would definitly stay here again.

This is terrible place to stay. Our experience was even worse. The Air conditioner in the room was not working and showed E7 error. The place has strict check in time up to 7pm. The staff provided us with late self check in instructions. We contacted hotel staff through messages but the response was we cannot do anything at this time. The morning staff will support this issue. We kept the window open as it was suffocating with no AC. We didn’t realize that will have mosquitoes through. We had so many mosquito bites in the morning. Overall, horrible place. Run away and don’t stay here.

A big bed, but a very tiny breakfast

Nice location in Santa Croce, but a few things... The room we had (Giove) had a very cool Medici-sleeping chamber vibe, with forced perspective murals on every wall, high ceilings with exposed beams & a large elaborate light fixture hanging down. I make note of the light fixture, as it bounced & wobbled from a large group of children (??) running & tumbling on the floor above, all the way until 7PM. The desk clerk said, \"Oh, that must be the school,\" as if that was a given. There would be an adult shouting, \"Uno, due, tre, PRONT-O-O-O!,\" followed by stomps & thuds across the ceiling.
And, while there was a bed, they must have forgotten the \"breakfast\" part of \"B&B\". The spread consisted of some cheese, some packaged dried-toast. We were offered croissants & coffee, but, it was very poor overall.

Dark and smelly but close to the Duomo

The building is dark and depressing, don’t open the window because the courtyard smells like a sewer. The room is pretty bare and the hot water in the shower takes a very long time to turn on. Also the city tax is 7€/day/person for this type of residence.
Convenient for one night only because it is close to the Duomo.

The receptionist is the best part of this stay. She’s very sweet, kind and helpful in the room is old even though they upgraded the bathroom in our room. The worst part was the sofa bed. It was so uncomfortable, very thin mattress over spring The other bed wasn’t comfortable neither. The building is pretty rundown and the furniture inside the room are old and have broken pieces. There is a bad smell in some areas of the building. Breakfast is OK.

We were there in the summer and the AC was absolutely terrible and we were there with the baby, which made it almost impossible for him or us to sleep. They did not have sufficient cribs available. We had no hot water for the first two nights of our stay. Considering what we paid for the room I would never stay there again or tell anyone I know to stay there. Finally we asked the front staff to call us a taxi so that could make it to the train station the day we checked out and no taxi ever arrived.

Avoid! Bed bugs and broken air con!

Avoid at all costs! This was the worse hotel stay of my life. The air con broke in 35 degree heat and it leaked all in my luggage including my laptop. I also woke up ravaged in bites and so did my friend. The place is swarming with bed bugs. The only decent thing about this hotel is the location. Don’t ruin your trip by staying here.

We booked here on our honeymoon. The property was clearly mis-represented as a hotel causing us to lose over $370 in booking fees:

1. The listing of this hotel on the website is “Hotel D’Epoca Palazzo Galletti”. It is not clear at all from the Hotels.com listing that it is actually a bed and breakfast without amenities, cleanliness, or security.

2. The hotel staff had to call us the day of our arrival and notified us that checkin was from 3-7pm only, and could only be done after hours for ADDITIONAL FEES (not in the listing), unless we were comfortable with using a 4 digit rotary combination lockbox, like a simple bicycle lock. The key to our room was left in the door, with visible access to the other 10+ rooms. No one was available at the property to check us in or make this right upon arrival at 9pm, and no one was reachable by phone either that night, or the next morning by either us or the Hotels.com support staff. When we finally reached someone the next day, we were told that the owner does not work the weekends, and we would need to wait until Monday (after checkout!) for a resolution.

3. The room was dirty, stains on sheets, sofa, dirt on the showerhead. There are 11 different rooms represented on the website. NO ONE was available to make this right on-site. Cancellations must be over a WEEK in advance, or no refund. We were marked by the hotel as a no-show, even though we have email evidence they are lying. Hotels.com refused to help. Buyer beware.

Our room was great, with a large bathroom. The bathtub was long but narrow but was fine with the shower. On our second day, breakfast was great except they served molded slices of bread. The breakfast nook is incredibly small and the tables were so close to each other, there was little room to walk.

Great Hotel with the real Italian appeal.

This hotel is over 100 years old but has been redone but still gives you the feel of old Italy. It is located about 2 streets over from the famous church and tourist areas for shopping,eating and the fun things to do.You have to walk up 3 flights of steps to the lobby since this hotel is too old to have an elevator. The staff is great and very helpful. We had the suite which was nice with high ceiling and an awesome updated marble bathroom with nice tub and shower. We walked from the train station which was not fun with our roller bags and 90 degree weather. Bus #24 does take you from the airport area to where the hotel is located. There is a grocery store down the street that is great if you want to buy food for your stay. This hotel is not fancy like a Marriott or Sheraton like most Americans are use to,but it is a real Italian style room which was pretty cool. Continental breakfast is pretty good which is downstairs in this hotel. The only negative is walking up the 3 flights of stairs after flying many hours and you are pretty tired. I did enjoy my stay at this hotel and would stay there again. Bus #24 is right out the door of this hotel and will take you the train station area when you leave Florence.

The kitchen was super cute in the basement and the breakfast was very tasty.The staircase leading to it was very narrow and authentic to the period it was built. The building was well maintained and a short walking distance to the sights. I loved the mini window in our shower and the super high windows in our room. Our fresco was unfinished but it gave the room a historic look.

Do you love mold?

Only stayed one night in Florence and wanted something close to the Duomo. This room is indeed close to the famous cathedral but not worth the money. A/C was a joke, it was on full blast but the room easily had 20 foot ceilings, so that 1980's unit did nothing to help. We asked the front desk for a fan and they couldn't provide one. Shower was covered in mold and the floors had a layer of dirt on them. They did have a buffet breakfast available with eggs, coffee and an assortment of pastries served on a lower level of the building which also had mold in every corner. The room we had was called The Urano. If you do book this awful place, request a different room and you chance having a better experience.

Wonderful staff, allowed us to check in early rather than just leave luggage. Breakfast was fabulous ... full selection of fruit, yogurts, rolls, meats, cheeses and eggs. Best cappuccino ever. Our stay at Palazzo Galleti was OK overall. The initial experience was a bit surprising, but after the shock we settled in. The room was large, breakfast was simple, only toast and juice, coffee and tea. We didn’t know that buffet was not served during the winter months. When the tenets upstairs were walking, there was sand and paint that fell from the cieling into the bed and pillow. The floor was never washed.

The pictures are a lot better than the actual place. The location is great and makes up for the hotel. WiFi rarely worked. The breakfast was ok, although the guy in the kitchen was very kind. He ran out of eggs and offered to make us some fresh eggs. The room did not have air conditioning and we slept with the windows open, I got a million nasty bug bites. The bed was comfy, pillows were so flat. The room was a bit tired overall.

In a very good location, very near the centre of town and close to a \"walking street\" full of restaurants and bars. The property is unique in that it is a converted palazzo. The tiny breakfast room was super cute and like going back in time. We had a very spacious room with high ceilings. The breakfast staff were very attentive. BEWARE: there is no elevator. You have to bring your suitcases up the rows and rows of stairs (not great unless you travel very light!)

This is a no frill hotel with staff available from 8 am to 7 pm and absolutely no coverage between 7 pm and 8 am. During office hours, level of assistance varied, based on the lone person's capabilities and know how. Pretty much you were on your own. Air conditioning was not adequate despite the fact it was on 24/7. Also there was a person who acted as chef to prepare breakfast, maid and a bellboy and did his best to please customers.
On the check out day, requested a taxi service and the guy who was manning the office placed the taxi service on line and advised us that the taxi will be on the premises in three minutes. After 20 minutes of no taxi, had to go back to office and ask him for placing a call to taxi company. He refused to do it. His response was internet booking was the proper way to handle it.
Needlessly to say I had to walk quarter mile to get to a taxi stand to get a taxi so we could get to our train station on time.

Didn't know but we could've taken a bus from the train station right to the hotel. It would've saved walking in the heat and over cobblestone streets. The #14 or 23 bus stops within feet of the door. Staff was pleasant and helpful. There is no elevator and we had no hot water one day and no one told us.

We have a good time at Residenza Palazzo Galetti

The hotel is just a few blocks from the glorious Duomo of Florence. The residenza shares the palazzo with other apartments and B&Bs and is located on the first floor, up a flight of stairs. We had a large room, spotlessly clean and a nice bathroom with ample shower (no bathtub). Breakfast was included and of first quality. We'll look again for Residenza Galetti when we return to Florence.

Excellent centrally located hotel

I have stayed in a number of less than adequate Florence hotels over the years. The Residenza is the best that I have found in the center of the city. I had a large, comfortable room with a magnificently tall ceiling (maybe 7 m high) and it was very quiet.
The only problem with this establishment is that they do not allow late check-ins. You should take note of this on their webpage.
I look forward to staying there often in the future.

Best B&B in Florence.

This is an absolutely beautiful B&B with huge bedroom & bathroom. The place was great and my room had a small balcony and hotel staff are very nice. Keep in mind this place has no elevator so you will have to carry luggage to the 2nd floor for those bring huge suitcases. The breakfast was simple and very nice.
Location was the best and you can walk to Duomo (5 mins) and Davis statue about 10 minutes or less.
I will book this place again and I am glad I picked this beautiful place than major hotels. They have only 11 room.

Best Hotel Room of My Europe Vacation

I love, love this B&B. The lobby that you first walk into, which is shared with a spa, is incredible. We were greeted by the sweetest woman who gave us a free suite upgrade. The suite itself was amazing. The beautiful high ceilings, the huge bath tub. Gorgeous! The mini bar was stocked and very reasonable. We missed breakfast one day, and were brought some by request. Very sweet. The wifi was fast and easy to connect to. It was a fast walk to many of the major sights in Florence. Also, very safe location. If I ever go back to Florence, I will be staying here. By far the best room I've had on this European vacation.

Nice hotel close to everything

We loved our stay at the hotel , had a family romm that was breathtaking, very spacious with the beautiful art on the walls and bads were so comfortable. Only one thing dont come with a lot of luggage because there are no elevators! Breakfast was included and was wery tasty😁 If you come with a car they will suggest the best nearby place.

Horrible service

Right from the start, we had a bad experience. At check in, the woman did not even greet us, she just said \"yes\" and didn't greet us in Italian or English at all.
Then, the room is pretty basic and does not even have a kettle or coffee machine, and if you wish to order coffee from the hotel, they charge 4 euros for that, which is way more than it would cost in a caffe.
Although, the breakfast spread and food was good, the service was non existent. There was a woman standing there when you walk into the breakfast room, but she did not greet us in the morning and actually just stood there. She didn't offer to make us coffee or boil water for tea. We weren't actually sure why she was there.
The staff at this hotel are very unfriendly and make you feel very unwelcome. It feels more like self catering. Considering it's not a cheap hotel, we felt what we were offered was unacceptable and would definitely not return.

This bed and breakfast is on the first floor of a palace. We had a beautiful suite - large rooms with high painted ceilings and elegant furnishings. We felt as though we were staying in a museum

Great location / really friendly and helpful staff

We were lucky enough to be upgraded having originally booked a room with a double bed and single for we two ladies, but then decided my friend would bring her daughter so there were three of us. The hotel kindly let us use the suite which made our stay much more comfortable. The staff were also really helpful in arranging taxis and guiding us to make the most of our excellent stay.

Excellent B&B right in the heart of Florence

We had a fabulous stay at Palazzo Galletti. Unlike some other reviewers, we found it easily and had no problem with the stairs up to the first floor. The receptionist spoke excellent English which was great, as our Italian is non-existent. The room itself was lovely - incredibly high decorative ceiling, cute balcony and a really comfy bed. The room had aircon, a well-stocked and reasonably priced mini-bar and a large, clean bathroom. The only downside was the shower which seemed to have only one setting - very hot. Breakfast was a decent buffet - nothing to complain about. The B&B is in an excellent location, really close to the many sights, restaurants and bars of Florence. Despite that, it is quiet at night. All in all, a wonderful place to stay to explore the city.

Half B&B half luxury hotel

The Palazzo Galletti is half B&B half hotel. It is conveniently located 1,000 ft from the Duomo and within walking distance of all the key sights. It occupies the second floor of an old , elegant building. We were lucky to be assigned a beautiful suite on the street, but very quiet. Rooms are tastefully decorated with all the amenities of a modern hotel.

Getting to the hotel may be tricky. Beware of the instructions of your GPS.We ended up at the end of a long narrow street blocked by poles and had to back up which was not easy. Parking is available from a nearby garage at a cost of 30 Euros per night. Cars are driven away from the center of town but are delivered in front of your hotel at the desired time.

Nice Bed & Breakfast in central Florence

Great location near all the major sights. The breakfast buffet was good in a fun location in the basement of the building. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Ours had a small balcony overlooking a quiet courtyard while our son had a slightly larger room with a sitting area. The rooms were uniquely decorated with extraordinarily high ceilings--quite fun. The staff spoke good English and helpful getting taxis. We would stay in this B&B again.

Just a couple of warnings. There is no elevator to the second story where the rooms are and it is a bit hard to find the B&B because it is not marked well outside the building.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially given my last minute reservation. Upon arrival, I was given a complementary upgrade to one of their nicest rooms covered in nineteenth century frescos. It definitely made my stay in Florence unforgettable. Highly recommend.

B and b clean and staff great but our room very basic. Balcony not nice looked into messy roof and AV unit made a lot of noise and water dripping down from balcony above. Beds very hard but room very quiet even though you are in the heart of the city. Staff very obliging.

Great location and fantastic room decor! No tea and coffee making facilities!
The staff member who was there when we arrived did not know the area at all. We asked her the closest parking for our car was and she did not know. Turned out there was parking across from the hotel and the same with the laundromat, once again across the road.

Nice hotel near the duomo

Comfortable bed and nice large shower . My only complain is that there is only one small mirror above the sink so if someone is using the bathroom you don't have another mirror to use also the sink has no side counter to put things like hairdryer or curling iron when in use.

A real palace 5 minutes away from the Dome.

My husband and I booked this hotel for a 2 night stay in Florence, it was within our budget since we had other cities to visit in Italy. The cost of this hotel is worth it for a great place to stay.
The hotel is a real gem, beautiful room with high ceilings and paints on it, very comfortable, with big high windows and nice décor. Bathroom was huge for a European hotel, with a nice big shower, everything new and super clean. A nice little balcony was part of our room with view to the city.
The staff was always available and friendly, they provide breakfast which was very good, there was a lady who attended and will make you the best cappuccino.
The hotel does not have an elevator, but the stairs are wide and not many to go up to the first floor where the rooms are located.
