We had an unforgettable stay at Hotel Santa Caterina. The property is breathtaking, perched on a cliff with panoramic Amalfi Coast views and a private elevator leading to a serene private beach.

There was a mix-up with our initial room, but the staff handled it with professionalism and quickly moved us to a beautiful Junior Suite with a stunning sea view.

Service was exceptional throughout — from the concierge to the restaurant team. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was truly magical.

Once settled, our stay was flawless. Highly recommended for anyone seeking luxury, elegance, and relaxation in Amalfi. We can’t wait to return!

If you’re looking for a truly amazing luxury vacation experience, this is the place. Santa Caterina is top notch in every way. The hotel is absolutely stunning and the staff could not be more attentive. The room was absolutely beautiful. The heated, salt water pool just steps from the sea was fantastic. The breakfast had every option you could image and the service was impeccable. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you for a wonderful experience. This was hands down the best hotel I’ve ever stay at.

Incredible property, rooms, staff and service. Extremely difficult for dining if you're vegan as the restaurants have very limited options. You can only eat pasta with tomato sauce, risotto, vegetable soup, or a salad so many times. This typically wouldn't be a big deal, but the surrounding area also has very limited options for vegans. Again, no big deal if you're there for a couple of days. Anything longer than that and you'll likely be wishing

So, this hotel is so great and the area is amazing, but if you're vegan plan accordingly. We suggest a shorter stay, or bring food with you.

The beautiful property includes a pool area with fantastic lunch and dinner restaurants, including a Michelin Star restaurant, which was terrific. We really enjoyed the property, which had a great pool and restaurant staff. However, our experiences with the front desk and concierge staff left us with a lot to be desired. The front desk staff appeared to lack any sense of organization and communication among the staff. For example, when we were checking out, we had a ferry departing from Amalfi for Capri, and they said they had arranged the luggage transportation to the port (about .8 kilometers from the hotel. At Twenty minutes before the ferry was scheduled to leave, there was no car and no communication to us on what was going on. Luckily, we found a water taxi to take us from the hotel port to the ferry port. Still, because of the time, the water taxi had to dock illegally in order for us not to miss the ferry - it was literally a \"diving catch\" and not a great experience. That was one example of several of the front desk/concierge not being organized or communicating effectively with guests. Would I go back? Absolutely! Beautify property! We know now that we have to arrange all our transfers despite the staff offering to do so.

Bucket list property that exceeded my high expectations! Site and staff were over the top gracious and welcoming. Every level of service was impeccable. Hotel views are world class, upgrade from balcony to private terrace was so very much appreciated, the included breakfast was massive and the most extraordinary quality and quantity, the service was bot ever present and incredibly discreet. Loved our interactions with the front desk staff, who all seemed to act as concierges! Bellman fussed over every little detail to ensure our comfort in transportation needs for our luggage to and from and for our little jaunts around the corner into downtown Amalfi, or up the hill to begin the Path of the Gods. The gardens, the scents, the candlelight in the evening, the views from every secret garden and terrace, the glass elevator beckoning you to the pool below and sea beyond. Hotel Santa Caterina is everything!

My happy place! ❤️ This is my second stay at HSC, amazing hotel, staff and location. Property is beautiful, super clean and location can not be better. The staff are wonderful and attentive. This trip Enzo and Mateo were my favorites. Enzo rescued me every evening arriving in the shuttle in town, lol. Breakfast is delicious every morning with so many choices. Staff arranged private shuttle pick up and drop off to the airport which was seamless. HSC will always be my go to hotel in Amalfi. Thank you for another amazing stay!

The portions were too small with too much emphasis on the bread. The meal was 120 euros per person
plus the charge for alcoholic beverages. Very expensive meal but not worth it because of the quality of the ingredients, the portions were so small it was a joke. Although the presentation was amazing, it does not cost very much to make bread. I would order a la carte

I paid for a sea view queen room at a price of $1500 USD for one night. We checked in and they gave us a queen room with a garden view and a partial sea view -
Nothing like it showed in the pictures. The room smelled musty and of mold. And there were 2 ants on the bed. I had already asked if I could have an upgrade because it was our honeymoon - so I asked once again after I saw the room. They said to check with them in a few hours to see if they have a no-show. I did so - and then the manager showed me a much bigger room and asked if I wanted that instead. I said yes absolutely thinking it was an upgrade. I then went to orbitz to check what the category and price of this new room was and it showed it was $300 cheaper than the one I booked and it clearly said “partial sea view”. I was so irritated and then complained. They offered to credit me back the difference and buy us drinks for their mistake and clear deception - both of which I accepted. But I had no choice but to keep that room. The room itself was nice and clean. But it was our honeymoon and the stay started off on such a sour note. I spent the first 3 hours switching rooms and then dealing with the pricing issue. I heard this was the best hotel in amalfi. I just expected more. At that point they should have given us more than just drinks. And in hindsight I should have insisted on more but I didn’t want to make more of an issue since it was only one night. They really should be not deceiving their guests like this

Service was great except for one rude bar staff when we questioned a drinks bill. Bar prices are much higher than hotels around the world. One glass of Aperol was the cost of two bottles! The food menu is not impressive and expensive so we preferred to eat elsewhere after two meals at the hotel.

This is a wonderful hotel of old worldly charm with modern facilities. The staff are the most attentive we have ever met, they cannot do enough for you. From the reception, waiters at meal times to the cleaners all just wonderful. It has an Italian charm of a earlier era. The hotel first built 1904 with just 6 rooms has expanded along and down the cliff face, breathtaking sea views and of Amalfi. Still owned by the same family (2 sisters I believe) many of the staff have worked worked there for years. Our only disappointment was the pool area down at sea level, which is just reaching completion of refurbishment and was not open. Not explained at time of booking but for people going later this will be just an added plus to what truly is one of the great hotels of the world.

Best Hotel in the World

This was our second time to visit HSC. This hotel is truly the best in world. We have stayed at many LHW properties but none of them come close to the personalized service provided by the HSC staff. The food on property is amazing. The same staff that was there three years ago was still there! The quality is top notch. We enjoyed appetizers and drinks on the balcony patio every night and the view was one of the best in Amalfi. We cannot wait to return to Amalfi and stay in this cliff side beauty again. If you like to be pampered, this is the hotel for you! I must say, that I am slightly uncomfortable with all the attention, but it certainly did not leave you wanting for anything. The food was great, the staff great, the rooms amazing, and you certainly can't beat the view! It is a bit expensive, but worth it.

The Hotel staff personally took us to our room which had stunning views, beautifully equiped and very comfortable. It was always clean and the staff were so friendly and couldnt do enough to help. The breakfasts are outstanding, so fresh and delicious and again nothing is too much trouble. They do have a shuttle to take you into the centre but we preferred to walk down so only used this service occasionally. We were celebrating an occassion so booked for an evening meal which was amazing. With piano playing to delicious food, the atmosphere was brilliant as it was in their restaurant down near the sea. So cosy. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amalfi.

We just returned from our ALMAFI coast trip, and we stayed at the Santa Caterina for 6 nights. The hotel is set atop of the beautiful Amalfi coast, and a 10-15 minute walk from the town of Amalfi. The walk during the day can be a bit hair raising as the road is barrow and full of cars. The staff at the hotel is excellent and very attentive. The restaurant staff is excellent; however the food gets mixed reviews. The breakfast that was included is average, nothing that you could say was superb, and some items , such as the eggs (whether fried or omelette) are mediocre at best. Our dinner the first night was poor, but our dinner the third night was very good.

Overall great experience at the Santa Catarina. The location and outdoor setting were perfect. The room was very clean but the sheets were hard. The staff was very attentive but we got the feeling that they were looking for tips. It seemed that each staff member helped with only part of a task and then another staff member would take over. It would be very expensive to tip everyone, so it felt uncomfortable. It may have been helpful if the hotel made a statement about the tipping.

Hotel is absolutely fabulous with beautiful views of the sea, manicured grounds and a patio jutting out into the water. The room was well done where we slept well. Food was tasty. Location is near the city center -10-15 min walk.

Extremely nice hotel with wonderful service.

The hotel is perfectly set on a cliff near town with breathtaking views. The service is impeccable and there are many extras like a shuttle, fruit and cookies in your room, sun deck chairs and snorkeling gear that you don't have to pay extra for. It is very very pricey though and we didn't like the sheets on the bed.

Classy hotel near the center kf everything

Breakfast was amazing- smoked salmon, local cheeses, etc. staff was more than accomodating and resourseful regarding local activities/landmarks etc. would stay here again hiven the opportunity cant say enough great things!
