Property location and atmosphere was excellent. Room was not I believe was described to me. We had 2 queen beds that were separated by a bathroom- this was for privacy and to make it convenient for the 2 parties. However, upon arrival, the entrance to the bathroom was in one of other sides where the other bed was. Tried to make a change , but was told I had to pay $150 extra. Very disappointing to an otherwise great property

The main lodge that has the lobby, lounge, gift shop, bar and restaurant is beautiful with a great view of the lake. Staff that I interacted with in the lobby, gift shop and restaurant were exceptional. Food at the restaurant was amazing. As far as the cabin and room that I stayed in let me first say it was on the lower end of their rooms. It was small, and unimpressive when compared to the lodge. Nothing was wrong with it everything worked, was nice and clean, bed was comfortable and the area was quiet. It was however just kind of a let down when compared to impressiveness of the main lodge. That being said I would stay here again, however I would just try to book a better room.

This was one of the few times I ever did a self check in and it was such a was experience. Awesome location right outside Rocky Mountain National Park and breathtaking views. Wish we could see this property in the summer but the early fall is just as great! Just a bit chilly!

The overall experience was good. Setting is 5 stars.
The lodge amazing. However, the cabin was much smaller than expected- until I read the history of each stage of the property. Then I understood why.
Overall- The room is small- the shower even smaller- but the amenities at the lodge make the experience nice.
Live music on Saturday night- with a huge circular fireplace set the stage for a relaxing evening.
Very close to downtown. Though we drive down there.
Shopping and dining in downtown is great.

This resort is in the bkrder of RMNP. The pool and hot tub were heated and overlooked Grand Lake...a breathtaking view. The restaurant and bar area were nice and the food was good but ery pricey for a family. There are restaurants in nearby Grand Lake that are more reasonable and have options. There were areas to walk around and the grounds were beautiful, but very hilly. The cabins were updated but very very tiny. Overall a very nice place although a bit outdated.

The room was clean and perfectly adequate for a two night stay for a family of 3. The property itself is STUNNING and the lodge/lobby area was a wonderful place to gather and get warm in the chilly mountain weather. We loved the Deer Deck fire pit and jacuzzi with the most incredible views of the lakes.

This property has absoutely stunning views from above Grand Lake and the surrounding mountains. We stayed in a Jupe with a lake view (one of four jupes) and thought it was outstanding. The entire property, including our Jupe and the two portable restrooms for the Jupe guests, was very clean. The evening we stayed the temperature got down into the mid-40's but we were nice and toasty in the Jupe. The bed had an electric blanket (along with ample regular blankets) and we actually had to lower the temp on the electric blanket because we were so warm!

The jupe was the size of a small hotel room and there was plenty of storage for our belongings in floor cubbies that had locks. There were four outlets (two are under the nightstands) so that we could plug in electrical items, and the Jupe included a box fan. The mattress on the queen sized bed was very comfortable and had dimmable lighting underneath, with a switch on one night stand.

The two portable bathrooms (NOT regular portapotties) both had toilets, sinks, and showers. They were super clean and had lotions/soaps/shampoo/conditioner for guests to use. Just don't forget to bring your towel and washcloth provided in your Jupe!

Inside the lodge was the front desk, a small store/gift shop, areas for seating and entertaining, a nice bar, and a restaurant. The restaurant is on the expensive side, but the food is chef prepared. It's a fine dining experience and the food and service were excellent!

Labor Day weekend with all properties full and the Grand Lake Lodge has a wedding with DJ loud house music until 10:00 and crowd loud until about 11:00 pm…congratulations to the couple but the entire time from 5pm on was Wedding!!!! We were never informed…no way sleep to get up early….Really Sucks for patrons

This a a beautiful place in Rocky Mt National Park and would be nicer if they let nature be the sounds we hear as guests. Unfortunately in the main lodge there is always rock music, so even on the nice big porch that is all I can hear.
The real fire in the morning in the lodge with complementary coffee and tea if a nice feature. I was there in late August. The Pool is OK althohgh not great for doing laps since there are steps on each end of the pool.
I had the Grand breakfast with two eggs and pork sausage and that was tasty, although the restaurant in the Lodge does not open unil 10 am.
The vew from the porch is great, although, as noted, would be better, for me at least, without the constant rock music.
The staff was helpful and generous when there were problems with my cabin. I would stay there again and hope they can stop the constant rock music.

Wonderful historic resort. Scenic location with incredible views. Outdoor seating patio, pool, restaurant, grounds and lodge all added to the incredible experience. Helpful and very friendly staff. Close to town, good hiking and near Rocky Mountain Park. Highly recommended. But, if you are a larger person, you are warned that the showers in the cabins are very small. I enjoyed the ambience of the design and finishes in the cabins. oh, and delicious free coffee/tea in the lobby in the morning! Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. Book it!!

We booked this cabin last minute and overall very happy with the stay. Services on the property ensure you would not have to leave. Dining is higher on the pay scale but quality matched the price. We stayed in the E2 cabin which was conjoined with another. They are smaller but adequate for two people and very clean. Grand Lake itself is a gem and we plan to return.

Rustic cabin in the woods overlooking Grand Lake, CO. Very basic but clean cabins and good food and service at the onsite restaurant, which comes with amazing views. However, a major fail with pool towels, which were unavailable at pool opening at 9 am. Evidently staff picked up the dirty towels at 930 am to put them in the laundry v doing so overnight. At $400 plus per night, I expected better. I paid a premium since it's the only pool in town. Left pool at noon and still no clean towels available.

This lodge, built in 1920, has a beautiful main lodge with a restaurant, bar, and gift shop. It is grand like a mountain lodge should be. There are several cabins to stay in, and they come in all sizes. It looks over two beautiful lakes. The staff is wonderful. They were all polite and professional. I look forward to staying there again.

This was a beautiful property with breathtaking views. The lodge was beautiful and there were nice amenities. It was so peaceful and relaxing. And right at the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. It was amazing! Very clean room.The only things that could have been improved were the shower faucet was a little leaky so wasn’t spraying at full power and the ceiling fans were a little wobbly so we didn’t want to turn them all the way up.

The wait staff and bartenders in the restaurant were clearly under staffed as service was very slow in both but was not the fault of the people working. We will definitely be back.

When we checked in, we were told we will receive a text and to use that text to communicate with the front desk. In the description of the room, it stated we would have a fan. We never received a text. So I called the front desk and I notified them if they could send a fan up. Never sent a fan up. Friends who we were staying with the next cabin allowed us to use a fan cause they did not need it.The entertainment at the lodge was fair to Middling. The entertainment at the lodge was fair to Middling. The nicest thing about the place was the access to the view from the pool area and sitting area.

Horrible! Dirty, run down, tiny tiny room. Smaller than Europe rooms. This place should be for a kids camp, not adults.
The doors and screens don’t fit properly so we had a million mosquitoes sharing our closet sized room with us.
No washcloths. The restaurant was outrageous expensive, and not much on the menu.
The view from there was great, but that was it.
Thank goodness we got out of the reservation and went downtown and found a fantastic hotel.
And lots of great places to eat at reasonable prices.
Don’t trust the pictures.
It truly felt like stepping back to girls camp, and not in a good way.

The property is great! Main lodge and pool have lake views. The staff is the best!!! Friendly and efficient. Cabins are cute. Only issue was the shower. Super tiny barely can turn around and the shower head up really high and extends out to the point that the water hit the wall. We had to literally took a cup to get water draining and splashing off wall. Ended up doing sponge bath in sink

I brought my daughter to Grand Lake for a special daddy-daughter snowmobiling weekend and chose this hotel despite its price being twice as high as other quality accommodations in the area. We selected it because of the advertised pool, lodge, and hot tub. However, upon arrival, we were met with disappointment. All the facilities were closed, and there was no staff present to check us in.

The accommodations were not as advertised—they appeared to be makeshift lodgings, possibly used for staff during the summer months. The rooms in use during the winter were nothing like those shown in the hotel's pictures. The fire pit prominently featured in the main photo is also misleading as it was not there.

Ultimately, we had to seek alternative accommodations. To make matters worse, we were denied a refund. This isn't just poor service; it feels outright dishonest to charge guests for a service that isn’t delivered. I strongly advise against booking this hotel.

My partner and i went to the grand lake lodge hoping to stay in the actual lodge. with a restaurant and hot tub and fire and social area. Expedia failed to inform us the main lodge with all of these amenities was closed for the season. the lodge didn’t inform us until we were already on our way there. we got stuck in a cabin above the lodge with no food, a horrible bathroom situation and the smallest tv known to man. we had to go into grand lake for dinner. meaning we had very limited options and complete inconvince. i called the lodge to ask for a refund and was completely dismissed by the staff that wasn’t even on the property. the only staff on property was the housekeeper. we didn’t have anyone to ask for recommendations, or any staff to make us two young women feel safe on top of a mountain behind a winding dirt road. i wish i could get my money back

Did not actually check into this hotel. After booking, an email was sent informing us that none of the amenities listed are actually open. No lisge, no hot tub, no restaurant, no person on site, nothing. This was not disclosed on hotels.com when booking. When contacting the manager to get a refund…she refused and told me to contact hotels.com. Still waiting on a response from them.

We chose Grand Lake Lodge for its beautiful location. The half-cabin is small. The shower is very small. We didn't expect to spend a lot of time in the room so it was not a big issue for us given the reasonable price and the excellent amenities in common areas. We greatly enjoyed the deck by the fire with the beautiful view. We would stay here again.

Parking at the cabin is at best awkward. Ill defined about who parks where. Parking spaces are too tight for modern SUV. Literally causes friction between guests

Refrigerator in B10 is so close to the bed, the door cannot be opened wide enough to use the refrigeretor.

Queen size beds were invented post cabin construction. Too tight for current human size.

For these reasons, we will not be using GLL again.

We were hiking a section of the CDT and came off early. We asked to drop our backpacks off before hiking 6 miles to retrieve our car at a trailhead. We were told we couldn't leave them because of liability issues. Finally talked them into being able to leave them outside the cabin we would have for the night. Have never had the experience of not being able to store bags for a couple hours at a lodge or hotel.
