My room was clean and the staff is extremely professional and very kind. The pool is rather small but the water was acceptable. Could have been better. I had a petite room. Queen size comfortable bed but no window. Air conditioning is very good. Yhorman is a great host. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area and about tourist activities to do. You’re in the heart of the nightlife and the Getsemani historical district.

The interior of the hotel from the moment we walked in is truly spectacular. Very well located. We were on the third floor room 302. A large room with a huge shower room and a large bathroom. The lighting was incredible. Adjusting shower temperature a little challenging, but you’ll figure it out. Secure. Service excellent. It is indeed a small boutique hotel.

The facilities were mostly clean, and the staff was awesome, but the room was comically small. Too small in fact to unfold my luggage, except on the bed. It also lacked any kind of real window, having only a fixed shutter covered pane that allowed little natural light and cerainly no view. The breakfast was very nice. The location isn't the best, but not too far to get to better sections. The main detraction was that there seems to be a late night club that plays LOUD music into early morning, and the windows don't fully close, letting the sound enter the rooms.

Negatives: The sleeping room was not clean and a bit run down (eg. the lampshades were stained/discolored and the airconditioning unit seemed to have grim on it). We pointed out to the staff that the floors had obviously not been cleaned and they told us they would clean them, which they did, but not well at all. There was dirt and hair behind one of the bathroom doors from the time we arrive through our 3 night stay despite daily housekeeping. If cleanliness is a priority for you, I would not recommend staying at Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemani.

My family feel there was not enough attention and care with the cleaning of the room. Towels were left wet on the floor and weren’t changed until we asked.
The bathroom door wouldnt stay closed when we were going to use the toilet, we asked staff on the first day to put a lock on the door, they said that the matter would be dealt with and the door would be fixed. We were there for 3 nights, and the door was never repaired. It could have been such a nice stay, as the hotel is in a good location, but, we would not recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Cartagena.

I loved that the hotel was located inside an authentic colonial-era home. I enjoyed the free breakfast and rooftop pools to cool down in the afternoons. The bed was comfortable, although my room was a bit too snug even for one person. The front door of the hotel must be opened by a staff member at all times, which is something to keep in mind. The hotel also does not allow guests.

This hotel was a great choice for our first visit to Cartagena, Colombia. It's perfectly located in the heart of the Getsemani neighborhood, with tons of restaurants, shops, and nightlife within a short walking distance. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The hotel was very clean and the food was good. Checking in and out was smooth. The hotel has free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool and jacuzzi on the rooftop. Basically it looks like the pictures on their website. I would highly recommend this hotel and I'll be returning for my next trip to Colombia.

My recent 5-night stay at Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemani in Cartagena was absolutely wonderful! The hotel itself is lovely, but what truly stood out was the incredible staff. Juan Carlos, in particular, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. And let's not forget the breakfast – it was simply delicious and such a great way to start each day. It was within short distance to all the main attractions, super close to everything. I highly recommend Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemani for anyone visiting Cartagena!

The hotel is beautiful, clean and beds are comfortable. The staffs are very respectful. Breakfast is good. The place is centrally located and walking distance to everything.
My only problem is their generator malfunctioned during the power outages on our last day. We don’t have water and power for a while so we have to go to another hotel to use their facility. Monthly generator maintenance should be done to avoid this inconvenience in the future.

Would not recommend this property. Booked this hotel for 1 night stay because it was very late and I wanted somewhere to stay so I can figure out the remainder of my trip. I arrived and it wasn’t until I spoke with the man (who didn’t even want to come to the door and assist me) only to find out that the booking was for tomorrow. I asked if there was anyway it can be applied for tonight’s stay instead & if they could accommodate me, and he said no. That evening I contacted Expedia for a refund and they said they would reach out to the hotel to get it situated. I also wrote the hotel on Expedia to which they told me no. Please be aware that this hotel is also in an area that looks VERY SKETCHY at night. I didn’t even want to stay outside to figure out another available hotel, I ended up going back to the airport because of how scary the outside of the hotel looked. There were people just watching me standing outside looking which made me feel like a target. Would not recommend this hotel at all.

Cute boutique hotel

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I arrived about an hour before check-in, and went across the street to grab a bite to eat. Charming facility, and very friendly and helpful service. Although the rooms were on the smaller side, they were nonetheless well-maintained. A highlight of the day was the breakfast served Near the rooftop pool. Always delicious and always served with a smile.

I would stay again in this property in they changed their check-in process and speed. They couldn't find a stamp on my passport and kept me waiting for hours. There was no clarity on which documents they needed, and although I spoke to the manager who said that it was solved, the girl from the front desk kept asking me for more and. ore documents via whatsapp.
I've stayed at hundreds of hotels in Colombia and Cartagena and this had never happened to me before.
They could have air conditioning in the lobby or at least better ventilation. It was my first time staying at the hotel and chose it due to the closeness to the port. Upon arrival I felt that I had made a mistake because the \"lobby\" is dark and hot, but the room was very clean, spacious and with good AC.
In the morning the water pump of the hotel was not working and I couldn't take a shower, but the hotel acted promptly and gave me a room to shower in another of their hotels which was just one block away.

El único pequeño inconveniente fue que en el área del jacuzzi no había nadie trabajando detrás de la barra a pesar de que se suponía que estaría abierta hasta las 8 pm. Esto no fue importante para nosotros, pero probablemente valga la pena mencionarlo. la comida estuvo deliciosa y en general todo fue increíble.

Leaking toilet water on bathroom floor

Would rather not leave a bad review, but our bathroom was continually covered in toilet water from a leaking toilet, and we had to ask to replace a comforter with an odd stain on it. The hotel refused to compensate us for any of this. The toilet really made for an unpleasant stay. It looks like the hotel has only tried to add more caulk to the base of the toilet, but that's not enough to stop the leak.

Excellent location if you want to be close and walkin distance to \"FUN\", with bars, restaurant and dancing. It's pretty busy people walking on these small streets but all are tourists from all over the world. It's a small hotel, bed and breakfast type but very nice rooms. I didn't like the breakfast area being on the open area of the roof though due to the heat. Breakfast choices were excellent, more than a continental type and they cook it for you to your liking.
Overall good for a short 2 to 3 day stay.

Hotel is on a narrow street with barely enough room for another car to get by when you’re getting in or out of vehicles. Staff is excellent and accommodating. Hotel has a musty smell in the lobby. I would suggest a grab bar be placed in the shower, and a medium-sized trash can in the bedroom. Overall, this was a good experience.

This is a great small hotel in the heart of Getsmani.
Lovely breakfast on the rooftop.
The one thing that bothered is the nearby guest house playing loud music in the middle of the night.
Front desk were very helpfull especialy Mauricio.
We stayed 1 night, left for Rosario & left the luggage. Upon return the room asigned didn't have a/c so we were taken to their sister hotel just around the corner which was a fantastic upgrade to end the Colombian trip.

Lovely restoration. A few minor quirks remained in our room, although readily remediable: No bath towel racks by shower in the very fine bathroom. No toilet paper roll holder. No full-length mirror, although 2-door wardrobe has space. Cute little, 1kg room safe was not fastened to anything ... easily taken for a souvenir, with whatever might be inside. Difference between very good and excellence.

Staying at Monaguillo de Getsemani was a great idea. The location is right in the middle of Getsemani which is one of the hottest spots in town surrounded by restaurants, bars and local shops. Also walking distance from Parque del Centenario, Centro and Ciudad Amurallada. Carlos and the whole staff were really supportive and helpful all the time and the rooftop pool is the place where you want to be right after those crazy walks around the city. Highly recommended.

I had a great stay in this hotel. It is located in the heart of Cartagena so it is walking distance to the best restaurants, the walled city and many other attractions. I did not need a car to get around. The hotel was beautiful, the free breakfast in the morning was a plus. Our room was beautiful, I just wished it had a better view. The customer service was amazing, I have no other words to put it. A special shout-out to Ligia, the receptionist who made our experience even better.

We had a great experience in this cozy little boutique hotel at the center of Getsemani. We were able to walk to everything that we wanted to do Cartagena from the old city to the Getsemani neighborhood to Castillo de San Felipe.

The staff was extremely kind and helpful - especially Fabian - to meet all our needs including scheduling our covid tests onsite and shuttles to and from the airport. The room was small but very clean and cozy.

We would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is lovely and the staff is lovely also. Our check-in was fast efficient and friendly. Our room was spacious with very nice amenities. The neighbourhood is very nice, many restaurants and easy to walk to the old city from here. Breakfast is served on the fourth floor rooftop and is excellent. There are many stairs in the hotel so that might be a problem for somebody with mobility issues. I would stay at this hotel again (and in fact I did!)

The property was centrally located right across from the famous cafe Havana, in the beautiful Getsemani. Walking distance to the castle on one side and the walled city in the other. The breakfast was great and the staff who prepared it was very nice. I was surprised by how tiny the room was, we barely had any room to walk around the bed. However, the room was very clean and the staff was beyond kind and helpful. I would stay here again if visiting Cartagena and will recommend it to my friends and family.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. We were within easy walking distance of everything that we could possibly need to go to, yet once we were inside the hotel, it felt as though we were miles away. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was fantastic. I expected a typical hotel buffet, but that was not at all the case. We had fresh fruit every morning amd custom made items. The rooms were not huge, but they were cozy and the beds were quite comfortable. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

Great stay. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very kind. The pool was great after a hot day touring Cartagena. We enjoyed it.

We enjoyed a great stay

We enjoyed a fantastic stay. The hotel is as it appears in the pictures. The breakfast was very good and complete, the service extremely friendly and prompt, and the hotel was very clean. We also loved its location and felt extremely safe. My only suggestion is to get a new mattress, as ours sagged. But overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back again for sure.

Love this botique hotel. Only 7 rooms, our room was huge (one the 2 line) though I know the rooms on the 1 line are very small. Staff was freindly, everyone from check in, to cleaning service, to the wonderful lady who made breakfast was great. Place is clean, breakfast was delicious, food too was amazing, 2 small pools, great safe location. WiFi was a bit spotty, but would certainly recommend.

The place is beautiful. The staff, especially Christian, were wonderful. The room however, while clean, was extremely small, had no windows, shelves or hooks/hangers, and only a few small drawers in which a book would barely fit. Our particular room was on the first floor, and we could hear every lobby conversation, whether it was 0530 in the morning when the staff came in to start preparing for the day, or late at night as people were coming back. Therefore, we doubt we would come back here, even though the place is truly gorgeous, clean, in a great location, has good breakfast, nice rooftop pool/jacuzzi and lovely staff. In short: 10/10 for aesthetics, 2/10 for functionality.

Excellent location in Getsemani, which is a lively neighborhood. Loved the rooftop terrace where breakfast is served. Also a nice place to relax in the evening, but BYOB, as it's not a bar. The standard rooms are nicely decorated, but small with no hooks or hangers. The one small pool was nice for cooling off in the afternoon, but the other pool (with jets) needed algaecide, as it was green. Every morning as we were eating breakfast, the maid would come up and sweep the floor and clean around us. She should be instructed to clean before or after breakfast hours, not during.
