The room was beautifully appointed and very clean. We opted for the Sapphire suite with access to the hot tub. (side note- this is advertised as being private, but it is on a shared balcony with no dividers).

We also chose to include breakfast and that was wonderful. There were many hot and cold food options and a good variety of beverages as well. Great offering especially when traveling with kids.

You should absolutely visit the spa if you get a chance. It was the best way to end our trip.

I was absolutely impressed by the kindness of the staff- Anna at the front desk and Robert with maintenance in particular. Anna did everything she could to assure we had a wonderful stay and Robert was incredibly kind and helpful. They really made the stay exceptional for us. I would ultimately return because of them. You can stay at a nice hotel anywhere, but the staff is what makes this place stand out. Thank you so much for that.

Unfortunately I don’t think it represents the price they’re charging having stayed in equally nice rooms and not paid as much.

Great place but find it un gratifying to come back to the room and never find any fruit basket or tasty delicacies. It’s supposed to be a 5 star hotel and first I visit that does not provide amenities for welcoming

This property was billed as a 5-star property. In my opinion just having a great room with great lights and music options does not make you a 5-star property. At the time of check-in we found that there was no bath mate on the floor in bathroom, built-in safe was locked and not working. Room temperature could not be controlled from the room! There were no free water bottles as mentioned in their information so when asked for it, we were told to drink tap water! We have stayed at so many 5-star properties all around the world but this property should never been categorized as 5-star property.

5 star that is really a 3 star

This is reportedly the only 5 star in Iceland. I am not sure why. This would be a 3 star in USA. The hotel is under construction and we could not even enter the front entrance. The room was very technologically advanced but we could not even figure out how to work half of the equipment. The thermostat in our room was broken and apparently set to 80 degrees so we had to leave the door/window open in ICELAND in the winter! We were encouraged to order the free breakfast to our room and then given a room service fee so not exactly what was expected. The restaurant was good but not the best food we had in Iceland. So needless to say lots of room for improvement

Excellent hotel worthy of repeat visits! Hotel communication prior to stay and for transport was excellent! They were flexible in allowing a late check-out and attending to questions, ect. I stayed at Diamond Suites Sapphire Room as a stopover R & R following a European business trip. The suite was beautifully appointed and the private hot tub was deluxe! The separate floor for Diamond Suites is really lovely. Staff was professional and attentive. My stay was only marred a bit by a very noisy crowd occupying the other rooms and common area on the floor. The Kef Restaurant served star quality freshly caught cod and beautiful asparagus side dish.

Incredible service and amazing breakfast. Skip the buffet downstairs and order the breakfast; it will be an experience. We also were very pleasantly surprised by the restaurant for dinner. The main drawback we found is that the rooms have an overuse of technology that is a bit dated. For example, a confusing touchscreen to control the shower, the TV was high end 10 years ago. Variable mood lighting seems over the top. Rent a car; taxis round trip to Reykjavík was ~$250. There’s not a lot in Keflavik.

Best hotel near KEF airport

Comfortable bed, great breakfast (in private), in-room mac desktop with sonos sound system. All decoration mostly branded VERSACE. Rooms size are comfortable (not very big/ not too small) location very close to KEF airport. Some restaurants nearby. Staffs service depend on individual. The person I checked-in with was very friendly and helpful. The evening-shift lady was a complete contrast. Could be better by staff training and systemizing staff service.

Luxury Hotel in Iceland

We enjoyed the room very much. It was disappointing there was no room service for food and the restaurant was closed. We didn't know when we booked there was only 1 restaurant so we had to find a place to eat which was difficult. Other than that it was a nice stay.
