Everything about Le Pearl Taha'a was A+. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a very spacious beach house that was absolutely beautiful. We loved the yard, front and back. It was so private and felt very safe. The included breakfast was phenomenal. This was probably the most beautiful resort i have ever stayed in. The Coral Gardens were absolutely fantastic (once we learned the route) and the subsets were spectacular. Would definitely visit again!

Our stay was really good. We stayed at one of their over water bungalows for two nights as part of our honeymoon. Upon arrival they gave us a bottle of champagne which was a very nice touch. The bungalows inside is spacious and very nice. The coral gardens are an amazing spot to snorkel and I really appreciated that all snorkelling equipment was available as well as SUP and kayaks. Food is really good, especially the breakfast buffet!
Couple of things spoiled our stay which surprised me given it is a luxury resort. The pick up boat was delayed by 40min causing us to miss the sunset. No real compensation was given for this despite we raised the issue; all we got was a welcoming rehearsed speech from the hotel manager that felt a bit fake. Bearing in mind that they charge ~6300xpf per person per way for the shuttle service, you’d definitely expect something better than this! Also the check in process took 30min, it was 5pm by then so it was unclear why it took them so long! We also felt that once we checked out all the niceness was gone; no music on the noisy shuttle back, no water/drink - it felt quite transactional. Finally the overwater bungalows need a touch up on the exterior as the harsh environmental conditions of them being exposed to water and wind daily have clearly left a mark! Overall good but I’d encourage the staff to make a couple of tweaks to make sure an excellent experience is guaranteed all the way from pick up through drop off at the airport.

What a lovely resort Le Ta'haa! Paradise on earth! On arrival in the reception area each guest was met by the general manager, Laurent, I believe is his name, who introduced himself and welcomed me to the resort. How nice to individually welcome guests. My overwater villa was available early, so I was able to access my room soon after I arrived, very spacious. I can't empathise how clear the water is. I enjoyed gourmet dinner one night, dinner at Titiraina and the wonderful Polynesian show at Hawaiki Nui, where the ladies from the restaurant danced their traditional dance, it was lovely. From the gardeners to the security guards, restaurant and reception staff, all were friendly, acknowledged and greeted guests. Very professional! The property grounds were very well maintained. Swimming in the ocean with the multiple variety of fish is amazing. I also recommend touring the mainland to experience some of the local culture. Thank you to Donata, Anaik, Thilda, Lailana in reception and all the resort staff. Will definitely come back!

From the moment we arrived the staff treated us like we were the only ones there. Everyone we encountered whether the front desk, gardeners, housekeeping, waiters, pool staff, everyone was so friendly. The food was amazing, the grounds were kept to perfection and you cannot beat the location. We felt a world away from civilization but had all the comforts you would expect from a high end hotel. We tell people this was our favorite stop on our trip and we went to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. We would visit again in a heartbeat, only for longer this time.

We just returned from a week-long vacation at Le Taha'a. It was like visiting paradise! We stayed in a beachside villa with a private plunge pool and garden as well as a private beach facing the lagoon. The grounds were immaculately landscaped with gorgeous flower arrangements everywhere. There is incredible snorkeling right next to the resort and plenty of kayaks/snorkel gear to borrow. It was the perfect place to relax by the beach during the day and stargaze at night. If you are visiting on a Tuesday night, be sure to go to the Polynesian show and buffet! Many thanks to the manager and staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely holiday at Le Taha'a for our 20 year wedding anniversary. The property is stunning and so well kept. The gardens are amazing! We stayed in a Beach Villa which was so cool having our own beach and our own pool also. The food was all lovely. It is expensive but you so expect that for the remoteness of the place. We loved the Coral Gardens being so close we could snorkel most days if we wanted and all snorkelling equipment is free. We did a tour also of the island Taha'a and this was good to, very interesting how the Tahitians survive. The Rum distillery was good, Vanilla farm, and Pearl Farm very interesting. We loved the relaxation and quietness of Le Taha'a.

The staff was great and we were happy to find out later that the same group who owns this hotel owns our favorite hotel in Sicily. It was super clean and the staff took their time to learn our names. Carlos also gave us a great tour and knowledge about the islands on our ride in. We were disappointed to find out upon arrival that the gourmet restaurant was closed during our stay. If we had known about that ahead of time we would probably have booked a different hotel or moved when we went to each island differently.

Absolutely amazing! We stayed at three resorts in French Polynesia and this resort stood out. The over water villa was slightly smaller than the others but the architecture of the resort the beauty of the landscaping and the quality of food was over the top. This is where you go when you want to feel less commercialized and enjoy authentic love of the culture. Jackson, the Assistant Manager if the resort, was attending to all guests morning noon and night making sure everyone was having a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this resort

Beautiful property and the bungalow was clean and well decorated. There are limited, expensive, food choices as you are on an island. We could not leave earlier on the day of departure as the boat was full. A/C went out at 11p and they had no one to fix. They did not have fans or offer to move us. The pearl shop is expensive and not the best quality. Our excursion was not as advertised and was more of a tour of gift shops. The snorkeling was great. They did let us have the room longer to shower after swimming on the day of departure. In room fridge had a few free drinks and snacks refilled each day. They also provided a water bottle and had a water dispenser near the ice machine.

13 years ago, I visited this property as a journalist on a sponsored press trip and never forgot my experience. I hoped to be able to afford to one day return as a guest, as being a young reporter, staying here would’ve been completely cost prohibitive. Over a decade later I returned with my fiancé to celebrate his 50th birthday. Since my last visit, the hotel has evolved into being one of the most luxurious resorts in the world, though the beauty of Le Taa’ah is that you never really feel like you’re in a resort — more like a rarefied boutique hotel where no detail has been spared. This is paradise on earth. Every experience from the spa to a private motu picnic to simply a poolside cocktail feels completely bespoke. Try to time your visit for Polynesian night, when there is a bountiful spread of fresh caught fish and beautiful sashimi on offer as well as live music and dance under the stars. Tipairua is the fine dining restaurant on property and Chef Christophe certainly plays up to his two-Michelin star rating. (Though even the most casual meal at Le Taha’a is as vibrant on the palate as it is visually stunning). I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Whether you go as a couple for the most romantic getaway of your life or by yourself for a restorative wellness retreat, you will return home dreaming of the technicolor waters, the scent of vanilla and tiare, and the warm hospitality you are enveloped in at this property for weeks on end.

The property is magical, perfect in any way. The lagoon water and facilities are even more beautiful than in some resorts in Bora Bora. The snorkeling in the corral garden is a fantastic addition. The staff and little gifts made us feel wellcome from the start till the end. Would come back in a split second. If I had to suggest anything for improvement, it would be to have a well trained and dedicated bartender and more interesting dinner options at the restaurant, though the food presentation was fantastic, as well as the breakfast buffet. Overall it was an amazing experience.

We stayed for one week in a beach pool villa, and an extra two days (one in overwater bungalow, one in smaller beach villa) due to fligh cancellation.

The location of Le Taha’a is out of this world. The natural beauty of the lagoon and especially the eye-popping coral garden biosphere is out of this world. And I have been to several places in Polynesia (French and Cook Islands) and the brilliance, clarity, diversity, and ease of access (walk up the beach a bit, get in the water, and float down the channel) is an 11 out of 10.

The hotel staff was another highlight. They go out of their way to help and are professional in all aspects (manners, training, languages). Way, way beyond what I expected. Some even learned and remembered our names.

We stayed the week in a dream villa; brand new and super luxurious and elegant and spacious.
Just amazing.

About half of the 58 ‘rooms’ of the hotel are updated or in the process right now. I expect that by fall this year, it will be completed.

Of course we couldn’t help but notice the construction work going on, but the workers went out of their way to make their impact as small as possible: stepping off the path to let us go by; loud equipment like cement mixers and generators tucked away from hotel grounds and behind fences and shrubbery, making for much more walking for the workers; workdays end at 4:30 pm; and all workers wear identifying vests (“construction, garden, maintenance

Service was exceptional! Everything from checkin to checkout (and in between) was just superior service. Especially great was Guilda (forgive me if my spelling is wrong) at the front desk. We arrived very early so our room was not ready, but that didn’t stop us from being treated exceptionally at the pool, restaurant, etc.. When our room was ready, Guilda took me to our room and showed me all the features. Included was a bottle of champagne and chocolates/cookies that she said were complimentary due to this visit being our second! My only regret was our stay being so short. We had a boat to catch for a week long TradeWinds cruise. After checkout, we were allowed to stay and continue charging to our room for lunch and any other incidentals. We were also given a key to a day room to use until we left. The General Manager also greeted everyone that was arriving and had lengthy discussions with each couple/family. I should also mention that everyone was given parting gifts. I highly recommend this resort and will gladly stay again if I return. I should mention that we had a beach villa with plunge pool for this visit. Our previous visit we had an overwater bungalow. Both accommodations were exceptional.

Island oasis - would love to enjoy again with sun!

We were in a premium beachside villa, with pool (49). It was amazing. It was the end of the property and private, but a bit of a haul (5+ minutes) to walk to the main areas for food and pool, if that's a concern for you. The property is lovely, so we actually enjoyed walking it end to end each day. Snorkeling in the coral garden was the highlight of our stay along with Tupu and the other bar/restaurant/pool staff. Disappointing part was we were only there for 3 nights (September) and the weather was horrible - strong winds and gusts all night and day, rain on and off, and our villa was on the windy side of the resort so we had to walk to the pool on the other side to even attempt to sit outside. Because of that, we really didn't get to enjoy our villa at all except to sleep in - I made the most of it by taking advantage of the outdoor shower instead. Breakfast was really good, limited options for lunch, but want we had was good (duck bruschetta was delicious), dinner entrees were hit or miss. We did the gourmet dinner and wine pairing one night and that was really enjoyable and delicious. Truly a relaxing stay despite the weather, but could have been once-in-a-lifetime type experience with mother-nature's cooperation!!

Location is great. Rooms are dated and need updating and repair. Polynesian staff were friendly and helpful. Other staff, not so much. Breakfast which was included was always good. Overall stay was good, but I don't think we'd select this resort for future travel to French Polynesia at the current price point. This is a very nice hotel with no major faults but I would not characterize it as a luxury property.

The island itself is gorgeous with a great house reef. We stayed in a beach villa (now branded a premium beach villa) and found the room to be nice but in need of updates with lumpy beds and old fixtures (which they appear to have started on). The room was very kid friendly including a gate around the villa pool.

Where the resort falls short of a luxury designation is with the service. Staff are generally warm but we had numerous issues. Examples include the shower room being ready an hour later than we were told (on departure this matters as you're catching a boat), multiple requests that were forgotten with no follow up (wine glasses in room, concierge requests on bike pricing in Tahaa, etc.), incorrect transfer times for activities (told pickup at 11 AM, actually 1 PM). The grounds are nice but you can tell it wasn't intended to be a premium/luxury resort. Again no deal breakers and we ultimately had a nice experience.

This resort was a disappointment. We stayed at Le Bora Bora before we came to Le Tahaa and wished we had of stayed at Le Bora Bora. Le Tahaa is very run down. We stayed in a one bedroom with pool. The pool was in bad shape but still useable. There were chunks of grout missing in the tile and the decking was uneven in areas. The outdoor furniture was in very bad shape.

There are very few electrical outlets and no USB ports.

The shower floor was not directing water to the drain and the shower was an open concept, so the water would eventually start to flood out into the rest of the bathroom. We told the front desk and someone from maintenance came to fix it but they just took the drain cover out, said they would be back, and left. They never came back, and we had to keep turning off the water during our showers to stop the flooding. There was an outdoor tub/shower if you wanted use it but there were a lot of mosquitoes so it was risky.

The layout of the bungalow was strange in that there was an open breezeway area where you came in and the bedroom off to one side and the sitting area to the other. The air conditioning worked well.

Tahaa is very beautiful, and the resort grounds were very nice and well maintained.

The main pool was in need of updating and was small.

The snorkelling was good but it seemed like there was more to see at Le Bora Bora.

The main restaurant was good and had a beautiful setting in the trees.

The staff were very, very nice.

If you want a place just kick back and take in the great life like the view ,beach and just relax this is your place . The only they could do is start seeding coral under the water bungalows so everybody could enjoy the fish. A great place thanks

The property was wonderful and the staff amazing however when I asked about VIP amenities they didn’t seem to know what I was talking about and therefore I didn’t receive any benefits. I would have booked directly through the hotel for the benefits they were offering but I have had a good experience with Expedia VIP hotels so this was disappointing. In addition the TV didn’t work at all and the internet was spotty. But these things would not stop me from returning. I might just book directly through Pearl Resorts or Relais e Chateaux

this is a great place to stay. the staff is friendly and aims to please. the location is perfect and in fact the only hotel on the island. drinks are good food is good everything is carefully done and done with exceptional skilll and care. i had three issues which were handled. 1. the Christmas eve Buffet had seafood and no guarantee against cross contamination so that was sad for$250 but i was brought a dish of spaghetti which i requested as an alternative. allergies to food is a huge issue but they try hard so come prepared. 2. the thatch roofs at times can drop larvae and that is gross but they handled appropriately by moving to another lodge. bring lots of bug spray. 3. on the day of departure the ferry service departure time was changed by over an hour so i was not told until i overheard a guest on same flight say something. so i actually had more time to relax prior to coming to check out. thus, communication was poor as to changes in departure which did not leave a good feeling. i would have spent time at the pool relaxing but it was impossible when you are told one time when you went to bed and when you check out and learn a different time when you are waiting for the boat. great place highly recommend. but just remember nothing is perfect.

The island of Taha'a is absolutely gorgeous and has many wonderful excursions to offer. We were disappointed by how outdated the resort was. The overwater bungalows need a serious overhaul. The walls were coming apart, there were stains all over the outdoor furniture and the bathroom had an \"ick\" factor. Every time the cleaning staff came in, they left behind huge clumps of hair and on one occasion, a disgusting cleaning rag was left on our furniture. There was a chunk in the wood floor missing as well. Overall, we didn't feel really comfortable/clean in the room.

I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than 3 days, unless you're doing tons of excursions. The resort pool is small and the bartenders at the pool seemingly didn't know how to make certain drinks on their menu. The staff that was supposed to hand out towels and snorkle equipment was almost never available and we were constantly sneaking in to grab items ourselves.

The resort only has one restaurant for dinner outside of the 5-course L'Ohiri so if you don't like the menu (which honestly, left much to be desired) then you're out of luck. The lunch restaurant was very good but I didn't like that food wasn't available at all times throughout the day. You had to be strategic about when to eat. We really enjoyed the Tiki Bar but wish it offered happy hour or was open earlier than 6.

Walking around the resort, you kind of felt like you were at an American campgroup. There weren't any frills/luxuries to the grounds.

Understated luxury on private Motu

I loved this hotel. Stayed in 2 overwater bungalows with my family. Gorgeous setting on private motu with amazing coral snorkeling right by the hotel, where tour boats come to swim. As a guest you can go straight from the hotel at times when not crowded. We stayed at another 5-star on Bora Bora and while also lovely it was filled with American guests, and 'butlers' that were all french. This hotel has more locals employed and the property feels more understated, tropical and undeveloped while still luxury. One meal was just ok, the others delish. Lunch at the pool was one of my favorite meals. They have one 'gourmet' restaurant that is a fixed menu but we couldn't get in at the time we wanted so book ahead if you want to go. My only complaint is that when I was trying to communicate with the concierge in advance to book airport transfer, they took 2 weeks to respond even tho I sent followup emails. I was very worried that this was reflective of service at the hotel but once we got there it was all great. The concierge emailed a packet with all of their activities and it was easier to book through hotel so they coordinate the boat for getting to where you need to be. Book in advance because they do get full. We did the Overland Tour on Taha'a and liked learning about the history of region and about how pearls are farmed, rum and vanilla. Touristy but we enjoyed the outing. Bring bug spray to FP! We also did the palm basket weaving and coconut demo and loved!

This is a return trip to a very beautiful location. The staff is exceptional, warm and gracious, at every point of service! Professional, friendly, and welcoming. Excellent breakfasts, overwater bungalows, white sand beaches and warm water. Nice personal touches on the departure and arrival greetings! Maruruu Le Taha'a staff and management. I plan to return again!

I loved Taha’a the most overall of the islands we visited. The resort is very nice. We had an overwater bungalow with a beautiful view of the sunrise and Taha’a. The water was crystal blue and warm and we had a couple floor windows to view the lagoon below our room. We ate at the main restaurant 3 nights in a row and tried three different dishes, all were good! A very nice, delicious dinner. At the resort, the pool boy hut had everything we needed for free, floats, snorkels, water shoes, towels, etc. They restock the mini fridge daily with drinks, chips and Twix which was a great treat! The only con was that the mattress was very firm. But back to the good stuff, they had a very energetic man playing the ukulele at departure which was a very nice way to say goodbye. Also, they give you a little gift bag when you leave and I am very happy with my Taha hat!! We did an excursion “Vanilla Adventure” on the main land which was awesome. We e-biked around Taha seeing a run distillery, pearl farm and vanilla farm. We had a delicious home cooked meal and swam with sharks. I would highly recommend Raho’s your, he is incredibly hospitable and friendly.

Overall, they really take care of you here and you feel so remote from the world. It is a wonderful place and you should book your stay now!

The property itself was great. Very clean very nice and stylish.
Check in process was very poor. Hotel representatives did know that we're coming earlier long before we came. We arrived at 10am and our room wasn't ready till 2pm. Yes I know the rules are that check in at 2pm, but this is first time when we stay at premium resort like this and resort fails to adjust check in time to make first impression better. We also didn't get any greeting wreath.
Also we we got poisoned in restaurant and all 4 family members felt bad at night and next day. The manager of restaurant(I believe her name is Andrea) did fully refund our dinner check and made sure to notify chef about it.

In general we liked resort and will be recommending others to visit it. Be careful with food that you pick though and bring stomach pills. Other than than and poor check-in, this place is just paradise!

The staff on this property were very rude to our teenage sons, at one point asking them to leave the lobby where they were quietly sitting to download movies for our trip home (due to poor wifi in our unit). They asked them to go sit outside on the ground instead. Quite sure they wouldn't have asked adults to do this.
In addition, I received a raw hamburger and when I asked to send it back for a cooked one at medium temp, The staff began discussing us in French, assuming we couldn’t understand them.
The food in general wasn’t good and the staff was rude. Overall, very disappointing given the price of the reeort.

Amazing. We love this hotel. Enjoyed 3 incredible days.
I am laying in bed here at the moment and this is my view, it will be even better when the sun comes up!
Two beers, waters, chips, Twix chocolate and soft drinks complimentary daily in a little fridge. We enjoyed a fantastic wreck dive, Great dive master. Would love to have the dive shop here at the hotel, as it used to be. Great snorkeling is also available right off the island. Do not wear fins to protect the coral.
Only one TV station in English. And that is CNN whose ratings are in the dumps. My French is not good enough to watch the other stations!
Overall highly recommend. They are really trying and it shows!

This was our second time staying at the Le Tahaa property. The first time was 2018. In 2018 the property had different management, from what I had been told, and just seemed to be in better condition. The food was, by far, much better. The restaurant food, outside of breakfast, was such a disappointment! It was, not to the standard one would expect from a Resort of that standard. We actually went to Raiatea to eat a couple of times, because the food just wasn't worth it. The overall Resort is showing wear and tear in places. The staff was, very nice and helpful. They, indeed make the resort what it is. My advice, get a new head chef, and sous Chef, reinvent the menu and you will have Le Tahaa stand out once again. One last comment. The coral gardens, which in 2018 bright and vibrant, and, well, alive, are all dead. It is heart breaking to see tour companies ruining the the Coral Gardens. It is just tragic that ecologically, these have not been helped, or saved. My son, who was 13 on our first visit and 16 on this last visit, was saddened and quickly realized that, between, global warming and people's lack of awareness for the fragile coral gardens, what he witnessed at 13, was gone forever. We thank you for a restful relaxing time!
