Paradise on earth
We had an incredible stay, with truly outstanding service and staff, and an excellent breakfast buffet. We also enjoyed several activities with a Polynesian instructor, including a language lesson, flower crown making, and a coconut experience—all of which were engaging and memorable thanks to his knowledge and warm personality.

The marine preservation program was another highlight, offering a unique and meaningful experience. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made our stay even more special.

While the overall food was good, it didn’t fully meet our expectations. For example, the pizza crust was a bit too soft rather than crisp, the tuna had a slightly fishy taste, and the chicken was a little dry. With some improvements in food quality, the dining experience could truly match the exceptional level of service.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this resort for a memorable and luxurious getaway.

There was lots to do on and off the resort. The water was prestine. Lots of families with children were there. Riding there bikes and swimming. The view was amazing and the sea life i.e.turtles and fish right outside the overwater bunglows was so nice to see. I have waited many years to come to Bora Bora and the St. REGIS knocked out of the park. The mountain view was very beautiful but so were all the other views. We will be back for sure. Also the food was very good compared to what we had in Tahiti.

Our stay at the St. Regis Bora Bora was nothing short of magical. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, exquisitely manicured, pristine, and truly paradise in every direction. The service throughout the resort was exceptional, warm, and genuine. Everyone we encountered made us feel so welcomed and cared for. A very special thank you to Marion, our hotel liaison, for making everything absolutely perfect from start to finish and for the incredibly warm welcome. Thank you also to Teva for the wonderful hospitality and excellent service.

Property is dated, but still nice. Things, however, are in disrepair. Our cotton hammock broke due to old fibers, the bed mattresses have swells, our toilet was not fastened properly to ground. Some things can easily be fixed or replaced, but does not seem like that quality control is paramount. Bikes are used to get around property and are very used. Restaurants could use ceiling fans for guest comfort with the humidity. If you like warm temps to dine its perfect. Food was good 7/10. Evening room service was not super great-had to reorder items as they never came. Location is very good, beach and beach staff are excellent. We opted for a beach villa over a water villa as we had 4 people and enjoyed it with the extra space and privacy. Just expected more for the price as I think we got their cheaper villa by the staff housing; E. facing villa, but still very nice. A room w/ plunge pool is a must. Staff was very nice & attentive;mgrs were great too. Gym equip is dated, but complete. Did a fishing tour, they offered to prepare it. Had to be a 30 lb fish which we got maybe 16 oz of it--Very weird--as if they served us their regular maui meals and took our fish. Our fisherman warned us to make sure we watched them cook it, or we may not get it- should have heeded his advice. Overall, Bora Bora is very beautiful, water is stunning, and the St. Regis is a very nice property with great staff. Just some things that could be a little elevated including the quality control.

Resort was enjoyable. Staffs were very friendly but seemed busy all the time. When we strike a good conversation with the staffs, they seemed distracted always keeping an eye out for a supervisor. It would have been nice to have chatted with some and get to know the locals.

Communication regarding ferry to and from resort was conflicting. One staff said the ferry to the resort was free and we were responsible for the ferry back. Another said ferry was on our own. We ended up paying for both ways, which was fine just needed better communication up front.

If anyone wants the resort to themselves, go on a weekday as weekends tend to have more visitors. Overall, we did enjoy the resort.

-large expansive resort with lots of places to walk to and discover.
-great well equipped up to date gym
-quality snorkeling équipement provided for free
-attentive service at the beach with free iced water
-2 bikes per room provided for free
-room key attached to your wrist at all times making it convenient to walk out with nothing in your pockets.
-never feels crowded

Negatives:
-aging units/rooms. It looks like not much has been upgraded in 20-25 years - missing electric outlets, aging furniture/exterior of the house…)
-airport runway in the hotel axis. Planes take off above hotel instead of turning left upon take off. Disturbing the peace at times.
-breakfast is subpar. Quality and savory options missing. Mostly sugary items.
-Italian restaurant was more trying to treat you like VIP, while basic and less than real tasty food

My wife and I stayed at the St. Regis Bora Bora for our honeymoon, and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the level of hospitality was unmatched. It wasn’t just luxury — it was personal, warm, and thoughtful.

Every staff member greeted us with a smile and “Ia Orana,” whether we were biking, walking into the spa, or arriving for dinner. What amazed us was how personalized everything felt. It genuinely seemed like everyone knew our names.

Our butler, Kennie, was incredible. He went above and beyond to make our stay seamless, always anticipating our needs and making every moment special.

The location was stunning. Our overwater bungalow was larger than our apartment and perfectly maintained. We spent hours on the back patio, diving into crystal-clear water. The beach was quiet and pristine, and snorkeling in the lagoonarium was a highlight.

The food was consistently excellent — every meal felt special. On our last night, we watched the sunset at the 727 Bar, then had the tasting menu at Lagoon Restaurant. It was the perfect finale.

St. Regis Bora Bora isn’t just a resort. It’s an experience. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already dreaming of our return. If you're planning a honeymoon or special trip, don’t think twice.

Bora Bora is beautiful and water pristine! The Good: We stayed in a Premium overwater bungalow with a hot tub. Bed was very comfortable and room was spacious with spectacular views. The resort itself was kept clean, and the beach staff was excellent. Spa was wonderful, and enjoyed the lagoon area for snorkeling and a quite peaceful place to spend time at. Restaurants: The Lagoon was the best regarding food quality and service, but had to pay an extra charge to dine here even though we purchased the meal plan. The breakfast buffet had many options and was good. We dined at all of the other restaurants and the food was just ok, nothing special. The not so good: Our hot tub made a horrible loud gurgling sound when jets were adjusted to highest setting. They tried to fix it by putting more water in the hot tub, but the issue continued. It was so loud that we could not use the hot tub during our stay, and no credit was extended, or another room offered. This was a waste! The room also smelled moldy all the time, and there was always a condensation build up which caused water dripping from ceiling all over, even on our bed. They stopped by and used a pole with a rag on the end to sop up the moisture from the ceiling beams, but the issue continued throughout our stay. The furniture in the room is very dated, and the bath towels and bath mats are old. We had a butler, and although she was very nice, there was no direct line to contact her. I would expect more from the St. Regis.

As my husband and I travel regularly to top locations including Maldives, Dubai, Australia, Singapore, Europe and other destinations around the globe we can proudly say that St Regis Bora Bora has topped any place we have ever stayed at.

Between the excellent service starting with check in to our Butler Julie who was always there when we needed something to superior restaurant service particularly with our private dinner and the waier who served us was beyond amazing. The food was spectacular and always had options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. The villa had amazing views of Mount Otemanu and the clear lagoon waters allowed us to see stingrays, sea turtles, and a variety of fish without leaving our unit.

Even though it is a bit costly, you will not regret visiting heaven on earth. St Regis Bora gave us the well needed rest by not having to worry about a thing and we cannot thank you enough. As they say on the island \"Mauruuru\" St Regis. You have been such a true blessing to us and we will be back soon!

Extremely disappointing experience with St. Regis Bora-Bora.

I'm writing this review as a warning to others after our recent encounter with the hotel's inflexible and unsympathetic management.

Due to a sudden family emergency, we were forced to cancel our stay at St. Regis Bora-Bora with only a few days' notice. Despite our circumstances, the hotel refused to provide a refund or even a partial credit.

The hotel's response was unhelpful. As a luxury hotel, we expected a higher level of empathy and understanding, especially during difficult times.

Although we plan to return to Bora-Bora in the future, we will definitely not consider staying at St. Regis again. Their lack of compassion and rigid policies have left a lasting negative impression.

Would not recommend.

We were very happy with our stay at St Regis. From the moment we stepped on to the yacht to take us to the island till we fly out we were treated with luxury. The staff were next level in friendliness. Our personal assistant Chloe was absolutely amazing for us. Our canoe breakfast was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant staff were always on hand to please and the food was always delicious. The Lagon restaurant and 727 Bar were exceptional and the view of the mountain sunset was spectacular.
We couldn't fault our holiday in any way, and we plan to return. A big thank you to everyone there, you are all truly a credit to your organisation.

The area is beautiful, too big for walking and everybody uses bikes to get around. The beach is good, not as good as Four Seasons’ but better than Westin’s. The pool is way too small for Bora Bora lagoon hotels. The over water bungalow is just average, nothing spectacular and doesn’t have the beautiful bathrooms as most of the other hotels . The biggest shock for us was the food! Every single morning you have the same exact food in a very small buffet style restaurant . No big plates with exotic fruits and variety of juices, the most of the food options are not delicious at all. We also checked all of the restaurants in the property. Everything was bad except the lagoon gourmet dinner for Valentines Day. Even the rice in the Asian restaurant was Minute Maid.. I’m so disappointed and I will definitely choose Four Seasons for a future trip to Bora Bora . The staff was also kind of lazy, slow and not always helpful. I don’t recommend this hotel , sorry

If I was forced me to come up with a negative it would be that that drinks cost $25 at the bar. Pro tip - get your alcohol duty free in Tahiti before the flight to Bora Bora.

Loved our stay at the St. Regis, Bora Bora. We were a family of five enjoying the winter holidays at the island. Everything was top notch. Highly attentive service from everyone...incredible butlers (Diana and Julien), amazing beach staff (Maui, Teko and team), awesome food and beverage (Thierry) and all around friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent (just be prepared for very high prices) and we love the amenities: excellent gym, great snorkeling, stunning sunsets and bars to enjoy the views, fun riding bicycles everywhere and the cabins on the water were incredible (including the french press delivery every morning). We strongly recommend the shark/stingray snorkeling adventure and the ATV expedition. A fantastic vacation and a location we hope to return to soon.

Hotel is very nice but you are stuck there the whole time unless you do an activity outside of the hotel. The food selection is honestly not the greatest. You need reservations for every dinning room and during the day there is only one place available ti eat (unless you do room services)

I wish there was more options of good quality food like steaks, lobster etc which there was none.

Everything is expensive but it’s expected since you’re staying here.

Water views are beautiful and the water is magical it’s a must go.

Would not stay more than 5 days after that it’s too much and you will be bored. Literally at 6 pm it’s dark and there is nothing to do but go have dinner. The hotel has no night life at all

Roaches, outdated rooms, subpar service.

Bora Bora is lovely. This hotel needs work.

We stayed in two overwater villas. The rooms were outdated and badly in need of renovation. There were plumbing issues with the sinks and toilets. The service was subpar.

But the biggest issue: we found multiple cockroaches in our room - my sister stepped on one when getting out of bed in the morning and we found another dead roach near the television. Our parents had 2 cockroaches literally fall on their laps when they were sitting in the cabana on their deck. We actually had been very concerned about this based on prior reviews and then saw those were a few years old so we thought the issue had been addressed. Unfortunately not. It really ruined our experience.

We really enjoyed everything including our wedding ceremony at this resort. Definately a 5 star resort. We were very impressed with the amazing services and beatiful property. The Overwater bungalows are very spacious and well designed.

For Covid test requested by the US, you may bring iHealth Covid-19 Antigen Rapid test with you, order Verified COVID Test Service from ihealthlabs.com to have the test done at your own hotel room, and get test results for traveling back to the US in about 30 minutes. You need a laptop to have the virtual meeting for testing.

We had a great experience as an adult couple at the St Regis Bora Bora in April 2022. While it is difficult to get to Bora Bora the pristine lagoon waters from the overwater bungalows are as pictured! Clear blue water and great temperature to relax and enjoy. There are many blog posts with general recommendations about travelling to Bora Bora and reviews of the St Regis resort more specifically. Utilize those tips and enjoy! The four restaurants onsite (plus theme nights like Indian, Polynesian, and Moana night) made it so that we had a unique dinner experience all 6 nights of our stay. I highly recommend getting the Half Board package if available. While drinks are separate (and very expensive) there aren't really any other upcharges associated with the half board package. This makes breakfast and dinner easy breezy to order off the menu and enjoy. The staff was great and the concierge communication pre-arrival was very helpful making dinner reservations (which I highly recommend and can easily be changed / cancelled upon arrival if plans change) as well as boat transfers to and from the resort. Highly recommend the St Regis for an (expensive) luxury trip of a lifetime. P.S. Kids are allowed and welcomed. They even have a kids play area / daycare that needs to be booked 24 hours in advance. However, this resort would likely be best for couples, honeymooners, anniversaries, etc.

Excellent experience, pricey but definitely worth it . Every experience was unique, from the dinner and breakfast to bungallow amenities . Most beautiful water I have seen. Also even though the resort was full you can never feel it is busy, no crowds anywhere. You can feel you are at exclusive place and treated that way.

Omg, this place is paradise. I have never been so sad to leave a resort at the end of our stay. Everything about the service was perfection - anything you asked for was greeted with a smile and delivered promptly. They just thought of everything, from recommending a good seat on the plane to see good views of Bora Bora on takeoff, to providing bikes with different seat levels for me and my husband to ride around the property. If you're on the fence between the St. Regis and the Four Seasons, BOOK THE ST REGIS. You won't regret it. Our room was perfect, and the service was impeccable. 5 stars.

I loved the white sandy beach. It has incredible views of the mountains and over the water bungalows. All the water sports equipment you can use are free of charge at the beach. You can use snorkeling equipment, stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, a huge said boat and water bicycles.

It has been three years since our last visit and the St. Regis is better than ever. The property and facilities are fresh with new furniture at the beach (the cube at the pool beach are great) and dining areas, new bikes and overall general maintenance - the hotel felt new.

We enjoyed an overwater room with lagoon view - it is a wonderful, large room with decks and swim platform. One very nice feature is the covered dining table on the deck - it is the perfect place for coffee and the morning sunrise.
The food is some of the best - various options and staff very willing to address any food issue or preferences (vegetarian, etc.).

We want to highlight Karen Ouryoute of the dining staff who provided us excellent services each day. The staff is amazing - caring and helpful.

At the pool or beach or in need of any beach toys (canoes, boards, jet-ski, etc.) or drink - just look up and a “beach boy” will be there to assist. A special thank you to Ruben and his young worker assistant - these boys never stopped running to get you what you wanted or needed.

A new item for us was live music at night in the bar/dining area - this was a great treat. Different musicians each evening - excellent local talent. One was Vehiatua Montaron - singer and acoustic guitar with some backup base help from his dad.

This is one of the great properties in Tahiti. The grounds, pool, beach, restaurants are all first class without being pretentious. We highly recommend the St. Regis.

Superior facility, superior service.

This property is, without doubt, the only place to stay when traveling to Bora Bora. We have stayed elsewhere before, and the level of service, and diversity of activity and food offerings, are far superior here to the other competitors on the island. Everyone here knows who you are, when you arrived, when you will depart, where you are eating each evening, and which table or beach chair you prefer. This is, quite simply, the place to go.

The St Regis in Bora Bora was very luxurious. From the moment you land at the Airport the St. Regis goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. I would strongly recommend working with the property beforehand to arrange a transfer from the airport. Every room includes butler service. The property is 40ish acres so all the guests bike around or can easily get a ride on the golf cart. The hotel is absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed the lagoon where all the hotel guests can snorkel and see hundreds of fish. All the hotel rooms at the hotel are overwater bungalows or beachfront villas. We highly recommend the overwater bungalows. We had a blast jumping off our bungalow deck. The food is very pricey. Everything is imported so be prepared to spend hundreds per day on food. Overall we had an amazing time!

We stayed at the St Regis for part of our honeymoon - they had heart flower petals setup on the bed, a bottle of champagne and some sweets. The stay was fabulous - we had a beachside bungalow with a pool and it was perfect! Very clean, private and romantic. Even had a brand new hammock out on the edge of the beach perfect for watching the sunset. Butlers were very attentive arranging dinners and activities for us. Beach boys ensured we had everything we needed when lounging by the beach or pool, they constantly brought over ice water to keep us hydrated. We were upgraded to an over water bungalow for free mid way through our stay. Room was a little more worn than the beach side room and was not nearly as private but overall was a very cool experience to be able to jump right in to the clear water. If we were to go back I would get the beachside with a pool as it is more secluded and quiet.
