We expected to have dinner at Echo Lake but the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Expedia didn’t give us the right information.

I am 83 and still walking without the aid of a cane or walker, but I found the stairs to be perilous. Seniors should only book the place if they can get a first floor room.

Vermont Vibe.

This place felt very much like a Vermont Inn. The check in was friendly, we have to walk up 2 flights to our room. We got a suite and it was cozy but worked well for my son having his own room in the pull out. The decor leaned into the vermont vibe as well. The breastfast felt so welcoming and was a great way to start the day. (Wish it started earlier on Saturdays so we could make it the mountain when the lifts open and still enjoy our neal) Great value and I would come back.

This property offerw elegance without opulence. It feels cozy, the food is delicious, the staff all go out of their way to make you feel at home. The hot tub is wonderful after a cold day of skiing or a walk.

Lovely and relaxing inn

Echo lake inn is a cosy bed and breakfast a few miles from Okemo ski resort. It has a lovely character with a shared sitting room with a fireplace and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We were there for a few days skiing and it was a lovely respite after a day on the slopes. The breakfast was great and there was a games room downstairs with a pool table etc. The only drawbacks are there is no elevator and not a lot of hot water for showers at times. The surroundings are very pretty and it would be a lovely location at all times of the year. There are a number of fun restaurants a short driving distance away.

Great food but cold showers

Pros: The staff was very friendly. The food was superb. The wait staff in the dining room had to close the curtains to warm up the room even when they said the thermostat was set to 80 degrees. The bedroom was warm. The mattress sunk in the middle. The manager told us when we arrived that the plumbing was iffy and we may get cold water from time-to-time. He said the plumber was coming the next day. The showers were cold throughout our 3 day stay. We would recommend the restaurant.

Such a unique experience! I got to recharge- the inn keepers were so friendly and welcoming- you felt like you were at home! So close to Okemo - a 5 min drive.. food amazing.. a great hot breakfast !!!

Echo Lake Inn 7-26-17

We stayed at the Inn to visit the Innkeeper Tom Gionola who is an old childhood friend of my husband's. The Inn is gorgeous, well appointed with newly remodeled bathrooms, comfortable bedrooms, and outstanding dining room service and food selection. Sitting on the porch, sipping cocktails, watching the sun set, and catching up with old friends was just great. We wish Tom all the best running the inn.

Dinner was great, breakfast was great, the room is a little small, but fine. Things in the room are out dated, but that is part of the inn.

The shared jacuzzi never heated up, that was disappointing, but the innkeepers made it up to us.

dissapointing inn

Room was suppose to be deluxe - was so tiny! Bathroom tiny old shower stall with a old shower head no water pressure. No hooks to hang ski clothes / no where to sit but the bed. Old quilt smelled. Checkin couldn't fine my reservation.

Wonderful charming VT Inn; gourmet on-site dining.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely overnight at the Echo Lake Inn this weekend. It is a delightful bed and breakfast with a terrific staff. We had all the benefits of a hotel room with en suite bathroom, toiletries, hair dryer, and all of the charm of a country inn with common space such as a fireplaced living room and quaint tavern. The location is within easy reach of Ludlow and Killington so is a perfect destination for skiers. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the owner Tom. We ate dinner and breakfast at the inn and both were absolutely delicious. My husband and I spend a lot of time in New York City and the quality of the food was on a par with the high end restaurants there. Our waiter Kyle provided excellent service and our breakfast chef was welcoming and very accommodating with changes to the printed menu. In total, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn and highly recommend it.

Old world charming Inn

Average room with no frills. No elevator so be prepared to walk up two floors with suitcases. No closet for clothes hanging, small bathroom and no connection to reception. More like bed and breakfast type.
Rooms are close to route 100 and automobile and bike noise is an issue. Charming old style Inn with great location. Free breakfast was great. Small 14 inch TV in the room with cable.

Charming historical inn minutes from ski center.

As this is a historical inn, there is a sitting room, restaurant, and lounge area on the main floor. All rooms are on the upper floors without elevators. They have many nice touches including fresh flowers, book shelves on each floor, and beautiful rockers on the front porch. Outdoor pool, hot tub, access to rowboats & canoes, beautifully landscaped yard perfect for stargazing at night. Less than 10 minutes to Okimo ski center. Comfortable king and queen beds in a large room.

A great place to ski and stay

We had a great experience. The breakfasts were ok but the dinners were Great! It was so much better to be able to just go downstairs for dinner. The inn is recently under new management and they apparently have kept the existing staff on. Whatever they are doing it is working. The inn is wonderful and historic. The dinners are truly outstanding and the service is great as well.

Stayed during a drive across New England for a leaf-peeping fall foliage tour. The inn was frankly a little dated in decor, but was clean and also had a certain country charm. The service was exceptional - from the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we had the full attention of the staff. We ate dinner at the restaurant inside the inn. And we were extremely glad that we did! The meal was our best of our week-long trip. The bread pudding was simply the best I have ever had. The friendly service and exceptional food make this a very pleasurable experience. We'll be back!
