Fantastic Hotel right in the heart of Historic Rome..
Comfort Room was a good size but a little bit tired and could do with a paint... Bathroom was small but nice - although shower leaked everytime it was used... Bed was huge and comfy.. Towels, mini safe, kettle all suplied.
Room was \"cleaned\" every day, but floor was never swept..just bed made and towel change, bathroom tidied.. Breakfast was fantastic, and front desk staff were very helpful and approachable.. requested late checkout and was given an extra hour which was really appreciated.. 2-3* Hotel in the best location and to just sleep and shower was ideal...

Giorgio from the front desk was awesome! He was always ready to assist w/ anything we needed, from dinner recommendations, assistance w/ directions & arranging our ride to the airport. The specialty coffee w/ breakfast was a treat in the morning. We eat savory breakfast, w/c they did have, but we also loved the breakfast pastries from Roscioli. We were ready to start the day after each breakfast. It does help to not worry of where & what to eat first thing in the morning, although there are lots to choose from as you walk out of the hotel. We love to walk, we chose the hotel as its in the middle of everything we wanted to see & do. We walked to all the famous sites, except for our day trips to Florence & Venice where we took cabs to the Termini & Tiburtina stations, we walked everyday. Its less than 30min walk to the Colosseum, Piazza del Popolo, & the Vatican, 10mins to the Pantheon, less than 20 mins to the Trevi Fountain and less than 25 mins to the Spanish Steps. We didn't get to enjoy the rooftop bar as we were tired most nights that were back @ the hotel. We had 2 coupons for free Aperol but didnt get to use them, we left it on our hotel table, but couldnt find them when we were ready to use them on our last night. We think housekeeping may have accidentally discarded them.
Overall, a nice hotel thats centrally located, but not in a very crowded noisy area.

This is a clean, well appointed and centrally located hotel. While the rooms could be a little bigger, the location near the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori makes it an excellent choice for a visit to Rome. The staff was uniformly helpful, and the breakfast was included within the room rate. I would book a stay in this hotel again.

Great location, hotel, breakfast, and service. Room was tiny but very clean and well decorated. Next time, I would stay here but never again in the \"annex\" or in a room over the street. It was unbearably noisy above a late night bar with drunken revelers talking, singing, and shouting until 2am.

We will always come back to the Hotel Smeraldo. The rooms are so comfortable and clean. Breakfast is delicious, and the staff is very helpful. It’s also centrally located, which makes it easy to walk everywhere.

I really enjoyed my hotel stay. I was in a single bed room and though it was small it was the perfect size for one person. It was clean and the staff was very kind and helpful. The only thing that may be a problem for others is you could hear everything going on outside and through the walls. I am heavy sleeper so it wasn’t an issue for me. The location is great. I was able to walk everywhere I needed to go easily and there are great food options near the hotel. I would stay here again when I visit Rome again.

Incredible stay at this property. From the moment I arrived I was enthusiastically greeted by the front desk, given all of the information I needed and was given a room. The room was clean, and spacious with very comfortable bedding. The breakfast in the morning was top notch with an excellent selection of tasty food. The front desk staff greeted me by name when I came down and asked how my stay was. While walking out of my room even the house keeping staff asked how I slept, if I ate breakfast and how my overall stay was. Truly felt like a family and not a business.

My second time staying here - the staff are incredible, nothing is too much trouble, I was even personally escorted to a nearby restaurant on my first night as it was late. I had a “solo traveler” room with a balcony and it was perfect, the bed was comfy (a queen size) the shower was fantastic and the balcony was the perfect spot to chill. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and caters to all tastes, the pastries from Riscioli are so good and the coffee cannot be beaten. The location is superb with Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona and The Pantheon within 15 minutes (maximum) walking distance, beautiful side streets, restaurants on the doorstep and everywhere felt safe and welcoming - can’t wait to return here and to the beautiful city of Roma

The breakfast assortment was fantastic and the overall staff is very friendly and helpful. Roscioli is just a few steps across the hotel and they have good pizza. I would stay here again.

All of the staff at the Hotel Smeraldo were friendly. The Filipino housekeeping lady, that was always keeping the lobby area clean, was so sweet & kind. She always greeted us & made us feel welcomed. Their morning breakfast was delicious--we especially enjoyed the cappuccino & maritozzo! The hotel's location was excellent, we walked to nearly every venue, Colosseum, Vatican, Pantheon, Jewish Ghetto, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Borghese Gallery & Villa, Doria Pamphilj gallery, Travestere & Testaccio from there. We'd definitely stay there again if we visit Rome again. We loved the Hotel Smeraldo & Rome.

Traveling with family, we had 3 rooms. One was superior and the other two were comfort. The comfort was slightly smaller but otherwise they were all the same.
The front desk was friendly and welcoming and always willing to help out with a recommendation. The rooms were spotless, as were the common areas. Breakfast was good and the coffee was outstanding. They source their bread from the bakery across the street and it is amazing. Cute rooftop bar with very friendly staff. Highly recommend!
