Our biggest draw to stay here was due to that the facility was pet friendly. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous. Comfortable sleeping and shower is awesome with lots of pressure!

A great stop with our dog en route to St. Stephen border crossing. St. George is a cute seaside town between big city Saint John, and upscale resort St. Andrew by the Sea. The property is a family run (not chain) hotel, very nicely maintained but not super modern. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was serviceable.

The location was great for my stay, I could walk downtown in 5 minutes. The staff were very nice. The room has cable TV, mini fridge and microwave, though it is showing its age.
The continental breakfast hit the spot for me and I liked the coffee.

I recently stayed at the Granite Town Hotel and had an overall pleasant experience. The standout feature was definitely the staff – everyone I interacted with was incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly, which made a big difference in the quality of my stay.

The hotel room itself was a bit dated and could use some refreshing, but honestly, that added to the charm of an overnight stay. It felt cozy and had a bit of character, which I appreciated.

The location is excellent – just a short drive to town, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, or just exploring the area.

My only real complaint was the bed. It was advertised as a Sleep Number bed, but it definitely wasn’t – and it was far too soft for my comfort. A better bed would have made this a near-perfect stay.

Overall, if you're looking for great service, a convenient location, and a touch of old-school charm, Granite Town Hotel is worth considering. Just be ready for a soft bed!

The front desk attendants were helpful and courteous. The continental breakfast was okay. But the rooms were NOT up to any standard that I could see! The smell as we entered the room was musty so thought if we turned on the A/C and put on the fan we could atleast get some fresh air, that made it worse!! There were hairs on the bathroom floor and around the side of the tub (not belonging to me or my bf). Glad they didnt charge us for the 2 other guests...a spider and a large centipede in the tub! This will be the last time we ever stay in this location!! Do yourself a favor and pay a bit extra for a more upscale place in St. Andrews!!

We enjoyed our stay and the staff were helpful and friendly. We appreciated all the surrounding green space to take our dogs on walks. My suggestions are to have fresh brewed decaf coffee and less sugary cereal (bran flakes). The banana bread was excellent.

If you are interested in this property because of how cute all the pictures look, you will likely be disappointed. We stayed in the family suite, which is really set up like a honeymoon suite. It even has a big tub right next to the bed, and a table for two in the corner of the room. It was probably really great - in 1985. The whole place is really old, really dingy, and all of the common areas as well as our room had the thick smell of that familiar combination of old cigarette smoke and the products that motels use to cover it up. I'm sure that if I had used a rug cleaner on any carpet in the place the water would have come up black. And we paid a pretty penny for the experience, too. There aren't many lodging options in this part of the world, so you may choose to stay here anyway. But be prepared.

I had requested a room on the main floor as I have a disability. This was not fulfilled and there was no attempt made by the individual at check in to address the request. They were fairly abrupt in their answers and seemed to be more interested in another task that they were immersed in when we walked in. They had no other supports that they could offer i.e. a bath chair and all they could offer was a mat and a grab bar that needed suction and would not fit on the wall at all. I was disappointed.

A Disappointing Stay

Sadly, the room we were given had an AC unit that was so loud it was like trying to sleep beside a jet plane. During the night, the smoke alarm started chirping to indicate a low battery. The wrong number was posted at the front desk to get hold of someone to fix it, so it took multiple phone calls to get some help. The owner did come and changed the battery once we were able to connect with his wife. However, about an hour later (2:30 am) the chirping started again. The response was faster, and the solution was to remove the unit completely. To be fair, we were issued an formal apology in the morning and in lieu of the complimentary future stay we were offered, we were given a full refund for the night. The hotel has great potential but needs some work on the mechanics.

It advertises as ‘recently renovated’ but would benefit from some updates ….
We felt we could smell faintly old cigarette smoke at times.
The air conditioner was appreciated for sure but very, very noisy.
The staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful and very responsive to our questions and promptly replaced a broken lamp when we told them.
There are few places to eat in St George’s and all close early.

The property is well maintained inside and out. The staff is very pleasant. However, I am not sure how old the mattresses were. Mine had a noticeable dent in the center and was most uncomfortable. I finally put my extra pillow in the center to try and level out the mattress. Felt like I was trying to sleep in a ditch! The stopper was broken, yet available for use. Had to use one of the washcloths as a stopper. The towels and sheets were terribly thin.

My only request as a motorcyclist, please sweep the parking lot as it’s extremely hazardous with all the loose rocks and scree as I saw an older couple slide and almost

Our second stay was even better than our first at our lovely, cozy haven just this side of the US border. We got to know our host a little better, took a lovely stroll on the wooded trail, enjoyed the sunset and some of the best seafood at a nearby restaurant. Free continental buffet, an unbeatable price, cozy bed, clean bright bathroom and a quaint little window nook for us to eat, play cards and for me to catch up on my office work, overlooking the gardens full of hummingbirds. This is a rare treat… a comfortable, vintage-elegant little spot with a welcome home vibe, backlit with beautiful music always playing in the lobby. Thank you Renée!

The room I stayed in had quite a few scuffs on the baseboards that need to be repainted. The wall by the headboard had a stain on it, and there was a dead june bug in the bathroom light fixture. Also the hot and cold tap was backwards for the tub/shower

Aside from these minor complaints, the staff was friendly, the bed was very comfortable and soft, and the room was overall clean.
