Staff was not able to help during stay for extra bed. On expedia, it was showing us that 3 person can easily sleeps on king size bed. But hotel staff want us to pay extra for one more kid. Which was absurd . We paid extra for that. Overall experience for property was nice including rooms and food.

This is a truly beautiful hotel with amazing views over the lake. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.

We’ve stayed in 7 different 5 start hotels in different cities on our travels in India and this is by far the best.

Make sure you take the time for a swim with a view of you go here.

Sukhmani and Kanchan, provided great and ease in checking in and checking out. Food is truly authentic Indian and tastes absolutely great.

Urban tadka is great place to eat, excellent service. Manish provided above and beyond five star service. Suresh is another one with excellent customer experience. Chef Hamendra of urban tadka is amazing, kudos to him for having such an amazing buffet with variety over the days.

Pizza by the lake is also amazing. All pizzas here is authentic, very nice ambience and seating by the lake.

Frangipani by the lake, what a bar again amazing views!!

Loved our stay here, ended up extending our stay by another day!

I think this hotel doesn't deserve a 5-star rating.
We had 2 rooms booked and for both the rooms - toilet was dirty, AC had a bad smell.
Upon reporting, they offered us a couple of rooms (according to them the only available rooms) which had similar issues and had to have their toilet cleaned and use room freshener to cover up bad smell.
Their staff was not very well trained and some were even rude in the restaurant.
With all this bad experience, their staff didn't show courtesy to make us feel that they were sorry for it.

First the property is beautiful, and plenty of guests will be outside taking pictures for their social media pages. The staff was friendly and helpful, however the front desks was unmanned and all the lobby lights were off when I left at 530. Seems a bit odd. With minor wind and rain the power was going off and on over and over again. To its credit it never stayed off long but it was enough to not want to risk any elevator ride. The room was large, the bed was stiff but overall the room was clean but a bit worn. The location is a bit far from the main sights, this makes it quiet, but also leaves little in the area as far as food and drink options. Tuk tuks always await outside or walking to the palace takes about 20 minutes.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Delux lake view rooms offer unobstructed view of Fatehsagar lake. Breakfast buffet had a good spread. Transport desk helped us planning our days and arranged for very efficient driver.
Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The staff was amazing! From the people at the reception, the food, the waitresses were so sweet an accommodating!

The hotel is located in front of the lake. My room had a view to the pool.
I was able to arrange pick up and drop of from and to the airport.
It was a great way to begin my journey in India!

Comfortable and relaxing location

The checking in process was smoth and simple goven that it was a last mibtue booking. The room was comfortable, to an normal standard. The pool was relaxing as it overlooked the lake, although only one umbrella was working so could not sit by the lake. The restuarants offered a good selection, and tapas restaurant served tasty food. The breakfast, the local cuisine was of a good standard, however, the pastry section could have been alot fresher, as they were hard. The only other thing was patrons ettiequette to general standards, as some people were determined to play the touching game and proceeded to touch every item with their hands.

This property has a nice view, friendly staff and good breakfast and dining option. Staff went out of their way to assist. Rickshaw stand was right infront. We walked around the lake to other restaurants. Onsite restaurants were good too. The furniture and hardware is getting old but overall experience was awesome. Taruna at front desk gave excellent service.

The stay at this property was poor. There was a wedding at the property the next day and so there were multiple workers making noise constructing the stage etc. The day of the wedding, we were rushed to check-out ( as the whole hotel apparently was booked). The swimming pool was shut, the pizzeria was shut and the common areas were all taken over by the wedding. Even at breakfast in the morning we were hurried by staff to finish as they needed it clear for the wedding. Once checked out, we were waiting for our taxi and we’re delightfully greeted with unwelcome stares by the wedding party which made us very uncomfortable.

Obviously, in this specific situation the onus is on senior management. If we were notified prior to checkin that this would be the case, we would have booked elsewhere. Other hotels in the area which we stayed in kindly allowed usage of facilities without a problem.

The staff at this hotel however were very nice and catering and in no way is this their fault- we understand that they are simply following instructions from management.

The room was clean (contrary to other reviews) and they made the effort of delivering a cake to our room for Valentines Day.

Overall, I would not recommend staying here. It is clearly a wedding hotel and members of the public should not have been able to book the hotel during this. I am disappointed and would like compensation for the distasteful experience which we had.

Our stay at Lakend was very inconvenient as there was a wedding preparation going on, so we could not enjoy the lake front view & property, it was very noisy as they were preparing for the setup for the wedding, constant hammering on wood panels & workers screaming on top of there voices was heard throughout the day & night as well. We couldn’t see the view of the lake from our window as we were allocated room on the first floor & the wedding mandap was blocking our view, we had paid extra money for the lake view.Next morning there was lot of chaos & disturbance, loud talks in the corridor as people were checking in for the wedding. At last I would like the management to not to a lot rooms to tourist who have come for their vacation & want to enjoy the view,property & peace.

This is a lovely hotel and good value for the location. Staff are all excellent. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Good beds showers and facilities. The small gym is good and the pool was excellent- the cleanest we experienced in India. (Credit to the guys on duty around the pool they were excellent)
Front desk staff were so helpful (especially Rhada and Bibek) Also the staff and food at Pizza by the lake were amazing. Breakfast was good and also well organised.

Hotel price should be around ₹2k a night since it shouldn’t be a 4 star not ₹17k A NIGHT!!!I can’t get into details as it was THAT BAD but I wannna be nice to other customers so here’s a summary

This was a recommendation however sadly we arrived early at noon and waited for the time of check in which was at 1pm and 1.45pm i started to moan as still the room was not ready, we had travelled 24hrs and were exhausted. I appreciate the manager made contact and left a bottle of red wine in the room for the non drinkers that we were. Although I wish that never happened as it would have been a better stay.

This hotel is wedding hotel, when we checked in there were many issues in room and in hotel. This is wedding hotel and when we checked in throughout there was lots of wedding stage construction work started and very noisy and UNSAFE. They were lifting big metal structure while guests present in area, I also saw bare electrical wires live. The hotel restaurants and all common areas were taken over by wedding planner, there was nothing left for non-wedding guests. I complained t the manger and general manager but it was like talking to Brick wall. This is wedding hotel and not for normal guest. I saw young children playing very next to unsafe electrical cable by near to swimming pool and common area. I reported this to the hotel management several times. Rooms are ok, I could see pile of rubbish from my room on the lawn outside in attached photo. this rubbish was from wedding just left in common area. We paid lots of money to stay in this hotel, if we would have known these thing would have definitely not booked. I think they should not take booking from non wedding guest when wedding or wedding preparation or post wedding dismantling happening.

Hotel Lakend is an excellent place for a staycation. Right off the lake with wonderful views of the lake and the city, delicious food options available on-site, a beautiful rooftop restaurant with great ambience and all-in-all amazing staff, from reception to restaurant wait staff. Concierge gave great suggestions for touring the city, the entire place is extremely clean and serene.

We absolutely liked the spacious room with the an amazing lake view from our window. The staff were all excellent. Bathroom design is odd. (i,e) toilet seat right there in the middle of the bathroom in front of the wash basin. and the shower doors are clean glass (see through). so if 1 person brushes or uses toilet or in shower, no other person can enter in to that area, The light switch controls were odd. it is not intuitive to switch on or off certain lights. the switch board for the lights itself is lit and is so bright at night. Food choices were very good. 1 think I had to say about the check in process. we came little before the check in time. and had to wait for the room to get ready. While we were ok to wait, what was annoying was that we were not kept updated of how much roughly the wait was. The comminucation we felt was a little bad. The staff were all good and did their best to deal with this, But to not know if there will be a wait and if there is, how much roghly is the waut. kept us in a limbo and not able to plan better, it seemed like a 5 mnin wait at some point. but then took several minutes. had we known if there was such a long wait. we could have used that time to plan our day better. So definitely a feedback for a smooth check in process. we saw other people were also waiting in the waiting area. like us not sure for the same reasons though

Good hotel - fab location and pool

Really enjoyed our stay here, it was in such a good location and having the pool looking out on the quiet lake was spectacular. We could walk to town in 20 mins or a 5 mins rickshaw.
Breakfast was good but not as good as other places we stayed. We tried the pizza restaurant and that was good. The outside area for drinks was nice too.
The hotel let us check in very early after an overnight train and that was fantastic and unexpected. They made our stay very comfortable and I think it was a good value stay. Would recommend to anyone visiting Udaipur, compared to other places we saw the pool was much better with more space for sunbathing/relaxing.

We had a very warm welcome on arriving to the hotel. Himanshi escorted us to the room and reviewed everything available in the room. She was very cordial. This hotel lake view is a must stay for the area. Only drawback I experienced is the facial included a deep facial massage which really was more than I expected and due to prior treatment I was a bit sore afterwards. Besides this experience I give this hotel a Plus rating.

Let me first say whats not good and then whats good. This property is far away from the 5 star rating Expedia gave. I would rate it as a 3 star and the price should be half of whats listed.

Not good:

1. Cleanliness - Faucets let out black colored water
2. Towels were dirty - white - but greyed from use or not being clean
3. Bathrooms are filthy - old - some mold and scaled
4. Bed sheets were not clean and bed was saggy
5. Everything is very old and it smells like cheap motel

1. Property location is great
2. Staff is good and courteous
3. Views are amazing from the lake side rooms
4. This would be a good hotel if the price was half and it was listed at a 3 star

It was lake facing, quite, serine..Just the vacation we as family were looking for. The staff was good..the room was hygenic and food was excellent.

From an improvement perspective -
The TV was not operational (although thats the last thing I would like to watch)

When we reached the property we were not welcomed as guests (did not get the vibe), nobody guided me to parking, there was no one to pick up our luggage. Considering this as a 4-Star property, this was the least I was expecting.

Overall I would rate my overall stay 4.95 on scale of 5.

The bathrooms smelled bad. We changed rooms and the new one also still smelled bad and had visible gunk in the drains. The lighting was unpleasant. The elevator fire alarm went off at 11pm right as we were trying to sleep. The power also went out for a good minute or two in the middle of our stay. The manager Deepak was very nice and helpful, and the front desk staff were nice - but the hotel itself was not in good condition. The view is amazing, and the food is good. However, at this $150+ per night price point I would recommend going elsewhere based on the quality of rooms and bathrooms. I disagree with the classification of this being a 5 star hotel.

Vacation trip for married couple from USA

Hotel Lakend is a beautiful property situated right on Lake Fateh Sagar. We have stayed at lake front properties before and this one maintained a great level of cleanliness that can't be said of other places. The front desk was able to communicate in English well and was very accommodating. The breakfast that is included is phenomenal and has various hot and cold dishes- including plenty of juices and made to order dosa/uttapam/stuffed paratha chefs. The restaurant on the rooftop is also very good and a great change of pace from the normal cuisine you get in the city. The room was great with enough room and access to constant hot water. They also provided us with 2 bottles of water and various soft drinks for free every day after room service. Would stay at same property if we went back!

As I was getting ready to get into bed I noticed food stains on the sheets and about 25-30 dead mosquitoes by the pillow. None of the 3 rooms across my party had towels upon arrival. One of us found out only after the shower. The other never received any towels after we requested. I booked a hot stone massage for 10am, get to the spa, and the stones aren't ready so had to settle for standard aromatherapy. Finally, my dad was walking out of the hotel in the morning and an employee stopped him and said, \"sir, you cannot leave until you pay.\" Needless to say the room was pre-paid for. If you choose to stay here, best of luck...

Pros: excellent location of the lake and nice evening views

Cons: poor service from staff, often have to ask for things several times before you get it, overall maintenance of the property seems to be lacking and a bit dated, very old bedding and towels,

Nice location but definitely NOT a 5 star property, I’d give it a 3.5 stars, needs to improve its service quality

A nice bit of luxury on the edge of a fantastic ci

Lovely hotel, great view of lake. Lovely western and Asian breakfast. Tuk tuk £1.40 in to center and Palace. Restaurant good but lovely restaurant on corner of road just up from Lakend.

Decent hotel with decent service. Location is not optimal being on Fatehpur Lake, instead of Lake Pichola, but it's still on a lake. Didn't feel like hotel set-up to optimally take advantage of the lake though as my suite didn't even face it. Staff was fine, but only did what was necessary and didn't go out of their way to help. Hotel building was clean and comfortable, but seemed like it could use a renovation to compete with others.

Hotel was ok at first glance. We stayed two nights and had no hot water each time we had a shower. They finally fixed the issue each time but not without a lot of back and forth and repeated front desk calls and complaints. At one stage they offered to move us to a room with a view ( at night) and a bucket of hot water. Breakfast was less than average ended up just having toast with jam. Did notice others with bacon but was not able to find it.

This is a middle class property, in a pretty setting close by but away from the hustle of mid town Udaipur. Staff are lovely as you’d expect. Hotel is very dirty though. My room inside was OK but next to my suite there was a corridor filled with spare bed and cleaning supplies and trash. The stairs leading to outside were absolutely filthy. The view from my suite room had trash bags blown into the bougainvillea. And a view of an empty field filled with trash along with “partial lake view.” That said, this is India and the property isn’t expensive by western standards. And it’s only 100INR to get to the heart of city palace in a tuk tuk outside.

Run down. Towels and sheets are worn out. Bathrooms and floors could be cleaner. Staff need to be able to understand basic English which wasn't always the case.

I was very pleased with my stay here. The hotel is comfortable, beautiful, and clean. The rooms were very spacious and clean. However, the beds vary room to room. I had a mattress topper on my bed so I slept like a baby. My sister and her husband did not get so lucky and said their bed was too hard. Apart from that they had a great stay as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very enjoyable. We ordered pizza and fires which was nice comfort food after 10 days in India. The hotel grounds are beautiful. We would sit out by the pool at night or during the day drinking beer and gazing at the lake.

We stayed a night at Hotel Lakend, very comfortable stay. Spacious rooms and huge bathrooms, great service and excellent breakfast buffet. The view from Hotel grounds is amazing day and night. Prefer the rooms with balcony.

Nice upscale place for a comfortable stay

Lake-view room with 2 beds. Balcony with panoramic view of the lake and the hills. Area is quiet, but there are also no services in the nearby area. Checkin/checkout were painless. Desk staff was kind enough to print out our boarding passes. Food in restaurant was tasty and of high quality. We opted to get dinner included in our room cost, which gave us unlimited access to the dinner menu. Alcoholic beverages available in dining room at western prices, but don't forget they add about 30% in various taxes and fees. We were on a busy tour schedule, so had very little time to actually enjoy the amenities of the hotel. If I could go back in time, I would have booked a less expensive place for these 2 nights and possibly a place a little more centrally located. However, the hotel and its staff are lovely and this will make for a lovely stay if you choose to book here. One tip though: the ;free minibar; they advertise had exactly 3 soft drinks and a bottle of water in it. The water and the soft drink we consumed the first night were not replaced when the room was serviced the next morning.
