The staff was lovely and breakfast beautiful but not anything hot. Just cold hard boiled eggs. Would have likes a hot breakfast but what was there was delicious. Rooms were small but clean. Showers waaaaay too small. Cruise ship shower is bigger.

This was an excellent hotel for our visit a bit of a walk into the centre. Make sure you book parking before hand we thought it was included but they had no space so had to park on the road, but it was safe. Have to make a comment about the breakfast as it was amazing. Having traveled around Europe for the past two week this by far the best. All freshly made and presented amazingly. Would definitely recommend

The hotel is advertised as a 4 stars, it has the potential of being one... the rooms are very nice and so was the bathroom however some details... The toilet seat was yellow and grim, the plastic around the shower was loose and folded, the bottom of the door in the bathroom was also moulded. there was a hole in the ceiling of the bathroom too. Breakfast was great and staff is very friendly. A nice hotel that with those details taken care of would be great!

A fantastic experience

So having recently been to Trieste for business, I booked this hotel not really knowing the city at all, and I am glad I did! From an incredibly courteous and helpful staff, amazing breakfasts, and first rate rooms everything was excellent. I have travelled in Europe many times, and this is one of the most comfortable hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in. While not as central as some hotels, a ten minute trip on the 15/16 bus route gets you right into the center. A great place to stay!

Comfortable, modern hotel off the beaten path

A comfortable stay. Clean, modern decor. Good breakfast. Some distance uphill from the city centre: an easy half-hour walk downhill, into the city; more of a struggle on the way back! Bus (#8) is an alternative, with bus-stop c.150m away.
Only issue I had was a lack of ironing facility, which is an absolute necessity for business travellers. Delighted to say the receptionist took it upon himself to iron my shirt!

Small hotel with family run atmosphere.

Trieste is well worth seeing a bit off the tourist trail but better for that. Lots of historical interest, fine varied architecture, central piazza, sea front harbour , period cafes, Cathedral & many churches - catholic, orthodox, and a synagogue. places to eat. Miramare Castle worth a visit and by local cheap bus service. Trips to Slovenia & Croatia are available. Travel from airport to Trieste Centre expensive by taxi (60 Euros) , but regular bus only 6 Euros! Trieste can be very windy at times - first 2 days there was a strong gusting cool wind the 'Bora' which can knock you off your feet, although it was clear, warm & sunny and still for the next 2 days.

The hotel is new and the staff very helpful with support, directions, etc. The only bad part is the hotel has not been maintained very well. The room fridge was removed due to it not working, the TV had troubles, the toilet ran at times, and one cabinet door fell off. It was Italy, so it is all overlooked.

Seemed more like someone's house than a hotel. Location hard to find. It was in a neighborhood. Some may like that, others not so much. Breakfast was a light continental with fresh baked goods. Parking may be a challenge. Would I stay there agai, probably.

This is a great, out of the way place in Trieste. The staff are very friendly to make up for the location not being in the centre of the action. That being said, Trieste is very walkable and we walked to town a couple of times a day with no problems.

5 days in September. Plus some notes on Trieste

First of all the staff was excellent. Especially when compared to the general population of Trieste. The breakfast was good and the staff attentive at breakfast.

Location. It's in a quiet area, not much of a view. We got into a routine of walking into the downtown core in the mornings. It's about a 30 minute walk to the main squares by the ocean. 80% of it downhill. We took cab's back as there is some significant hills to overcome walking.

From the MapQuest view it would seem the hotel is close to beaches but this is not the case. This is not a beach city. It's a seaport and gateway hub to Slovenia, Austria and Germany.

This is a boutique hotel in a residential area in a city that's not really touristy.

The hotel itself was fine, but it's location wasn't ideal. I was expecting it to be a little out of the main town, but was not expecting the very steep hill which you had to go up/down on the recommended route to get to any restaurants/bars/sights.

Good value for money

Nice boutique style hotel located in residential area about 5min on bus from the city centre; if you like staying away from typical tourists places then go for it; there are 2 buses from the main station which take you to the hotel 8 and 30; the bus stop is a short walk about 3 min but be aware that you need to climb the stairs; hotel staff really nice and helpful especially Spanish speaking lady on reception; very nice breakfast, cold buffet style; wide choice of cakes. I did enjoy my stay. One thing i was missing in a room was a tea and coffee making facilities.

Great hotel for families with children

I can't say enough about Le Corderie. Our entire stay was enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was outstanding (Nutella pie, need I say more?), and the staff were warm and friendly. One of the receptionists was especially kind and spent time playing with our young son and daughter, making us feel right at home. The lobby is full of toys for children, making this hotel our daughter's favorite. Travelling with young children can be difficult, so it was a relief to find a place that made us feel so at home and comfortable. We even stayed an extra night, because our experience was so pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Best apartment in 5 week trip to Europe.

Absolutely loved this apt. So clean, spacious, and unique. Manager was amazing and so helpful. He helped us buy bus tickets, showed us how to use the washer/dryer, made recommendations for restaurants, told us how to use local transportation, etc. Apt. windows open onto park and the unit is very light. Bed is very comfortable with high quality linens. Bathroom is very large and modern. Great shower. Bus stop just across the street and takes 30 seconds to get there. Loved the free and secure parking. Also since it's a no smoking building, there is no stale odor. Very tastefully decorated.

Good hotel, quiet location, friendly staff

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. This is quite a small hotel (15 rooms) so quite nice. The hotel is not exactly central so there was about a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Trieste, but we did know about this before we booked .We decided to book the hotel as the reviews we very good. I have to say that the staff were really friendly and helpful. There have been lots of comments about the breakfast being fantastic, but I have to say this consisted of quite a lot of fruit, pastries, cake,cold meats , cheeses and frittata . We did have an issue with the air conditioning in our room as we were advised to leave it on while we were out, but one night in started leaking so we had to turn it off. We mentioned this to the hotel and they looked at if straight away. If you don't mind being out of the centre of Trieste I would recommend Le Corderie if you like a smaller hotel with a bit more of a personal touch. Even the hotel cat 'Corda' was friendly!

The pluses: Clean and modern room and bathroom. Great service: friendly and relaxed while also professional. Lovely breakfast buffet including lots of baked pastries, fresh fruit and good coffee too. Hotel is small enough to feel cosy. The minus: not in the centre - it's about a 15 minute walk. Still it's a picturesque city so the walk is quite nice. This is my second stay at Le Corderie and I would go back again.

Great stay

This is a great hotel in the middle of Triese. The staff were fantastic and the compimentary breakfast was superb. I would recommend that you use a taxi in the middle of Trieste to initially find the hotel as it would save you time and frustration in finding this up to date hotel. Well worth the money.

Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast selection. The wheelchair accessible room was accurately represented (toilette, roll-in shower). Room size adequate. Tucked away in an interesting neighborhood and a 5 minute drive from the Piazza dell' Unita'. Church with bells nearby, piazzale with childrens playground, small supermercato, bars, etc. With a sports gym nearby it can sometimes be noisy during the day, but, then again, why would you be sitting in the hotel during the day? Indoor parking (for a fee) realistically can handle only one car. Parking on the street can usually be found, but expect that sometimes it will be difficult to find.

Lobby art and room art depicts the building's history. It was a rope factory that made the large ropes required to moor the ships in port. Therein lies the source of its name.

The hotel caught us by surprise by the comfort,friendlyness,excellent location ( you can reach the fort and the central places within max 15' walk). There is a wonderful outsite space for breakfast as well as for leisure when coming home after a long day full of impressions. The breakfeast is one of the best I ever had: presented for the eye to start a wonderful day. You can park your car in the garage or will find a parking place outsite.The photos in the internet really reflect reality; A wounderful place to come back.

Very impressed

When I booked this hotel there was a 25% discount for staying 2 nights or more. That brought it into my price range and I am so glad to have stayed there. Its 4 stars are definitely deserved as it is of much higher quality than the 3 star hotels I've stayed in in Trieste.

The hotel was immaculate and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was great with good air conditioning and excellent furnishings. The breakfast was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked with a selection of brioches, cakes, fruit, prosciutto and even an excellent Tiramisu. It was even possible to take breakfast outside on the terrace.

The hotel is further from Piazza Unita than many others. That meant it was in a quiet neighbourhood but if you don't like uphill walking this may not be for you.

Overall, I thought this was an excellent hotel and I would love to stay there again.

Charming little hotel, nice breakfast

The room on the ground floor is below expectations. It is noisy, has no fridge, the windows overlook the entrance of the hotel end (no privacy) and the A/C unit is very loud. The room on the second floor was good.
Also, we were sorry to hear that there was no parking spot left because we arrived too late. It should be disclosed on the profile of the hotel that parking spaces are limited.
On the other hand, breakfast was wonderful! Wide selection and high quality. It was a nice experience to start the day.

Das Hotel war ein echtes Fundstück in Triest! Das Hotel befindet sich in einem Wohngebiet und hat gerade einmal 15 Zimmer. Von außen unscheinbar, innen sehr chic und exklusiv. Das Personal extrem freundlich und spricht englisch. Ein großer Supermarkt in ca. 10min fussläufig erreichbar. In der Nachbarschaft ein paar einfache aber gute Restaurants. Frühstück sehr gut und alles sehr liebevoll. Es gibt auch eine Hausbar mit einem gutem Sortiment. Zum Zentrum ist es auch nicht weit, zu Fuss wie auch mit dem Bus.

Second time I've stayed here. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. My favorite part though is the neighborhood, very quiet but everything is readily available (free parking, bars, bus stop etc).
Although there are more famous (and expensive) options near Piazza Unità, I prefer to stay at Corderie.

l'hotel si presenta bene, la camera è ampia, ben arredata. il bagno ampio ma la doccia è assolutamente inadeguata, troppo piccola. attenzione il parcheggio non esiste, c'è un garage solo per una vettura, quindi domandate prima di selezionare l'hotel pensando di avere a disposizione un parcheggio. il buffet della colazione è ottimo, ma la sala è inadeguata per goderne. tavolini troppo piccoli e soprattutto le sedute non sono per una sala da colazione, bassissime da terra, circa 35 cm, chi si siede arriva al tavolino solo con la testa!!!!!

Camera ben curata nell'arredo e pulita, con un bel bagno, silenziosa seppur affacciata sulla strada e fornita di climatizzatore. Le aree comuni sono arredate in modo curato e particolare senza risultare pacchiane. Colazione ottima, abbondante e varia. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Ottima posizione per raggiungere il centro anche a piedi. Rapporto qualità/prezzo più che buono!

Qualche pecca, ma buona volontà.

Nuova gestione. Ragazzi front desk bravissimi. Purtroppo hanno ancora problemi con quanto a loro dire derivi da vecchia gestione (macchie moquette, lampade mancanti, caldaia bloccata di notte) ma i ragazzi stanno mettendocela tutta ed migliorare.

Abbiamo soggiornato all’Hotel Le Corderie una notte nel mese di agosto. L’hotel non si trova in zona centrale, ma ha un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo ed è stato questo il motivo che ci ha spinti a sceglierlo (anche se purtroppo abbiamo avuto un po’ di difficoltà di parcheggio poiché non è presente un garage e non vi sono posti auto riservati).

Siamo stati accolti con cortesia e ci è stato anche offerto un aperitivo di benvenuto. Le stanze sono piccoline, ma pulite e ben accessoriate e anche il bagno seppur piccolino è completo di tutto il necessario.
Abbiamo usufruito della culla per nostra figlia di sette mesi e un consiglio che ci sentiamo di dare alla struttura è quello di comprare un materasso aggiuntivo, perché quello in dotazione è insufficiente (noi abbiamo messo delle coperte per far stare più comoda la piccola). A parte questo, soggiorno piacevole, personale cortese e disponibile e colazione buona ed abbondante.

El acceso al Hotel es a través de unas escaleras, lo cual lo hace bastante incómodo si llevas equipaje pesado. Si llegas relativamente pronto consigues aparcar en la calle. El desayuno no es muy extenso, pero tiene a su favor la consideración de ofrecer productos sin gluten. El personal es muy amable. No cobran por las mascotas, Al menos por las pequeñas mi perrita pesa 1 kilo Y eso junto con el tema de los alérgenos es muy de agradecerles. Las habitaciones son pequeñas, pero están limpias. Hace bastante calor y el aire acondicionado no tiene suficiente fuerza. En general volvería a alojarme aquí, porque los pros superan los contras.

Flott hotell.

Flott lite hotell med hyggelig personale. Delikat frokost, velkomstdrink når vi sjekket inn. Et lite stykke å gå opp fra sentrum, men til gjengjeld stille og greit å finne parkering. Airconditionen fungerte veldig bra. Gode senger, putene kunne vært mykere. Veldig rent. Vanndispenser på gangen var et stort pluss.

The staff was polite, the room spacious enough, the toilet was spacious and good as well. A serious drawback is the lack of acceptable internet connection in the room (and its not much better in the lobby). Another issue is the breakfast which leaves much to be desired, the waitress/cook offered no coffee nor frying of eggs upon taking the table and intentionally tried to avoid customers so they wouldn't ask anything of her even though the hotel advertises these services.

für italienische Verhältnisse ein schönes Hotel

Wir nutzten das Hotel als Ausgangspunkt um den Süden Sloweniens zu erkunden. Das Hotel/Zimmer war sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war ... italienisch, viel Süßes sonst wenig Auswahl. Die eine Matraze war etwas durchgelegen aber noch ok. Die Fotos vom Hotel und Zimmer entsprechen der Realität und für italienische Verhältnisse ein schönes Hotel.

Schönes Hotel in Triest

Ein Hotel, das in Summe die gesamten Anforderungen bestens erfüllt hat, lediglich das Wlan war mäßig bis gar nicht zu gebrauchen, da sehr langsam und nur mit Unterbrechungen nutzbar gewesen.

Sonst alles bestens, ruhige Lage und doch fußläufig nahe dem Stadtzentrum -> gerne wieder!

ruhiges Hotel

am ersten Tag beim Frühstück um ca. 9 Uhr wurde leider nicht mehr nachgefüllt. Die Eierspeise war kalt. Wir kamen am ersten Tag so ca. 15:30 Uhr zurück ins Hotel und das Zimmermädchen war noch nicht da. Sie wollte dann so um 16:00 Uhr hinein, dies verneinten wir.
