The room was extremely small and not as advertised. The sink was tiny, causing water to spill when washing, and there was dust under the bed and on the bedside table.

The key policy felt unnecessary and the reasonis ridiculous, and when I asked to keep my key, the attendant asked if I was afraid they’d steal from me, extremely unprofessional.

Checkout was inconvenient. No one was at the desk, we waited 6-7 min but we had to catch a train, I've been told i will get an invoice by email but I never received anything!

Overall it was ok. The staff was nice and friendly.
But, The room is tiny with very little room to move around. The bathroom and shower were even smaller. For the price it’s way over priced. We paid because we made the reservation last minute and we didn’t have very many choices.
The TV was all in French with no ability to add Netflix or to cast anything so it left us with watching movies on our laptop.
There’s no room for your luggage in the room. We had to remodel the room to accommodate our 2 pieces.
Breakfast was 14 euros per person- it had a lot of variety so for the selection it was priced ok.
Elevator was also very tiny it would only fit us 2 and our 2 pieces or luggage and no more.
This room was more for 1 person 1 piece of luggage and a laptop —no more than that.

The staff were not helpful and often times were rude. I had to work during my stay and the only wifi available was unsecured with no password required. I asked if there was a secure network available and no one could give me an answer - so I could not work from the hotel.

They also require that you leave your key card at the desk every time you leave the hotel. The big problem I had was the staff switched out so often that no one remembered which room I was in and I had to tell them every time. Who's to stop anyone from saying my room number?

I paid too much for what the stay was worth. If you can get a good price then this hotel will do fine for the basics.

Overall, it's kind of OK: a very basic hotel that could benefit from some simple improvements. There's very little that seems professional about it. The most annoying things were the fact that there was no shower cabin, just a curtain, making the bathroom a wetroom for no reason. After a shower, the whole floor is wet, which is awful until it dries. And apparently there is no housekeeping – or maybe you have to specifically request it, but that wasn't made clear anywhere. There's also a strange policy of leaving your keycard at the desk when leaving, which I've not encountered anywhere else in the the dozens of hotels I've stayed in. They don't require any ID to collect it – the man who handed back my keycard had never seen me before, for instance.

I like the hotel location, but room 6 was not great. It was a room for handicapped (which is great for the Hotel to offer one), but the shower in the bathroom only had a shower curtain and the water just went all over the floor! Pretty dangerous to walk around the bathroom on a wet floor between the toilet & the sink! When I questioned the room, I was told I wanted a big bed?? All other rooms had large beds. Plus it’s on the 1st floor right by the entrance, not too much privacy!

Crazy strong cleaning smell in the room like toxins. Wouldn’t go away even after opening window. Did not look like photos. You might be on the ground floor, a couple steps from the check in desk. There are hundreds of other hotels at the same price point that are much much nicer.

It was a lovely hotel. They helped us with adjustments when the local airport cancelled the flight unexpectedly. They helped us and we appreciated it. The staff are friendly. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic really enjoyed it👌 . Don't know why we left it till the last day to have a breakfast. We'd have had one every day if we could turn back the clock. Excellent for Metro Raspail to get to the centre of Paris. Great location near Montparnasse 👍

Room was comfortable, but the twin beds are very small.
Bathroom could do with a shower door rather than a plastic curtain. Also very small, you have to be careful not to burn yourself on the radiator whilst using the sink. We had no hot water on the first day.
Room information states mini bar - it was an empty fridge, not even a bottle of water was supplied. In room tea and coffee facilities are also very poor.

Location is good but overpriced for what it is.

Needs to be upgraded or lower the price.

My mom stayed at this hotel on a separate trip and when I found myself with a few extra days in Paris, she highly recommended this one. Great restaurants all around and prime location near the metro. Very safe and quiet and the rooms are exactly as offered. Definitely French sizing, but when in Paris, you only need a hotel room to sleep otherwise you're out exploring and having fun. Perfect spot to come back to!

Brief stay at the Istria. Great location - one block from Blvd. Montparnasse, twenty yards from the Raspail Métro stop. Hôtel is clean, with small rooms typical of older Paris hotels.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially when dealing with jet-lagged Americans.

Good location but room for improvement

The location is great but the rooms are small (and not soundproof like the description says) and the bathrooms are a bit dingy with very small showers. Cleaning of rooms only if requested, but happy to give more towels as needed at the desk. Coffee costs £2 in the lobby, which seems like a bit of a rip off.

All of the receptionists were nice. One of them went out of her way to help with a taxi reservation and for getting me booked for one night I missed.

I'm not a big fan of the area as there's not a ton going on, but I'd stay there again. Their rates were excellent.

Not bad, had a very large inconvenience at checkout as they charged me twice and I am awaiting a return on the 2nd charge. Other the that nice price. Close to the Catacombs but not much else. About an hours walk to the tower, although with a lime scooter only takes about 15 to 20 min.

Looks ok from photos, but this is really a poor hotel. It’s cramped and the decor is old and shabby. Double bed was two singles pushed together so you wake up in the night falling between them. Shower was very small and not really useable.
To be charged over €220 a night is an absolute disgrace! I’ve stayed in much better for €50 a night!

We arrived, the room was extremely small, the lights did not work, the bathroom sink was plugged. When we asked the manager to fix it he said he could not fix it until the next day, he was not friendly at all. After we got upset he said he would try to fix it. He fixed the light, but not the sink. The location was good, but we paid a significant amount for poor service.

The room was the size of a cracker box, the shower miserable, the carpet stained, etc. Think of anything that would make a room comfortable and it was lacking. I chose the hotel because of its history to Montparnasse, but never again. Stay away, spend a little more, and you’ll leave Paris with a much more pleasant memory.

The room is exceptionally small for two people. The tea and coffee stocks in the room are mean, the shower was not adjustable, just hanging off the wall, alltogether there is a general feeling of cheapness. I never seen so tiny towels for adults in a hotel.

The hotel is situated close to the Metro stop Raspail which has an Art Nouveau sign at Street Level It is within walking distance of the Orly airport bus and the hop on bus top is also close by.The catacombs were fully booked so we didn't look for their location.There are plenty of restuarants in the area and a shuttle bus is available to the airport.English is spoken by some of the staff.We had a very pleasant stay here

My stay at this hotel was okay. This hotel is okay if you are looking for a cheap one-night stay like I had, but not for any longer. The hotel room is lacking in cleanliness, comfort, and the bathroom was dirty and neglected. Definitely not for a comfortable stay - more of a transition night on your holiday.

You have to pay for the coffee/tea by the kettle in your own room - and it is expensive for a cheap instant coffee brand. Service is not great.

the rooms was clean and tidy and good shower and bathroom recently decorated , room was small but perfectly functional and the wifi was proficient and easy to use with a good signal .

not much sound proofing between rooms , but to be fair was only their to sleep

most of the staff friendly apart from one grumpy reception staff on check in , but the other members of staff were pleasant and welcoming which made up for it .

I did not have the breakfast .

I found the location of this hotel as perfect , walking distance to Monparnesse train station , with lots of excellent restaurants with set menus of between 25 to 40 euros , was also easy to get into the center of paris either by walking or metro and was quite enough at night to get a good night sleep

If you can get pass the size of the room, this is a great place to stay at. It's convenient for a traveler staying for a couple of days. The bus lines, metro, and rer are at the corners of the the hotel. The staff was polite and the rooms were clean. No shower head but a shower hose and you had to bath yourself. You do have to leave the key with the hotel receptionist, but the do verify who you are before returning the key.

Comfortable stay in Paris

This hotel may not be a resort hotel you come to expect in Paris. I chose it because of its location, price, and its charm. Location is conveniently close to four Paris Metro and RER train stops. One major station that is 10 minute walking distance is the Gare Montparnasse. It has a nice good size room large enough to maneuver and space big enough for your large luggages. What I dislike is you have to check in your room key whenever you leave for the day. Upon returning you ask for your key back. This is what upset me: they didn't ask for my identification to see if that room key belongs to me. They just give it to you just by saying a room number. Any stranger can go in to my room which might lead to theft. Folks, you need to ask for identification. I don't care if I am inconvenieneced when asked. It is better to be safe than sorry. Either you do this or you allow your guest to keep their room key the entire time. Maid service is good.

We arrived early and were able to check in. We were given our room key, but when we got to the room it hadn't been cleaned ( bed unmade, trash not emptied, dirty towels on the floor). The man at the desk immediately called whoever should have done it and asked for it to be done straight away.
After that, it was fine. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean. A little cramped for 2 people though and we could hear the other guests through the walls. All the staff were very pleasant, we had the breakfast which was good - breads, jams, cheeses, meats, cereals, fruit, etc.

We were prepared for the room to be small, very difficult for two people with luggage. Our real displeasure with the hotel was the staff. Very unfriendly, we felt we were a bother if we had a question. Also, if you are a coffee drinker, bring your Nescafe singles, they have a hot water pot, but only \"lime tea\". Coffee in lobby is $2.50.

This hotel is on a quiet street, close to a metro line. The room is very small, so if you travel with a couple of bigger suitcases you will have a hard time fitting them in the room and still be able to move around. The rooms are packed so you will hear and be heard by people in neighboring rooms.

The staff is what disappointed us the most. The communication is very difficult due to their limited knowledge of English and mine of French. The very last day their credit card machine was broken and they couldn't accept none of our credit cards (I had no cash as they said they accepted credit cards) - and made us run to the bank to take out cash so we could pay for the room (that cost me extra dollars in bank fees). They actually locked down hotel and grabbed our bags until we paid, and got even physical grabbing my hands so I don’t go out the door unless I pay- it was out of this world! Their machine was down but they treated us as criminals. I ran to the bank but because of it missed our connection to the airport and had to take a taxi (about 80 euros). They did not want to pick up the taxi expense although they caused us the delay. At the time they did not want to admit it was their mistake telling me that my credit card was bad - but then wanted me to use it at the bank to get cash. Silly. Later, they apologized in an email admitting their mistake, but it was too late. I will not go back there.

Quiet location, clean hotel, front rooms were good and serviced by the 4 person lift. Smallish room but suited us two with 2 large cases and 2 small cases, breakfast was basic with cereal, toast and cakes, pastries , juices and tea, coffee. Two first floor rooms out the back are not serviced by the lift.

Great hotel for seeing the sights & very clean!

What a wonderful hotel! Spotlessly clean and situated perfectly for seeing all areas of Paris. Very near a metro station (Raspail), and mainline (Port Royale, RER B line) but still central enough to walk to all the major sites. Room was small but had everything you needed including a hairdryer, kettle and fridge. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast served daily in the cellar of the hotel and there was plenty of it. Supermarket located on the same street and many cafes and bars nearby. Air conditioning in the room & if you get a room at the back of the hotel, as we did, it is extremely quiet.

I stayed for the second time in this hotel (with friends) and I will come back again. The hotel is located in a quiet street just next to a Metro station (No 6 and 4) and has one PC free usable free of charge in the reception room. The rooms we had were clean and as small as one can expect them to be in Paris. After my first night in room no 6 which is located next to the reception and to the (normally) quiet street and hence can be pretty loud in the morning (when not using earplugs), the receptionist asked me whether I wanted to change the room. I did and when I came back from exploring Paris in the evening I found one item in the bathroom which I had left by mistake in room no 6: caring staff. I did not try out the breakfast though.

Okej rum med utsikt över Tour Montparnasse. Rummet var extremt lyhört och det hördes konstiga ljud från bisarra grannar. En kvadratmeter större än de andra rummen, men därför inget skåp endast några galgar att hänga upp kläder på. Badrummet var pyttelitet och hade väldigt lite plats för avställning. Frukosten var korrekt men väldigt liten matsal. T-bana Raspail alldeles bredvid. 6oo meter till buss. I sökningen verkade det som att det var mycket närmare Gare Montparnasse, men det är på 1 km avstånd.

L'hôtel est propre et bien placé. Le personnel est agréable.
CEPENDANT, la chambre n°6 en rdc, a une fenêtre double vitrage sur la rue (il faut une double fenêtre), et la porte de la chambre donne direct sur l'accueil (il faut une double porte). J'ai entendu les clients revenir jusqu'à deux heures du matin. Rappelons qu'un hôtel, c'est fait pour dormir

Hotel bem localizado e confortável

Hotel muito bom com ótima localização cim proximidade do Metrô. Tem uma tradição muito legal no café da manhã que encantam os hóspedes. A Angélica é um ser humano de luz, com muito carisma na parte da recepção do café da manhã, que deixa tudo muito aconchegante. Fechar o café da manhã com eles, vale super a pena (pelo preço e pela comida).

O quarto atendeu as expectativas, com secador de cabelo e secador de toalhas. Água quente e chuveiro bom, além da cama confortável.

Nuit parisienne top !

Recherche d'un hôtel proche de la rue de la Gaité pour assister à une pièce de théâtre en soirée. L'hôtel Istria répondait tout à fait à notre besoin. En plus, il est tout près du cimetière Montparnasse où nous voulions le matin aller nous promener et voir des tombes d'hommes et femmes célèbres.
Hôtel proche du boulevard, mais AUCUN bruit de voiture perçu. Nuit impeccable. Bonne literie, chambre bien arrangée. Jolie éclairage. Bouilloire, sachets de thé et de café à disposition, ainsi qu'un petit frigo. Belle salle de bain fonctionnelle et bien équipée.

Horrible smell, moldy and they take your room key

The hotel is at a good location BUT the rooms smell absolutely horrible. They use some kind of spray and really cover it everywhere (probably to mask another bad smell). We tried opening our window and door for it to go out but it’s almost impossible. Another unusual thing is that they do not allow you to keep your hotel room key. They take it from you everytime you leave which is not common for a hotel and also not necessary. When asked why they do that they could not give us a reason. Makes you feel like they go into your room without permission as well. The bathroom looks like it was renovated recently but sadly they don’t clean in super well so you could already see some mold on the walls.

地下鉄の駅やバス停から近く、オペラ座やその他の観光がしやすい場所にあります。

スーツケースの故障時に工具を貸してくれました。
優しいサービスです。

フロントは英語が通じます。

部屋は狭いですが、必要最低限の設備は整っています。
予備の枕に血の跡がありましたが、南京虫ではないと思います。
トイレにビデはないので、携帯ウォシュレットを持参すると良いでしょう。

パリに来たらまた泊まりたい宿でした。

Super beliggenhed

Rigtig fint hotel. God værdi for pengene. Små men fine værelser. Perfekt beliggenhed ift RER B ot metro.
Eneste der trækker ned er morgenmaden, ikke pengene værd. Men så spiste vi bare på det nærliggende konditori 😊 billigt og godt.

Très bien situé

Bonjour. L’hôtel est très bien placé, 10 minutes à pied de la gare Montparnasse, accueil, chaleureux, chambre, propre et lit confortable. En revanche le chauffage était soit éteint, soit à fond… On a eu chaud ce qui est plutôt sympa pour un mois de décembre…

Average hotel in good location

The hotel is situated in a nice location, very near metro station and close to many nice restaurants. The room was ok, but on the minus side, I think the walls are very thin; I heard very well a dog, a baby and some couple during my stay. I also consider the room to be a little too small (and as a consequence too sparsely equipped, no wardrobe, a very small desk etc., but still with a refrigerator, which is a plus) and without a really good light. I didn't try the breakfast.
