Only booked the place because of the pool/slide….unfortunately due too poor parenting and bad decisions made to bring a young child into the hot tub it was closed from 5 pm on….ugh offfered a late checkout but wanted to get home ..in hind sight should have taken it .. breakfast room so small had to wait 1 hr for the pancake machine cup line up.. just saying

Had to ask to have room cleaned at 3:00 in the afternoon after our first night stay on a 2 day stay! Noisy pipes that rattled all night long both nights.
Had an extra $100 added to my bill when I checked my Visa charge for no reason!

The hotel is very run down. The room smelled of smoke. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable, so bad that it made sleep completely impossible. There was NO hot water, so a bath or shower was out of the question. The breakfast was abysmal - a stale bagel and weak coffee. Not that I wpuld have used it, but the waterslide and pool were also out of commission. Stay away!!!

Slide is super fun but you have to ignore the grit on the bottom of the pool and the general disrepair of the building. Loved the themed rooms and appreciated the price is reflective of an old building. Staff was lovely.

Great staff and accommodating. 1st room smelled so bad from cigarette smoke and carpets are really dirty and stuff left in the fridge. 2nd room smelled much better but carpets are still stained and old. Walls/floors are very thin that you can hear people walk around upstairs and kids having fun in room below. both beds in the rooms are poor quality giving you motion transfer could be poor frame or poor quality in mattress not sure, as long as you didn't have to turn over the bed was comfy. Pool was dirty with a lot of dirt rings around. breakfast was great and clean area.
Mr. Mikes is next door with great services and food. and a lot of stores with in a few steps away to enjoy your stay. Would be a great place to stay with kids but if you want a more quite place to stay I would not recommend this hotel.

great spacious room with a view of the hills and planes. shower was good . Keurig Coffee maker great, King bed comfortable. Nice to have breakfast on site included. quiet and reasonable rates. The staff were welcoming and accommodating.. The pool and hot tub were there too, but not used. Very pleased with my stay and will be back!

Major disappointment. Pool and hot tub and the pool area were too cold, chattering teeth cold! We called twice to confirm that all was working, it does not! The hotel is nice enough and clean, room was also fine. Shower water also not hot enough. Staff super friendly, and they know the pool is freezing, I feel bad for them. If only it was a great experience we might have come with the kids as regular trip as we live close by, such a shame.

Where to begin...?
Myself, my daughter and granddaughter were booked for 3 nights starting Christmas day. We live only 30 minutes away, but wanted to relax and enjoy the pool as a nice get away for the holidays...

So, the elevator was broken (ok, only on the 2nd floor, so i can ignore.
The hot water in the room took about 5-10 minutes to get warm enough to shower, and by that time, the tub was filled ankle deep because the drain was so slow.
Beds were not the best, but not the worst.
Breakfast in the lobby was ok.. no butter/margarine for toast (only jams)
Only small red apples for fruit.. very limited, but free so... ok.
Now, the whole reason for being here:
The pool room was freezing. The large slide turned off (have to find a maintenence person and ask for it to be turned on). So, we got changed and tried to enter the pool. It was freezing! (Think late may lake water) my 5 year old granddaughter was shivering after 5 minutes and i couldnt even stay in.
The hot tub had sand in the bottom and had only one working jet at th3 bottom. (I know how to turn it on... it was definitely not working)
So, extremely disappointed, we left the pool area and went to the lobby where i tried to tell the woman working there about the issues and was told, \"no, the hot tub and pool were cleaned that day, so there wasnt sand in it\", abd that \"the jets definitely work, i must not be turning the knob\", also... she would try to get someone to check the temperature. The \"pool\" is crap.

The staff was very courteous, helpful and happy. The room was clean. Breakfast waffles were great but perhaps more fruit offerings. Grandson loved the water slide but the pool could have been cleaner and warmer! The water was very chilly as was the entire pool area. Hot tub was good. We stayed in December 2023 and the pool water and area was much warmer. I would not recommend to friends to book in the winter now if they wanted a great pool experience.
We booked for the theme room and pool experience. A little let down.

Water slide not working informed last minute, elevator not working. Extremely loud music being played from either another room or the resturant downstairs until 1:30 or later in the morning. Broken heaters in hallways with covers all smashed, some sort of brown (looked like fieces) spread on heater in hallway. Some white stuff all over walls and carpet. Will not suggest nor will ever stay in this motel again.

We have stayed at this hotel in Castlegar several times travelling back and forth to the lower mainland.
This time it was a horrible stay. The elevator was broken and due to a disability I am unable to climb the flight of stairs needed to reach the upper floors where our room was situated.
They put us in one of their theme rooms on the main level. The room was called the Coca Cola room.
The ceilings were extremely high. It had two bunk bed and a queen bed. The only heater was in the room with the queen bed.
We closed the door to try and keep the heat in and when we had to use the washroom we had to brave the cold of the other room.
The room we slept in didn’t retain heat very well and the very noisy heater came on every 10 minutes to try and maintain some warmth. We sat in our clothes under the covers to just watch TV it was so cold.
We brought an extra blanket from our car to put on the bed for extra warmth.
The floors were venal flooring over cement and froze our feet if you didn’t wear shoes. Not comfortable when travelling all day.
Washrooms in the lobby were out of order as well.
This place is getting more and more run down and they are not repairing things timely.
Wonbe staying here again!

Quite rundown. Rooms show lots of wear and minimal upkeep. One nice mattress one terribly old mattress. Bathroom was clean but paint peeling, rust etc. The water slide was broken and pool was very cold. Breakfast was minimal, even for complimentary.
Okay for a small town stay but I probably would choose another chain next time for a similar price.

Advertised that the water slide was out of order. We found out that both the pool and the hot tub were also closed as well. The kids love the pool and we likely would have stayed somewhere else. The breakfast had a bowl of seriously rotten oranges and apples set out (have pics to prove) and to top it all of there was NO hot water for a morning shower! I tried the sink tap as well and let the water run for some time. Nope, warm at best.

The gym equipment was falling apart. The waterslide was broken. The hot tub jets were broken. The pool, which was very tiny, is less than a metre deep and was freezing cold. We chose the hotel for the amenities and were very disappointed with them. The rooms were clean, but there was a dog on our floor that barked all day and half the night; when we called the front desk, their response was “they are in a pet friendly room”. I love dogs. I have 3 of my own, but I didn’t expect to not be able to sleep in a hotel because of barking.

I have stayed here in july two years running, and it was fine, fairly clean, decent price, the chlorine smell from the pool was a bit overwhelming due to it being enclosed, but over all a good experience.

We stayed here last night and it was gross. The lobby/breakfast room smelled SO intensely of rotting garbage i could taste it. It permiated the elevator, and even on the THIRD floor on the opposite side of the hotel the REEK of garbage followed us. It legitimately almost made me leave and sleep in the car. The front desk said they would \"let house keeping know\". Admittedly, i have a sensitive sense of smell, but this was truely excessive, and, esspecially in the food service area, unacceptable.

The bathtub had a considerable mold problem, there were greasy hand prints on the ceiling in the bathroom, a large sticky forehead shaped mark in the middle of the TV, the fridge smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, and the kicker, bugs.

Not bedbugs, stink beetles, they're harmless, and invasive, so i understand, but there were 3 in bed with me when i woke up and i will NOT being going back.

Litterally two months ago this hotel was fine, i dont know what happened, but i am deeply disappointed.

It was a nice surprise to see a brand name for the little shampoo,conditioner,body lotion & bar soap—DOVE !🤗
Not sure what happened, but my sister left her swimsuit on the tub to dry overnight and the next morning we were shocked to see a long streak of rust colour coming from it. Also her silver ring was damaged & turned dark colour 🤔 after the hot tub. Mine was okay. Very strange….

Dated rooms/bathrooms that are in need of an update. Our blackout blind didn’t even cover the whole window.
The water slide was closed which was a huge disappointment for my kids. The pool by itself was pretty small and boring.
The breakfast offering was mediocre. We skipped it most days.
There is a new Mr Mikes next door which is convenient.
Probably will not be booking a return stay here. But you get what you pay for I guess.

We booked the hotel for the waterslide and when we got there it was out of order. We were willing to pay more for the hotel as we had children and they would use the waterslide. I could have got a better hotel for cheaper had I known the slide was down. The pool area was gross!! There was tons of sand at the bottom of the hot tuba d in the pool as well. It says to shower before using the pool but they provide NO showers, if the expectation is to use the shower in your room that’s gross as nobody wants to walk through the hotel wet, especially when towels are kept T the front desk. I will say we won’t stay here again ……EVER!!

I got triple charged and yes I said triple charged so now I have to wait so many business days to get my refund hopefully soon on one of the charges as one was given back with cash. We went away as a family for a nights stay but the inconvenience and stress this caused. We got a free nights stay but I think that was the least we should get after I had to show them my bank account also to show front end what had happened at 7am in the morning After this all was sorted by the manager around a hour later i was told the previous afternoon staff has made the errors so great training on that part and a good job i noticed in my bank account the errors. So never again will I stay here.
