The owner took time to get to know us and what we wanted to do. Gave great recommendations for restaurants, shopping sight seeing. The location is great you can walk to the beach we’re there are two good restaurants or to the boardwalk where you can walk into Lagos along the coast. It’s a twenty minute walk to the old town which is great. Uber taxis are readily available never waited more than 10 minutes and only cost 5euro. Will come back

We stayed two nights in this hotel and found it more than adequate. The little kitchenette allowed us to make our breakfasts. Not a large unit but a good one. I wish the pool had been heated as it was quite chilly. But other than that, we would stay here again.

This is the most amazing property to stay for a family vacation. The host and the staff at reception are exceptionally courteous and David has a great sense of humour! The property is in excellent condition and demonstrates the passion, love and pride of the owner to maintain it as a top class accommodation. The nearby beaches are the very best and the cleanest in Lagos. Ponta da Piedade displays nature's very best and transcends all expectations. The icing on the cake is that all these destinations can be reached by walk from this property. Food is available in plenty in the vicinity and there is a mini market that is accessible by foot. I highly recommend this place to others and desire to return here during my future visits to Portugal. Fantastic oasis of tranquility to enjoy the sunshine. Walking distance to the beach, Lagos, Ponta da Piadade. The staff were all really helpful. Simple decor but all we needed - and better than the photos. Great to have a little kitchen where we could make coffee, fruit etc for breakfast.

Cons: The room gets a bit stuffy during the night and you can’t really leave the window open as it’s just a door to the garden with no mosquito net.

We had a fantastic week here. The people are very friendly and happy to suport with any inquiry you may have. The cleaning ladies very helpfull and did our room every day even though we didn't felt is needed.
This is a 3* hotel so please consider that before setting your expectations. On top of this you have access to a shared swimming pool (1.3m-1.8m)
Other people were complaining in reviews about noise through the walls. We didn't notice that too much even though the hotel was not very busy when we were there. It might be a problem if the hotel is fully booked and lots of noisy kids around. Again, we didn't had any issues.
Not many shops in the area the nearest small convinience store is 15min walking, two restaurants 10min away on the breach.
Overall a good experience, deffinetly considered for future vacations to Lagos.

Quiet location but property is showing its age. Beds are very hard and pillows hard and lumpy. Using the shower is a challenge without flooding the bathroom. We loved the proximity to beautiful beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful. For short term guests availability of coffee even at a cost would be a nice touch!

Great Service with a friendly front desk service! Helped us figure out want we wanted to do for our one night in Lagos! Beautiful beaches walking distance away. Quiet neighborhood with a refreshing pool just outback.

Locating these apartments by GPS was a nightmare -- while we were trying to regroup, there was a second couple that drove into the same narrow alley that we were parked in across town from the destination. A call to the manager indicated to program \"Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort\" into the GPS since they were angled across the road from that business -- thirty minutes later...our room had been assigned to the other couple but we still ended up with quiet and relatively private accommodation, with many apologies (although unnecessary). The rooms are in a residential home modified for several independent apartments and, as such, have basic essentials seemingly provided by mismatched pieces and parts. The mattresses were very hard although an offer was made to add padding. Location to town is via car, bus, or a long walk, although a steep hill walk will take you to a close beach and a couple of good restaurants. The well manicured and landscaped lawn and extremely friendly reception and attentive customer service make up for any lack of luxury or amenities in this neighborhood setting.

This place was ideal. Very nice staff and professional when an issue arose. The pool might be a tad deep for little kids but the grounds are nice and the guests were all friendly. You have 2 beaches in walking distance and grocery stores are a quick drive.

really good hotel. spotlessly clean, spacious comfortable room with well equipped kitchenette. sparkling clean swimming pool shared by just a few rooms. staff helpful and polite. excellent wifi. stayed an extra night as hotel was so nice. we had a car so drove into town centre. beach is within walking distance but would be a pretty long, uphill walk back to hotel. overall best hotel so far in our 2 month trip in Europe. very reasonably priced as well.

A gem hideaway
Stayed two nights and our stay was excellent. The room was very neat, clean and comfortable. We were on the ground floor fifteen feet from the pool, which we did not use but it was very inviting. The local supermarket was 10 minutes walk away and a short drive into the town centre. Close walk to the various beaches.

Nice apartments - Conveniently situated
The apartments are fairly basic but comfortable, well equiped and spotlessly clean. The apartments are set in pretty, well tended gardens. They are well situated for the Porto do Mos and Canaviel beaches (though you need to be reasonably fit to walk to both, and be warned, clothing on Canaviel is optional) as well as Lagos town centre. There is a small but nice pool at the complex and each apartment has two sun loungers. Also there is an outdoor table and chairs for each apartment for al fresco dining if the fancy takes you. The owners live on-site and all the staff are friendly and helpful.
There is a wide variety of good resaurants in Lagos and several are within easy walking distance; Antonio's on the Porto do Mos beach is nice. If you want to venture a bit further, O Marofado is a bit out of town on the far side but does excellent tapas.

Everything was great at Canavial. I arrived at 11pm and they waited for me even though reception closes at 7pm. Room was really big and super clean. Super powerful shower and room with direct access to the pool.
It's a short walk from 2 really nice beaches, and Antonio restaurant which serves amazing seefood and vinho verde.
It's not that close from the city centre, but that is precisely the reason why I booked it. Everything is cheaper around, really nice beaches not crowded, and really quite.

I'm not sure if hotels.com did their homework on this one. Canavial was definitely not what I expected: it is not a hotel or a guest house, just a house divided into rooms for rent (including garage I think). Do mind the reception hours, if there is anything you need after 6pm, you're on your own. Very overpriced and overrated.

Fantastic service
The owner was very kind. He told us everything we need to know about the area, shops, beaches, restaurants etc. The location is good. Quiet but not far from the beach and town centre. The couple traveled with us has a baby and the owner kindly provided a very nice bed for the baby. Not every room has bath though. So if bath is a must for you, do specify in the special request so that the owner can arrange beforehand.

Small, quiet and friendly appartments.
Canavial is an owner run development outside Lagos close to the Porto do Mos beach. The apartments are in two blocks on either side of a very quiet road. The apartments are quiet, very well looked after and comfortable without being luxurious. They are primarily intended for couples though it is possible to have a third bed put in them if you are taking a child. The grounds are private, really pretty and well tended. There is a small pleasant pool and each appartment has its own sunloungers so you can spend a lazy day there if you want to. Access to the beach is either down a steep set of stairs to Canavial beach (the far end of which is 'clothing optional') or a steep walk down to Porto do Mos which is popular and good facilities.
The centre of Lagos is a pleasant but longish walk but there are several decent restaurants relatively close by if you don't fancy the town centre.

Very short walking distance to breathtaking cliffs overlooking the Ocean. Downhill walk (on road) to the beach. Lots of parking available. Cute kitchenettes. I would'nt reccomend staying in downtown Lagos as iti is way too touristy. Restaurants are a short drive away

The Canavial Apartments represent good, basic accommodation and are well located for all the local beaches, restaurants, supermarkets, and city centre - if you have a car. If you don't have a car, Mos beach is close, but everything else is quite a walk away. The apartments are reasonably well equipped and kept very clean and tidy. The only significant criticism is that the walls are quite thin, and the noise from your neighbours at night can sometimes be a bit intrusive i.e. babies crying, loud coughing, mechanical devices, etc........ but overall they are good value for money.

The hotel and staff were very friendly. The provided us with information and willingness. Especially the young lady at the front desk and the cleaning ladies were very nice and helpful. The beds were on the other hand too hard. After a week in the beds we had issues with our backs. This should be change before we choose this hotel again.
