The pre-trip communication was poor, but once I got there - everything was perfect! Would highly recommend & would go again. Great grounds, food, service.
FYI: it is about 60 stairs to the beach, as this may be a consideration for other-abled individuals.

Paradise in the Middle of Nowhere - but close to a

The ambience could not be nicer, spectacular views, great food and excellent, friendly service.

We spent four days there and I really did not want to leave. I went deep sea fishing on the hotel boat and was successful, while some French visitors went out with the official fishing boat and caught nothing. The chef prepared one of my fish in two different ways; both were excellent.

If there was a fault, it was that a couple of items on the menu were not always available.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel

This was a beautiful and clean hotel with very friendly staff and excellent views. It was more beautiful than the pictures shown. The room was more than spacious with a private pool and patio. The restaurant was good with a nice variety of options. The staff was helpful with excursions and I would recommend going to the islands and village tour. The massage was the best massage I have ever experienced. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved it. They were so good to us they even caught a fresh fish form the seas just specially for us. We loved everything about this property. We highly recommend it for loved ones who are looking for some private time alone.

Don't look further, this is where you want to stay

Just stay here, you won't regret it. I went with the reviews and it was more than worth it. It has what you need if you want adventure and the tranquility if you just want to relax. The food is great and you can go to other great restaurants nearby. The beach is great, clean and you also have islands all around for day trips. But the view from your room is the cherry on top.

Great hotel - couple of niggles with the service.

Fabulous room and hotel with excellent facilities - pool, state of the art gym, massages etc. I would really like to give it 5 stars but the service let it down a bit although everyone seems to be trying. Never anyone serving at the pool bar outside and some of the serving staff don't speak the best english so ordering food/drinks can be a bit of a challenge some of the time. Don't let that put you off through - these are easily resolved things that I am sure they will sort out. The hotel itself is fabulous and the room and the view is to die for.

A tough act to beat!

Has all you need to make your trip memorable. Great location; attentive staff; good range of activities; superb restaurants nearby (eg Casa Rex; Donna Ana) and serves the BEST cappuccino in town. Wifi is patchy but WIP! I wld certainly return.

The best place in Vilankulo!

We were there for honeymoon in July 2015 and it was just perfect !!! The staff is lovely, the place is top and the view wonderful !!

It was paradise and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great swimming pool, a lovely staff, and excellent massages and outside activities.

Out honeymoon is memorable thanks to them.

Beautiful rooms and resort, lovely week. Be sure to take a Dhow trip to the island and horse ride on the beach.. Highlights of our trip. Thanks to the lovely waitstaff who greeted us so warmly every day and Louanna for all her assistance. Be aware there is nowhere to change Aussie dollars in vilankulos.

Superb service, stunning setting, beautiful hotel

The service was flawless with staff super attentive to our needs, our questions, and our requests. The hotel only has 12 rooms so there’s a lovely sense of intimacy. The rooms are beautifully decorated with very tasteful items, they have a lot of light coming through and an feeling of openness with the stunning view of the sea and the French doors on two of the walls of the room. Our room also had a veranda with chaises that were handy on evenings when we sat out and looked at the stars while smoking cigars and drinking beer. The hotel arranges all transfers to and from the airport – which I think it’s always a nice add-on as it takes away the hassle of sorting transport in a foreign country. We had dinner once in the hotel restaurant and it was very good too although we also tried others outside of the hotel. Continental breakfast is included but if you want eggs or bacon, there are extra charges. Overall, super satisfied and we would recommend without reservations.

Honeymoon in paradise!

Bahia Mar is a small little paradise! Everyone in the staff is so friendly and service minded and want you to have the most pleasant stay. We spent our last week of our honeymoon and we don’t regret a single second. Well organized, great food and drinks and the location is perfect by the beach.

Nous avons été reçus particulièrement bien dans cet hôtel. Nous avons bénéficié des services de Hoteis.com Gold avec un surclassement waouh et des massages à -20%
Le restaurant est très bon et tout le personnel au petit soin. Je pense qu'il est difficile de faire mieux.
Seul détail : rideau non occultant dans les chambres pour les sensibles à la lumière

Wonderful vacation

We are very satisfied with lovely Bahia Mar, where we came for our honeymoon. The boat excursions to the archipelago were amazing and the hotel provided the tranquility we desired. The staff were super nice, food was excellent and it was very sad to leave. We loved Bahia Mar and warmly recommend it for others who want to have the same paradise experience that we had.

Hotel bem localizado, à beira mar, numa praia tranquila e silenciosa. Todos os funcionários foram muito atenciosos e prestativos e sempre prontos a ajudar na organização de passeios pela região e com dicas sobre a cidade. O quarto em que nos hospedamos possuía uma vista linda para o mar e o nascer do sol, em que era possível ficar observando o trabalho dos pescadores ao amanhecer. O hotel conta ainda com um bom restaurante, de cardápio variado. Ótima opção para quem quer conhecer Vilanculos.

AMAMOS! O hotel é maravilhoso, limpo e a comida deliciosa! Nosso quarto tinha uma piscina privativa incrível e uma vista linda! Fechamos os passeios com eles também, Bazaruto é imperdível! O Bahia Mar é a melhor escolha em Vilanculos, saímos da cidades apaixonados! Vale muito a pena!

L'hôtel, les chambres ainsi que le personnel sont vraiment à la hauteur.
Un gros bémol sur la carte du restaurant qui est très limitée et ne propose quasiment pas de poisson un comble !
Ce qui a été vraiment très décevant c'est la plage qui a cause des fortes marées ne permettent quasiment pas de se baigner. Les seules fois où cela a été possible les algues gâchaient largement le plaisir.
De plus, rien n'ai fait par l'hôtel pour vous inciter à vous y rendre : pas de transats confortables, pas de service à la plage.
Pour être honnête si nous avions su nous aurions fait un autre choix de destination car la plage était un de nos critères les plus importants !...
Un conseil ! prenez uniquement avec petit déjeuner (il est top) et ensuite manger à la carte car les prix sont très bas et vous ferez de belles économies VS le prix payé en demi ou pension complète !...

A estadia foi magnífica, pese embora muito curta, abrindo o apetite para visitas mais prolongadas numa região com uma envolvente natural - nomeadamente em termos de ilhas - com uma beleza verdadeiramente paradisíaca!

À peine arrivé, on tente de nous voler 465 USD !

Deux heures après notre arrivée, le réceptionniste Arlindu pénètre dans notre chambre et prétexte qu'on ne peut être 2 adultes et 1 enfant de 10 ans dans cette chambre. C'est pourtant lui qui nous a reçu. De nuit, il demande de partir ou changer de chambre, contre un paiement de ... 465 dollars US.
Devant mon refus, il indique que c'est bon pour une nuit, mais le lendemain on discutera le prix. En fait, nous n'avons rien payé, c'était de l'intimidation.
Hôtel avec une belle vue. Chambre trop chère, sans body lotion, ni peignoir, ni pantoufles etc. Connexion internet très mauvaise, réduite à un seul endroit dans tout l'hôtel. Nous avons été très gêné par des fumeurs, en limite des espaces fermés.

Désolant ! On a tenté de nous voler !

Quelle horrible expérience nous avons vécue dans ce pseudo 4 étoiles ! Deux heures après notre arrivée, le réceptionniste vient dans notre chambre pour nous demander de payer ... 465 USD de suplément ou de partir. Il a même téléphoné pour savoir si d'autres hôtels étaient libres. Selon lui, nous ne devions pas être avec notre fille de 10 ans dans la même chambre. Il faisait nuit, j'étais sous la douche. La chambre avait été payée 4 mois plus tôt. Il a tout simplement essayé de nous soutirer de l'argent, car le lendemain, tout c'est arrangé.

Et helt fantastisk hotell!

Oppholdet på Bahia Mar var helt fantastisk, et perfekt sted for å ta med kjæresten på tur. Restauranten har førsteklasses service og resepsjonistene var veldig servicevennlige. Takket være dette hotellet fikk den romantiske turen vi lengtet etter. Ta en tur ut på stranden i solskinnet, eller dra på en båttur (snorkle) til de nærliggende øyene, selv var vi øye 'Magaruque'og snorklet, med en gang vi dykket hodet under vannet var det fisk! I tillegg så så vi flamingoer og delfin. Bahia Mar er et profesjonelt hotell. Anbefales på det sterkeste, uten tvil vært pengene!
