Hotel staff were exceptional; very friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good. Nice river view. However, the hotel itself is in need of updating. Room vents smell like smoke despite the hotel being a no smoking property. The two restaurants, one bar and room service share the same limited menu. Hotel location is fairly isolated and is not particularly walkable though Grab is an inexpensive transportation option. Overall we would not book here again.

The hotel was outdated. Mostly staff doesn't speak English specifically in the room service. Hard for me to order food since i have food restrictions. But the girl who taking care of my room shes amazing. She kept my room nice and tidy for 12 nights. I have a beautiful looking bridge . The hotel is close to Terminal 21 mall. The water in the pool is cold i didn't use it. I still recommend it 👌

The Montien is in a lovely spot and in close walking distance to a shopping mall. The rooms are in urgent need of modernisations but spacious and facilities adequate. I hate hotels that don’t have an ironing board and steam iron as standard in the closet. The AC unit even set to low is incredibly noisy. The desk chair is incredibly uncomfortable as a Business traveller. WiFi worked ok although not super fast and does drop out occasionally. The terrace restaurant is nice although other restaurant options in the hotel are limited. Breakfast is adequate but selection not extensive.

It once was a majestic hotel. You can tell by the structure and the decor. But it’s not being kept up. My mini refrigerator made lots of noise, but never do get cold or cool. The seals in the bathroom need to be recauled, mirrors are show the age with marks inside the mirrors. The breakfast is excellent, even eating there the lunch is excellent too. I ate at the Chinese restaurant for dinner awesome. It’s time to do some renovations update. It’s still worth staying, also the staff is amazing and helpful 🙏

Montien was a beautiful ornate building. Enjoyed our view of the river from our nicely sized room. Breakfast buffet was good, swimming pool was good, my spa treatment was good. We enjoyed that it was a little ways off from the busy part of Bangkok but we enjoyed that.

We stayed 12 nights, close to terminal 21 nice smaller mall close to seven eleven shop, staff friendly and helpful, swimming pool clean and nice, dinner meals were lovely and cheap i asked for sweet n sour chicken instead of fish and they were able to do that. Breakfast good selection but needed to be a bit hotter. Lovely cafe in hotel with cakes etc Hotel is older just needs some painting inside and out and some maintenance nice qrounds to sit outside music everynight. The hotel is nice, beautiful location on the river and excellent staff. But the transport to city and back is a little inconvenient. One has to rely on taxis and tuktuks or wait for the one way hotel shuttle for a drop to Taksin for BTS or the nearest ferry. That became a bit difficult due to the crowds around new years as the city was very busy.

Wonderful staff. Food was varied and tasty but cold-that needs improving. We liked the pool area and very good free shuttle service to some nearby attractions. If you are short of time and want to see main attractions I would recommend you stay in the center as it cost us a lot in taxi/grab fares and time.

Big disappointment. Amazing staff, and that's the only plus I have for this hotel. The bed was like sleeping on plywood over reinforced concrete. There was no way to plug up anything next to the bed so all your devices are across the room. The lobby had a strange smell to it, very hard to describe. And the wifi was beyond terrible. The hotel is next to nothing so it takes forever to get anywhere. I'm not sure when this hotel was built, but it doesn't look like anything has been changed since opening day. Everything is dated, including the elevator interiors. But the thing that turned me off was when I went to breakfast and there was a roach parading around on the breakfast bar like it had paid for food. This hotel has so much potential but it needs to have new life breathed into it for it to reach that potential.

My family and I had a wonderful time. My daughter just turned 4 but we enjoyed the pool, the play area with toys, and of course magarita and other drinks for us.
Plus the restaurant stays open until 12am. The room was comfortable as well. The shopping area called terminal 21 was an awesome mall too. You can walk there easisly from the hitel or take their shuttle.

Breakfast was plentiful but average. I recommend going next door to Terminal 21 Rama 3 for meals. The best thing was the staff and service. I would say ok value for money.

The plus about this hotel is the swimming pool which although minimal in pool decor is beautiful temperature, and has a view toward the city. Also if you go for bling the HUGE entrance foyer and opulent decor will impress. Breakfast selection good and plentiful. However the location is anything but handy and poorly serviced by public transport so everyday sees you spending at least 600 baht on taxis just to get close the downtown. No street food anywhere nearby but a range of higher priced eateries in the new and very snazzy Terminal 21 shopping mall almost next door. The hotel is 30 years or so past its glory days, poor paintwork and rust very visible. Room decor tired and dated. Carpet new and very clean. Daily room service thorough. Concierge service minimal in knowledge and helpfulness and some desk staff struggle with English. Finally, this hotel seems to host large tour groups who arrive at all hours making a terrific din in the foyer and corridors. I honestly thought they were hosting a night market one evening the shouting and banging of luggage was so strident. I asked the desk staff who were staring at the 50+ arrivals shouting and pushing each other to grasp piles of boxes and the staff just shrugged and named the groups country of origin as if this was normal public behaviour in a pricey hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. Even at half the price. Some days the foyer smelled of boiled cabbage.

Staff was excellent! We were treated like royalty for our 3 day stay! Beautiful, older hotel. One downfall...the wifi was very poor. Other than that, awesome place to stay...Beautiful pool, great view, nothing but good things to say about the Montien Riverside.

The hotel definitely needs a refurbishment. Can tell it's an old hotel but nevertheless should have some refurbishment done. The room was clean but one night when the room was cleaned, the bedsheets were not changed. I had an issue where the toilet and sink were blocked, and after I reported it to reception, they were very quick to resolve the issue. At the back of the hotel where the outside dining and bars are, it is very nice by the river.

This hotel is really nice. The day staff was wonderful. The breakfast was amazing. The rooms are very nice and we had a room with a great view of the river. However, we had dinner one night outside, and the service was terrible. It was probably the worst service we ever experienced at any hotel, regardless of the rating.

Its an old hotel, but nonetheless the service, the food, the staff AND the view were wonderful! Special shout-out/kudos to their concierge staff, and especially \"Roong\" (?). What a man of service! Although the hotel seems a bit distant from the center of Bangkok, they offer a free shuttle every 2 hours to Saphan Taksin, one of the BTR stations; and the nearby mall, Terminal 21, offers a shuttle to the mall every two hours from the next BTR station, Surasak. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days there.

Located on riverbank. One minute walk to a 7-11. Three minute walk to a Fantastic Terminal 21 mall (Rama 3). In-house restaurant is well priced. Rooms were updated and spacious. Short TukTuk ride to Asiatique (making a comeback after Covid), and free shuttles to the BTS skytrain. Loved a large tub, plus shower. Wished for a bathroom nightlight. Will return.

Spent 6 nights just recently at the Montien Riverside Hotel. The hotel was beautiful, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our deluxe river view room was spacious and had a great view of the river. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bangkok.

Our stay was very much enjoyed. Most of the staff was very polite and helpful. My friend uses a wheelchair and they helped us each time we went to the cafe to eat. Who were champs cause her chair is heavy.
And the staff was very helpful when we needed it.
I do recommend using the Bolt app to get rides as, while the staff did help us get a taxi. The driver we got was not particularly honest and charged us extra for transportation. And we noticed many taxi drivers don’t use a meter machine even when they are licensed taxi drivers. So by using the Bolt app you can see how much the fare is, who the driver is, etc. which is really nice. And we were also able to notify the drivers about my friends wheelchair which helped a lot.
We especially enjoyed the pool, the water was nice, and it was so relaxing. We also got massages which felt so good. While the cost of the massages is more by what my friend who lives there said. It was still worth it because they were willing to massage my friend even though she uses a wheelchair. They were very professional, and checked if there was any special care they needed to do for her. So that’s nice to know they are so attentive to people with disabilities.
The bellhops were so sweet and carried out bags to the room. I was apparently supposed to have them get the bags at check out, but had already brought them down with us. Oops haha.

The Montien Riverside is an older hotel but well maintained. It has a lot of charm and ambience compared to the newer more expensive sterile hotels. The price per night is very economical for a 5-Star hotel. If you like Asian food, you will love the Breakfast Buffet and the Chinese Restaurant.
The hotel is conveniently located within a few minutes’ walk to Terminal 21 Mall where you can find hi-end stores, delicious restaurants, and many shopping options.
The absolute best feature of the Montien Riverside is the staff! My wife and I stayed at the Executive level on the 24th floor from Dec. 27. 2023 to Jan. 3. 2024, and we highly recommend booking one of the rooms on this floor with a river view. The staff is super friendly and very attentive.
We want to give a special shout out to the wonderful staff that made our stay even more enjoyable. Ms. Sunisa, Ms. Nuttanun, Ms. Patcharaporn, Mr. Roong-Aroon, Mr. Charoen, Mr. Tanaphon, Mr. Withayakorn, Mr. Tanakorn. The absolute best feature of the Montien Riverside is the staff! My wife and I stayed at the Executive level on the 24th floor from Dec. 27. 2023 to Jan. 3. 2024, and we highly recommend booking one of the rooms on this floor with a river view. The staff is super friendly and very attentive.
We want to give a special shout out to the wonderful staff that made our stay even more enjoyable. Ms. Sunisa, Ms. Nuttanun, Ms. Patcharaporn, Mr. Roong-Aroon, Mr. Charoen, Mr. Tanaphon, Mr. Withayakorn, Mr. Tanakorn. The hotel is dated , needs a refurbishment, it’s clean, but smells old , restaurant staff terrible , bad service , no good English speakers , food comes out at all different times , if at all , charge you a service charge , when there is no good service . It’s lovely on the river , but just old and smelly , clean as said , but not modern at all . Over priced for condition of hotel .

I like the Montien
The Montien is like a grand old cruise liner on the banks of the Chao Praya river, with wonderful riverviews, chalm, 5 star service. Very Good food. Cafe style, and fine dinning. Grand rooms. Great health club and pool. The Montien is opperating at a 4 star level , discounted as some post Covid polish is required to claim back 5 star. Great experience. Great Value. True Bangkok heritage.
