The inn is located in such a relaxing valley. We loved our second floor room with a view of trees and hills. The bed and the shower were comfortable and great. Much need quiet weekend away from the crowds and city life.

The room was very clean, and the staff was super friendly! It was nice and quiet, which made it the perfect weekend getaway. The only con was on our last day, the hot water in the shower wouldn’t really heat up. Not sure if this had anything to do with the fact that it was storming, but it basically didn’t warm up at all. We were in a bit of rush to leave due to the storm so we took our cold showers and left without mentioning it to the office staff. Other than that we really enjoyed the property.

HVI is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a quiet getaway. Restaurants, wineries and shops are less than a 10 minute walk away. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful area in Carmel Valley. Welcoming. Private parking. Beautiful views. State of the Art kitchen but the faucet was too sensitive. Difficult to keep it on since it had movement sensors. Nonetheless made a delicious dinner seated with view of towering trees. Would definitely go again!

The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was also clean and at a nice temperature. There were yard games as well. The hotel is a short distance from restaurants and wine tasting rooms. The check-in person was very friendly and helpful with information about the area. We would return here again to explore Carmel and Big Sur.

The resort and room looked better in person than it did in any of the pictures online. The only reason I didn't not give this review 5 stars is because the front desk girl could not tell us much about places to eat, see, or even where to park in Carmel. She told us she was born and raised in Carmel Valley and didn't know much about anything outside of that...we were a little disappointed!

The Hidden Valley Inn has undergone substantial renovations of late and the property keeps getting better and better with each stay. Highly recommended!

We loved how quiet it was and the beautiful view of the hills. Morning pastries were good! The heated bathroom floors were so nice.
We did not enjoy that housekeeping does not come to your room unless you request it. That was odd. The way of communicating with the front staff was through text. I found that to be very impersonal. The office staff is only there until 5 pm.

This was a beautiful place to stay. It had a wonderful pool right out infront of our room- didnt get in the pool but will definitely jump in next time. The carmel beach and carmel towel was only a 20 min drive away, it also had great dine in options that were walkable (5-7 mins). However, front desk staff mentioned they’d have fresh pastries out at 7 in the morning, but when we got there for 7:30 am they were still closed which was a bit of a bummer.

I had a great experience at Hidden Valley Inn. Truly a gem and at a very affordable price. I planned a solo trip for new years & this place was perfect. The only thing the room was missing was a microwave. But the bed was comfortable and the place was clean.

Hidden Gem in Carmel Valley

We were happy to find this hidden gem in Carmel Valley. The staff was friendly and accomodating, allowing us to check in early to fit our schedule. Our room opened to a small patio that looks out to lawn and beautiful trees. 2 cornhole games were available and inside the pool area was ladderball. The grounds are beaurifully landscaped. Looking forward to a return trip.

Cornhole right outside your rooom? Super annoying. For a small property, they offer too many games in the common areas. Nice for the parties there. Not cool for the rest of us who intentionally chose this location to get out of the fray.

Super Cute Place

Had an awesome time at Hidden Valley Inn in the Carmel Valley. The room was modern and very clean. The morning pastries were a nice touch and the grounds were well maintained. The only complaint was a strong fabreeze smell in the room and there is no hot tub.

Several shops, restaurants, and wineries were within walking distance. So convienient!

The staff (i think her name was Leiah - i cant recall now) was so friendly and so kind. They have great pastries and coffee in the morning. The pool was heated perfectly and was so refreshing after returning fro a jog through the valley. The location is an easy drive into Big Sur and because its not in Big Sur the price is right. Shops and restaurants nearby were pretty decent. We had a great time exploring Big Sur by day and relaxing in the valley at night. Junior suite was a decent size and clean.

A gem I the Carmel Valley

Could have not asked for anything more. The property is totally renovated and nested in between the mountains. The front desk is open between 8-5 pm but they have someone available on the phone after hours. They have a nice and clean pool to soak in after or before a day of activities. Their pastries are delicious. We will definitely come back.

Really good visit. Liana was excellent. Loved the renovation. Power went out 11:08pm 7-23-23 in all the Valley. Pitch black. Pitch. very frightening. Each room needs 1) night light in bath and bedroom plus flashlight. Also, did not find extra needed plugs under the sink on right til end of second day. otherwise, I look forward to my next stay and have already recommended you to family and friends living in CV.

The pool is very nice and the property is well maintained. The room amenities are lacking. No mini fridge. Housekeeping was on request but came when asked and did a great job. They have pasteries for breakfast but forgot to order them one morning. A bowl of fresh fruit would have been nice. There is no visible option for recycling.

Loved it, we'll go back again!

The grounds are beautiful. The room was well appointed, comfortable, had everything we needed. Sitting outside all evening, taking in the ocean air was peaceful and relaxing.
Our timing for arrival and departure were weird, the staff was accommodating and made it easy. That part of Monterey Co. is beautiful, and close to all the sights. Definitely recommend.

Hidden Valley Inn was a great option for us. It was clean and comfortable, although the bathroom/bathtub showed its age. The location is ideal and the grounds beautiful. The service was friendly, and add extra points for ice water and iced tea being available in the office and by the pool. Since there is no restaurant, it was especially convenient to have coffee and pastries in the office every morning at no extra charge. My only significant negative was the patio was literally a few feet from the patio next door so privacy outside was nonexistent.

This property is perfect for those stays where you need a clean site, close to your destination. The outside property was beautiful, and you cannot beat the view from the valley, looking up to the mountains. It's also close enough to Monterey or Carmel Beach, but secluded where you have your privacy without the crowds, commercial side of Monterey! Staff was also very attentive to follow-up to ensure your stay was going well.

Staff was very accommodating when we made a mistake on our reservation, they changed us to a new day with no issues whatsoever. The room and grounds were very clean, and the staff was super friendly. Fresh pastries in the morning were delicious, as well as the coffee and cold water/tea in the afternoons. Nice pool area, and several games to play around the grounds. A very minor hill to walk up, but otherwise quite easy and short walk into town, to explore dining and wine tasting. Had a great visit!

Very lovely spot. Looks to have been remodeled and newly landscaped. Very simple clean room. When we went up to get coffee around 8:30am, there was no one in the office, and other guests waiting outside. So we skipped that and just went and got breakfast near by. All in all a nice quiet getaway.

We loved this place for the price. The staff was very friendly and the grounds were clean. Our room was good enough. It was nice they offered pastries and coffee in the morning. The only downside to our room in particular was that there wasn’t a table or desk where we could put items we didn’t want on the floor. There was a desk in between the beds but that had lamps so there wasn’t much room for other items. We ended up using the ironing board and it worked fine. We will definitely stay again.

Hello, we really wanted to find a place to stay in the valley so we could do winetasting. So I thought I would try out your Inn. It was really hot on Friday and when we went to go check in around four there was no one around to check Us in so my husband and I waited for a while and then someone pulled up in the car got the mail and then walked into the office and checked us in. That was strange that no one was even there. We were given keys to room 1 and it was probably 90 something degrees in the room. There was no air conditioner. We found 2 fans in the closet. Knowing we were coming I feel the room should’ve been prepped at least with the fans running, it was stifling in there. Otherwise the room was very cleanly and after a couple hours when it cooled down in the evening everything felt much better.

Really this is a Motel.

I have to say, if they charged sixty to seventy-five percent of what they currently charge, I wouldn't have much of a problem. But they charge top-end hotel or luxury Inn prices for what is really just a motel. Let me be clear: you can put 'Inn' in your title and have a nice sign out front, but that doesn't make it an Inn. This is a motel with Inn/Hotel prices. Drive right up to the room (motel), toast and coffee for 'breakfast' without anything else (motel), tired rooms (motel) and without much else. We enjoyed our time here, and the location is nice for exploring the area, but I felt that they are very overvalued for what they charge. I don't have a problem staying in a place like this and sometimes prefer it, but it certainly does not have ANY of the amenities of an Inn or Hotel. Either they need to up their game and renovate the rooms and provide a decent breakfast or charge what is reasonable for what they provide and embrace what they are. I would still recommend staying here if you get a better deal, but not worth the price we paid (which according to the receipt is their standard Garden View rate). Pool is nice and the internal garden is well-maintained.
