The property situated in a serene area. Rooms are clean. Our room was facing the river. Amities are all close by. Food was amazing. It was trolling to watch birds coming to the feeder when we ate breakfast next to it.River tubing was fun. The staff was so kind enough to do the camp fire at night just for our group.
We had the best guide for our horse back riding. He was very knowledgeable and had the most patience to deal with inexperienced people like us.
We had the best time at here! Definitely recommend

We enjoyed a blissful 4 nights at Sweet Song. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the pool was serene, and the treehouse we stayed in immersed us in nature yet had surprising comforts like an excellent hot water shower. We particularly enjoyed birding in the morning with an expert guide and a horseback ride to see Mayan ruins.

The best start to our vacation! We wanted the jungle vibes and to be surrounded by nature - this place was perfect. The rooms are very comfortable, the property feels like elevated summer camp, and the staff are amazing.

It’s about a 10 minute drive to town, but there’s enough to do on property that you don’t even care. It’s a haven after a day of exploring around San Ignacio’s ruins and caves. Book it!

The property is very nice and has a lot of potential, but our stay had a few issues. The room cleanliness was not the best and there was a very strong noticeable mold smell. The AC also did not work in one of our rooms.

The food was just okay, and we found it was better to drive into town for meals.

The pool also had extremely cold water — probably the coldest in Belize — which made it barely usable.

Overall, the property is beautiful, but there are a few areas that could really use improvement.

She helped us get a tour for the Cave tubing and zip line all set up and it was one of our favorite thinks we did in the Jungle. The night hike is a fun thing to do with the kids. The Staff at the restaurant were wonderful. Everyone was great!

This resort is beautiful, peaceful and a wonderful place to stay. The staff was so nice and made our stay special. The restaurant was great, although the dinner options for vegetarians weren’t always amazing. Excellent breakfast and lunch. Our room was beautiful and secluded, we stayed in number 10, which had two beds and although we just used one bed, it did give us some extra space and extra room and did set us apart from the other rooms. The treehouses on property also looked beautiful. The pool area was great and we spent happy hour there most days. They have a great happy hour with 2-for-1 drinks that are only $10-$12 so that was an amazing deal! There are many fun adventures to be had in that area, we thoroughly enjoyed our four-day stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property overall! I recommend planning to stay on site and enjoy the infinity pool, maybe tubing on the river, taking a guided birding walk with an expert guide. Off-site excursions also available. We stayed in a treehouse room that felt private and luxurious. Food and drinks also excellent. We were happy with not purchasing the all-inclusive package; food can be ordered a la carte and not all drinks are included in the package anyway.

Sweet Songs was absolutely perfect for my trip to Belize. My room was always clean, there's plenty of wildlife around the resort including toucans and kinkajous (definitely take the night hike!!), and the pool is always a great option when not taking excursions. Breakfast and lunch have the same menu (both with great options) and dinner has a rotating menu that never disappointed. The entire staff is amazing, but Mason, Rita, and Esmeralda always went above and beyond :)

Overall had a wonderful stay at this quiet resort with my family. The food was delicious for every meal, and the staff were friendly, particularly Rita who went above and beyond in her service and was so kind and friendly, she just seemed to ‘get us’. The pool area is also beautiful. We booked a day trip to Tikal through the resort, and it was the highlight of our trip! Marco our guide was outstanding in his knowledge and so friendly, it was well worth the price.
Some things to consider, the welcome drink is a nice touch, but after a long hot travel up (went to the ruins on the way) to the lodge, we really would have preferred to go to our room first and freshen up. It felt akward to sit at the pool in our hiking shoes, and we felt sort of like we had to stay there for the drink. Maybe a drink ticket for later in the day would be a better option.
Also, the set dinner menu gave little option and was extremely expensive with no pricing. For our family of 4, we were shocked at one dinner costing almost $300 usd! The second night we were given the option just do main dinner, not all 3 courses, but the fact that nothing was priced until after the fact was misleading.
Other than that we had a wonderful stay, and would recommend for sure!

We enjoyed all the opportunities that were available to us both on and off site. We thoroughly enjoyed tubing and canoeing from the resort and also enjoyed the Botanical Gardens adjacent to the lodge. Every day, after our excursions we cooled off at the beautiful pool. We would recommend this place!

This was one of the best experiences we have had. Absolutely loved the Premier Treehouse and the staff was friendly and amazing. The food was very good and big portions. Esmeralda was fabulous. She explained everything in detail. We briefly mentioned we were there for our anniversary and the next day our room was decorated. This was a big surprise and meant a lot to us. Also, she brought everyone umbrellas when it started raining and wasn’t letting up. Her attention to detail was very apparent. The bartender at the pool side was also fabulous. He made the BEST drinks and provided great recommendations as to the excursions. We also did horseback riding on site and very much enjoyed this. The views were amazing and I would recommend doing this. The atmosphere and feeling of being in the jungle was what I was looking for. I would stay here again.

We stayed in the premium tree house and wow what an incredible place. If I could go back I would have booked the signature but they dont have the outdoor bed do its a personal preference. Service and staff is 10 out of 10, couldnt be better. So much to do on the property like kayak & mountain bikes, food is absolutely delicious. Cocktails by the pool is a must, especially happy hour. I recommend staying minimum 3 nights and really do STAY at the place. We saw monkeys, toucans. I would love to return. And they surprised us with a gift as we were celebrating our engagement here.

A Peaceful Jungle Retreat with Great Activities

We had a wonderful stay at Sweet Song Jungle Lodge in San Ignacio, Belize. The lodge is set in a beautiful and peaceful location surrounded by nature—it truly felt like an escape from the everyday.

The staff were all incredibly attentive and helpful, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable, although it was a bit on the darker side, which is to be expected in a jungle setting.

One of the highlights of our stay was spending an evening by the beach enjoying a cozy bonfire. We also joined a night hike and spotted some really interesting wildlife—such a unique experience! During the day, we loved the river tubing and canoeing options, and happy hour was always a lot of fun and a great way to unwind and socialize.

Overall, Sweet Song Jungle Lodge offered a great mix of relaxation and adventure. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Belize in a serene, friendly setting.

The lodge is very nice but the river/beach area was not clear as we expected (not their fault) and the last 2 miles driving in the road is in pretty bad shape. You NEED and AWD vehicle to drive here

Once you’re at the lodge, it is perfect. The rooms are beautiful and the food at the restaurant is amazing. The service is phenomenal. We came for our honeymoon and I am so glad we chose SweetSongs. Transportation is probably the most complicated. We ended up renting a car and had no issues getting to the lodge. There was a steeper section of the road in but our car was smaller and still handled it well. They also offer a shuttle to and from the airport for a fee. The horseback riding tour was life changing and we would highly recommend it.

Absolutely remarkable experience. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The location is isolated, and the drive to the town is about 15 minutes, but the trade off is the privacy and amazing service. You’re deep in the jungle, so you get to hear howler monkeys and unique birds all evening. The food was also really great, we ate most of our meals at the site restaurant and it was wonderful. We stayed in the signature treehouse and it was everything we wanted.

We opted to use their shuttles and excursions which provided high quality guides and timely reliable transportation. We especially enjoyed canoeing from the lodge to San Ignacio on market day seeing monkeys and birds along the way and visiting nearby Mayan temples. We highly recommend staying here.

Our stay was overall wonderful. The resort is beautiful.The staff were truly wonderful, welcoming and helpful.
We stayed at this hotel twice during our stay.
Over our two trips we stayed in 3 different rooms. On the first visit we had found a really great last minute deal on their website. We only ended up paying around €80/night for the classic villa. At this price what you get is exceptional: A big room with comfy beds in a stunning environment. However when I checked the normal prices this room comes in at around $200 minimum. For this price I would have been disappointed. The room is spacious and bed comfortable with lots of windows surrounded by greenery and flowers however the bathroom is gloomy, the room sparsely furnished, the terrace a little sad. When paying $200 for a room, you expect a little more charm. The photos on the website were taken before the room suffered any wear and tear.

On our second stay we booked the \"romantic\" tree house which was over €200 a night (again, a good rate in low season) which was nice but again, a little sparse for the price. When we arrived there was a problem with the room so we were moved to the signature treehouse for one night. These treehouses are exceptional. Huge, elegant, with a swinging bed and bathtub outside, the whole veranda surrounded by a mosquito net. This room is 100% worth the price (between $300-400)
Apart from the pricing being off, this place is spectacular, surrounded by toucans and howler monkeys!

Pool top notch. Very enjoyable. Before you book, If you require quiet, when booking your room, look how close you are to the Dinning and Bar area. They start working at 5:30am. There could be late night dinning noise also.

This was one of the best independent Central American hotels we've stayed in. AC worked great, it was very clean - we were greeted with decorations specific to the occasions we were celebrating. Drinks on arrival were great, happy hour at the pool was great (so was the pool itself), food was excellent. Bed comfort was fine. Hot water was plentiful and pretty consistent (which is unusual in Central America).
Excursions arranged by the hotel went off as planned. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We did see a couple bugs in the bathroom (understandable, as it's in the jungle), and when we notified the staff they jumped right on it.
We don't recommend taking the \"night tour.\" Beach bonfires are a cool idea but when it's still 85F, a fire is a little hot.
Do get to breakfast a little early and go out on the walkway to watch and listen to the birds. We saw a group of Toucans in their natural habitat. Very cool!
As far as excursions, we strongly recommend the ATM Cave tour (if you're adventurous), and go over to Tikal. If you don't do ATM, then do a cave tubing tour (but only if the water level is not low). If you don't do Tikal, then do Xuantunich.

We would definitely return to Sweet Songs.

A Jewel In the Jungle!!

An amazing experience! Abdiel, Rita, Ragner, and so many others took such good care of us. Such genuine people at a beautiful resort. Food was great! If you are up early enough you will see a wide variety of birds at breakfast. We even saw a few howler moneys in the evening! We did the ATM tour and appreciated the deep compassion and respect our guide (Ben) had for the history of the archaeological site. We'll be back!

Excellent mix of nature, wildlife, and comfort

We had a wonderful experience at the lodge. It was the perfect mix of getting away and experiencing nature with amenities that allowed one to truly relax. The restaurant was very accommodating to the palate of teens (13 and 16) as well, one who is a vegetarian. The pool was amazing and there was one night when I had the whole pool to myself. We loved the animals that we were able to see - toucans, the kinkajou who loves his bananas, and howler monkeys (including a baby!). While it is a bit of a bumpy ride to get there from San Ignacio it is well worth the drive and the minor inconvenience of staying outside of the town. We took the Tikal tour and found that it was very well organized and highly recommend it. My only complaint, a very minor one, is that I did not feel the pillows were very comfortable.

One of the best experiences abroad. The people here are extremely nice and accommodating. The tour guides and employees are so knowledgeable and honest and will treat you like family. The treehouse we stayed in was beautiful and private, and the staff made sure the environment was as beautiful as possible around the resort. Immersed in the wildlife and jungle, but somehow looking sharp and clean, this resort is one of a kind and I highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay around San Ignacio and do the excursions around Cayo, but also wanting a private and uniquely familial experience. Very unique stay in a treehouse with an attached tree \"patio\" There were soo many birds on the property, and a kinkajoo that came to eat bananas every evening at dinner. The Tree House Cafe was also amazing with a \"Jurassic Park\" feel with birds and howler monkeys calling in the distance!

Aptly named - as soon as we got out of the car we enjoyed hearing the bird songs. The gravel road to the property was rough in places but easily passable in a car. The pool was nice. We enjoyed birdwatching around the property. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

This is hands down the most beautiful, magical, and special place in the world. My fiancé and I got married here, elopement style, with a small group and I wouldn’t change a things! Sweet Songs went above and beyond our expectations and we really hope to come back as often as we can to enjoy this special place! The staff are so friendly and kind, the food is out of this world amazing, and the grounds are so peaceful!

We stayed in the Garden House, which is located at the base of the property. It doesn't have the elevated views of the other accommodations, but it's more private and secluded, has a large wrap-around veranda, and is steps from the Botanic Garden. It's more rustic than it looks on the website pics, and the futons in the pictures were regular mattresses made up as beds, so there wasn't really any seating other than the barstools. The kitchen included a microwave, coffee maker, and bottled water dispenser that was replaced when empty. I suggest stopping in San Ignacio on your way for groceries/snacks, since the road to the resort is narrow and bumpy- not a trip you'll want to take multiple times.
The resort itself is built on the river bank, with everything accessed by walkways with steps/stairs, so not a good choice for anyone with mobility issues. But everything is well-maintained, and the pool and restaurant are lovely. The food was very good, and we took the resort shuttle to dinner one night at the nearby Chaa Creek resort, just for a change of scenery.
The website mentions extensive hiking trails, but when I asked about a map/locations, I was told the only thing we could do on our own was the river tubing trail loop. Everything else required a guide. We did enjoy strolling around the Botanic Garden, but I had hoped to do more hiking.
The thing that stood out the most about the resort was the wonderful staff- everyone was hard-working, friendly and helpful!

We were in the Deluxe Bungalow for a family of 4. Room was very basic and needed a LOT of work. Drapes were all broken. Bathroom looked terrible (the worst I’ve ever seen at any hotel or resort even in the jungle) and severely in need of renovation. The entire room needed more light. These are the only rooms we could book with kids so couldn’t do the newer tree houses which I’m sure were nice! The pool area and restaurant/treehouse bar were great. The road getting into the resort is unpaved so takes about 20 min from the main road. All in all, I would not stay here again for family accommodations or recommend it to friends, but would suggest going for a dinner as the food and service was wonderful and next to the botanical garden so you could make a few hours of the visit.

The Best Staff You Can Find

The location is stunning and the accommodations are nice, but the staff make this place. They are kind, genuinely friendly, and go above and beyond. The food and drinks are top notch, there is plenty of wildlife, and the location is remote enough to feel special but close enough to access a wide variety of local adventures.

Nestled way back in the jungle with a beautiful pool. Great restaurant with delicious food. Room was clean and AC was cold. Right on the river and next to the botanical gardens. Lots of wildlife. And the name says it all…sweet songs for all the different tropical birds! I recommend a 4 wheel drive if you are driving yourself. Would definitely stay here again.

Had an amazing stay at Sweet Songs. The property is amazing and has plenty to do - we did the river tubing, canoeing, and horseback riding. Enjoyed the happy hour menu by the pool! The treehouse bar was nice and food was good, although a bit expensive for dinner.

Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge was a perfect place to stay and explore during our recent visit to Belize. The grounds are terrific, rooms comfortable and staff very friendly. The resort is relatively small which created a very personal experience.

Prior to our visit the staff was very helpful in getting the Cave Tubing/ Zip-lining and ATM tours coordinated. Both excursions were awesome, as were the guides.

We would definitely visit again.
