Beautiful setting and absolutely amazing staff that make you feel so welcome. Upon arrival our girls immediately went to the pool. Within minutes, Joe the groundskeeper arrived with fresh coconuts with straws for them to drink. Carlos the night time security guard was so friendly and helpful. We would love to return to Cassia Hill in the future.

The pool was enjoyable, the AC allowed us to sleep at night, we enjoyed the on-site restaurant. We also utilized the resort pay for fee shuttle service from the airport and to the water taxi. All very punctual and professional.

We weren't offered a bottle of wine, which is very discouraging since we were VIPs, and we only realized after we checked out and saw another couple being asked if they'd like one. Carlos, the security guard was great though and went above and beyond for us, very grateful for him though.

It is so beautiful here and I would highly recommend if you are looking at this property you put it to the top of your list!

This is one of those stays you will be glad you booked.

Recommend you have a car, this is more in relation to San Ignacio itself rather than the hotel.

Mine was left in the copier machine and I almost missed going to Guatemala the following day to see Tikal. Beyond that, wonderful everything

Cassia Hills has been around a long time and is a lovely property. Lounging by the pool was great, staff brought us fresh coconuts. In fact, the staff really MADE our stay. They bent over backwards to ensure that everything was great, helped us when asked and were lovely to interact with. Joe, Carlos and Sarlee (front desk) were friendly and kind. I was with my mom and aunt and our cabin was far from the front desk so Joe and Carlos drove us to and from the room...super nice. Would stay again.

We loved staying in this serene and beautiful property. The staff was super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were content. The cabins are clean, the beds comfortable, the air conditioners great, and the pool a refreshing respite from the afternoon heat. We appreciated being away from the bustle of San Ignacio and the opportunities for wildlife viewing on the grounds. The staff delivers your luggage to and from your cabin and arranges taxi rides to and from town, if desired. It’s a lovely and relaxing place to stay close to the Cahal Pech Ruins (about 2 kilometers).

Had a fabulous stay at Cassia Hill. Had a duplex style studio overlooking the gorgeously cared for grounds (#2). The room was surrounded by huge windows to enjoy the lush trees and plants from inside. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful both before and during my stay. Shout out to Aby who was impressively attentive and efficient! The room was generously equipped, clean and beautiful. The property sprawls and offers a small pool with a few lounge chairs, and a large restaurant with bar and great service (I had 2 dinners here and both were great). Just outside of town so quiet aside from traffic on the nearby highway, close to supermarkets, but would recommend a car for getting around.

Location was gorgeous, it was walking distance from town but far enough away and up the hill that it was so quiet and felt like you were in paradise.
The staff felt like family, they were so kind and helpful with any questions about the area or personal needs. They were quick and consistent at cleaning the rooms and the whole place was so well maintained.

We enjoyed our time here! Our family of five stayed comfortably in the “one room family suite” which had a mini fridge and a microwave. The grounds have beautiful landscaping and the pool is very nice. This was a great spot for a home base while exploring all the ruins.

Our stay at Cassia Hill was short but certainly memorable. The staff were all friendly and I felt as though everyone from reception to the kitchen to security wanted to get to know us. The restaurant manager Nen offered us lessons on how to make fry jacks, and the restaurant food was delicious. Our room was clean and nice, the campus was beautiful. Most notably of all was the security guard. His name is Carlos and he was very dedicated to serving his guests, making sure everyone is happy, safe, and having a good time. He went out of his way to set up karaoke for a family who asked about it. Carlos ended up doing karaoke with us, having a great time. He also offered transportation services which was convenient to have right on site at the resort and he offered to call taxis for his guests. He always went out of his way to make sure we were happy and having a great time. On our last day, Carlos came in when he was off the clock to take my friend and I to church, and he even attended church with us! A super kind man, and made our experience one to remember.

Love love love our stay, the staff were amazing all very helpful and over the time we stayed became like family. The location and grounds are great, good location to get to all the attractions. The rooms were spacious clean and well serviced. The pool was fun after a day climbing over Mayan ruins.
I can’t recommend this resort highly enough and we will definitely stay again when we return.
Big shout out to Carlos who was very helpful and a mind of information when it came to all things Belize.
If you considering Belize, just go, the place and the people are fantastic.

Great hotel and great property but they can do a LOT better job with activities and more amenities… the resort was pretty much dead. No activities and no groups stuff even on Christmas Eve. And the cab situation is a ridiculous rip off.. $5 per person to go 1 mile when the town taxi people were charging half of that. Also you’re surrounded by coconut trees but there won’t even be a person who can bring down coconut to have some fresh coconut water… what on earth!
The restaurant was good but charging for coffee refills is ridiculous…
Overall it was ok. I’d stay at a different property next time.

Amazing place, we loved it, kids had a blast. Pictures don't do it justice at all. Carlos, the security guard went above and beyond to make us feel good, i needed some extra coffee after hours and he provided his personal coffee. I offered to pay for it and felt embarrassed as he rejected it, it was just a warm gesture that was not done for a tip, was just because he was such a nice guy being nice on a regular day. We were there with grandma and kids age 4-14. Kids were free and safe all day on their own. Great place, so glad we picked it.

Fantastic customer service from the moment i checked in. Carlos, Sariya and Marisol were Fantastic. Carlos even gave us an evening tour of the lush groubds to searxh for exotic animals. I perfect place to stay to explore the Mayan ruins. Highly recommend this wonderful, beautiful property.

Nice comfortable rooms and relaxing pool. Great to have the restaurant there. It's only $10 to take a taxi from the center of San Ignacio. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Booked tours and a ride to the airport for me. Beautiful property. Wish they would plant more trees by the road to drown the noise some. Would definitely stay here again.

Buyers be aware!

We chose this place due the location and amenities, but upon arrival we found out things were different. Pictures matched the place, but no service. Started with the restaurant is not going to be open, as well as the pool bar because there was not enough guests. Not being in town became a problem to eat. Food delivery was messy and not reliable. All the tours, spa, trails were not there, everything had to be subcontracted for a higher price.

The grounds and pool at this hotel were stunning! Proximity to San Ignacio and all activities perfect! The room was lovely and spacious with a beautiful outdoor shower. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the head chef was so kind and thoughtful. My son and I got a stomach flu one day and she made us a an amazing ginger tea. The only downfall at this resort was the low water pressure and lack of hot water. You only get about 5 minutes before the hot water runs out.

We have traveled a ton but this is the worst experience we’ve had. There are two windows has big hole in the screen window and you are waiting be to bitten at night in the jungle. The room is super dark. When we asked the hotel to fix the screen window and they only fixed one and complained other units also have broken screen window. Really bad experience and they are charging us $70 because my toddler accidentally draw on the bedsheet - there is no table or chair in the room so we had to put our toddler on bed while we pack.

This establishment is excessively priced for the meager level of comfort provided. The air conditioning system generates an incessant noise, rendering the cottage uninviting and unsettling. While the swimming pool is a pleasant amenity, the overall experience is marred by the subpar quality of the breakfast served at the hotel. The breakfast, which we purchased separately, was mediocre, and I was particularly disappointed by the diminutive portion of melon provided.

The best place to stay in San Ignacio!! The grounds were absolutely beautiful, a little oasis just outside of the town center. The rooms were so clean and the AC was strong which we needed. The restaurant was great and so accommodating with our meals. All of the staff was wonderful and friendly. And the infinity pool was the cherry on top!

This hotel was fine for the price. Our room was surprisingly nicer than expected, and staff were helpful. But not having easier access to food/drink when the room had kitchenette features was difficult with kids. A microwave and fridge are only so helpful when there are no bowls, plates or cutlery. The restaurant/bar was only sporadically open, couldn’t be counted on.

Separately, though the pool was great, the whole property had a half-abandoned vibe to it. Made for a quiet, peaceful stay but you also wondered… why are there so few guests in high season?

We loved our room at Cassia Hill (#5). It was clean, air conditioned and had a nice view of the grounds, and housekeeping tidied it up daily. There was one attached room in the cabin and there wasn't much soundproofing. The desk staff (Sarli in particular) were very friendly and helpful, and took care of all tour and transportation arrangements for us. The pool was fantastic and we were lucky to have it to ourselves most of the time. The restaurant was good, but we felt it was better to go into San Ignacio for our meals (less expensive and more interesting). The hotel grounds are lovely and peaceful. It's a bit of a pain to walk (15-20 mins along a busy road that is currently under construction) or take a taxi to and from San Ignacio. We felt the place was under utilized, as there are a number of dusty buildings not in use, the bar at the pool wasn't in use, and there was no convenience shop for snacks or other items.

I loved how quiet and peaceful this property was. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. They were extremely helpful. I enjoyed having my own cabin. Everything worked perfectly. We were able to see Toucans, iguanas, Parrot Macaws just while sitting on our deck. We will be staying here again.

Cassia Hill Resort is a beautiful place, clean and nice , but there were no tourists and restaurant was not open.
I spent 2 nights in January - everybody said is in the season, but place looked sad.
I understand they can’t keep the reataurant open for just 2 tourists, but at least we could have been informed for limited amenities.
If plan to accommodate in Cassia Hill definitely plan to have a rental car

I really liked the atmosphere of the property. It was a very beautiful relaxing place to stay. The lady at the front was kind and helpful.

The breakfast was good. The breakfast took about 45 minutes to be ready, so make sure to give plenty of time. I underestimated and had scheduled a nature tour and had to eat fast because my driver was waiting. Also one night the kitchen was closed so we had to eat somewhere else. But the restaraunt area was very nice.

Being a world traveler would not recommend this at all. Eco friendly environments and rugged log cabins are ok. But be prepared for a cold water showers. We didnt not have any hot or warm water during our entire stay. They say one hot water heater supplies 4 cabins and you can imagine after coming back from a full day of tour and tired muscles. They cant fix and wont fix or change your cabins. Money wasted and sore experience
They also dont have their own restaurant either. U have to order from a subleased restaurant.

It was okay. Perhaps it was better at some point in the past. The staff wasn't great, and multiple times the kitchen just flat out said they didn't want to cook. Rooms were very clean, but didn't have a ton of amenities. The grounds were pretty though. Also, the wifi was absolutely awful. Not great when in a country where wifi is likely your only option. Would NOT stay here again.

This place is where you need to stay! Great infinity pool upgraded my room twice since I had to extend my stay while traveling to Tikal.

They are over the top above expectation friendly and had a bottle of wine for my wife which greatly appreciated.

This is a great location for someone venturing into Guatemala for the day. We were in Cabin 8 which was perfect for our family. Properties closer to reception look newer. Ask for a low number. The pool is nice after a hot day. There is not a lot of staff so expect to have to look for help at reception and breakfast. Ask if your breakfast is included in your stay. The breakfast is expensive for what is included. There is a grocery store less than 1/2 mile into town.

We booked on Expedia based on local friends recommendations.
Unfortunately we didn’t realize until after our 2 night stay was over that there are two parts to this resort. The part that our friends recommended which are new modern gorgeous villas And the old cabin section.
We stayed in cabins that were not very clean, very old, smelled bad, uncomfortable beds and the duvets on bed had spots and were not clean.
Being our first visit and from
Canada we did not want to complain and did our best to have a good time.
It was disappointing on the morning of checkout to take a different path and come across these new beautiful villas we could have stayed in. When I asked why they had not been offered as an option even after we requested a fridge which we thought we were getting based on our Expedia booking, we were told it was our own fault we didn’t ask.
How can you ask for something you don’t know is an available?
The staff was very professional and the property and pool lovely.
My point is not to complain as much as to advise others to book the villas unless you love old rustic buildings and enjoy camping. 😬

Cassia Hill was GORGEOUS. The buildings were lovely, the house was perfect. The outdoor shower attached to the bathroom was an incredible bonus. The grounds themselves were living gardens with wild iguanas on site and howler monkeys directly behind in the jungle/forest area next to the property. We had slow internet but they were quick to address and solve it. We arrived in the \"rainy season\" so slower season in July but it didn't rain. The restaurant was undergoing roof repair so wasn't in operation but we found a few very good restaurants nearby in San Ignacio. Very close to the Xunantunich Mayan ruins. The pool was awesome. The only not-so-awesome part is that it is near a major road so certain times during the day we could hear the car traffic. Throughout the town of San Ignacio they were burning trash pretty much constantly while we were there and the smell and air quality was really tough to get used to. Overall we enjoyed our stay and much appreciated the oasis and friendly faces that Cassia Hill provided for our family.
