The exterior property was very nice. The rooms were old, needing an update with new furniture, curtains, bedding. Lighting in the room was low. Complimentary coffee in the lobby would be nice. Our room did not have a coffee maker. Nice pool area, nice seating around the facility. I understand it is in new management and look forward to staying there again to see improvements. It was worth the stay.

This is our second stay at Rumors. Overall, the property is clean, but definitely in need of maintenance. The shower could use some remodeling and fresh paint. The pool, which use to be an amazing infinity pool, was closed in and you no longer get a view, so it was a bit disappointing. However the staff is nice, the music and the drinks are still great, and it's a chill place to hang out. There's road construction going on, so there was dust everywhere, though that isnt the property's fault. We were basically looking for air conditioning and a place to stay out of the sun and rest. We got it!

Good room. Terrible restaurant. Coffee was terrible. Pool was nice. However, loud music on Saturday until 3am! Could not sleep. Supposedly the owner threw a party! Hmmm. Not so nice for his guests. One night, went for dinner at 6:30 and the chef left. No nearby restaurants.

We stayed at Rumors for 7 nights and it really felt like home. We are US 67 years old, very fit,love to drink and drove from BZE with a rented car. The staff were excellent especially Joshua, Ulysses, and Elmer. As we moved through Belize looking back on our travels this was the best equipped with amenities such as cups, coffee, water, etc.

Food and drinks were very moderately priced and good. Especially after doing excursions (Tikal, ATM) all day. The pool was great. Some local families come to use the pool during the day which makes it great and exuberant. Saturday night Karaoke is a hoot with all the international guests! They dug up all these gypsy songs for some Chicago based Romanians. Hector, the lovely low key owner does his own Karaoke on Sunday afternoons which is mostly Spanish for families. Can't wait to go back!

Elmer and his staff were very accommodating. He scheduled our trip to Tikal which was well worth it and also told us how to get to Xunantunich. Ulysses and Nyellie went above and beyond to get our meals ordered correctly. The pool is gorgeous and bar service is available. Our favorite meal was a three course dinner celebrating Valentine’s Day. We highly recommend Rumors for those looking for a great place to relax.

The only reason I didn’t give this property 5 stars was because upon check-in and looking over the bed sheets it was clear they didn’t change them from the last guests that stayed there. We told the front desk and they had us switch rooms and from there we had no issues! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They helped us get a taxi to get around and answered any questions we had. We had nachos twice during our stay and breakfast once. Both were so good and fresh. I will also say that their landscaping is absolutely to die for. They keep it looking so clean and good. The rooms are outdated but I didn’t mind. I would recommend anyone to stay here!

My main issue was no hot water for the entire 3 days we were there. Also the cover they gave us for the bed literally fit just the top of the bed so we had to stay cuddled up all night just to have a cover. And it was thin as a top sheet so didn’t really do much to begin with. The only thing my husband and I liked was the pool and pool bar. Their bartender Brandon was the only reason we had a good time at all at our hotel. We were pretty ready to leave and it made our next hotel in Ambergris Caye seem like a five star hotel (Ocean Tide)

This was a really nice hotel outside of San Ignacio. The people working there were great and very helpful. The room was clean, but very basic. The air conditioning didn't sufficiently cool the room, but it was bearable. The bed was small, and the bedding not very comfortable. However, the pool was great, and so were the bartenders at the pool. Breakfast was good, and the service was excellent. We had rented a car to get to this hotel from the airport, and were very glad we did. It would be tough to get by in this area without one. Overall, it was a nice place to stay, very well maintained, in a really nice area.

The hotel is fine, the welcome drinks were appreciated and the staff very lovely. The pool is nice but crowded on weekends. The food was fine but pricier than any downtown restaurant. Nice to be out of the downtown business district, but this was just a bit too far. A taxi ride is $10 Belize to downtown.

Swimming over the jungle
When you swim in the infinity pool you feel as though you are floating over the Belizean jungle. The staff are all so friendly and they to cater to your every need. Our room was clean and spacious with air conditioning and a cold fridge. The resort is out of downtown San Ignacio but only a short $5 taxi ride away, and the staff is happy to call one for you, and once downtown you can't miss the many taxis ready to bring you back. The resort is quiet and safe and away from the bustle, perfect for families. So the tour operators know where it is and will pick you up for your jaunts to cave tubing or exploration of the ruins. There is a restaurant in the hotel which kindly arranged to make us an early breakfast on one of the days we had an early tour. Can't say enough good things about this have!

We had a nice four-night stay there. It was a good location with a great view. We liked several things about being there. We thought we could have had more ambience in our room though. The floor was very poorly done, the t.v. sound not good, no room refrigerator, and little decorations to make it look comfortable. Note to owners: it just needs a little fixing up to be nice as the size is good, the bathroom great, and the balcony access we had was greatly appreciated. We really liked the staff, pool, restaurant and bar. The surrounding scenery was a real plus! I was up every morning with the birds and jungle sounds to celebrate a new day out on our balcony! (That never happens in my \"real world\" as I'm a \"night owl!\" We had many good experiences there but mostly out of our room on the property, on designated tours, and in San Ignacio. For anyone considering staying at this resort, I'd advise checking out which room as they seems to be different choices.

Wonderful place!
This was a beautiful resort with outstanding customer service. We arrived early for a two might stay. Our room wasn't ready and we were welcomed to use the lovely, inviting pool and presented with delicious complimentary cocktails. The hotel's restaurant served extremely delicious food at very reasonable prices. The resort was located outside the town in a very quiet and scenic location. I would definitely recommend it.

The hotel was nice and close to activities. The hotel staff were great! Everyone was very friendly and very accommodating. We booked multiple excursions through the hotel and had a great time. The guide we had was fantastic! We had a lot of fun with him! The only negative was on our way home. We booked transportation to the airport through the hotel. On our way to the airport the van broke down and our driver called the hotel to tell them so they could send another car. They werent willing to send another vehicle to pick us up, and the only reason we made our flight was because a taxi stopped and offered to take us. Overall we had a nice stay here and probably would return.

Great Hotel near San Ignacio
Rumors is located in a beautiful spot 2 1/2 miles outside of San Ignacio, away from the noise of the town but still easily accessible with a five minute cab ride. The staff at the hotel was warm and welcoming and very helpful with anything we needed. Rooms are nicely furnished and beds very comfortable. And the pool was a plus since the days tend to be very hot there. Their sister tour company, Go-Maya, provided us a great tour to Tikal. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay again.

The staff was AWESOME, especially Daisy and Leon! They greeted us by name when we checked in. Even before we introduced ourselves. They were super friendly the entire time we stayed with them. At check-in the bartender brought everyone drinks to our room, and virgin ones for the kids.
They do not provided coffee makers in the rooms, so you have to purchase them at the restaurant each morning for $1.00 US. Average time for them to cook breakfast is about 20-30 minutes, so if you are in a hurry plan accordingly. We just ordered our breakfast from the bar area and told them we would be back about 20 minutes later and only waiting a few minutes once we were seated.
You will definitely need a car to go into town from the hotel, but it's only about a 5-7 minute drive. Or you could probably get a taxi each way.

This is a family run hotel and it is spotless.
This is our second time staying at Rumors Resort Hotel. It will not be our last. Such a pleasure to come back here as the entire staff make you feel like you are coming home. The hotel has finished their pool since our last trip and it is spectacular, unfortunately we had bad weather while there for the two nights so we never got the chance to use it but it looks great for adults and kids. Our room was a single for the two of us and very private, clean as a whistle very adequate. The A/C was very effective and the cable TV had many many stations. There was bottled water supplied and replentished daily. The restaurant and bar are right off the lobby and we enjoyed two breakfasts and one dinner. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. My wife asked for poached eggs for breakfast even though they were not on the menu and voila - they said no problem and she received exactly what she asked for done perfectly. By the way the prices for their food and beverages is very reasonable! We intend to return to San Ignacio in January with another couple and will be booking our stay at Rumors again. We highly recommend this hotel/resort to anyone who needs accommodation while in the area of San Ignacio. John & Ellen A.

We stayed at Rumors Resort for 12 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the entire stay. The room was spacious and clean and the hotel staff was delightful and accommodating. The swimming pool is beautiful and was a welcome sight after spending a day touring. I would wholeheartedly recommend Rumors to anyone staying in the San Ignacio area.
