Book Hotels with Bitcoin and Crypto: A Practical Guide

From choosing a room to checking your booking confirmation.
In this guide

Hotel booking with Bitcoin and crypto: search, review room rates, pay the invoice, and check confirmation.

Book hotels with Bitcoin or another supported cryptocurrency through CryptoTraveler. This guide explains how to compare rooms, check the rate conditions, pay the invoice and find your booking confirmation.

Start with hotel search. The payment methods available for your booking are shown at checkout, so check those options before committing to a room.

1. Search for your destination, dates and guests

Choose your destination, check-in and check-out dates, number of rooms and guests. Include children and their ages where requested: the room capacity and available rates need to match everyone who will stay.

Compare the hotel location as well as its facilities. A lower room price may be less useful if the hotel is far from the places you plan to visit. Check the arrival date carefully, especially if an overnight flight gets you there the next day.

2. Compare room rates and cancellation conditions

Different offers at the same hotel can have different terms. Before choosing a room, review:

  • The room type, guest capacity and included meals.
  • The total booking price and the currency used to display it.
  • The cancellation deadline, any cancellation charges and whether the rate is refundable.
  • Any taxes, resort fees, deposits or other charges payable at the property.
  • Check-in requirements and any important rate comments.

Paying with crypto does not change the cancellation rules for the room. Choose a rate whose conditions fit your plans and read the booking details before payment.

3. Enter the guest and contact details

Use accurate guest names and a contact email address you can access while travelling. Review the hotel, dates, rooms and guest count again before continuing. Your booking voucher and updates will be sent to the contact details provided.

If you need to correct something, do it before paying. Changes after confirmation depend on the hotel and the conditions of the selected rate.

4. Choose Bitcoin or another available crypto payment

At checkout, choose Bitcoin or another supported cryptocurrency from the options shown for your booking. Ethereum, stablecoins and other crypto options may be available; use the checkout to confirm the supported asset and payment route.

Read the invoice instructions before sending funds:

  • Use the exact cryptocurrency and, where specified, the network shown on the invoice.
  • Check the payment address or payment instructions against the invoice.
  • Send the full invoice amount. Do not subtract wallet, exchange or network fees from the amount the recipient must receive.
  • Pay before the invoice expires and allow time for the required payment confirmation.

If paying from an exchange, check its withdrawal fees and processing time first. An exchange withdrawal can arrive late or short if those details are overlooked. Follow the invoice status rather than assuming that sending funds has completed the booking.

5. Check the hotel booking confirmation

Payment confirmation and hotel booking confirmation are separate steps. A wallet transaction alone is not your hotel voucher. Once the booking is confirmed, check the confirmation email and your account booking details, and keep the booking reference available for your trip.

Before travelling, verify the hotel address, stay dates, guest details and any instructions for arrival. Keep a copy of the voucher you can open without mobile data.

Common questions about booking hotels with Bitcoin

Does the hotel itself need to accept Bitcoin?

You pay for your booking through CryptoTraveler using the payment methods offered at checkout. Any charges collected directly by the property, such as a deposit or a local fee, follow the hotel rules and may require a different payment method.

Can I cancel a hotel booking paid with crypto?

Cancellation eligibility, deadlines and charges depend on the room rate you booked. A crypto payment does not make a non-refundable rate refundable. Review the rate conditions and contact support with your booking reference if you need help.

What if the invoice expires or I send the wrong amount?

Check the payment status and the instructions for your existing booking before sending more funds or starting another booking. If the status is unclear, contact CryptoTraveler support with your booking reference and payment transaction details. Never send wallet recovery phrases or private keys.
