This is a true B&B. The hosts were warm, welcoming and made for an excellent experience. Breakfast was the best we had on the entire trip.

The rooms were quiet, comfortable and included local wool throws on the bed. The stay here was a highlight of our trip.

Outstanding!! I felt completely taken care of there. My food allergies usually throw a wrench into things, but Colin and Sarah put a lot of effort into making sure I had as many wonderful dishes as everyone else. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing as was the stuffed pastry dinner and delicious coleslaw. I can’t recommend this place enough. 👏👏 well done ❤️

Fantastic Experience! Colin and Sarah were wonderful hosts. The room was large and comfortable. The food was excellent, make sure to book a dinner! We needed an early start and they accommodated us with an early breakfast (also excellent food). If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This hotel is also within walking distance to the Cardhu distillery so that is a nice perc as well.

The only parking on the trip that was not a pain, you would think an Volvo XC was a tank in the rest of Scotland. A little off the beaten path which we were looking for. Quiet, beautiful grounds, had a chat with the gardener and it showed that he loved his work. Not for the crowd that needs all the bells and whistles. Just a beautiful country home.

Short break during the Speyside Whisky Festival

Host Colin made us feel welcome straight away and was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Guest rooms have everything you'd need for a short break, The rate included a lovely freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of choices and a homemade granola and berry compote to start with, fresh pots of coffee and toast. The House is a short 15-minute drive to a number of small towns nearby with pubs and restaurants.

Amazing Cottage Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Cardhu Cottage House! The room was very comfortable and the mattress perfect for a good night sleep! The breakfast was delicious and the French press coffee an extra bonus(a good cup of coffee so scarce in Scotland)! Colin and Sara were perfect hosts, very knowledgeable of the area and so friendly!! I highly recommend this place!
It is very conveniently located to the many attractions in the area!!

Beautiful B&B. The owners were lovely and so kind. We arrived towards midnight on the first day as we were driving all the way from London and they were flexible with our arrival which was appreciated. We made them aware of our vegan food requirements before arriving so they had vegan haggis and other nice things for our breakfast. I would only say that it would be great if breakfast could be available until 10am upon request the day before as finishing breakfast serving by 9am is a little difficult for those who are not very early risers when on holiday. Perfect location for many distilleries!

We completed this while on the Speyside walk and the hosts were extremely welcoming and they have an amazing house and home. We were exceptionally complementary and would definitely like to stay again.
We really appreciate the extra effort you put in and the food was probably the best I have had in a hotel.
If walking from the Spey please look out for the shortcut through the woods that says Cardu which will take 10 minutes off of your walk.

A very enjoyable two-night stay at this lovely B&B in a beautiful and peaceful location in the heart of Speyside. We were made very welcome by Dave and Val. Our room was very comfortable, with a nice view over the garden. We opted for the set menu dinner on both nights. The food was delicious, both for breakfast and dinner (definitely restaurant quality!). We hope to book again in the not-too-distant future so we can explore the area in more detail. My wife and I were very excited to vacation in Scotland and we were very glad that we chose the right place to stay. The owners, Dave and Val, made our stay a memorable one-of-a-kind experience. First, the house is a beautifully maintained stately home with gorgeous views overlooking the hills and nearby fields. We were fortunate enough to enjoy the sunset every night while we sat and relaxed outside.

Breakfast was outstanding; everything was cooked to perfection and provided us a nice relaxing start to the day. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay for dinner during our visit since we were out all day, but we wish could have.

My wife and I stayed in the Macallan Room and it was perfect. The views were amazing and the little touches made our stay feel like we were home. We were able to sit in the main room downstairs and enjoy the sunset while watching a bit of television and having some conversation with Dave.

Dave is an extremely gracious and affable host and truly enjoys his guests. Scotland is an amazing place and when we vacation again, we would not even consider staying anywhere other than the Cardhu Country House.

My husband and I stayed at Cardhu Country House for four nights in the Macallan room. Dave and Val were exceptional hosts. The food was excellent (especially the breakfast, which was always cooked to perfection and so delicious!), and the room was immaculate and very comfortable. Being such a central location in the Highlands, it was great to drive out and explore in and around the area for the day. We made it out to Inverness, Culloden Moor, Urquhart Castle, and even did the four-hour drive to the Isle of Skye (which was definitely worth it if you’re up for the adventure). There are also a few local spots to visit such as the Cardhu distillery down the road, the Knockando wool mill and shop, and the church just behind the house with a very beautiful cemetery walk. We would highly recommend staying here, and look forward to coming back again!

This is a wonderful hotel. You will need a car. Visit any of a number of distilleries or take day trips to other towns and sites. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. Dinner can be purchased and was delicious both nights we stayed there. We saw deer and grouse from the dining room window - an added treat. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean.

Excellent BnB in the heart of the Highlands

Our stay at Cardhu Country House was wonderful. The location was tucked away in a quiet, country setting, but was easy to find close to plenty of activities.

The room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities you'd need for your stay. Our hosts were great, too. From their local recommendations to information on the history of the area to the delicious breakfast - everything was wonderful.

My only complaint is that I didn't say longer! If I find myself in the Scottish Highlands again, I'll definitely be coming back to stay here.

Calming B & B nestled in whiskey country

Located at the end of a quiet (but well sign-posted) lane, about a 3-minute drive off the B9102 and 2 minutes away from the Cardhu distillery, this country house turned B & B is flanked by farmland, a quiet tucked-away church, and views of whiskey country galore. The host, David, welcomes his arriving guests with charm and enthusiasm that belies the efforts it must to run such a well-ordered, comfortable home away from home. Our room (The Glenlivet), spacious and immaculately clean, boasted a king-sized bed and included a more than ample sized en-suite bathroom complete with amenities, robes, and fluffy towels. We reserved for dinner in this away from it all place (which, like other reviewers, I strongly recommend because our dinner of starter, entree, and dessert was wonderfully flavored home-cooked food that is locally sourced; there probably isn't a better meal anywhere within five miles) in order to not have to drive elsewhere to dine after hours of already being on the road that day. Remember to bring your own wine! We enjoyed a short walk up the lane after dinner, then relaxed in the comfortable sitting room before bed. Our breakfast the next morning included an assortment of quality serve yourself starts (cereal, yoghurt, fruit, etc.), tea/coffee/juice, and a choice of four hot dishes. We took our time departing and left feeling fully rested and delighted that we had the opportunity to stay at Cardhu County House for 1 of our nights on Speyside's Malt Whiskey Trail.

Cardhu Country House is so beautiful - the grounds and the rooms. Dave is so warm & welcoming and thinks of everything. Excellent communication before and during our stay. Delicious breakfast. We absolutely loved our stay. From the moment we arrived Dave went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met, he was an amazing host. The House is beautiful and our room was well appointed. The room was lovely and the King size bed was SO comfortable! Lovely house in Speyside countryside... Dave was an excellent host. The house does not have an elevator, so it is good to be aware of that if you book the Macallan room on the third topmost floor. The room itself is very comfortable and quite modernly and tastefully furnished. Softest robes are a nice touch! Breakfast offerings were delicious and extensive. Felt like you were visiting friends at their home. Highly recommend to anyone visiting distilleries such as Cardhu, Macallan, and Glenfiddich. They don't serve dinner on Sundays, so we can't attest to dinner, but would have been keen to try it.

Quick stop in the country

This was a one night stay coming down from Highland to Edinburgh.
Owners we great, very helpful with local info. Bed was nice and breakfast was delicious. Would stay again

Val is a top chef. She makes amazing meals. Dave is the consumate host. We had a great time in the common living space with 5 German people.

Charming B&B in the Highland Countryside

After a beautiful drive through Speyside, we arrived at the charming hotel which looked like a small castle. We were met at the door by the owner who was very friendly, accommodating, and personal. The room was very updated and charming with grand views of the countryside. After a great dinner in a pub in a nearby city, we relaxed with great conversation and a warm fire in the front room where we met some other guests. Breakfast was amazing. Handmade in the kitchen by the owners and fantastic tasting. The owner remembered our names and called us by them. Checkout was easy and we were on our way for more exploring. I couldn't recommend this place more! One of our best experiences in our travels.

Friendly welcome. Spacious room and comfortable bed. I wanted an early breakfast, which wasn't a problem at all. Great choice at breakfast. The whisky porridge was a treat. 5 stars
