The staff were exceptional and made us all feel very welcome. The breakfasts and meal we enjoyed in the restaurant were first class. The bar was a lovely place to spend time and the whiskey knowledge was incredible. The room was very comfortable great water pressure and super comfy bed. Would return in a heartbeat.

Lovely small hotel, however our room was next to the road and could hear every vehicle as it went by even though there was secondary glazing. The property is a gem and great choice for our stay in the Speyside area.

Parking is available right across the street, and the hotel is within 10-15 mins drive from a number of distilleries and the Speyside cooperage.

Staff are very friendly and we had an amazing time during our stay. The hotel restaurant and bar were great options (although plan a good amount of time as service may take a bit longer) - do check out the Spirit Safe if you're a whisky fan!

The property is full of character. The room is clean and bed is very comfortable. Highly recommended!

Fabulous three day stay at Station Hotel. Jacob checked us in, tended bar, and served our 10 course dinner. The chef Aiden was fabulous and was a perfect way to end our 54th anniversary celebration. The bar had 200 single malts available. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Excited to recommend highly thus hotel in the Speyside Whiskey region.

This would be our second visit to the station. This time we opted for a suite.
The hotel itself is stunning , quiet , beautifully decorated, and relaxing.
Our suite was spacious and well decorated.
The highlight of the stay, apart from the amazing food, is the staff. The three team members that looked after us were kind, polite and attentive. Georgia in particular was always cheery, and had a knack for being wherever you were when you wanted something.
This hotel is perfect to destress and treat yourself.

Nice hotel situated in the middle of Whiskey country. The young lady behind reception was fantastic and very welcoming, always had a smile on her face.

Elegant hotel in beautiful Speyside!

What a perfectly charming boutique hotel!

Ideally located in the heart of Speyside, we stayed for two nights and drove out to visit whiskey distilleries in the surrounding area.

The room was deeply comfortable, with two easy chairs and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious, the hot water abundant. We really enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast and ate dinner there both nights. A really good kitchen.

We can’t say enough about the staff who were pleasant and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

Most travelers may not think of Rothes as their hub in this single malt whiskey region, but think again!

We stayed at the Station Hotel in Rothes for two nights over the weekend of 28th-30th August, 2020, in what was our first Post-Lockdown break. It was clear upon arrival, that the hotel took the health and wellbeing of it's guests and staff very seriously with a concise questionnaire and temperature checks before we were given access to our room. There were also numerous hand sanitising facilities throughout the hotel and the room had been thoroughly cleaned, sanitised and sealed prior to our arrival. All of this was very reassuring in the current climate and all guests/staff observed the instructions to wear face coverings in the Corridors and Reception areas.

Our room was very well appointed with plenty of storage available, a great shower and in-room hot drinks facilities, everything that we needed really. It is clear that the restoration of the building and it's interior has been carried out to a very high standard and both the Restaurant & Bar areas were very plush and welcoming.

We ate in the Restaurant on the second night of our stay and the food was extremely good as was the breakfast on the two mornings that we ate there with plenty of choice on the menu. I have to say that Ann(e) who served us breakfast on both mornings and dinner in the evening was absolutely wonderful. That said, all of the staff that we encountered were extremely professional and welcoming.

Nice enough rooms but more business than leisure

The hotel has been refurbished and the rooms were comfortable and of a good standard. The food was not so good, edible but we only ate there once and then went elsewhere. The location is a little disappointing, the next village down is much prettier and has better places to eat. There is a bus service but a car is really needed if you're staying here, which limits the whisky tastings. That said we managed to get a taxi home every night from Craigellachie. The hotel is right on a road where all the whisky trucks rumble past, didn't disturb our sleep but does ruin the tranquility somewhat. I'd say this was a good hotel for business travel and a reasonable hotel for holiday.

The Station Hotel is a charming hotel. The check-in process was easy and quick and the staff was friendly. Our Room was clean, but it was a little small (King Bed). We really had to get creative with how we stored our luggage. The bed was comfortable. Only issue was we had a hard time balancing the room temperature. The radiator took a while to get going and once the room got to a good temp it took a long time for it to turn off, which meant the room got hotter. Same thing with the towel warming rack in the bathroom. These are relatively minor inconveniences, though.

The hotel is right next to the main street going through town so if your room faces the road, just keep in mind you'll probably hear and feel most cars passing by. My wife and I are used to this since we live on a busy street in LA.

The only other issue we had was that the Whiskey Bar, which was beautiful, was not staffed 100% of the time. So, it took a while to get drinks, and it felt like we were inconveniencing them by getting more drinks.

Overall, though, we were happy with our stay and would recommend this place to friends and family.

The hotel is outside of the city Elgin, and the effort to find it was rewarded abundantly. The room was fabulous. We had a family suite. The food was outstanding. The staff were great. The personal touches were appreciated. The place is worth seeking out if you are in the north of Scotland.

This hotel has 20 bedrooms and is in the midst of the distillery area. It was a perfect spot for our day trips around the area. Our junior suite was comfortable and clean. The food was great. The village, Rothes, is very small so the choices for dinner were limited however the meals at the Station Hotel was excellent. Make sure to include the breakfast option during your stay because there are not any other restaurants in the area except for a fish and chips and a pub in town. I enjoyed speaking with the employees about the area and they were all accommodating and had many friendly and wise suggestions regarding local things to do. My only complaint was in the shower there was evidence of mold in the shower and when I pointed it out to the desk manager, I was assured that it would be cleaned up in a timely manner. Unfortunately we left the same day. Meal: I was surprised that the fish platter was all smoked cold fish, for $33/per person, not a good choice if you do not like smoked trout, smoked salmon and pickled herring. I think the fish platter should be named so that one understands immediately what the dish is. Overall, we were very pleased with the Station Hotel and will visit again. Please note, no elevator in the property, but a complimentary flagon of whiskey was waiting for us in the room!!

The staff really made this place. Everyone from reception through to bar and restaurant was friendly and welcoming. Room was ok. Well equipped although being picky a few issues could be improved. ( Shower in bathroom could benefit from the sealant being replaced. Black discolouration never a good look. Wardrobe door didn’t stay closed). Location good for getting around area. Should point out main raid position makes rooms at front of hotel prone to traffic noise.

Amazing Gem in Speyside

This hotel is amazing! Great staff, amazing comfort, and the food served on property is delicious! We booked this hotel off the cuff and were blown away! The only downside I saw was that there was no lift in the hotel and our room was on the 3rd floor, which meant hauling our bags up the stairs. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, breakfast was the best we had on our trip and it was included with our stay. We had dinner and breakfast in their main dining room but the bar was just as good, we stopped in for lunch the next day, they also have an awesome \"Spirit Safe\" room where you can enjoy one of the hundreds of whiskeys they have in stock. Our room was the Glen Grant suite and it was amazing. Great room with a separate sitting area and an amazing bathroom with claw foot tub! The hotel has 5 or 6 suites that are named after local distilleries and they are all amazing! If you happen to book one of those, they provide a small decanter of the whiskey from that distillery in your room as well, was nice to have a dram in your suite while winding down the day. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling through Speyside on a distillery tour or just want a weekend away in a classic local spot but still want to be pampered a little.

Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. They have an excellent whisky collection and a resident expert to help put together sampling flights. Hotel decor is attractive and well maintained. Bed was comfortable and room had good curtains with windows that opened if you wanted a little fresh air. Hotel is right on a well travelled road with mostly daytime traffic. The occasional big truck would send a vibration through our third floor room. Bathroom was small but nicely appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Everything about our stay was absolutely lovely. All the staff we encountered were pleasant, efficient, and helpful and the whole hotel feels very luxurious. Our room was comfortable and clean, and we really appreciated the fact you can adjust the heating and open the window if needs to be, as a lot of hotels these days don't allow that. The breakfast deserves a special mention; the pancakes with berries and maple syrup were delicious, and my husband assures me the full Scottish breakfast was just as good. Although the prices may be a little higher it is reflected in the quality and we'd definitely stay here again

Great spot central to going to visit distilleries. Would have given a perfect rating but room 102 is adjacent to the kitchen and therefore quite a lot of noise through the wall at all hours. Spoke to reception and they know of the issue but didn’t have any other rooms available for us to stay in. Otherwise, hotel is spotless and good hospitality.

Lovely local people offering exceptional Scottish hospitality and showcasing the region as it should be seen! Puts all the others to shame for sure!

This hotel was a great base to visit the Distillery's of Speyside. The staff was MORE than accommodating, at one point there were no taxi's available and the Chef gave us a ride. The room was nice (corner room looking down the street - can be noisy but we are used to city sounds and it was quiet relatively early in the evening). Huge selection of whiskeys to taste, very knowledgeable staff, great menu, the food was good and all around great stay.

I was put in room 102 which was next to the kitchen. Unfortunately every time someone went in and out of a large fridge or larder, it shook the walls and was really loud. First night i hardly slept as it was still being banged at 1am and back again at 5am.

Perfect place to explore Speyside whisky! We were given an upgraded room, which was fantastic! The restaurant and food was also great. The only thing that could be improved is the Wi-Fi.

First Class!

Highly recommended

Very comfortable boutique hotel in Rothes in Speyside. Very pleasant rooms and bathrooms and particularly enjoyed the gratis tipple in each room. Perfect spot for Speyside whisky tours, Cawdor Castle (and many others) etc

Great hotel

We had a great stay. The staff were lovely and the hotel was clean and tasteful.
Our room, which was the Caperdonich, was fantastic.
The town is quiet but we had a wee walk about all the same. The hotel had an amazing Gin and whiskey selection so get there and enjoy;-)
