I had two bookings and only stayed one night before going to another hotel for two nights, then returned for three more nights under the other booking. This one night stay was fine, but I have some complaints about the all inclusive upgrade on my second booking, but that is for that review. It’s not worth it. Great one nighter though.

Hotel rooms are in poor conditions. Air conditioning does not cool properly and there is a strong bad rotten odor coming from the vents. Toilet seat was broken and the drain of water is poor. Beds are not comfortable.

Would stay there again a million times

The buffets are amazing, endless choices, tasty food, menu well put together, great for everyone (with or without diet restictions, kids, old people, picky people,etc). Ive never seen so many choices for milk, some 10 kinds! Great salads, great fruits, too. Spacious rooms. Convenience stores. Activities for all ages (zoomba, flamenco show, pilates, etc). Helpful and upbeat staff. My only negative comment: the upholstered chairs in buffet area are in dire need of cleaning. Note: in that area the beach is rocky, no fine sand, but better beach 100m away.

This hotel is good for family with lots of kids and want to stay in Marbella area without spending lots of money. The lobby, restaurant, and the pool area are very good. The conditions of the rooms are terrible. Terrace dirty and doors are broke. The beds and bellows are very old and bad. The whole room and bathroom are old and outdated. And the room someone would have very bad smell. This should be around $120 a night hotel not $225 .
I would not stay there again.

Bonjour ! Le parking un calvaire puis c est payant. Pour une femme de ménage qui rentre le premier matin sans permission et en lui refusant de rentrer à 8h du matin mon mari était encore endormi et moi allongée! Le pire elle m’annonce s’il ne le faisait pas elle ne pourra le faire que jusqu’au lendemain ! J’étais sidérée par son audace et impolitesse ! Je n’ai jamais vu ceci de ma vie. Ensuite, je me suis plainte au près de la réceptionniste, elle était choquée et elle a immédiatement envoyé quelqu’un pour faire la chambre. Autrement on auraient quitté l’hôtel immédiatement.

The room we had was nice. Everything was in good repair, modern, updated, spacious with good linens. The lobby is enormous, with a bar/restaurant, but no room service. The hotel has three pools, but none are heated.

We had very bad service, the staff were not helptul at all, the bedsheets were not changed throughout our whole stay which was 5 days. We were a couple with a child, they gave us twin beds put next to eachother even though we requested a king or double bed , they said they \"dont\" have this in the hotel which was very odd. Our daughters bed was a sofa bed that opens up, it was not safe, she hurt her head had to be taken to the hospital and get stiches because of the spacing in between, her bed was not even made, we called reception and they told us there is no room service now you have to wait until tomorrow, they expected us to do our own bed. The staff were so unprofessional. I will never go back to that hotel again. I hated my entire holiday because of this hotel.

We stayed there as the whole family was in for a wedding so needed kids facilities and they were ok. Our room was adequate but my friend's economy room was filthy. She complained and they offered another room. The hotel is huge 1200 people lots of kids and noise. The pools are nice and breakfast ok

Shower gel dispenser didn't work properly, would have preferred individual toiletries for a 4* hotel.
Shower was a little worse for wear as well & sometimes water got hot or cold without warning.
I would expect at least a couple of complimentary bottles of water in the room.

Hi regarding the hotel the staff is not just ready to help you with the luggage if you are with family ..but obivios u have a lot of luggage. There is nobody to help you.

Mr louis duty manager was a sweet person tried to offer help but the other staff is ignorant about helping.

You have to pay for everything even the safty locker in your room ..the garden view room has a very ok view not advisable at the pool staff refuse to give towels ..so now u can imagine.

Over all very disappointed with the hotel in general,
Reception staff lovely and gave me a room with beach view. But from then onwards things went downhill.
Room had sticker on door to say been cleaned and sanitised but on opening the room smelt funky and not in a good way. I opened the terrace doors to air and only one door opened.
Terrace covered in sahara sand and glass terrace filthy.
Ants in the bathroom.
Towels so tired and threadworn!
Long black hair on sink and the duvet cover
TV remote did not work.

I went to pool restaurant and the hygiene standards i witness were very poor. But also i witnessed the all inclusive buffet bar with guests using there hands to touch the food and not the provided thongs ( not the hotel fault how people conduct themselves) but i decided not to eat at the hotel as hygiene standards so poor.

HAd decent memories of going to this hotel in the past, but afte rthis trip wont be going again> They want to charge extra for everything, parking, use of the in-room minisafes, late checkout (even though hotel was half empty.
Indoor pool has been removed since my last visit, and the main pool was drained therefore out of use. Kids club was closed.

Shame about the reception and the lifts

Everything was great except… Reception which was slow snd understaffed making it a 30 min wait to check in and check out and this was only after I complained. The other problem was the lift, we were on the 4th floor but there was always a queue for the lift. It was as especially difficult when we were leaving with luggage as when the lift came it was always full. It was ad the shame as the rest of the staff were excellent!

Rude reception lady but soon as the spanish arrived it was a different story wont be going back.
Since its been taking over by Sol hotels its all about ripping people off and wanting money off you for everything i mean €55 for a late check out until 5pm that was not far off the room price per day! Hence i never paid it.

Lovely Hotel, bit of the beaten track , if you have children it wont matter as their is lots going on for kids. Foods lovely, my only complaint was their are 10 TV channels in English and all are news channels. Get sick of listening to the same news.
No film channels, not even if you wanted to pay for one.
The Taxi fares charges are outrages they are double our prices.

The room was unrenovated and windows to the patio did not close or open easily or properly. The AC did not work in both rooms that we had booked. It was super hot. The bath tub was coming apart and we had no hot water in the morning. The property itself was nice, the pool was great and so was the breakfast. The location is not great and requires a car and it’s not easy to find the hotel as there is a weird turn to get in there.

Here is the good the bad and the down right ugly on our stay at this hotel.
Good: The entertainment staff were excellent they did an amazing job. They were outstanding and energetic. They were the best thing about this hotel.
Bad: Even tough there was a big selection for breakfast each morning the food left a lot to be desired. It would be better to have a smaller menu and improve the quality of the food.
The Ugly: During the busy meal times they had one man Jose attending the tables. Jose did his very best to help as many people as possible. But when he was not able to get to out table I went to the restaurant bar to get a drink only to be growled at by Mari-Carmen and treated with utter disgust and indignity. Another guest a lady had the same problem and was attempting to get a drink as well. I tried to explain to Mari -Carmen what was going on only to be treated as though I was a petulant child. She did get a drink for me and the lady next to me. But she simply threw the bottom remnants of a bowl and chucked the glass towards me. I reported this to hotel management only to find out that Mari-Carmen was a supervisor.
Unfortunately there was also a constant smell of urine in the hallways. The hotel looked nice in the pictures and was excited to get there only to find the pictures did not truly reflect the current condition of the hotel which is in need of some major updating and remodeling.

AC did’mt work for most of our stay, I had to tell them few times!
Pool and grass area aroud it is not very clean.
Location is tough to find if you use Apple map, make sure to use google map.
I wanted to play tennis but staff couldn’t communicate with me in English to guide me to a tennis couch next door, odd!!
Virw from our room was beautiful, staff tried to help us so I appreciate that.

New build but drainage from shower inadequate. Hotel grounds very poor grassed areas boggy and very sharp grass to walk on and where it had been turfed with new turf was very badly laid uneven.with large gaps.loads of building work going on behind screens around the grounds. Many diggers lorries jackhammering going on. Was there for 5 days before the new splash park was partly opened,the tarmac was being laid whilst the kids were playing in the bit that was operational although when finished looked as though it would be nice but sadly we left before we could see it’s full potential. At meal times had to ask several members of staff to lay the table as they seemed more pushy on selling you drinks at 2.50 euro per small bottle of water at mealtimes.

Very basic. Ok for a night stay. It's not luxury at all. Pool area is nice. Beach was good too. Very rocky though. We only stayed a day- check out was at 12pm but our flight wasn't till 11pm. We asked reception if we could stay on and make use of the facility and will be allowed lunch as we were full board and didn't have lunch the day before. When we turned up for lunch we were turned away saying that we are no longer welcome to eat at the restaurant because we are not guests anymore! It was embarrassing! I only went because I was told it was okay by reception! We didn't want to stay a moment longer!
I wouldn't stay here again. Not very welcoming.

The hotel had lovely pools and was on a nice beach. The staff were lovely. The location was remote from anything else. The air conditioning didn't seem to cover the whole room.

The cleaning staff were brilliant. There were plenty of tennis courts, but the hotel is not on a golf course.

Wonderful hotel, amazing outdoor facilities, pools, football pitches, basketball, table tennis, mini golf, tennis club. Great buffet breakfast. Very suited to families, great fun. Just a shame the rooms are so dated.
I'm told the hotel has recently been bought by some exclusive hotel chain and the hotel will be refurbished. This is good news, however I hope they don't charge it too much, time will tell. Hotel will be closed for 6-9 months from Sept 2017 for refurb

Nice hotel but not best location apart from golf

The hotel has very pleasant bar, lounge, terrace area. Lots of free parking, indoor and outdoor pools and on the beach. However, the beach is black sand and not very inviting. The outdoor pool was closed when we went but then in February, this wasn't a big problem! Indoor pool open. Small fridge in room but no tea/coffee making facilities.
Only one restaurant open when we went (off season), buffet dinner. Reasonably priced and food was OK. Very good breakfast buffet.
Not a lot within walking distance (bars, restaurants etc). One supermarket. Definitely need a car but obviously a great base for a golfing holiday.

I was not German !!!

Hi, the hotel was fine however the staff (apart from the waitresses who greeted you with a smile) were rather 'stuffy' however did there job. The facilities were fine.

What I was concerned about was the way I was greeted in one of the restaurants, the La Torre. The other restaurant was very crowded so I decided to go to the other one, the La Torre. This was the same size restaurant with only 3 couples in and between 50 + tables. They are open to 9.30pm.

I went in at 8.45pm and was told I couldn't eat there because I wasn't GERMAN. I stormed out of there to reception who confirmed that was the case. I then said I thought all this rubbish went out years ago. I asked them if you have other facilities available banning women or blacks!!!

They subsequently wrote on a pass to let me in, I am now the only one in there. The chefs came out at 9.10pm to clear the food and I had not finished. 50% was clear and apart from a concerned waitress who very sorry, I advised her not to worry.

So if you are German it is an excellent hotel.

Misleading photos and service

The worst service I've ever seen at a hotel. The staff was always completely unhelpful and rude. At several points they could not even be a bothered to arrange a taxi for me, and said they were too busy. This is not the level of service one expects when they pay for a four star hotel. The manager of the hotel was always running around yelling, and the front desk was annoyed anytime anyone asked a question. Even, the waitresses at their restaurant were rude. This was the worst service I've ever seen in my life. The exterior of this hotel looks like a motel. And, the beach access they claim to have is literally rocks by the shore no one was able to swim as it was so rocky and dirty. This hotel is extremely misleading and I do not recommend it.

Terrible staff and outdated hotel

Bar staff at the pool is the worst. I waited for 15 minutes until they finally helped me. Everyone cuts in line and staff doesn't pay attention to who's there. Hotel was outdated but the pool area was nice. Asked for an iron and lady at reception told me they were all taken and she would call me back when they got one. Later on that night, I called another receptionist and he told me he would have one sent up. I went back to the room and waited 1 hour but it finally came. Joe was helpful.

Fabulous family facilities and lots of space

Great place to take the kids. Lots of outside space and grass to play football and other games. Huge pools, one for kids has gently sloping floor, football pitch, on the beach, playground and they had bouncy castles out once a week. Mini golf is playable but sadly in disrepair. Food good. Staff could be more attentive in the restaurant. Plenty of activities organised and activities staff make a huge effort. All round great family hotel 5-10 mins drive from Puerto banus

Excellent location on the beach but hotel getting old now and needs a major upgrade, the a/c in the room not working and the food in the bar awful pizza and frozen heat ups, the service in the bar was very slow so after one experience we ate out.
lorry reversing in car park at 5.45 am then loading noisy rubble owing to car park works 2 days running not acceptable

Disappointed Stay, in a Nice Hotel

The Hotel was very nice, situated in a good location and the hotel offered plenty amenities.
Dinner was available from 19.30 hrs, we went in at 20.30 hrs, perhaps if we had gone in at 19.30 hrs the food may have been hot, it certainly wasn't hot at 20.30 hrs, we left our first attempt and went back to get something else, but that was just as cold.
The bedrooms are very nice, but the bed (in room 210) was as hard as the floor and the pillows were virtually flat, so with no food, no sleep we may as well not have gone, we would not go back. pity its a nice place.

Hotel was located right on the beach, our room was modern and clean. The part of the hotel we stayed in was recently upgraded and was clean and modern (room 426) the balcony overlooked the pool and beach area. There was free WiFi throughout ( lobby, room, pool a d even beach). Breakfast was nice. Location is a little draw back, it's a good 10 to 15 min drive to estepona and Marbella alike. Car would be needed. Over all good experience

Great hotel / club to go to specially if you have kids. Huge swimming pools, large play yards for kids to play, and the entertainment team was beyond excellent!!!! They work very hard to make sure that you are always entertained wether it's during the day in the pool side or at night. There was a large variety of food at the restaurant, and the quality of food was excellent. The location of the hotel is very strategic, only 5 minutes from Puerto Banus!!!!
Some of the hotel areas have been innovated which is s lot better than the old side of the hotel. Overall, it was a great stay and we will definitely consider going there again.

Good all rounder with some exceptions

The hotel is certainly a good all rounder as a self sufficient resort and just about everything required for a leisure stay is located on site . There were parts of the resort which did not please as much. These included some worn carpets and furniture thus questioning the 4-star noted in the ad; the long march to the Tower Block which was just a little too far for us from the main block with all of the amenities however may well be OK for a younger couple; the food was excellent and wholesome but the menu was oriented towards the older north European taste thus if you are into Asian, Indian or Mexican or anything exotic, you may consider whats on offer as somewhat bland; there are no shops outside the resort within a reasonable walking distance so you will have to drive some 800 meters to get to a parade of shops. All else was just fine and we will not hesitate to return for another stay at this hotel.

1. Wifi didn't work, when I asked why they said because the hotel was busy.
2. Children's English TV channels didn't work even though I complained 3 times it wasn't fixed.
3. The hotel pool and beach was lovely.
4. No children's meals on the menu so had to ask for 2 plates and cut 1 large meal into 2.
5. The entrance to the hotel is small so coaches have to meet you 400m up the road for transfers.

Nice hotel hard to find!

This was our second stay at this hotel and while the main roads are excellent and modern the sign postings for the hotel were almost non-existent. When we eventually located the hotel it was at the end of a long private road.
We had requested a room with a sea view and a 3rd bed for our 16year old, and while the bed was provided the view from the room was over the hotel car park with any possible view blocked by trees.
The food was best for breakfast and dinner was OK. Not as good in terms of variety as on our previous visit.
Music provided at night although the only entertainment on Saturday night was the football games on large screen.
Had to use my phone and Internet to print our airline boarding passes and no facility for obtaining cash was close to the hotel.
Beach was not too packed and sunbeds available.
Would we go back? No, too far to find and hotel was as tired as we were.

I booked this hotel because of my budget just for 2 days because it is cheap price , it is a very big hotel , old but clean , old furniture but teddy, big swimming pool , a rocky beach ( not good) we went to Porto penous beach, a very good buffet ( a variety of food especially at the breakfast), I don't know why but I saw there a lot of old people.

Everything for families

We stayed for 3 nights and found the facilities, particularly pools and public rooms, excellent. The hotel needs redecoration in some areas and there is quite a distance between the accommodation and the restaurants and pools but I could not agree with those who mentioned poor service - the staff were excellent!
There are several recreation areas and two large restaurants with buffet service. The accommodation buildings are basic but there is plenty of room. There was a balcony, clothes line for bathing things, fridge, TV with some british stations, air conditioning, a safe and a bath!
Free parking and free wifi was available.
Most guests were half-board.

Great hotel for anyone.

The only thing i would say I would have liked a choice of more pillows, really should have asked as all staff were very accommodating and helpful.
Would definately return fior another visit.

i have known and used this hotel many times,but this was my first stay their.The hotel rooms are a little dated,but are clean,the service in the hotel is good and all staff very helpfull and friendly to all nationalities.Iwas their for a wedding which they carried out to perfection.

We had a very enjoyable stay for 2 nights before our destination and would choose to go again & stay for longer. The hotel is spacious, great value and has all the facilities, inside and out, one would expect. We booked bed & breakfast. The buffet breakfast was extensive, plentiful and of very good quality. Because we had travelled a long distance we decided to have the buffet dinner on our first night. It was so good and at €20 per head such good value we ate there again on our second night. The interior decor and outside areas are a little weary and in need of a renovation. Despite this, everything was very well maintained and should not be a reason to pass up the opportunity to stay there. We really enjoyed it and, at the value offered, were very pleasantly surprised.

Hotel at Estepona

The hotel is a little difficult to find but with good surronding. It is a good place for people who can afford to stay at the hotel for a few nights as there are a lot of country club facilites including a private beach. For overnight like us, it was a hassle to look for the hotle.

A good golf hotel

I was on a four day golf weekend,I do not play but the other fouteen people on the trip did.

The hotel is clean and tidy but does need a facelft and needs to be updated ! the pool areas were ok ,the offer of indoor and outdoor would cover most weather conditions ?

There is not much outside the complex that would not need a car or taxi for access !

The rating of the hotel would be a three star.

Disappoited, it is three stars hotel not four.

the hotel atalaya, it was far away from marbell and perto banus, need taxi and the hotel phone the taxi which they charged very expensive, the hotel is far away from the main road it is hard to walk 1 km.
the room is old, no tea or coffee facilities in the room, the tv is old, the towels are old, the beach towel are old too.
the reeption staff specially the ladies are not friendly and rude.
we did trip to giblalter, the bus did not come to the hotel we have to hire taxi cost 9 euros to the main road

Not a Four Star Hotel

Based on the nice and deceiving pictures on their website and incorrect reviews we decided to stay at this hotel. At the checking we paid extra per day to have a room with the sea view. After checking into the room the room was very old, the Air Conditioned smelled very bad, the bed and furniture was very old and it was not even close to what it was shown on the website, the TV belonged to 18 century and the carpet was dirty. We notified the front desk and they claimed they fixed the air condition; however it got better and the smell will come and go throughout our stay. They gave us the option to move back to our original reservation which it was in another building with over looking the parking lot. They charged for everything even though it was an all inclusive. The ask us to leave $10 Euro for each towel used around the pool and we received the towels they so old that long threads were hanging from them. The guys keep telling us that they will not return our deposit if we loose the towels. For using safety box in the room we also had pay to get a key for it. Overall experience was trouble and the only got thing about it was the buffet breakfast and dinner. I could not believe that the hotel was a four star hotel. If they would have refunded our money we would have leave on the first day and stayed in another hotel.

Absolutely Wonderful Hotel!

This is a wonderful hotel.....just make sure you go there by taxi and not by bus like we did! We have to walk forever from the bus stop. We actually only used the hotel to eat and sleep but we did walk around a bit. It is sitting on the ocean so that makes it really nice and you dine outside (if you wish) overlooking the ocean. The grounds are well kept and very beautiful. They even have a cactus garden on the rooftop.

As vegetarians, the chef had to make us a meal and it was very good. Otherwise, we were able to get enough from what they had there. We spent most of our time sightseeing so we were gone all day after breakfast. However, if you are going there just to relax, there is the pool, etc. to keep you busy.

All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. Oh and the people in Customer Service were wonderful. Even though we had the language barrier, it all worked out well.

I cannot forget to mention that if you need the BEST tax driver in all of Spain, look for Miguel.....he is normally in the taxi stand in front of the hotel. He is superb.

Right on the beach!

The hotel may have seen better days but was, nevertheless, comfortable with friendly staff. Caters to large groups so the food was adequate but not luxurious. We only stayed one night before embarking on a cruise from Malaga - so it was fine, but I wouldn't want to have a longer stay there.

Clean and sufficient, but wouldn't recommend it

There is nothing wrong with this hotel. It is clean; the staff is friendly; the rooms and bathrooms were large and functioned well. However, I wouldn't recommend it. With the exception of the lovely large couches in the Reception area, the entire hotel needs a redecoration face-lift. It is definitely targeted for large, tour groups coming through. The food in the buffet dining room was typical buffet food - deep fried and held on warming trays until soggy. But, again, service was great and friendly. Grandma and Great Aunt Betty would probably love it.

Atalaya Park Resort, near Estapona

Whilst this large resort has a somewhat faded glory to it (the gardens for example appear past their best) it is very comfortable and we received excellent service. During our stay there was a general strike in Spain which meant most of the hotel staff were not at work for one day. Given the size of the place and the vast number of guests this could have been a disaster, but the owners and their friends and family rallied brilliantly and as a result we experienced no inconvenience at all. The lounge and bar are really relaxing. The vast buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner is somewhat daunting, but the food was very fresh and well cooked.

Good facilities for kids

A large resort hotel, good facilitiies for families and golfers, but needs a bit of invetment - externally it is a bit tatty and tired. The pool area needs cleaning. Food is very good although vegetarian options are limited. Cari essential as it is way out of town, although this means it is very quiet . Excellent value for money on a Half board basis for a family.

A decent family hotel

A large hotel nearer to San Pedro De Alcantara. It has two swimming pools, the large one was full of family with young kids so i recommend the smaller one for couples who wish to have some peace, at least they offer an option which other hotels dont have. The hotel is large with lots of facilities and services although it is a bit outdated. The buffet was good and they offer great entertainment especially for young kids. It is a family hotel basically and is ok for a short stay, as already mentioned in other guest reviews it needs renovating.

straight out the 70's

Stayed 2 nights in August 2011, we are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) we requested a non smoking room but got a smoking room which stunk of stale tobacco. Room was straight out of the 70's and hasn't been undated for decades, most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on (i suspect it may have been a old plank of wood), room wasn't clean, floors were dirty and under the bed hadn't seen a vacume for years, broken glass (think from a beer bottle) on the balcony, luckily I spotted it before the kids went out there barefoot. Be prepared to play the towel game in the morning is you want a sun lounger (although at any given time in the day only 20% of the beds are actually being used)! The free WIFI was only availalable in reception or by the entertainment bar. Beach could be lovely and I didn't mind the peddles, as they are actually a natural product! but the cigarette butts, plastic cups and general rubbish made for a grotty beach. On a positive note the food was very good. Overall, a very tired, old, worn out hotel in deperate need of modernizing. I can not fathom how this can be a 4* hotel. The only plus point? - I only booked 2 nights, 2 weeks and I would have been distraught!

good value

just back. enjoyed the hotel. we were a couple who joined up with a family for last four days of our holiday. our nieces had a ball and met many friends. pool and out door facilities were good and beach right beside you. hotel was a wee bit dated but was clean and food (buffet ) was good. you would need a car . would stay again. entertainment at night is for kids but is good crack.

Great for Families

We were 2 groups totalling 8 with 4 kids ranging from 3yrs to 14yrs old and the hotel was super for the kids. Lots of entertainment and activities for them and the facilities were great! Food was very nice as we had a reasonable choice = good value for money!

Call for Directions First

The hotels is very nice as is the staff but impossible to find. It's best to call ahead once you are on the road between Marbella and Algeciras. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time in a frustrating search.

Didn't try the golf, but there were lots of golfers there so I assume the hotel will arrange teetimes for you.

Not impressed at all

The hotel itself was okay. Pools were good, room was clean and staff were friendly. Food was boring. Great for 2 days with plenty of fish, but 6 days of same food, 3 meals a day would force anyone into a diet.

The beach was really bad. It was not kept clean and too stony. Not a sandy beach at all. Should not really call themselves a \"beach hotel\". We could not swim in the sea and nobody was swimming at sea in fact. We just picked some shells and pretty stones.

We already knew that the hotel was remote and close to nothing. However, there was no excursions available at all. They advertised some organised sightseeings, which were extremely expensive. And when we called them up, we could not book anything. They said the hotel was too far away. We offered to go nearer to them via taxi, but somehow they did not want to run any exucrsions. Was a torture for my husband who is not so keen on water at all.

Overall, kids enjoyed it. Probably 7 out of 10 for them. For me and my husband - never again. Perhaps would consider a better located and better net-worked hotel in Malaga, with properly sandy beach.
