We loved loved loved this place. Very close to everything downtown, the roof top got tubs were amazing and the mountain views were incredible. We got a room on the 2nd floor of the property and the room was very clean and the hotel itself had a charming vibe. The ROAM bus stop right in front of the hotel was a big plus. I would stay here in a heartbeat when I next visit banff

This place is max 3-star. Location is good... but hotel looks dated inside. Our room was very small and dark so requested upgrade which was expensive but worth it as we got some living space with bedroom.
Furniture and carpet looked old but ok to stay. Average 3-star by US standards. Banff it was little premium due to location.

However, there are things that take away a star, if not 2.
1. The quality of room cleaning service was not great. I found my PJ that I left on the bed being thrown on the sofa. Very strange.
2. The garbage bin in the bathroom was left on the toilet cover. Were they in such a hurry? After seeing all these, we declined for future room cleaning services. Not impressed.
3. This is an interior designer issue. The show door can only be opened around 45 degrees as it is hitting the huge shower head. I hit it every time I opened the shower door no matter how careful I was.
4. The restaurant in the hotel is expensive and nothing special about it. There is a grill in the restaurant for grilling breads and it is a joke. I left my piece of bread there for 5 minutes and it could only warm it up but not more than that.
For price of $550+ per night (we stay for 4 nights), it does not feel right.
I am not sure if this is a pro or con. Our room door opens directly to the outside so we needed to get dressed well just to access the lobby.

Hotel was very clean and nice , room was small but nice and clean and more than enough since we were out all day and were just there to sleep. Comfortable beds and good shower. Roof tops hot tubs were wonderful with beautiful views. The only complaint is that we went to lobby restaurant for breakfast and asked for a table for two, but were told by the hostess that they wouldn’t seat us without a reservation - even though there were about 15 empty tables. We found Farm & Fire restaurant two doors down the street and they had a great breakfast and friendly service. Highly suggest everyone go there instead .

I had left my jewelry case in the room on departure which had thousands of dollars worth of jewelry in it.

The hot tub is away a great. But the shower wasn’t working and the floor of the jacuzzi had sand on it ! And in the summer I would appreciate if the we have one of the hot tube colder then we can enjoy more. Hotel , service, cleaning in general was great! Coffee machine in the room wasn’t working.

The hotel has an excellent location right in the center of Banff town, which makes it very convenient to access everything. It also provides a complimentary 3-day bus pass, allowing guests to easily travel to all major attractions. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel entrance, which is extremely convenient.

The rooms are nice but outdated. It’s hard to sleep with all the noise and lights and the beds are not super comfortable. The staff is absolutely incredible. Anything you need they can help you with anything very sweet. I never saw breakfast and I don’t believe it was included. Hot tub is nice but overrun with people.

The hot tubs were excellent. Not as overcrowded or overrun with kids nor were there any poorly behaved young adults as per my experiences at other hotels. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the water pressure in the shower was far less than what either of us expected. However, the low water pressure in the shower would not stop us from staying at the Moose again in the future.

Hard to stay anywhere else in the future…The Moose was a new experience for me and I loved the stay. From the staff to the cleanliness of the hotel, the spa, roof top hot tubs with amazing views, to the Pacini restaurant. Everything was exceptional. The underground parking was easy to access, bright, and clean.

This is a solid B. For it to be an A, staff need to be more attentive, the place needs better maintenance (particularly the rooftop hot tub area), and the noise level is a concern (the walls shake periodically and there is street noise). It's a solid B because the location is great, the place is cozy and has loads of potential and the parking is hassle-free. I'm not sure if I'd stay again; there are lots of options in the area, so I would search for the A option. Overall, good, not excellent.

Overall 3.5/5. There were some nice touches, but the experience was brought down by poor housekeeping and a few details you would not expect at this price point.
We were upgraded thanks to my Expedia VIP status and received a cute anniversary card, which was thoughtful. Reception staff were friendly, and room service was good.
Housekeeping was the main issue. On the first night, “fresh” towels had black makeup stains. The next day, after ordering room service, we returned in the evening to find the tray and dirty dishes still in the room and had to move them ourselves. Another day, we removed the Do Not Disturb sign around 11 a.m., but came back at 6 p.m. to an uncleaned room with a note saying it was skipped due to DND, which was not on the door when we left.
Reception sent someone to refresh the room, but it was minimal. No proper cleaning, no new mugs or coffee, no toilet paper, and they even left dirty cleaning gloves on the kitchen counter. We had to call again for basic items.
The in room coffee was very weak and tasted like water. We ordered coffee from the restaurant every day instead.
The room was also a bit noisy from upstairs, and the sheets felt itchy and low quality.
Underground parking and rooftop hot tubs were great, but for $350+ per night, it felt overpriced. We raised concerns with reception and no compensation was offered.
We were upgraded thanks to my Expedia VIP status and received a cute anniversary card, which was thoughtful. Reception staff were friendly, and room service was good.
Housekeeping was the main issue. On the first night, “fresh” towels had black makeup stains. The next day, after ordering room service, we returned in the evening to find the tray and dirty dishes still in the room and had to move them ourselves. Another day, we removed the Do Not Disturb sign around 11 a.m., but came back at 6 p.m. to an uncleaned room with a note saying it was skipped due to DND, which was not on the door when we left.
Reception sent someone to refresh the room, but it was minimal. No proper cleaning, no new mugs or coffee, no toilet paper, and they even left dirty cleaning gloves on the kitchen counter. We had to call again for basic items.
The in room coffee was very weak and tasted like water. We ordered coffee from the restaurant every day instead.
The room was also a bit noisy from upstairs, and the sheets felt itchy and low quality.

Very clean room with a patio and refrigerator. The staff were very friendly. It’s a modern hotel with a beautiful fireplace and lounge area. The hot tubs are spacious and get plenty of afternoon sun, with stunning mountain views. Free underground parking is a great bonus. I also noticed ski lockers and a workbench in the garage for servicing skis. The hotel is conveniently located one block from the free ski shuttles, downtown shops and restaurants, and a supermarket. My only complaint was the in-room coffee—it was bland and tasteless. A hotel of this quality should offer Nespresso or something similar.
