This is mine & my husbands 2nd time here ! We absolutely love Luna palace, it’s in a perfect location with many great places to eat In walking distance & stores close for your convenience. The pool & beach are spectacular. We are definitely the youngest ones here when we come (35) but love how calm & quiet it is & have made many friends while we have stayed. Rooms are always clean & everyone is so friendly.
We will definitely be back in the near future to enjoy another vacation in beautiful Mazatlan.

Room and resort was spotless, staff were courteous. We had an electrical issue and the blender wasn’t working, the front desk staff attended to us immediately, fixed it and provided us with a new blender.
The only issue we had were people putting towels on beds early for the day with very few people using them. They were even securing beds on the beach as well as by the pool. Why?! They can only occupy one bed at a time!!
Fortunately we were able to get beds at the beach every day.

We loved staying at Luna Palace. We were there for the month of January and loved everything about it . The staff were great and the front desk spoke very good English . The air conditioning worked perfectly . They were very quick to any small problem that came up and as one time our stove quit working and they were there in 10 minutes to fix it. The room cleaning is excellent It's a small resort and we liked that the pool music was not loud or aggravating. There are no daily night shows which we like I was there to relax and spend time on the beach. Walking south you can walk for miles when the tide is down. We didn't eat at the resort this year. We cooked our own meals and I think all rooms have a kitchenette which was adequate for what we wanted. There is a Walmart that has everything a short taxi ride away. Its a popular place for families with small children .Thank you Luna Palace for an excellent stay!!

Overall, this was a great resort to stay at, but there were some things that weren't great too. It was small, which I liked, with 80 rooms total, 10 on each floor. I asked to be close to the pool because I just got out of hospital and was basically on bedrest, and the hotel accomodated me.
The pool is gorgeous, and was never busy, the area around the pool and on the beach was the same - there were always tons of loungers free.
However, Expedia said there was room service, and there was not. I believe the posting also said there was a coffee shop or more places to eat. There is only one restaurant and one pool bar.
I had a kitchenette, and there were pots and a pan, but no utensils for them. Only forks, knifes, and spoons. There were dishes as well, but no dish soap or cloths, so I had to order those with an Uber Eats grocery order. That was really annoying. There were no free water bottles, other than the two in the room.
And the shower was always cold.
But the room was mostly clean, a few food smears on cupboards in the kitchen and other places it wasn't cleaned super well.
The restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch - you had to walk over to their sister hotel for dinner, and I couldn't walk that far. Also, the lunch menu was very limited and not super healthy. There were hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, chicken fingers, and I think steamed salmon. So I ordered from Uber Eats a lot. Overall, I enjoyed it, but would try somewhere else next time.

Angelica the concierge from all the palace hotels was really awesome and helpfull. All dinner reservation went really smooth . We had a birthday in our family trip and she helped us with informations where we can get cake and decorate the room . I would go there again . Loved the place ❤️

The hotel is in a great location near very good restaurants. We liked the views. The hotel was good but showing its age.
There are a couple of things that they can improve on...
- we got 4 small bottles of water to drink when we got there. After a day and bottles not replaced they said we had to ask for replacing and had to go get them. Hmm...no thanks. We got water at the Oxo.
- At the end of stay we had to wait for someone to go and check the room and they expected to cut the bracelet that we had to wear during the stay. These are fine but they could send you a message before your last day telling you all the details to be able to checkout. They could even use Whatsapp which they say we could use but when i did with questions about the water there was no response.

We really did enjoy the property and the staff were all awesome. The beach is perfect with soft sand and miles of walking to the south. Breakfast and lunch was good but limited with the options.
We felt, and we often travel to Puerto Vallarta, that the safety of the city, not the property, was a little iffy. Federally police frequently patrolled the area. One late night during our stay I heard 2 gun shots followed by numerous police racing down the street in the direction of the sounds.
We really did like our stay but I don’t know if we will return until we hear better reports about the safety of Mazatlán.

The hotel is relatively new and well-located, but the rooms require some improvement. Upon arrival, there was a moldy odor, the amenities could be enhanced. For instance, the breakfast menu at the hotel restaurant was repetitive, and we eventually discovered we could dine at the Oceano Palace. Knowing this beforehand, I might have chosen a different hotel. Furthermore, the advertised activities were only available at a different location. Why offer reservations at one location, yet require guests to travel elsewhere for meals and activities? In my opinion, the housekeeping staff could benefit from additional training—I have experience in the hospitality industry myself. The bathroom mirror remained unclean throughout our stay, despite multiple housekeeping visits. The amenities were lacking; for example, while coffee makers were provided, coffee was not. Guests must purchase coffee downstairs or by calling room service. I will likely stay at the Oceano Palace next time.

A lot of the stay was good. Front desk staff was amazing, the entertainment guy was amazing and the bartending staff was amazing.

The issue with this resort was the security staff, particularly the heavy set security guard with the penguin walk. The entire time he was on his shifts, he would hover around our extended family (3 families) and watch everything like a hawk. If my wife's parents who live in Maz came to visit, he would be there in an instant to escort them off the premises even though they weren't using the facilities. They would be coming to link up with their 3 daughters families to go out and experience Maz. He also watched our shuttle leave on the last day and then as soon as it left made sure to escort them off the property.

He also got very upset and my niece who accidentally took her wrist band off because she is a child. He had to escort her to the front counter at an instant making her feel uncomfortable.

I will be returning to Maz to visit my family but will not be staying at the Luna Palace or any Palace hotels because of this. What should have been a relaxing week was hampered by the security guard who wouldnt leave our family to enjoy the hotel pool.

We have stayed at the Luna Palace numerous times the past years on an annual family vacation. This year, we definitely seen improvement with happier staff and an amazing breakfast on site included in our daily rate. Our view was incredible as per usual. Only major hiccup, is our room had mild luke warm water only the entire stay. When bringing to their attention, as Gold Members, they offered a couple other rooms to try: the water temperature was no improvement when testing. It would be a positive direction for Luna to look into improving to a “On Demand “ or new hot water system in the facility. Another strange policy we have found is the Luna charges 60 pesos when leaving if you don’t do the dishes. Yet, we leave a daily Tip for the maids, could this not be part of the task routine? Interesting there is no dish soap, dish towel to wash dishes so wonder how the cleanliness of the complete kitchen supplies are…. Is everyone just washing with cold water? This is what we had to do. If this policy could be revisited that would be a stronger push for guests to stay at the facility ….. after all, the rates have exceeded the last years staying at this location.

We come to Mazatlan every year with a group of friends. There is a choice of three different rooms, we book the one bedroom suite. They all have a good size fridge, microwave and two burner stove if you want to cook some meals. Staff are friendly and the front desk team speaks good English. Nice pool and beach. Great access to the rest of Mazatlan by pulmoñia or bus.

My wife and I stayed at Luna Palace for two weeks and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very nice, quiet, the staff is friendly and helpful and they work tirelessly to keep the property spotless. The kitchen in our suite was functional but a bit light on utensils/specialty items (a minor quibble) so bear that in mind if you have specific culinary items you depend on. We liked the property location which was close to many shopping and dining options, and close enough to make the Golden Zone accessible without being 'in the thick of it.'
The pool area was very nice and they had daily music and activities that made relaxing by the pool fun and entertaining. The staff were all great and a special Thank You to Nelly at the front desk who went out of her way to assist us and was very helpful.

This was our fifth trip to Mazatlan but first near the Golden Zone (previously stayed in the Marina Area) and we really liked the more central location, walkability and overall 'vibe' of this property. You really felt like you were in a little hidden tropical paradise, and we will definitely be returning to this property. Highly recommended and a big Thank You again to all the great Luna Palace staff.

Smaller property with nice pool and beach access. Access to the property for people staying at sister resorts nearby made it a bit busier poolside at times but was was likely due to Mardi Gras approaching toward the end of our stay. Did not do all inclusive as there are plenty of great dining options around. Some that did all inclusive said they had trouble getting service but the staff seemed attentive to us. Might be worth doing a breakfast plan if available as it looked pretty good. Nice to have a kitchenette with full size fridge, stove and microwave/oven combo and coffee maker. Did the smaller suite but would do the one bedroom due to the larger patio and separate bedroom but for as much time we were in the room the studio was fine. Mostly mature guests so quiet for the most part. Some families visiting from other sister resorts had kids but staff made sure they were supervised and not horsing around. Beach area is a fair size and well kept. The Star and Océano Palace resorts had more action and noise with bands. Easy ride (100 pesos) to the heart of golden zone and other areas with pulmonías or truck cabs. 250 ish to city centre. Most rooms have an ocean view and even the pool view included some ocean exposure. Would stay here again but some guest were saying they are going to renovate or expand into tours. Not sure but with the number of locals who were touring for timeshare or purchase didn’t make sense. Would definitely stay again if available!

Compared to the sister hotels in the area, this one was quiet and allowed for some relaxing down time. Pool was never busy, umbrellas always available. Loved the location, easy to walk to many restaurants, which were all good. Lunch at the bar was excellent - best shrimp cocktail I've had! Staff was friendly, were very helpful, even with the language barrier. Their English was better than our Spanish! Beautiful pool area, beach is right in front of you, so very convenient. Rooms were spacious (1 bdrm suite). Could have used drying towel for dishes, faceclothes in the bathroom area, more comfortable chairs. But these are just minor - stay was very comfortable and loved the whole area. Would recommend a stay here when in Mazatlan. Thank you for everything.

Luna Palace - Tranquil and Relaxing!

Spent two weeks at Luna Palace. We had a room right on the beach. Wrap around balcony. Super clean accommodations. Close to numerous restaurants and convenience stores. All the staff very gracious and helpful. Paola, at the front desk, upgraded our 2nd week. The greeter, Jesus, has been there for almost 25 years. Can't wait to go back!

I love the pool, access to the beach and overall location.

The hotel room should have been cleaner. The dished were dirty, the shower had mold, the paint and walls looked messy. Overall, management needs to invest in deep cleaning restoring paint.

The bed sheets were clean and hotel service was kind and made everything tidy.

This property was being renovated during our stay. I was lucky enough to get one of the recently renovated rooms. The workers started promptly at 7:00 a.m. and quit at 6:00 p.m. Being an early riser, this was not an issue for me. The workers were very respectful and there were no issues in that regard. The housekeeping staff and the front desk/bell hop were all capable and pleasant. My only criticism would be of the restaurant/bar service, especially in the afternoons. This has always been an issue at this hotel. Overall this stay was a good one.

Stayed from 5/30-6/4//22 with my family of 4- it was absolutely beautiful. Check in staff was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Ivan & Frank from the bar provided exceptional poolside service. Dinners prepared by the chef, Julio, were amazingly flavorful- especially his chile de arbol salsa. The breakfast buffet was delicious with plenty of options to choose from. Our server, Nein went out his way to provide excellent, friendly service. Housekeeping was friendly and thorough, gatekeepers kept the hotel grounds safe & secure. I will definitely be returning to Mazatlán and staying at the Luna Palace.

I had booked the Luna Palace hotel several months before my vacation in June. When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk told me that the Oceano Palace had my booking, that the Luna Palace did not. If you stay at the Oceano, beware, it’s like a Spring Break party hotel. The Oceano desperately needs remodeling is a kind way of putting it. At this time I’ve contacted Hotels.com and made a claim. They e mailed me back and said that they could not contact the hotel and closed my claim. BEWARE MAKING RESERVATIONS HERE.

The property is run down and not maintained. We stayed one night and left to stay at a hotel close by that was less money and much better.
