Very roomy, friendly staffs, clean. Just 5-min from the monkey forest is just great! Foods/restaurants around the hotel are great too (Simond Boulangerie is surprisingly good, the croissants and baguettes remind me so much of Paris). Breakfast buffet is ok, I prefer to have more local/traditional foods than western-based (sausage, bacon, eggs, etc.). The only gripe I had was the TV was old, can't screen mirroring to my phone. All channels are grainy and lo-def. Overall, I'm happy with the stay, would return if I'm back to Ubud.

This is a beautiful, quiet spot, and if you enjoy swimming like I do, the pool areas are truly tranquil—one for relaxing, one for swimming, and another for resting.

The rooms are air-conditioned, modern, clean, and well-appointed with very comfortable beds and
Unfortunately, there is a very long walk up slopes and stairs to the rooms, with no lift available. If it's raining, you will get soaked, and this is also a hazard. I would not recommend it to more mature travellers or anyone with mobility issues.

The other disappointment was the food; there wasn't much variety, and it wasn't as fresh as the food at the other two venues we stayed at or at different food outlets. No herbal teas and no fresh coffee; only very low-quality, I couldn't drink it.

average stay - I booked a 2 bedroom villa and realised that its far from the main property although they had golf carts running between the property and villa. But it was a bit of an inconvenience to wait for one. The villa is also very close to the monkey forest/same wall - so we were recommended to keep doors shut and not eat outside at all. This is not my idea of being at the villa. The small plunge pool was also not cleaned at all so we never used it. There were open ceiling areas both the showers in the villa from where we saw lizards and bugs some in all the time. This made us very uncomfortable and we were not sure if these were going in our luggage etc so we constantly took extra care with open snacks /luggage or anything else. I have kids who were terrified to go to the bathroom at night b y themselves so it made the stay terrible. The breakfast was very average and also at times had flies and bugs on it. The common areas like reception and toilets around the areas also had lizards lurking around. So all in all, I won't visit again knowing about these shortcomings

Beautiful villa and resort. Staff very accommodating as we only eat vegan and gf meals. Only issue we had was the hot water - most nights the water was cold but usually thats okay as the nights are warm, however some nights were a bit cooler and had to wait over 1hr to get some hot water.

The two bedroom villa is actually not in the main resort area, it is located 300 meters away next to the monkey forest... although the resort does provide a golf cart to transfer if needed... I still think it is not very convenient..

Other than that, location is good, in the centre of ubud, close to attractions. dining options are good too around the area. staff is very helpful.

The property was convenient to walk to a lot of places - especially to the monkey forest and the kids loved having all the monkeys right nearby. You could walk into town but it would have been good to have the option of a shuttle bus more than once a day if you didn't choose to walk (although with the traffic it was often quicker to walk).
The villa we stayed as pretty old and didn't have great facilities. It was then a 5 min walk to get to the main pool at the hotel and walk up for breakfast which wasn't ideal. I think the villas need modernising/freshening up.

Great location and great sized property. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The villas are a 5 minute walk from the main hotel, but it's a nice walk and the separation gives a little more peace and quiet from the main street. Lots of dining options in the area as well as some shopping. Right on the edge of the monkey forest, 10 minute walk to the main entrance.
We even walked to Ubud Market and temple, only 20-30 minutes but plenty to see on the way!

The place is dated - photos do not correspondent to current rooms, although somewhat near Ubud attractions, location is inconvenient to walk as you have to go through a very narrow shortcut in the monkey forest used by motorbikes. Speaking about monkeys, our room got invaded and “sacked” by a monkey as I briefly left the balcony door open. Apparently this happens very frequently due to the proximity of the forest. We moved to a different hotel (Plataran Ubud) for nearly the same rate and was able to savage our trip.

The good thing of the villa is of its location. 15seconds walk to the monkey forest and 12 minutes walk to the ubud cbd.
However, we hope the shuttle bus service can be more frequent.
Room is okay but it is not the kind that you will stay to chill for the entire day so fit tourist who plan to go out sightseeing everyday, breakfast buffet is nice.

The resort is nice as there are lots of beautiful plants . 3 pools but lack of sun-beds for guests with garden-view rooms and there is barely any shade and unfortunately no parasols; resort is in quiet area and close to (noisy) Ubud center and shuttle is provided several times a day. Staff was very nice and brought us hot tea and a cheese, tomato and egg sandwich while we checked in which was very nice since it was so late (1 am). We were shown to our room and given all the onfo we needed. The grounds are cool with shrubbery everywhere. You hear roosters roostering (crowing) in the mornings. Butttt the hotel is old and needs to be updated. The sheets are like sandpaper, they do not provide ahower gel (just soap in a dirty dispenser on the counter). We never figured out how to tuen off the patio light and they only had one 110 plug in the room so we had to ask the hotel staff for once which they promptly brought to us. We electricity loss 3 times while there but only for a few seconds. The towels were dingy and the sheet weren't changed the entire 6 days we were there. Breakfast at first look is nice but only if you go at certain times will you not be frustrated. They have butter in a big mason jar which is hard to get out (instead of butter packets which makes more sense.) There is no coffee creamer, only milk. If you go when it's too busy, the egg lady can't get your eggs right. I had to have her redo them twice. There were no plates or saucers and ran out of fruit constantly so you were aiting around a lot. Also, and this is thr worst part, they only cover the fruit and main dishes so flies are on the bread, rolls, muffins, etc. making them inedible for me because gross.

Would stay again. Staff friendly & helpful. Great location just outside Ubud, much quieter but still walking distance to plenty of restaurants, massages, laundry, etc. Good breakfast.
We stayed in villas, 3-4 min walk from main resort, near the back entrance to monkey forest, very quiet & private. Hotel provides buggy between main resort & villas on request.
Can have breakfast in room or walk to main resort breakfast. Has room service. You can't eat outside because of monkeys and there is not a good place to eat in room.
Villa had two very spacious rooms, with a bathrooms off each room. Main bathroom large with large bath. Very basic outdoor \"kitchen\" with sink and kettle. No living or dining area.
You enter villa into 1st bedroom & go through to main bedroom. You have to go through main bedroom or bathroom to get to outside area. Seems 1st room was originally living area for 1 bedroom villa converted to 2nd bedroom. Worked well for our family, we just locked the door when using the bathroom.
Watch out for monkeys, don't leave anything outside, don't leave doors open & don't eat outside as quite aggressive if you have food. As long as you don't have food they are harmless. 24 hour guard at front of villas will help with monkeys if needed.
The short cut walking path to Ubud was under maintenance during our stay so 10 - 15 min taxi/shuttle to town. Hotel has free shuttle but limited times. Taxi 80,000 IDR or the resort will take for 90,000 IDR.
Overall good value for money.

Our first time to Bali, advised to spent time in Ubud. We chose Ubud Wana Resort because of the consistent good reviews..
We were not disappointed: 4* resort with a 5* heart and service.
Staff are warm, friendly and ultra helpful. The breakfast buffet had nice mixture of local and western dishes, with fresh fruit and yogurt. Dinners were nice. Balinese BBQ was an enjoyable experience with a generous variety of BBQ.
We stayed at one of their 3 villas: a 5minute buggy ride near the Monkey Forest. The 2 bedroom villa is spacious, private, nice clean private pool and small sit out area with loungers. It was lovely that there was night security for just these 3 villas.Nice security officers.
The resort is deceptive and extends well beyond the reception area....with 3 swimming pools and spa. It was fully booked, so missed out on a massage. Rooms look well decorated, and good amenities. Highly recommend to all...amazing staff.All were exceptional, but special mention to Gustu, Lan Yan and Subhagia at reception, Dikdik and Uwastawa who manages the dining room.> Thank you for a lovely stay.j.

My daughter and I enjoyed everything about The Ubud Wana on our 6 day stay. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly from the desk staff right down to the gardeners-just lovely. The breakfast had plenty of choices with eggs cooked to your liking. The room was great with comfy beds, clean and lovely gardens outside. The pools were clean and gardens just beautiful. The room was clean with comfortable bed.
We were given a fruit platter when we arrived and each day the room was made up and we were provided water.
We had breakfast at the hotel and there was a good mix of Indonesian and European options. Plenty of coffee with attentive restaurant team. The day we went up Mount Batur (leaving at 2.30am) they made us boxed breakfasts to take away and enjoy. We had dinner a few nights at the hotel and enjoyed the varied menu.
We tried the spa and had both a Balinese massage and couple therapy both very relaxing.
The setting is good spent some time resting at the hotel and other days walked into town. This included walking past the monkey forest which meant you had to be careful what you carried due to the monkeys.
The hotel also had a shuttle which we used a couple of times. When we ate in town in the evening we could have used their shuttle home but generally came back by taxi (avoiding the forest at night)

We enjoyed four nights here at this very peaceful resort on a very quaint street in Ubud away from the hustle and bustle and crazy traffic. Staff were really friendly and greeted us always. Breakfast spread was satisfatory. I also noticed them airing the empty rooms everyday while I was there and the whole place was really clean. We were impressed and very happy with the accommodation. As for Wifi, there were slow periods but we had our Telkomsel SIM card from the airport so no major issues there. We highly recommend the place - we will definitely come back here the next time we visit Bali!

The hotel was fantastic! The staff was so kind and helpful. Their English was all excellent. The free breakfast was great, a big spread with omelette bar, pastries and hot dishes. Our room had a beautiful jungle view. The pools were clean and there wasn’t anyone ever in them. We used the spa twice and loved the four hands massage!! The room service was a little pricey but that is to be expected. The location was a the best part. It’s on a quiet, manicured street with a handful of local restaurants for easy access for dinner and drinks. It’s so close to the monkey forest, too. We’d stay there again if we ever make it back!

Only thing I would change would be the shuttle service to town,last bus to town should be 7 or 8 in evening and last one return at least 1030-1100 pm.

Perfect place for a quiet and relaxing stay.

Beautiful place, nice staff and quiet area (which is what we wanted instead of the busier town centre). Really close to the monkey forest and a small path (with a lot of motorcycles during the day) that cuts the walk into the town centre down to about 15 minutes instead of about half an hour.

Only blemish is that the drinks in our room were not free. We thought they were included (we had the honeymoon suite and even gave us a cake) , there was no price list and check in staff didn't mention anything.

Beautiful hotel and pool. Very friendly staff, also packed us breakfast when we needed to leave early. We got upgraded to a pool room which was beautiful - pool directly accessible from our patio. Bathroom was large with a beautiful shower. Nice location - located near a forest. Mostly mosquito free because they fumigate it once a week. Short walk or taxi to ubud. Shortcut next to the monkey forest. Prices in restaurant a little higher than in ubud, but decent food.

Hotel staff carried very little professionalism. Cleanliness in room was not the greatest.
At times I felt like i bothered the waitress during breakfast when I wanted something.
Also, each morning pushing chairs and tables for evening dinner when the guest is still having breakfast — so annoying and one feels rushed to leave as it was noisy and not relaxing at all.
For days I had some animal dropping on my patio which should have been cleaned the same day but wasn't.

Private Villa with a difference- monkey visits

Fantastic location right next door to Monkey forest, we had monkey’s visiting us in the villa with the private pool. We all loved the fact that we we’re surrounded by nature and close to the markets and main Ubud shopping area. We had to get the hotel buggie to bring us to and from breakfast, but the kids loved this experience. Would definitely go there again.

Reasonably priced hotel for excellent service

Staff is friendly and accommodating. Shuttle bus service is punctual. Food selection is average but sufficient. There are a lot of good food places to eat anyway. Convenience stores, bike rental places etc are nearby. I requested for an early check-in at 12pm but by 10ish, my room was already ready. Room was in good condition. Very comfortable. There were a few noises at night but nothing more.

Really nice hotel in peaceful surroundings

The hotel is nice, the room was comfy and clean, the hotel is set in a beautiful little village and is very peaceful.The breakfast is terrible, the juices were okay, the yoghurt was avoided on the 6 day stay, the croissants and danish bakery was something out of a cheap supermarket. The tea was weak and had to get the staff to get extra teabags put in the tea pot. The staff were really good and very helpful. There are 3 pools and the hotel is about 500 metres from the monkey forest. Apart from the breakfast, the hotel is in the perfect peaceful setting. There are lots of little lovely local cafes and shops on the doorstep of the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay in Ubud wana resort

Great hotel. Breakfast is very varied with local and western choices. Staff cannot be more pleasant. The location is great if you want quiet and experience a real bali neighborhood. Close walk to city center. Good spacious restaurants with traditional feeling nearby. Highly recommend.

Hidden costs and a lack of communication

There was not enough communication from the host's side prior to the stay to discuss the check in arrangements due to which we had a tiring unpleasant start to the stay, after a long flight. Although we were stood outside the apartment, the host did not come to get us until half an hour after our check-in time for which we were wondering what to do on the main roads standing with suitcases as no instructions had been given. The apartment is two-stories up, so we had to carry our suitcases up the narrow stairs, but then there was a lift further up to get to the apartment for which I was relieved. There is quite a long and confusing walk from the main entrance on the road to the actual apartment, and the host had not given enough directions on how to exit the properly, which also resulted in a harrowing experience with the suitcases. The other thing that was unpleasant was the $SD 60 cleaning fee which was not mentioned in the cost at the time of the booking but we had to pay on the spot. Apart from all this, the apartment was cosy, fully furnished and had good views. The bathroom and the kitchen were stocked with amenities for our use, e.g. soap, bowls, plates, pans.

Lovely resort, fantastic breakfasts, very quiet, close to everything. Exceptional staff and special mention to Niko, Eni and Tini. The omelet chef made the best eggs too. I miss Ubud already

Close to monkeys

We stayed in a two room villa with pool. Room and facilities were really nice and spacious and quiet. Good location to monkey forest and was a nice walk to the main areas of ubud. We particularly enjoyed the fact that one morning there were some monkeys chilling outside by our pool. The only downside was the breakfast - we had the buffet breakfast one day then had breakfast brought to the villa the other day (as either was an option when staying in the villa part) but the food was pretty average. Would have liked a better selection of fruits including bananas and yoghurt or the option of banana pancakes.

Beautiful Landscape and Close To many Fun sites

This was an outstanding hotel with a very warm welcoming staff. The hotel is extremely clean. We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again if we ever have another trip in that area. Truly a wonderful experience that added to the adventure of being in Bali. There are many nearby tourist sites in the nearby area which made doing activities very easy.

Good hotel in a nice quiet area

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed our experience. Overall everything was good expect few things if we compare to other hotels we stayed at in the area. Breakfast is not great, most of the time served cold even if you go early. Not many choices and they charge you extra if you ask for green tea or cappuccino . The spa server was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. Pools were clean and the hotel was well maintained.

Hotel clean, well kept, and quiet location

Stayed for 3 nights in Feb., low season. Not very crowded, staff very attentive, friendly, and polite. Hotel is away from shops, restaurants, busy streets around the Royal Palace area, so it is quiet, and not crowded. You can walk along Monkey Forest Park to get to these places during the day. Have to share narrow path with motor cyclists, and path has no street lights.

Good choice for relaxing in Ubud

Great place, 3 pools, spacious and clean rooms and very relax! Staff super friendly. Just a bit far from town main streets but close to monkey forest. Although the hotel has a shuttle bus to take you there.

Very nice hotel - highly recommend

Had a wonderful experience. Not only were the staff warm and welcoming but they remembered our names from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was nice but the massages at the spa were amazing, best we had in Bali. Would return when next in Bali - loved the hotel and its close proximity to town centre

Perfect Monkey Retreat

All around excellent stay. Prompt reply on request for airport pickup - 500,000 IDR which was well worth it considering it was more than one and half hours, with courtesy waters and nice hotel representative. Stayed in a villa which was beautiful clean 2-bedroom unit with 2 tvs 2 bathrooms and a private pool which was even visited daily by monkeys. Wonderful breakfast buffet at resort.
