Beautiful stay in this lush property. Soft and comfortable bed linen. The bungalow is spacious with a lovely deck and pool. The staff are very kind and helpful at all times. Also the monkeys come say hello and it’s a nature lover’s paradise. I would love to come back!

The location is perfect: so close to central Ubud, yet far enough away from the chaos to feel peaceful and relaxing. The on-site café/restaurant was fantastic, and I found a new favourite breakfast that I ordered every morning—the “Hot Monkey”!
There are plenty of massage places nearby, ranging from local spots to more high-end options within the village. Also a short walk to more more food options.
The rainfall shower was excellent, comfy day sofa and balcony seating - the staff were consistently warm, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. A short walk next to the monkey forest and you’ll be in the central Ubud area.
If you’re looking for a place with a true Balinese feel, away from boring, generic hotel rooms, this is the perfect base. Just remember there are monkeys around. I’d happily stay here again.

i stayed here in 2023, and again in November 2025. I love the closeness of the hotel to Ubud, but dislike the closeness to the Monkey Forest. There are always aggressive monkeys terriorizing guests, not allowing them to enjoy the outdoors. For this reason I will not return next trip.

The rooms can use a few touch-ups such paint touch-ups, better lighting (room was very dark despite all lights being on), windows still had noticeable gaps despite being “closed” completely, and better curtain coverage in bathrooms. Otherwise, staff was amazing-10 out of 10! They were all so friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was amazing as well! I ordered room service every day. The property grounds were immaculate- I always saw staff cleaning and sweeping the property nonstop. Both rooms I stayed in (Thankful and Dream) were nicely decorated and spacious. Location was great too- right next to monkey forest, about 10-20 min drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown depending on traffic. Just be careful of monkeys appearing on your balcony if you decide to eat/drink on the balcony. Overall, a great peaceful experience!

Due to torrential rain, I ate at the property. The food was so good! Lots of variety. I needed to get a taxi but the Grab and Gojek apps kept canceling due to the rain. The front desk receptionist was so helpful in arranging a ride for me that arrived within 10 minutes . I was so grateful for the help. I love the hotel , the rooms and decor. Definitely reccommend.

Property is only 3 stars. The room had to be reclined. The room was not well insulated either. Decor is fun but very outdated. Staff friendly. I repeat do not do the nail or spa at this resort. I repeat do not do it. The lady messed my nails up. However she did agree to redo them but I did not want her touching me again. Yet the resort still charged me. My gel polish peeled off the same day. I went straight to the desk and told them. Monkeys everywhere which was scary. These are not nice monkeys. I had to call the front desk to escort me pasted these dangerous monkeys. I honestly was too scared to walk and enjoy the area. The restaurant food was good but horrible service. I had to flag down the waitress everytime. I will never return to this property. Staff was friendly. Pool area nice but water dirty.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful- and this location is perfect for those wanting all the convenience of Ubud without being in the hustle and bustle. The neighborhood is beautiful and it is right next to the monkey forest!

The facilities have a lot of potential but unfortunately we’re simply not clean or well kept. The curtains, bedding, sofas and shower curtains are all very stained and had holes- and the room was not clean at all. I think an investment in new soft goods would go a long way. If location is a priority- you really can not beat this area.

I booked this hotel based on the reviews and price. Keeping the price in mind my expectations were realistic. It should be clean regardless.

The front desk staff were extremely nice.

After that it went down

We got to the room. It smelled. Not tropical mustiness. Just plain mildew. The bathroom was dirty and smelled like the airport urinal. It wafted out of the shower as I took a much needed rinse from an 18 hour flight. Maybe use a trap to keep the methane out. The windows had tape over the cracks. Why.. To keep the mosquitos out. Didn't work. Their nets need to be replaced.

Next we got woke up at 8am by hammering and a circular saw cutting. I thought oops we are next to a construction site. Nope it was the hotel.

Obviously The hotel has to perform maintenance. It should be between 10 and 5. Period. Hotels are meant for one reason. To rest. Starting on a project at 8am is wrong unless it’s an emergency. Pounding nails and using a circular saw at 8am is wrong. I asked after being rudely awakened by both if they were going to be going for a while. They said yes. They looked at me with a shrug. I shrugged back. Really. The hotel management needs to change. No bad hotels…just bad management.

Next….The motorcycles sound as if they’re in your room. The road outside the hotel is busy. Always. Never saw that in a review.

Next we were told to be quiet if we used the pool as we checked in. Then listened to a family yack away in the pool till 9pm.

The Bali Bohemia restaurant was also excellent food and other food options on the street made for a convenient stay. The monkeys were the only thing that made it interesting trying to steal our shoes and harassing us. But you are staying in the monkey forest if you choose Bali Bohemia

The villas were really funky, very interesting. Staff were also very pleasant, unfortunately open mic night on Thursday is not a good night if you want to go to bed before 1130. Very loud, with what seems to be a disregard for other patrons.
If its raining watch your step, lobby has a very slippery floor, which caught me and the walking path to town is an adventure in its self. Wifi is almost non existent.

Quiet stay with monkey visitors

A fabulous place to hang out in Ubud for 3 nights. Your next door neighbor is the Monkey Forest so there are regular visits on the hotel roofs and on the wall by the restaurant. Lots of fun. Nice pool, lovely setting and garden, very friendly and helpful reception staff. Can see lots of monkeys by walking along the lane by the hotel. Only small criticism, when staying in the downstairs room there can be noise from the people upstairs if they have hard shoes. Overall very relaxing and quiet to sleep away from the hustle and bustle of town.

Bali Bohemia was just beautiful! A stunning, thoughtfully designed oasis! The room was gorgeous, with lovely linen, a very comfy bed and great air con. We stayed in one of the mezzanine rooms and loved having the little sitting area downstairs and the balcony. The pool was very clean and refreshing, and the staff were so lovely and spoke excellent English.

Only tiny little things we didn't love:
- to get into the main part of Ubud, you have to walk along a very narrow path that goes alongside the monkey forest. We met some very aggressive monkeys each time and it wasn't a very nice experience. Add to that the scooters that are whizzing down the path (which is less than 2m wide) all day and all night, and it isn't terribly safe to walk. So it's a bit of pain to walk into the main part of Ubud during the day and is very very dark at night. Lots of lovely cafes around Bali Bohemia and it's very easy to get a grab, so it's not a big deal, but it was a bummer.

- The noise. We totally understand that to stay somewhere beautiful with nice facilities, that those facilities have to be built and maintained. The staff were so apologetic and we do understand that construction noise is sometimes inescapable in tourist destinations, but the reality was that we couldn't relax around the pool at all in the afternoons without having to listen to a bloke with an angle grinder/tile saw going at it 10m away. It wouldn't stop us staying here again, but we didnt love it.

We chose this property because its so unique, colorful and full of character. The design and layout of each villa is fun, beautiful, hippy bohemia style. However, some of the drawbacks is that theres lots of mosquitoes, bugs, spiders, geckos, frogs and monkeys in the building or around the area. So if you dont like having visitors daily then maybe its not for you. We enjoyed it and didnt mind the visitors, in fact, they made our stay more memorable. If youre staying at a 2 level villa like at the lotus, be prepared for the noise = you can hear whomever is walking upstairs very loudly due to the wooden floorboards. The air con works but is noisy. We were happy to stay here but wouldnt stay again as we would like to try a different hotel the next time we visit Ubud. This hotel is right next to monkey forest which is a must visit and about 10min walk to the street that leads you to Ubud Art Market & Palace.

Facilities are beautiful, off the beaten track. 20 min walk to Main Street. We were in the lotus suite two bedrooms lots of facilities private pool with only the monkeys watching. Upstairs twin rooms are separate from main room have to go outside stairs so kids felt a bit scared when monkeys followed. Keep doors shut will be ok. Can hear monkeys all night. But not too loud. Staff are beautiful they were in a ceremony when we arrived and were very apologetic for making me wait but it was a small wait. Happy to wait was beautiful to watch. The photos on here are nice but in real life it is so much more beautiful, I would stay here again and again.

We just loves our stay at Bali Bohemia! We stayed in the Lotus Room which exceeded our expectations!! It was huge and so private! Beautiful decor and pool! With the room being so close to the Monkey forest we did often have monkeys hanging out around our pool so we needed to learn how to deal with them but thankfully there are sticks on hand to shoo them away…. Was such a unique experience!! We loved the cafe as well! All the staff were so helpful and lovely. We would definitely stay again!!

Rooms were clean. They don't have good socket. Our chargers didn't fit in those socket and when we use the plug to connect other chargers then also it didn't work. I had to sit in restaurants where flat and big sockets were available but due to the presence of mosquitoes, I wasn't the good stay. Breakfast facility management is not that good because it is managed by other management. Garden , swimming pool and rooms were good. Problems with charging and mosquitoes.

This property is beautiful! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only advice I would give is to double-check your bill at yhe end. I travelled with a group of friends and someone else paid for lunch for me. At the end, they also added it to my bill. My friends had already left ahead of me so I couldn't verify it. I paid it again. It only cost me $12.00cdn but still, if it happens more than once, it will start to add up. It is located across the street from the Monkey Forest so you need to be extra careful with leaving anything on your balcony/front porch. They are very sneaky, quiet and very quick! Listen to the staff's 'words of wisdom' because they know! I would definitely stay here again.

Spacious rooms with beautiful surroundings - lush and green. Eternity room was massive with a kitchen and its own pool. The regular rooms are cute too. Comfy bed with lots of pillows. I would love to stay here again.

The hotel has a restaurant where you can charge meals to the room. There’s a common swimming pool that was never very full or busy. They can arrange for a masseuse to come to your room for a massage or treatment.

From the hotel you can easily walk to other food options as well.

Quirky and special with monkey interaction

I chose it for its quirkiness and proximity to the Monkey Forest. The many interactions with monkeys may not be for everyone but it made my stay. You have to remember you can’t eat in your balcony or in my case drink black tea because you will get mugged. The pool is small but adequate for cooling off. They are replacing the bungalow’s roofs which is noisy but should be over soon. In reception there is water cooler to refill your water bottle which was big plus for me

Do not recommend at all.
Staff fail to explain hotel details and are thieves and lie.
Upon check in we were told coffee was free from restaurant as we were guests at hotel.
On check out our daughter checked our room but failed to check bathroom where items of clothes (silk night wear) were accidentally left.
They totally embarrassed me by calling our driver to say we hadn't paid our coffee bill on checkout day. Later that night when I realised my silk nightwear was missing I contacted the hotel the following morning only to be told no I hadn't left anything behind and that my daughter had checked the room.
This is poor form from staff at the hotel. Management need to understand this behavior isn't good enough!
And yes, next time I will check the room myself however that will make no difference to lying staff!

5/5 for a 3-star hotel. Friendly service, beautiful garden and well-designed room however, I found the pillows very uncomfortable. Hopefully by the time you read this they may have upgraded the pillows. The ones in our room were too high for me, and the reception gave me a lower pillow, but they felt quite lumpy. Besides that, it was a good location, close to the monkey forest (where the monkeys were cheeky but entertaining); also close to nice restaurants and cafes. I would stay here again.

The property was cute and beautiful! I loved all the boho decor everywhere and how each room was personalized. The food at the restaurant was delicious. They don’t remove your plates quickly but that seems to be a recurring theme in all of Bali lol the staff were great. I couldn’t download the gojek app so they called them for me whenever I needed to go somewhere. Super close to the monkey forest so you can see them walking to town or even on the property sometimes!

Beautiful and Relaxing Bali Bohemia

Had a wonderful stay in Bali Bohemia! It was a really quirky, novel and pretty place to stay. Rooms were large with lots of space. The gardens were beautiful. The hotel is very central, literally 5 steps away from monkey forest and less than 10 minutes away from the central streets of Ubud. The reception staff were wonderful! They helped us with everything we needed including tours, travel transfers etc! No request was an issue and they were both so so friendly! As mentioned, the gardens and pool were gorgeous and we had been warned that the monkeys come in but they’re aren’t friendly and will take your stuff so it felt a little uncomfortable to chill around the pool. That is a very small complaint however because there is so much to see do and experience in Ubud so there’s little time to be there anyways! The restaurant was super tasty and offered a gorgeous selection! The open Mike night was fun and lively too!

Bali Bohemia is reasonably priced, so I thought it was too good to be true, but I loved this hotel so much, and I highly recommend it. I stayed there alone, but I would love to take my whole family there. I had my own little house at pool level. I had my own porch. When I walked in the sliding glass doors into my room, the beautiful colorful bed was facing me, and there was a hand-painted mural on the wall. The fabrics and colors were interesting throughout, so it's not like a cookie-cutter hotel. The bathroom area had good lighting and a good shower. The AC worked great. The staff brought a gratitude basket of flower petals and incense to my porch each morning and blessed my spot. Finally, I loved the restaurant and ate every breakfast and dinner there.

It was very relaxed and peaceful. Not a huge hotel so no noise. The staff were wonderful.
There are no TVs or phones in the rooms which I loved. The monkeys roam around the property but don’t bother anyone although they will steal things off your deck.
The amenities are basic, the rooms are clean. I love that each room is decorated differently. Very eclectic/ bohemian.
Short walk to stalls, markets and restaurants.
I would definitely stay there again.

Bali Bohemia saved our honeymoon.
My husband and I had to make several adjustments to our March 2020 trip plans due to other Indonesian islands preventing foreigners from entering, as well as abrupt flight cancellations. We came here on recommendation from a friend and couldn't be happier! The staff were top notch and the restaurant gave a 5-star experience for the food, atmosphere, and location. We stayed in the Heritage Room our first night and were blown away by the artsy, hand-made furnishings. The next day we left for a neighboring resort where we had previously made reservations but were so disappointed with its presentation/ambiance/poor value that we came running back to Bali Bohemia! They let us celebrate Nyepi and finish out our trip in the Lotus Villa, which was absolutely amazing!! It's probably too big for only 2 people but their 1-bedroom villa was spoken for. Because of its proximity to the Monkey Forest we felt like we were staying in a zoo exhibit! The experience was a dream come true--definitely 10/10.
Also, a big shout out to Jessica and her friendly staff for helping us through the government lock-down post Nyepi 2020. Our driver got special security clearance from the village leaders to help us arrive on time for our flight back to the USA via Jakarta. Jessica even cooked us breakfast herself, since all restaurants were unexpectedly closed and her staff wasn't allowed to come to work! We're for sure coming back again.

Right next to the Sacred Monkey Forest entrance this Bohemian delight awaits. Perfect in every way.

Only thing that we had issues with were the very noisy bamboo beds. Every time you move it cracks really loudly! But hey ho you’re using bamboo only to be expected really. Nila who was on reception is fabulous and her English is very good. Loved my 3 nights here.

This place is so relaxing and down to earth. Warm welcome when we arrived and received a refresher. Very close to the monkey sanctuary. Received visitors every morning a bit scary at first not sure about the monkeys but the soon left. Close to coffee houses, spa and restaurants. I really had a wonderful stay. The breakfast is delicious too.

Our reservation was upgraded to the honeymoon suite \"Eternity\" so it was quite spacious and had its own private pool. We had several visits from the local monkeys. The bed is comfortable and the decor is funky and artistic. Rooms are provided with shampoo, liquid soap, and natural bug repellent. They also provide glass bottled water which is refilled daily or upon request. The property is within walking distance of Ubud center but you walk along a shortcut path next to the Monkey Forest. It is quite busy with motor scooters and can be a little intimidating in the more narrow spots but the scooter drivers watch out for pedestrians. It is also within walking distance of several other restaurants if you choose not to take the path. The breakfast provided at the restaurant is tasty and filling though the menu is not extensive. We also had good appetizers and beer one afternoon at the restaurant. The front desk staff are all very attentive and helpful. We were greeted with smiles every time we returned to the property. They easily assisted us with getting a driver to take us to the airport, as well. It was a great place to simply relax!

Had an amazing 3-day stay here. The surroundings are beautiful and staff are extremely helpful. Quiet location but a short walk to the main town. Really good breakfast with a view of the monkeys causing mischief. Overall, absolutely perfect!

The wooden cabin was charming and the bathroom was really exotic with statue/fountains and a little pool, a black and white round rock floor that felt wonderful on bare feet and a shower like a fresh rain. All of this was well maintained. The bedroom was too dark in general and it was difficult to see what I was doing at times - though they did have some little reading lights over the bed.

Bali Bohemia is the best place to stay! Very clean, safe and right next to monkey forest-so fun watching monkeys running around! Staff was excellent! Went out of their way to assist. Hotel is in walking distance to great shopping and restaurants but if you need to go somewhere further the staff will set up transport or take you themselves! Free breakfast is great and is served until 11 am so don't have to wake up super early! Hotel staff took care of everything from booking rides to booking day excursions. I spent a week here and didn't want to leave I felt so spoiled! They even rebooked my fast boat from Lombok because I wasn't happy with the fast boat I took to Lombok. I couldn't get a refund from boat company so Bali Bohemia rebooked for me on a different boat and payed for it just so I would be happy! Top notch customer service!

I likes absolutely everything about this hotel. The location next to Monkey Forest meant a lot of monkey encounters which was amusing. The staff were over the top helpful. The adjacent restaurant was so delicious and relaxing and the location was central for dining, shopping and sightseeing.

I actually didn't like anything about this property. I had been reccomended this property so I booked to stay for 2 nights on my own after reading the 'great' reviews. What did others see that I didn't? My room was dark, No aircon, an outside bathroom where my neighbours could see me shower. As it was open air I had been attacked by mozzies within 10 minutes. There was also no TV. I didn't realise how secluded the location was & as I was travelling on my own & don't ride a scooter (which u new there) I felt quite claustraphohic. I was hoping to be in short walking distance to cafes & shops but it was a good 25 minute walk.
The pool area was small with only 4 lounge chairs.
I ate at their restaurant at the end of the laneway. I stayed an hour, booked another hotel in Legian, forfeited by $160, spent 10 minutes trying to barter a trip back to Legian.

All in all it was a wasted day & money. Ubud is absolutely beautiful & will visit again But will do a bit more research on location
