Made reservations at the wrong hotel. There are 3 hotels in Ubud named Pertiwi. Family owned. 2 are on Bursa road, 1 on Monkey Forest Road. I thought we made reservations for the Monkey Forest Road hotel, but found out we made them for the Bursa road hotel. They are family owned. Tried to switch hotels (after 2 days moved out) and spent 4 nights at Monkey Forest Road hotel. They would not transfer cost of hotel, had to pay for 4 new nights ($217) lost the money for 4 nights at Bursa road hotel. Room at Bursa road hotel was about 1 mile for desk. Street in front of hotel was a main road, no sidewalks, had to walk on road, very dangerous. John

We really liked our stay. We had a hut style room by the pool though we only had one free socket. The pool at the far end and grounds were great. Could do with more loungers. The breakfast was lovely and we ate there for one meal in the evening which was very good.
The surrounding area (on the street) was dirty and had constant traffic either scooters or cars and the pavements were dodgy like most of Ubud.

Great place to stay. It’s not too far from the main streets but far enough that the Main Street noise doesn’t reach your room. The only con about our room was the amount of mosquitos there were. We got rid of some if not all on our first night but then after we had our room made there were more and I’m sure it was just from the door being opened while staff was cleaning our room. Staff however were amazing and helpful. I recommend staying here.

The property looks nice but unfortunately there was building work happening on the property and next door to the property. Had we known we would not have booked this.

We booked a cabin with the intention of having a peaceful and relaxing time. We were given a cabin immediately next to the building work, which runs from sunrise to sunset, so basically 6.30am until 6pm. The property is also close to a bar playing loud music through the evening.

Hotel staff were indifferent when we raised the problem of noise and despite there being empty cabins further away we were not offered the choice of moving. The cabins are also near to the swimming pool, which is also for all hotel guests so obviously it was not for the chalet’s guests.

The room was clean although basic but the bathroom had a noticeable smell of urine.

We were not able to check in as expected so had a wait of 1.5 hours, going over the checking time - we suspect this was more to encourage guests to have lunch. We were not offered water despite the heat; this is in contrast to every other hotel we have stayed at in Bali. The food was average and far better food can be found close by at a better price.

Breakfast was also disappointing with low quality cold drinks and limited food, which was also not particularly good. Again we would recommend not booking with breakfast and enjoying a far better breakfast a couple of minutes away in Ubud.

The only downfall was that the bottles of water are so very tiny that you don’t even quench your thirst and we had to give our room numbers all the time. We made coffee in our room every morning and there goes our two bottles , we tried getting more but it was one at a time and it was so hot for us Canadians.

Pertiwi bisma 2 stay in August

The location of the hotel was great, walkable to downtown Ubud and close to the monkey forest and shops! The staff was friendly and nice. The rooms were big and clean. The only issue I had was that ants were on top of the dinning/working table and coffee table. Also, the shower was not the most comfortable. But other than that it is a nice place for a very good price.

Upon arrival after flying for 30 hours I was taken to my “quiet room” where the ere was a party happening next door to mine all night. This led me to waste a day the following day as I was so tired I slept all day.
When I woke up the toilet and shower didn’t work nor the bidet and there was water all over the floor which made my fresh clothes I brought, wet.
The hotel kindly upgraded me to a room abit further away which was great except i turned the light on in the middle of the night to find a nest of baby spiders crawling on the wall near me and about 100+ big ants crawling over the floor.
The room was spotless when k got upgraded to it but seems there’s some way they’re all getting in

This was an excellent location. It was about a 1/2 mile off the mane road. It was easy to walk to the main road. There are multiple restaurants, bars and coffee shops in walking distance. The pool was amazing, but it is deeper than average for just wading water. The breakfast was excellent everyday. I would definitely stay here again.

Although the the grounds are very well kept, the room itself especially the toilet was filthy, it's only a newish place so it's not from wear, it's just not cleaned properly.
Like most placed in Ubud it had a strong smell of damp and sewerage.
The bed was clean and the furniture tops. Wifi connection wasn't bad
For the price you might think what else to expect, and we checked out other places in person around the same price and they where nice, therefore we left.

In our 2 week stay in Bali Pertiwi 2 was the best overall hotel for value, comfort and location. Also it is locally owned so very spiritual atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Great value, convenient for Mushroom beach

This is a great hotel if you want to stay on the quieter side of Lembongan on Mushroom beach. I stayed here for a couple of weeks while diving with Scuba Center Asia (highly recommend) next door. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the pools was great. It's a short walk to Mushroom Beach or secret beach, the breakfasts are great as well. I'd highly recommend a stay here. Only down side is that it can be hard to get a taxi to and from Jungubatu but it's great if you are able to ride and rent a motorbike.

Lost power a couple of times during my stay, but that was to the whole island (not resort specific). I'm not sure if they have a generator but it didn't bother me either way. Wifi connectivity in the rooms could be improved.

Did not like that the reception was right next to the pool with no screening, not very relaxing or inviting.
My bath/shower was dirty when I arrived and the tile grout has mould (nothing a good scrub wouldn't fix) Someone knocked on my door early every morning, waking me up, again not very relaxing.
WIFI was terrible, basically never worked
Otherwise, staff were friendly and helpful, close to the main town centre.

We stayed for 3 night is laste September 2016.
We initially stayed in one of the older rooms for the first night, then they upgraded us to a pool villa for the other two nights to make way for a large booking. It was nice to be by the pool. The rooms had only been finished the day we moved in, so we didn't have a mini fridge and the room was not cleaned fully, which was a little disappointing but didn't dampen the stay. After all, it's Bali, a different standard to home.
The staff are very friendly and very helpful.
The gardens are beautiful and the quiet surrounds are so peaceful.

Staff were very obliging and breakfast offered variety. The bedrooms were spacious and well maintained however bathrooms could do with upgrading. Location was great with two short cuts into Ubud. We found a great spa across the road from the hotel and many others litter the street, Jalan Bisma, as you walk to Ubud central. A flashlight or phone was handy when walking back to the hotel in the dark. Many restaurants available within walking distance also. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great looking Budget hotel

Lovely tropical gardens. Good looking rooms that had connecting verandas if needed. Towels were grey looking instead of white and clean looking. Soap container had no soap in it for the 5days we stayed. We paid for breakfast included in room charge which we had to order from selected menu. We were not sure about eating food from there as kitchen didn't look clean or well staffed. On our first night we went to the restaurant and we were told we could only order pizza or one other dish. We looked at the one staff person in the kitchen and decided to find a resturant in main Ubud area. The staff member who drives the free shuttle offered to take us to the drop off point in Ubud. We stayed at the beginning of April low season so the resturant was not busy or well staffed. Location was quiet and a good walk to resturantes and Ubud market. Lovely quality spa putri Ubud spa opposite which had trip advisor award 2015. cheap umah pizza with free delivery on the same road.

Great gem in Ubud

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Pertiwi Bisma 2 in Ubud. The location is excellent - walking distance and close to the heart of town but far enough away to eliminate road and crowd noises. The pool is wonderful, and the rooms are very comfortable and have all the amenities needed. The breakfast is good and convenient. My only caution is to be prepared for the mosquitos; it is a tropical climate and they can be expected, but I found that I had more problems with the mosquitos getting inside the room than I had during my entire trip outsid. I got many many bites during the night, which made a restful sleep difficult. I might suggest the property invest in mosquito netting or to bring your own. Otherwise, I would happily stay here again!

Do the cleaning staff try on customer clothes?

All stay bags had been opened during cleaning and not closed properly and clothes were suddenly hung up differently after room cleaning also. I hadn't really bothered much but then my bikini top clasp was broken while I was out. The bottoms were hung up inside out suddenly also?! Inquisitiveness beyond normal levels I can overlook as long as nothing is taken, it is VERY creepy but different cultures, all you can do is move hotel. But to break an expensive bikini top while fooling around is not ideal! The reception staff pretend not to speak English is there is a problem, so no joy there. Do the management have any comment? The room cleaning staff are all men and these were women's clothes also?! They seem to enjoy goofing around in the hallways, in customers rooms also it seems! Just so people coming are warned.

Great Place for the Price in Ubud

This hotel was clean and the staff, like everywhere in Bali was friendly and helpful. If you turn right out of the hotel, a place only scooters and walkers and traverse, you are a short distance from the Monkey Forest. We turned left the first night and walked much further than needed to reach Monkey Forest Road. This did allow us to see the town and we had a great time. After on wonderful breakfast included in the price, we turned to the right and were at the Monkey Forest in less than eight minutes. We were the first in at 8:30. Great time to go, before the crowds and the heat. Once we had our bearings we realized how great the location of this hotel was, close to town, but on a quiet street.

Lovely helpful staff, great pool!

The warmth and helpfulness of the people running the hotel is great. The pool is lovely and the rooms have all you need, on the basic side, I found the pillows a little uncomfortable and the beds are not the best, but it is fine. You can look straight into another hotel room from the balcony depending which room you have, might be an issue. Would be odd to sit on the balcony with people directly opposite, but the pool is nice to sit around, so maybe spend time there instead. The shuttle is limited and the location of the hotel takes a bit of getting used to but the warmth of the people and the quiet setting make up for shortfalls. Breakfast is nice, they make a real effort - maybe some real juice instead of 'Sunny delight' called 'Orange Juice' - actual juice would be nicer and certainly live up to the name 'juice!' Good for the price.

We loved staying here- it was very comfortable and the pool was amazing. You can walk to the monkey forest and to the market. There is a shuttle 4 times a day to take you to the market if you prefer. Lots of places to eat nearby and overall it was a great choice. I like my creature comforts and it had them here.
We arranged for a driver on this street and he took us to Sanur with some interesting stops on the way for 250,000 idr ( about $25 Cdn).

Our stay at the Pertiwi Bisma 2 was really nice. The staff was very friendly, the rooms/bathrooms were very clean. The AC wasn't as cold as our friend's room, but they also had a fair bit of mosquitoes. They told the staff and they were given some room repellent to help. Our rate included breakfast, which was a great deal - offering 3 choices of American, Continental and Indonesian style. The hotel is down the street from the main \"Ubud\" center, but VERY easy to get to just walking (if you can handle the heat) or just rent motorbikes, and it's a quick 5min scoot.

Not expect too much!!

The room was not really clean (the bathroom floor was sticky and filthy).

The linning and curtains were not clean (many spot).

The isolation of the room was minimal (you hear everything from outside).

The room service menu is useless (60% of the menu was not avalaible).

Also, it's really difficult to talk with the staff... They don't speak english.

The only positive is the wifi work's good.

Affordable and Relaxing

I had stayed at both Pertiwi Bisma 1 and Bisma 2, and they are right next door to eachother. The apartment rooms at both 1 and 2 were exactly the same as far as I can tell. Both clean and spacious. 2 was less than half the price of 1, and as far as I can tell the only difference was the pool area and the view, which was definitely better at 1. But for the price, 2 was definitely well worth it. A nice quiet area close to Monkey Forest and Monkey street. Instead of using the normal street, you can get to Monkey street by cutting through Pertiwi Spa and Resort, which is also owned by the same family. The staff was very friendly and they even made us a boxed breakfast to take with us to the airport since our departure was earlier than their breakfast time. My one grievance, and it is the same with Pertiwi Bisma 1, is that the shower leaks water because the bathtub installation was not done properly.

Overall, if you are looking for a nice quiet relaxing clean place that is very affordable and has good service, I do recommend this hotel.

Close to downtown UBUD

Standard hotel construction with long narrow hallways. Nice pool, A/C was good and had large bed. Patio is very narrow and ours had little in the way of a view. Not a bad spot, can walk to downtown though they provide scheduled shuttle service.

lovely stay in Ubud

We really enjoyed our time in Ubud. the staff were friendly and helpful and helped us to secure travel to our next destination. It is a bit far down Jl. Bisma but the hotel offers a free shuttle service and it is walkable.

Totally Fantastic place to stay

So happy with our stay here, beautiful property, staff absolutely fabulous, breakfast and restaurant had great food, beautiful pool area and lush tropical gardens. Not many facilities on the street, but a walk through sister resort takes you to monkey forest road. Do not eat at Umah Pizza I came down with bacterial gastrointestinal infection and was so sick had to call out a doctor. Highly recommend Laughing Buddha bar and Freak Coffee

Pleasant stay in Ubud

hotel surrounded by paddi rice fields, located near to shop & dine in Ubud central.. swimming pool also nice for night swimming. room is big & clean, breakfast was fine..
definitely value for money.

bisma street accommodation

My sister and I stayed here for 4 days in June. The location suited us although it's a good 15 walk to the middle of monkey forest rd. The pool is fantastic and we usually had it to ourselves. There was a lower level of English spoken by staff than other places we'd stayed at so be prepared to be patient or bone up on your indonesian. Just one english language tv channel. Biggest negative for us was that the bathroom flooded after each shower. Breakfasts were fairly standard although avoid the soggy white bread served with eggs. Bakery includes the best banana bread ever.

Great hotel for the price

For a budget-priced hotel this is just fine. We stayed here three weeks and enjoyed it. The bathroom layout is the only negative. The shower is hand-held (common in Bali) but to get into the small raised bathtub there is a tall wooden step (not attached to the floor or the tub frame) which might prove awkward and maybe even dangerous for travellers without good balance (or the elderly). To avoid water spilling onto the floor we had to get inventive in the use of the showerhead. Apart from that the beds are good, great pillows, air-con worked well and the rooms are clean and spacious with a two locking closet doors and a safe. Breakfasts are ala carte and very basic but good. Dinner menu is very limited but there are lots of small cafes along the street. The staff in every hotel were wonderful - very friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely, kept clean and there are a dozen lounge chairs in the private garden pool area. We'll be back! Bisma Street is only accessible by motorbike beyond this hotel which means lots of walking or hiring of local transport.
