Pictures of this hotel are extremely deceiving. I was put in a ground floor room which is effectively in the basement as hotel built into the hillside. Room was dark, no view whatsoever and most concerning was it was extremely damp. Dehumidifier was brought in after 1st night and need emptying daily which shows the extent of the damp problem. Avoid Room 110 at all costs. Toilet also needed fixing and room wasn’t ready at advertised check-in time. On the positive side, great location and great pool area.

The food was fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether it was breakfast with a view or a quiet dinner by the pool, every meal was a treat.

The service was warm, professional, and thoughtful throughout our stay. The staff made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.

Luxury and peace in busy little town

Beautiful property, great view over the valley and quiet after being set back from the main road. Plenty of restaurants nearby within walking distance and only 15mins walk to monkey palace or 20mins to ridge walk. Highlights are the pool, free daily afternoon tea, the spacious rooms and friendly staff. Wouldn't hesitate to come back!

This is my third time at Goya - I love it so much. It’s serene, quiet and beautiful. The staff here are SO lovely, from reception, to restaurant, groundskeepers and housekeeping. It’s such a nice retreat and I am so relaxed when here. The hotel was so kind to give me a parting gift for staying here three times - so unexpected and a lovely touch. The breakfast continues to be top notch from the service to the food. I was so happy to see the additional pool constructed from my last visit. I will definitely be back!

The property is beautiful, love the infinity pool, and so relaxing, literally close to nature. the restaurant on the property serves delicious meals from breakfast to dinner. They are so pleasant, and welcoming every day, ready to serve or help you in every way possible. clean comfortable beds, with great air conditioning. the highlight of the trip are the staff: best staff ever, most outstanding I would like to thank Novi, Wirma, and of course our best person Kedak Adi. I wanted to have a driver and car to do my own custom itinerary, these three made it possible. Adi was with us for the whole day taking me to amazing places. They had water bottles, wet cool face towels, and pool towels for us in the car as we would complete one journey to the next. I got to see 5 different places in the 10 hours that we booked Adi as a driver for the whole day.
The best of all they were able to accommodate and take me to my next destination in a new city. I would definitely be back at Goya Resort.

Amazing stay in Ubud

The staff and hotel was amazing , it’s a smaller atmosphere with very helpful staff . Shopping nearby and you can walk to most locations. The pool villa was very private and beautiful and the guest infinity pools with view of forest were great . Ubud has lots to offer we regret not staying longer as we moved on to Nusa dua area . I’ll mention it again staff and service was above and beyond. We would definitely stay there again as we are people who don’t stay anywhere twice . See you soon possibly . The Canadians

Breakfast was phenomenal with plenty of fresh local fruit and tasty options. Not your typical “breakfast included” hotel - this was fresh and quite gourmet. Oh, and the coffee was amazing! Would easily have seconds each morning :)

I and my wife stay in innumerable hotels around the world every year, medium to upper price bracket range. Of those we would say a dozen rank as our favorites and the Goya is among them. As far as guest hospitality is concerned, theirs exceeds even the best Bali can offer, and the rooms and guest areas are simply breathtaking. It's a little walk into the centre of Ubud but who cares when the simple luxury is awaiting your return. Top marks, Chapeau!

Very nice setting with the pool. Dinner menu options were ok not a lot available. Very noisy construction site above our room, the hotel did not offer a discount seeing as we were paying a lot of money to stay there. They were only able to move our room after 2 days of loud noise. Loud noise all day sitting by the pool and having breakfast while the extensions were being built. Not ideal at an expensive resort on holiday. But the place was really nice.

Beautiful hotel to come ‘home’ and relax in after days out in Ubud. We were in the hotel rooms rather than villas - they felt large and comfortable with sofas and balconies. Bathrooms were lovely. The breakfast room was a great place to sit and the made to order breakfasts were always delicious with lots of options.
The staff really went out of their way to accommodate and were unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful.

One of the best places to Stay in Ubud

My wife and I traveled to Ubud for our honeymoon and had such a lovely and memorable stay at Goya Boutique Hotel.

The staff were very attentive and always took great care of us. We were also greeted by the manager, Stanley, who was really nice and even gave us a complimentary romantic honeymoon dinner which was such a nice touch.

Our 1 bedroom villa was very nice with a relaxed vibe, private pool and authentic Balinese decor which was really cool. The staff in the hotel helped us organize day trips, taxis and had lots of helpful tips for our stay.

We both really loved the view from the main pool area and restaurant.

We will definitely be visiting this gem again. Thank you for such a memorable stay. This place is getting nothing short of a 5* review from us

Great location in Ubud as it's in a secluded area just 5 minutes from the busy area of Ubud with good food spots. Service was excellent. Loved the breakfast and afternoon tea! Only gripe we had was that some towels we got were stained, which was kind of gross. Otherwise HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

One of the best resorts I have stayed in. Amazing staff, amazing food, fantastic views and anything you need is right there. Very close to Ubud town with enough tranquility should you need it. Excellent massages and everything from breakfast, to happy hour to room service was out of this world. 2 bedroom villa with private pool was totally awesome and the accommodation had everything one could possibly need. While the infinity pool is nice, the pool overcrowded and small, and rooms mostly do not have any views. Breakfast is simply average., no soap or shower gel in the bathrooms. Friendly staff who tried to make up for what the hotel does not provide.. the location is also while in the city not in a good street. I would say overall an average experience with so many better alternatives in Ubud.

We got a good steal! Goya is beautiful, clean, quiet, good pool and breakfast! The staff are friendly and helpful. They greet you with smile every time they see you. The Luxury toiletries are provided, Bvglari. It’s located at a quiet side but there was a construction next to the hotel and it was a little annoying. The hotel is close to restaurants and few massage places. I would like to go back again.

The property was beautiful and very clean. The staff was excellent and took care of us from the moment we arrived. Cigana was very very hospitable and was always there to assist and give advice. The location was perfect and just a short walk to the town. Thanks Cigana and the staff for making our stay very very amazing!

Great place. Only issue was ongoing construction on both sides of it. I loved the place, the staff were really fantastic, but I wont be returning until the construction is over. We should have been notified of this BEFORE coming, as it goes against everything that someone expects when traveling to tranquil and peaceful Ubud.

Perfect Ubud hospitality

Amazing!

Absolutely stunning resort, with the most friendly and helpful staff imaginable! We had a deluxe room, which was very spacious, always impeccably clean and very comfortable. Pool and grounds are beautiful and in a great location to many food places and shopping!

Amazing Hotel, worth every penny.

Amazing from start to finish. Staff were amazing, and the hotel was as great as we thought it would be. Only downside were the Americans guests who were loud like only Americans can be in a quiet setting and spent way too much time staring at people rather than the amazing view which was a bit off putting when you’re trying to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, but that can’t be helped by the hotel, unless you want to ban Americans :-)

The property was more than what we could have hoped for. The staff accommodated us in every way. The meals were fantastic and the hotel is beautiful and most importantly very clean. I would say I am a pretty picky person when it comes to hotels and this place far exceeded my expectations. Also, the location is walking distance to downtown where all the shops and restaurants are, however they also have a shuttle that will take you. My husband and I were very happy with our stay and can't wait to go back!

(+) The exquisite and serene atmosphere of the premises together with the proffessional and genuinely friendly attitudes of the staff made it very pleasing to the heart and soul of its customers.
(-) Although they offered a 10-minute welcome massage per person at check-in, they did not seem to find the time to do so on the first day of arrival and they said the spa would be open at noon the next day which would be past our departure as we were staying for one night only.

The Goya Boutique Hotel is a little slice of heaven in ubud. A little off the beaten path but still in the center of town this hotel is elegant and charming as are the staff that strive to offer their guests the best experience possible. We stayed in a pool villa which was stunning. This a small hotel with a large heart with sunset views of Mt. Agung. The Balinese cooking class and a spa treatment is not to be missed. Thank you Cigana for being our cultural guide at the Water Temple.

Two words. Four Seasons.

I wanted to like this place more....the staff was super nice and the villa itself was cool....I just couldn’t fully relax without thinking a viper was gonna pop out at any time and strike. Ubud in general wasn’t my favorite, but neither was Bali. Type of place that if you leave unscathed you did well. The Four Seasons in Ubud....amazing property, seriously go check it out if only for dinner.

The best in Ubud

Goya is a truly fantastic resort. We stayed for 4 nights in a 1 bed villa which was extremely luxurious and exceeded even the pictures online. The staff are among the most friendly, diligent and helpful I’ve ever encountered and were on hand to tend to our every need. We booked a couple of excursions organised by the hotel which were a great way to see the local highlights. Put simply, if you’re going to Ubud as part of your trip to Bali, you need to stay at Goya

Beautiful hotel an a great location.

The staff can not do more for you. We had a standard room after reading reviews the the bungalows had no sun and missed the views. I couldn’t be happier with this decision. We were on the second floor and our view was impeccable. The pool area was beautiful and the areas around the hotel were manicured to perfection.
Breakfast was insane, such a wide variety of food to cater to everyone.
My only complaint is that we weren’t there for longer.

Amazing!

We are blown away by our villa when we arrived. Amazing condition, beautifully set out and very very confortable beds. Felt like we were living in luxury for the days we rated there. Staff were always so helpful and friendly and would accommodate any need. Food and cocktails were also good. View and pool area were lovely!

Fantastic hotel

Fantastic hotel, service is impeccable and nothing is too much trouble you really do get treated like royalty. Location is great- about a twenty minute walk to the centre and elevated position means jungle views are exceptional- unfortunately we had a room on the first floor so views were restricted so we would request a higher room next time. Breakfast is outstanding- one of the best we’ve ever had. The hotel also uses WhatsApp to contact you which is really handy- they offer to make reservations etc. Only a few sun beds around the pool which people were tending to reserve but they are more than happy to pull out another sunbed if you need one so just ask. Love Ubud- so many amazing restaurants, shops and things to do and will definitely be returning.

Small angle of paradise

From the moment I arrived I realized what a gem this peaceful hotel is: very tastefully and traditionally decorated , amazing pool and restaurant views high above a lush jungle setting, lovely attentive professional staff, delicate scents of incense perfuse indoor areas, excellent breakfast menu, indonesian sweets served at tea time.
The location is perfect being on a quiet street yet walking distance to market,palace, monkey forest, shops and restaurants.
Overall my four days here were extremely relaxing and memorable while this boutique hotel superceded my expectations.

Great breakfast and views

We stayed at Goya for the weekend. It was very beautiful and the breakfast was superb. But the staff was a bit over-zealous / intrusive - constantly asking us where we had been and what we were doing. It was like they wanted to be our concierge but didn't quite know how to do it gently. The location is not excellent as it's a long walk to town. But the shuttle helps. Although, the shuttle should do pick-ups as well as drop-offs! Or, the hotel should offer complimentary bicycles.

Fantastic Experience

It was great, since the beginning the staff was really helpful, they came with us to the nicest area close to the infinity pool in front of the jungle with a welcome cocktail, then while we were having a bath in the pool, they kindly ask us to take professional pictures with the sunset, that sent to me 10 minutos later vía whasap.
Once hour later we also have live music.
The breakfast was delicious, especially the smoothies.

Highlight was the breakfast which was the best we have had in Bali! Good location, everything is in walking distance.

Perfect spot for R&R

Came for three nights of relaxation, reading and cocktails.

Breathtaking view from the pool. Be there for breakfast and watch the jungle light up and come back for sunset to watch the colourful sunset. Or do like we did, and stay there all day.

Staff were friendly, though at times disorganised, particularly so during check-in. Female staff were particularly pleasant.

Rooms were beautifully decorated with spectacular views from the balcony. Try to get a room on the third floor, but take the lift, as the steps down from the pool can get really slippery. Have bruises to show for it. Haha.

Location has great restaurants nearby, and a convenience store and casual eateries within walking distance.

While the pool was lovely, it was very intimate. Wouldn't want it to get too busy, as there are only two sets of sun lounge that have umbrellas, so shade can be a privilege.
All that into consideration, it's definitely worth coming for a bit of tranquility

Wonderful hotel and staff!

I traveled for two weeks throughout Indonesia and this was my favorite hotel that I stayed at. The staff is so wonderful here! I checked in early, was brought up to the pool level for amenities to be explained all while getting a complimentary foot massage and welcome drink - amazing! The infinity pool is just gorgeous! The rooms are also decorated beautifully here and very modern. I had a lower number floor with beautiful gardens. The toiletries are also wonderful here. Breakfasts are made to order and delicious. Short walk into town. Absolutely loved it here!

Nice hotel not too far from city centre in Ubud

There was construction going on in the hotel and on the corridor where our room was- if you want a lie in past 8am- don't count yourself lucky! The walls are paper thin also so you can hear vacuuming going on and room cleaning in other rooms.

The room itself was very large and spacious, very clean, comfortable beds and the balcony we had was great to relax on. The bathtub was also fabulous. The pool was also beautiful!!

Breakfast that was included was very disappointing and average - we didn't eat a lot of it- just ended up with toast and butter to be safe. I would go out to a nearby cafe instead of paying more for breakfast here.

Very confusing about the Bvlgari products-l in the bathroom- it says you need to pay for them on a small flyer but when I called up housekeeping you didnt need to pay additional...

The hotel staff were polite but can be a bit slow and a lot of them are too nervous to speak to you as their English isn't too good, so they go and get other people to speak with you. They were helpful when they understood you. Also No complimentary transport was ever available to drop you to UBUD centre.

I would say this resort is a 3 star service with 4 star facilities.
