Amazing stay! Place was serene and room was clean. The neighborhood was so beautiful too. Breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious.

Staff was friendly and patient. They also anticipated our needs really well. We told them we have a tour starting at 3.30am (before breakfast starts) and they offered to pack breakfast boxes for us without us even asking.

We could also loan umbrellas and broke one, but the staff was kind to not ask for compensation.

Two minor concerns were that the room is not very soundproof and there is a bar nearby that could be somewhat heard into the evening.

I'll start off by saying that the staff made this an exceptional stay.

Nothing was too much trouble, all requests were accepted and in good humour as well. We had a good rapport with everyone during our stay. The were top class.

Being able to communicate requests via Whatsapp made things so much easier than many hotels we have stayed at.

The spa, the in house restaurant, the breakfast buffett, room service, it was all excellent.

This hotel is handily placed right on one of the main roads in Ubud, but the way the hotel is laid out, you would never know.

We had one of the pool villas that was some distance from main reception and the main buildings, but that just added to the exclusive nature of the room.

There were some small elements that make this a four star hotel rather than a five star. There were occasions when the room wasn't cleaned. We also felt it strange that the coffee sachets in the room were from Nescafe, when we'd have hoped they could have been a local speciality. It is those types of little touches that could have meant a five star rating.

Some of the fit & finishings around the pool area could have done with being updated, but I understand that this is a tough weather environment to operate in and that extreme sunshine and heat followed by torrential rain does not make this easy to ensure that the decking is it's best.

But this is nit-picking, if the opportunity came to stay in Ubud once again, we would have no hesitation to stay at KajaNe Mua.

Amazing place to stay!!!

The location of the hotel is in the middle of Ubud. So convenient to walk to the monkey forest, tons of shops, restaurants and bars. They also provide a shuttle to the open market, which I took advantage of especially for pick up at night. I treated myself to the one bedroom with a private pool. It was nothing short of amazing. It was so serene and relaxing. It was clean and every need was anticipated by the amenities available standard in the room. The staff and service was efficient and excellent throughout my four night stay. The breakfast buffet was varied and perfectly satisfying. I did order room service and it was delivered promptly and correctly. I also used the services at the spa, which were excellent. The grounds were well kept and attended to daily. The attention to detail was impressive.
If I have to complain about anything, the location of this particular room was secluded, which meant it was a long walk up and downstairs at the end of the property, but in the end, the exercise was good and well worth the walk to an amazing room.
I highly recommend staying here. I will be recommending it to all my friends and family. And I can’t wait to return.

Beautiful place, located in the centre, within a few mins walk of multiple restaurants, bars, cafes, monkey forest and Ubud Palace - the vibrant heart and hustle and bustle of town.

The villas are located a few mins walk from the entrance to the hotel, into the calm and peaceful forest where the sounds of mopeds and traffic cannot be heard. So you have the best of both worlds!

The villa was great - private pool, outdoor bath, shower and toilet, and the bed is very comfortable with mosquito net.

Staff very attentive, efficient, friendly and approachable, with a WhatsApp messaging service to reception front desk that means whether you’re in the pool or in town, and require something, you do not necessarily need to go to the phone in your room and dial zero, but can access the team remotely. An example of this is if you’re wanting to use the free shuttle for collection in town to avoid the heavy foot and motor traffic, you can WhatsApp to request collection from wherever you are.

Daily complementary afternoon tea served between 3-7pm with cake, and very reasonable breakfast menu that allowed me to skip lunch and enjoy dinner in town at one of the hundreds of local restaurants.

Multiple live music venues within walking distance.

This is the ideal place for those seeking a retreat like venue for relaxation and unwinding, but also enjoy the hustle and bustle of night life and experience of true Balinese culture.

Access not great for elderly/disabled due to multiple steps.

We had an amazing stay right in the middle of Ubud, yet it felt like a jungle resort.

However, it must be mentioned somewhere in the hotel description that there are rooms not suitable for old people or people with disabilities as our, although very nice, had lot of stairs to reach.

We personally had no bad experience, the staff was very welcoming and made our stay a memorable one. The hotel is strongly recommended for a stay in Ubud.

Beautiful boutique hotel. The room we had was wonderfully spacious and luxurious. The bed was so big I could spread out without actually colliding with my husband. Breakfast buffet was different every day and lots of choice. Super fresh eggs and fruit. The Homemade Restaurant also had a huge choice of menu and excellent quality and good choice of cocktails too. The Spa was amazing and really good value for money and I can recommend the hot stone massage.

The service is fantastic as always. This is our third time there already and they always make us feel at home. I was unwell and the staff went out of their way to help me. The complimentary shuttle was very convenient, and the hotel’s location is super central, next to well known eateries. The traffic can be congested to/ fro the airport so do plan ahead and leave early if you are going to the airport.

Kajane Mua has unequivocally become my go-to accommodation in Ubud. This resort prides itself in exceptional cleanliness and provides immaculate guest service. I loved their complimentary afternoon tea, twice daily room cleaning, and presentation of a mosquito coil each night which displayed their remarkable attention to detail. The towels and bedsheets were also impeccably clean. The hot water supply was sufficient to fill my soaking tub, and hands down, I had the best massage at the spa. Without a doubt, I shall choose to stay here again on my next trip to Bali. Every penny spent is worth it.

We enjoyed a wonderful 5 night stay at this fantastic hotel. It was faultless from the moment we were picked up from the airport by Karta who welcomed us with a cold drink and a cool refreshing towel.

The room was immaculate and our private pool area was a lovely quiet oasis.

There was a huge and varied choice for breakfast and we also enjoyed the added bonus of the complimentary afternoon tea each day.

The hotel is in a brilliant location with lots of nearby bars and restaurants, and just a 10 minute walk to the monkey forest one way or Ubud Palace the other way.

The hotel's greatest strength is the staff. They were so welcoming, friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

Can't say enough good things about it. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

KajaNe Mua was the perfect spot for us to spend our Honeymoon time in Ubud! The pools are outstanding, the spa was relaxing & the staff go above and beyond for their guests. Breakfast was outstanding. There was lots to chose from and it prepared quickly yet well. The rooms were large, clean and had great views. It felt like we were nestled away in the jungle but we were actually in the heart of Ubud. We were able to easily walk to Monkey Forest, Art Market and Ubud Palace. Additionally the dining options around the hotel were abundant! I HIGHLY recommend KajaNe Mua to anyone visiting Ubud in Bali.

At first I was hesitant about booking a room here because I didn’t know what was in store for me in Ubud, but I couldn’t have made a better decision. Everything was perfect! The room was clean and spacious, not to mention stylish. The staff was great and were attentive. They always made sure that we had everything we needed and offered to help out every time they had a chance to. The food at there restaurant was good. The spa was also a bonus, I ended up going two times in a row. It was close to the open markets and a ton of good restaurants. My only complaint was with the internet; it was really slow our first 4 nights, but got better after.

I loved my stay here! I'd been to Bali once before and did not love where I stayed- the KajaNe Mua changed my opinion of what Bali accommodations could be! I stayed in a 1 bedroom villa and it had an outdoor soaking tub, and outdoor shower and a private pool and terrace. It felt like my own private slice of paradise! Needless to say, I spent much more time in the room than I thought I would have! Just a heads up for those that might depend on it: the Wifi worked but wasn't super strong.
KajaNe Mua is located in the heart of Ubud, and is easily walkable to anything you want to do. Lots of nearby shopping and restaurants too!

The hotel/resort is first class. I have no hesitation in recommending this destination. It is located close to the heart of Ubud, within walking distance of the markets and the monkey forest. The staff are very helpful - like every Balinese person. I stayed in a villa at the rear of the property and it was glorious. An infinity pool gives a restful view of a coconut grove. It close to the spa but is not overlooked by any buildings. Perfect for skinny dipping. The food is very good as is the restaurant service.

From the moment you arrive, the staff go out of there way to make you feel welcome in this beautiful location.

Our pool villa was stunning; clean, spacious and well appointed. It even came with its own rubber ring for the pool. The room was turned down every evening and a Mossi deterrent lit by the front door.

In a great location on Monkey Forest Road with a free shuttle if you want to go slightly further afield.

We recently visited Ubud for a week, staying most of the visit with my brother who was house sitting a villa north of Ubud. We decided to treat ourselves to an upscale hotel for our last two nights. Our criteria: clean, central location, and a pool. We found two adjacent rooms at a reasonable price on hotels.com. Upon arrival, we were delighted to see our \"rooms\" - which were actually villas, each with it's own private infinity pool, outdoor shower and lounging area, beautiful bedroom, large changing room adjacent to outdoor \"bathroom\" (separate tub, toilet and shower rooms.) Service was excellent; they even let us use a room to shower after checkout since our flight wasn't until late at night. Definitely recommend!

Amazing Hotel with Fabulous Staff

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff were friendly, attentive, and extremely helpful. We were taken straight to our villa through the peaceful green surroundings where the paperwork was completed and our cases were delivered. Shortly thereafter, afternoon tea was delivered to us with iced tea and local delicacies which topped off a wonderful greeting.

The view from the villa looked over the private pool to a nearby rice terrace with nobody else in sight. We were set far enough back from the main road in Ubud that we heard no disturbances from the busy traffic.

We enjoyed afternoon tea every day, with each day bringing a different selection of tasty treats. Breakfast was a great selection of foods with the marvellous Indonesian staple of Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng being proudly available.

Throughout the stay, the staff were wonderful doing everything from taking our postcards to the post office for us to arranging transport and even driving us to the airport themselves.

The room was cleaned twice per day and was in excellent condition!

We plan to go back to Bali next year, and if we end up staying in Ubud, we'll almost certainly stay at KajaNe again!

Good location, old building, weird design

Quite convenient location and comfort but no light at all at night of our house area. I nearly fell. Building is quite old. Weird design in the bathroom as the floor has 3 levels, need to be very careful for not stepping into the holes, no way for a drunk guest to enjoy the bathroom as two bars are just at the entrance of the hotel.

Great place to stay!

I contacted the hotel about an early check in time. They informed me they could not grantee our room would be ready early but they would hold our bags if needed. I was happily surprised when we arrived our room was ready at noon. They also added lovely flowers for our honeymoon.
The room and grounds were well kept. We had upgraded to one of the smaller villas near the front of the grounds, and it was certainly worth the money. The breakfast was hot and very tasty. Afternoon tea was a nice added touch. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. It is located perfectly between the Palace and Monkey Forest, both are easily walkable.
I would highly recommended!

The hotel was excellent overall and the staff was exceptional. The location was right in the middle of the city center but the property was large enough that you felt like you were in a jungle instead of downtown. They have a beautiful property with a river, small terraces, and lots of greenery. The staff did everything they could to make my stay special and comfortable. They upgraded me to a nicer room after I asked to be moved due to the construction noise. They were very accommodating and speedy to meet the request. I fell and scrapped my leg while I was on holiday but they made sure I was fixed up with their first aid kit. Because I was a returned guest, they greeted me with a \"welcome home\" sign in my room and made me a complimentary flower bath in my tub. Among the amenities were complimentary DVDs, books, and bicycles to borrow. I had a great experience with their spa and got a really lovely massage in what felt like a tree house.

Great location in Ubud, Helpful staff

This was a great hotel and the service was impeccable. Perks: free area shuttle that would drop us off and pick us up to any location in Ubud, reliable wifi, spacious rooms, great bathroom, airport shuttle for an additional cost. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be within walking distance of great sites in Ubud.

Wonderful staff, very nice facilities

My wife and I picked this hotel based on Expedia reviews. Had a concern that it was too far from town, but that proved not to be the case. Lovely hotel with an amazing staff, who frequently checked to see if we needed anything at all. Very nice restaurant, excellent breakfast and dinner. Rooms are spacious and bright. Ours opened onto our patio and then directly into the pool. Our only concern was that the sliding doors did not fully seal even when looked. The small space between them was large enough for mosquitos to enter. The doors should have a rubber seal to prevent that.

The hotel provies a wonderful free car service for clasees and more distant restaurants.

Our biggest regret w a s that we didn't stay longer in Ubud and at the KajaNe Mua. We highly rscomend and would happily return.

Good hotel in great position

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
Great staff that are not intrusive, hotel has a relaxed feeling.
We stayed in a superior room which led out directly to the pool, room and bathroom were large and well equipped.
Breakfast was included and had a large range of set menus to choose from, food was good and service prompt.
Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel central location

The hotel was perfect for our stay in Ubud. Moments from Monkey Forest, shops, bars, restaurants. Hotel provides free transport (drop off and pick up) around central Ubud - we used this service quite a lot to get to Yoga Barn in the evenings. We had dinner in the restaurant a couple of times (good food/service) however there are lots of great places to eat and drink around Ubud and all within walking distance from hotel. There is a live music venue across the road so some may find the music gets loud between 9pm -1pm, it didn't bother us but can interrupt your dinner, would suggest early supper.

Cleaning and maintenance needs improvement.

Restaurant, bar staff and drivers were amazing. Business and gym facilities left a lot to be desired. The room cleanliness wasn't great. There are signs of water damage throughout the building. The bathrooms have a funny smell (304 & 305) damp mainly. The cleaning is not thorough. There was mould growing in all corners of the shower, grime around the bath and under the vanity. You can just see that the hard to reach areas (not that hard but you might need to bend) were not attended to. Our rooms had a covered balcony and looked over tin roofing. The slippers we were given had clearly been used which I think is unsanitary and would never wear. All other aspects were satisfactory.

Like going home on this our third time.

Third time there. It's like going home. For us a lovely hotel with with friendly staff. The position is great on monkey Forrest road. We stayed in the mansion again this year. Meals are good with an elevated view of the street life as you dine. The common pool is good. They provide a transport service anywhere within Ubud. Anything that might come up is attended too straightaway.

Beautiful hotel and centrally located

Perfectly positioned on Monkey Forest Rd and short walk to everything including great restaurants, bars, spas and shopping. Hotel is surrounded by lush forest and near a small river at the end of the property. Staff were excellent. friendly, knowledgeable and could not do enough for you. I was upgraded to a villa with private pool and balcony. Breakfast was the best I've experienced in Bali. Highly recommended.

Good hotel close to centre of Ubud

We had a 3 day stay and loved the close proximity to the centre of Ubud. The hotel also offers drop off and pickup free of charge to restaurants or other closeby amenities. Although you might be faster on foot due to traffic jams an air-conditioned shuttel can't be beaten in warm and humid weather!

Great hotel BUT one big problem,
Room said was suitable for 2 adulta and one child.
When arrived I was told I had to pay $40 extra for childs bed per nigyt.

Amazing hotel in great location!

Pros:
Staff - friendly, ready to help, always had smiles on
Room - clean, beautiful
Free afternoon tea - free tea and snack every day in the afternoon
Breakfast - yummy and large breakfast spread
Location - in the heart of Ubud, walkable to a lot of places but still QUIET in the room
Honeymoon welcome - beautiful and romantic welcome for our honeymoon

Cons:
Wish they had better breakfast to go - we had to leave early for a day trip and the kitchen wasn't open yet so we just got bread and fruit for breakfast instead of the whole yummy spread. Guess we were spoiled with the regular breakfast so we were disappointed that wasn't available to us but they really tried!

Memorable stay at KajaNe Mua

We stayed at the KajaNe Mua for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I think the hotel can improve upon their beds. The bed in our room was composed of two twin sized beds instead of one king size bed which was not a big problem but something that can be improved upon. But nevertheless, we enjoyed the hospitality, the food, the swimming pool and the overall ambience of the hotel and would definitely stay here again if we are back in Ubud.

Hotel is located right at the heart of Ubud. Staff were very friendly and are always ready to help! Very impressed by their good service we could not ask for more!

Friendly staff and awesome service

Friendly staffs who were extremely patient with our requests. We celebrated a birthday and the hotel surprised us with a free dessert and well-wishes board. They also provided individual shuttle around Ubud town (pick-up included) which was a plus point. Will definitely stay here again when we revisit!

I have stayed before and loved it so decided to stay again. This time was good but unfortunately we were put in the room right next to the Warung (cafe). It sounded like the people were right inside our room. I would stay again but would make sure I'm not in that room again.

Fantastic, quiet hotel in central Ubud!\n

We booked a standard room which was nice but didn't have a balcony. So we asked if we could change the next day to a superior room with balcony. Cost us $25usd extra a night but well worth it. The view was amazing! We were on the 4th floor, overlooking the pool and it was about 60 steps up and down each time. Good to work off all that food and Bintang!

A very comfortable stay in the heart of Ubud

A central location, but peaceful, quiet and elegant. Large, well-appointed rooms. I enjoyed my stay very much. Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, Ridge Walk and Rice Field Walks all accessible on foot.
