The accommodation was unique and tranquil - 2 swimming pools! The staff were friendly and professional. A one-on-one cooking lesson was great fun and value for money. Looked after beautifully. Transport needed to markets but easy to manage. Good dining options and spa options near by. Amazing value for money. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had a regular hotel room on the second floor. It was very large and clean, and the bed was decently soft. The only issue I had with the Room is that it was difficult to get in and out of the tub as it was raised quite high.
The he area is close to lots of amenities and very walkable and quiet with absolute gorgeous scenery. There are two pools available. Everything is built on the side of a hill, so there is lots of steps. so as long as you were able to walk up and down steps, there is no issues. The bottom pool is absolutely gorgeous. However, there was quite a few ants on the chairs that we kept having to clear off or spray away from us, otherwise our day was really great and I would recommend staying here again.

I checked in for 2 nights and was placed in a damp, mouldy room, far from reception. As I arrived very late and tired, it was too late to change rooms. I was in a room that stank of damp and mould. It probably hadn't been aired for weeks. The bedding was damp and the aircon didn't work. The next day I complained and asked to switch to a non-moldy room. I was promised a call back, which never came. As I was staying a total of 2 nights and had heavy luggage, I decided to endure for a final night. The room was about 5 flights of steep stairs down a valley and I didn't fancy lugging a 25kg suitcase for the sake of 1 night. A real shame as the photos make this place look like a relaxing oasis.

The property was clean and the staff were amazing. Just would have liked a do not disturb sign on the door outside the room as the cleaners used to disturb you at really early hours in the morning so if you wanted a lie in then there was no way of telling them to not disturb you.

Very quiret hotel in Ubud, away from crowded streets, and yet very near center and Monkey Forrest.
The Joglo villa with pool view has the most beautiful wiew and you wake up to the sound of birds and animals.

Absolutely breathtaking! We stayed with our 18 month old daughter and the staff were fantastic with her, a super big thank you to Manik, who entertained our lil girl and showered her with affection.
This property is steep but stunning. The villas are a ways down the hill and is a bit of a hike to get up to the roads, the rooms however are located at the rop of the property, above the top pool.z

Villas were lovely. Well located on Bisma street just off the main streets in Ubud. Lots of nearby bars and restaurants, with the property set down a lane which meant it was very quite at the Hotel itself.

Breakfast was good in a buffet style with a mix of western and local foods. and the staff treated us like royalty. Really pleased we chose Pertiwi Bisma.

They do however need a bit of maintenance as there were a few issues with the curtain rail not being well secured and a few other bits looking like it could do with a refresh.

The food at the restaurant was tasteless, and it took 1h for them to prepare 2 eggs with toasts and there was only 1 more table with us with 5 people. There were only a few chairs at the pool, but not enough. When we arrived the first room smelled mold a lot, but they changed us to the second floor although was a little better was still humid, with mold on the walls and the air-conditioning wasn't working properly. Neither the phone was working to call the reception, so every time I needed something I had to go to the reception to ask. The staff was kind, but the cleaning room was reasonable only.

Happy, friendly staff at the most beautiful property possible.
The location is ideal for walking around Ubud. Easy access to the part of Ubud and the Monkey Forest.
But the staff make the stay at Pertiwi Bisma 1 absolutely perfect!

I liked the friendly staff, and there many negatives to list in the review. A few to mention, the incredibly dangerous and steep walk to my room was unlike any place I have stayed (61 countries). The stairs were slippery and no rails were offered. The wifi was essentially not functional and made it impossible to check email. No telephone in the room. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and poor quality. The patio door would not close. The bathroom light was not working and had to demand its repair so I could shave. I cannot in good conscience submit anything beyond 2 stars. I will never return.

We didn’t actually stay in the end...

When we checked in and shown to our room, the bathroom wasn’t great at all. It was just very dirty, we went to the reception who were very helpful. They shown us another room, which wasn’t much better and after a while, we managed to move to their sister hotel - Pertiwi Bisma Resort and Spa - which was an absolute dream! Couldn’t recommend that hotel enough. Really clean, massive room, beautiful setting and the pools were incredible!

Good place if you want to spend a couple of days and I would recommend the breakfast. The pools are also great. However, we had a few problems e.g. ant problem, wifi problem, and a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom one day (and no water). It was also on a very rough road. If you don't like stairs don't go here!

The staff here are excellent. They go above and beyond to please the guest. We had some WiFi and A/C issues that were quickly addressed and fixed. My only note is the shower didn’t drain well so you are standing in dirty bath water when taking a shower.

I stay there for 1 week.
Staff is really friendly and helpful.
The room was bigger and better (bed, linen, tv...) than what I expected for the price, because as I mentioned, the relation between quality and price is really good.
I did not book breakfast, I paid my breakfast when I got there, but totally worth it.
Most of the nights i had dinner in, and the food was delicious.

A number of days into our stay of twelve days, a circumstance arose through no fault of the hotel which dictated that we would have to move. The management pulled out all the stops and put us in a more expensive room at no cost to ourselves allowing us to enjoy the remainder of our stay. Hotel staff went the extra mile at every occasion.

I have called the hotel 2 days before as I wanted to book in one night earlier. The staff member on the phone said that there is a room available and if I could send them an email. Unfortunately when we arrived the room was not available and we were transferred to Pertiwi Bisma Resort and Spa. We then checked in to Pertiwi Bisma 1 the next day. I was asking for a bottle opener as we had our water in glass bottles with no screw top. It took more than an hour to get one. The bed and linen had an unpleasant smell and we had a cockroach in our room. When I was booking there were pictures of Yoga taking place at this hotel, this is not the case anymore though. I was disappointed as this was one of the reasons I booked this hotel in the first place. Overall not a great experience.

Great hotel in Ubud

our accommodation was excellent with great views of the hotel grounds and surrounding area.We were on the top floor with a balcony. It was in walking distance to the Monkey Forest (5 minutes) and to other tourist spots. Night life was good. It was Monsoon weather and it rained around 3 pm most days but was still very enjoyable.Everyone was very welcoming and our breakfast was excellent with plenty of food. We will be returning.

Very scenic hotel

We stayed at the Pertiwi Bisma 1 for a couple of nights in the pool villa rooms overlooking the infinity pool and lush ravine. It was beautiful and a very romantic setting and for a getaway I think it was lovely. There is a cut through to Monkey Forrest rd through the Pertiwi hotel but this also includes some pretty step terraine, so not ideal if you want to be close and in easy access of the centre of Ubud.

Breakfasts are buffet style and very ordinary (I chose not to eat here even though included in the stay). I have read other similar reviews so surprised the hotel hasn't corrected this. I tried a pancake and had to spit it out as it was like cold play dough. For the amount of guests they need to have individual cooked breakfasts for guests of a better quality.

We had to get them to check our air conditioning as the room was unbearable to be in. Apparently the exhaust fan in the bathroom was making it not work properly. It was bearable when this was turned off, but it really needs a air con with higher capacity.

TV is mainly Indonesian channels, satellite TV with more channels would have been nice.

Be warned, I have stayed at other Ubud hotels with steps but these ones are severe!! It is workout to get to the lobby from our villa.

The hotel lobby was beautiful, the staff was very friendly but our room left a lot to be desired. The room itself was average but the bathroom was horrible. The grout was black from mold and the sink leaked, so the floor and walls were also moldy. The toilet and bathtub were not very clean either. the location was not so bad but the taxi drivers had a hard time finding it.

Pertiwi Bisma was a lovely stay for us. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The two infinity pools just spectacular. Breakfast was very nice. The rooms are a bit dated and there is about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Ubud but all in all it was great!

Worth the price

The pools are as good as they look in the pictures. Facing west, so great for sunsets. We got an apartment room, which unfortunately did not have a good view of the sunset (it just faces the opposite apartment building). Only the end apartment rooms have views of the sunset.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. No complaints there.

I only have 2 grievances:
1) I could not contact them via any of there email addresses or their facebook page. I wanted to confirm my reservation but no one ever replied to me.
2) The installation of their bathtub is flawed, causing a great amount of shower water to leak onto the bathroom floor. I could not figure out a workaround to the problem.

Overall, for the price I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel with amazing infinity pools

This hotel, despite being a little bit away from the main central area is great. It's nice and quiet, the two infinity pools are incredible and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff here were incredibly friendly and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The one downside was the food; the breakfast in the mornings was a bit disappointing in the sense that the pastries and bread were constantly covered in bugs and the fruit platter was often near empty. For being a free included breakfast definitely can't complain however if it's not included definitely don't waste your money! Other than this, one of my favourite hotels from our SE Asia trip!

great hotel, but read the reviews

hotel is absolutely amazing. the lower infinity pool against the jungle at night is a great place to watch fireflies and bats while relaxing with a cold bintang.

For me, it was close enough to everything in ubud. There are hotels in the middle of town, but honestly, the quiet tranquility of bisma street is worth the extra walk.

Downsides:
Staff couldnt help arrange sightseeing (i had a driver on standby so it was sorta okay)
Lots of stairs, the garden suites where I was staying are close to the main facilities, but the villas and valley view suites involve a bit of a trek down the hill.. There was one day that I was too tired to make the trek down to the pool after a day of walking. So if you're older or have bad joints, you might want to consider a different hotel.

This hotel is great and the staff were super friendly, As long as you're okay the small downsides i've mentioned, you are getting an amazing value for your money.

I stayed there 3 nights, nice staff, very helpful! Good location, loved both pools, very relaxing. The food on menu was good, I wasn't crazy about breakfast selection but was good enough to start the day. Adapters for US electronics would be nice if they had some, also the wifi was alright could be much better, I had to keep moving around , and maybe if they supplied bug spray because there were just so many bugs.. Or even if they sold some at the counter.. Would be great. Other then that, I enjoyed the hotel and staff was great. Please get rid of the mouse that is around.. He made his way in our room twice. I would recommend this Hotel.

Good atmosphere but a little out of the way

This is a lovely hotel, we stayed here for 3 days but renamed it Bisma bootcamp.
Our room was located at the furtherest distance from the hotel lobby, this wasn't an issue but be prepared for the stairs!
Luckily we had to pass the two beautiful infinity pools along the way to the top. Our room overlooked the forest and was extremely peaceful.
The hotel was a little out of the way if you are on foot and the walk home late at night was a little daunting for 2 women. Much easier if you are on a scooter.
Best to go in to town for food, the breakfast was pretty basic and no bananas available for desert despite being able to almost grab them ourselves from our balcony.
The room and bathroom was large and good air conditioning. Shower could do with a scrub but I have seen a lot worse.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere to relax by the beautiful pool.

The route to hotel bit rough and narrow but not really affected our stay in pertiwi bisma 1, but rather clean,friendly staff, nice baliness style room, low density(approx 20rooms) and reasonable price. Good stay for those enjoy quiet stay.

Not what we expected !!

Appalling. Didn't actually stay. Booking was for a room with a double bed and 2 single beds. They kept us waiting for some time before showing us to a small room with 2 single beds and a roll away bed. Roll away bed collapsed when I sat on it as it was on bricks. We refused to stay given we were being charged for a room they would not provide.

I found the staff to be pleasant and helpful if at times some where difficult to understand.

The breakfast was not up to standard, the hot food was often cold and some of it not fresh. The kitchen in the evening was not available due to the few guests at the beginning of our stay but that improved as more guest arrived. We ate out most of the time.

Our room was supposed to be a double bedroom but the bed was made up of 2 single mattresses on a double bed which we found uncomfortable. The mattresses kept moving. We didn't ask to be moved because we liked the view from our balcony looking out at the pool. I did mention it to one of the staff when we were leaving.

The view from the main pool and villa is fabulous. The atmosphere and the quietness is the exactly what we expected for the stay in Ubud. As it is too busy and noisy at the main streets of Ubud, jalan Bisma is A good choice to stay and walk-around.
Only thing to note is maintenance of the room such as bathroom should be done in better way.

Rather than that we were happy to stay.
