We had asked prior to our check in about bag storage, which was confirmed. As we arrived, we noticed no one was at the front but there was a sign to check in with a form, which was not provided. Not knowing what to do, we followed a vacuuming noise to ask for assistance, but the staff member was just not pleasant to interact with. In total, we encountered two staff members during our time here, one was kind and the other... not so much.

There was a noticeable smell walking into the elevators and rooms. Bathroom was not clean and the tub would not drain, it would get clogged within 10 seconds of us turning on the faucet. The toilets also made such a loud and long noise (>1-2 minutes every time we flushed). We brought up the draining issue to the staff members, thought they had taken care of it, but after we came back from a long day, it was never resolved. The other two mornings, (9-10AM) we were about to start our day and went down to the front to ask for assistance again with the tub but there was no one so we gave up on asking them.

The hotel is fine if you do not intend to spend a lot of time here. But for someone who looks forward to a nice shower after walking a long day, I would look for a hotel that does not have plumbing issues. And are pleasant to speak to the whole time...

If you’re looking for a place just to sleep and be out the whole day then this is the perfect spot in shinjuku for an affordable price. Metro is super close and there are a lot of places to eat and shop around the area.

The hotel is ok, it is conveniently located near shops and train station. The facilities are not that good and I think the room is small for a group of 6 people, max per room I think is 3 persons. No english speaking hotel employees which is quite an issue if the guest has no knowledge of the local language.

Great location! We made good use of our JR Pass while staying here. The room had everything we needed, was clean and in good condition.

The only negative thing I have to say were that immediately outside the hotel door is a favourite smoking spot, so it's the first and last thing you smell each day.

We didn't enjoy staying here unfortunately. It was a budget hotel so you can't redirect much. Bathroom was really not good, needed a good scrub and update. Futons were really thin and we all got sore hips, backs and shoulders. Felt like we were lying directly on the floor. On the plus side, area around is great for cosmetics shopping and close to shibuya.

Very convenient location, as it’s a short walk from Shin-Okubo station (one stop away from Shinjuku Station), and surrounded by many restaurants and a few grocery stores. Seems to have a concentration of Chinese/Korean restaurants.
Hotel rooms themselves are pretty aged/shabby, not a pretty stay but everything works (reliable air-con, which was particularly important for summer). We didn’t spend much time in the hotel anyway so it wasn’t a big deal.
TL;DR: slightly shabby hotel, recommended for the traveller that values convenience/value, who spends most of their time out anyway!

I'd recommend this hotel to adults not those with small children since you would have to put the futons out for sleeping and remove them when not sleeping if you desire

pros: friendly staff, location convenient to everything - train station/restaurants/shinjuku/k-town, relatively clean, working AC, daily new towels, hair dryer, working kitchen including utensils, plates, pots, pans, water boiler, burner, etc, toothbrushes, even a vacuum cleaner

cons: covers and futons with no bedsheets (seem clean though), toilet seat unstable, bit dusty for us with allergies and AC wasn't filtering things well (maybe filter not changed often; just after an hour of charging my phone, I could see all the dust on its display), walls/doors are thin I could hear the voice of neighbors in their bathroom or hallway - pretty common elsewhere though so it's pretty average hotel

Amazing for its price

My friend and I stayed here during our vacation in Tokyo. The place was great for its price and we had no issues with it.

The staff at the front desk mostly spoke English, so check-in/check-out and other inquiries were easily handled. The whole place is clean as you're supposed to take off your shoes and place them in a shoe locker at the entrance, which ensures the whole hotel stays shiny.

The room was decent in size, with the bathroom being the only letdown. There was no place to change in there, but otherwise it was fine. It was a small bathroom with just enough room to do your business and shower/take a bath. For the price point, it was a nice luxury to have your own personal bathroom.

The sleeping itself was also pleasant. The room is a tatami room, so you sleep on a futon on the floor. Zero issues, it was comfortable and easy to put away.

The room also had some great luxuries. Personal kitchen for simple cooking, an aircon, a fridge, a kitchen sink, a microwave, hair dryer, etc. The extras more than made enough for any other shortcomings about the room and made the stay very pleasant.

Overall, this was a great hotel and if I'm ever in need of staying in downtown Tokyo again, I would choose this place.

I loved the tatami flooring and the futons were comfortable. Very quiet and in such a great location. Food and the train station were only a short walk away. Decor may be outdated and floors slightly stained if that matters to you, but I enjoyed my stay regardless. Microwave, stove, electric kettle, and small dishes were provided. It had everything my group and I needed.

Door lock is just a regular small key that anyone can break in. It's in Japan, so maybe you don't have to worry about it so much, but I didn't feel safe there. I locked up my valuables in my suits case with a key while we were away.
I don't think we can call this place \"Hotel\". It's more like inn.

This hotel is basic, but that doesn't mean it's a bad choice. The location is very close to a Yamanote line station, and lots of restaurants and convenience stores. Front desk staff were friendly. The room is a bit worn, but not dirty. You sleep on a futon matress on the floor. The bathroom is very small. I would definitely stay again, as a place to save money if im not spending a lot of time in the hotel.

Be advised: this property is best suited for people on a strict budget, who travel light and don't mind being uncomfortable. The photos posted in Orbitz were probably taken when the hotel was first built or renovated; the room, while clean and functional, did not look as nice as it did in the photos. The futons and pillows aren't particularly thick. The towels were thin and worn through (and I think they were air dried because they were pretty rough). I could have happily written all of that off but for the hotel policy that air conditioners had to be turned off when we left the room. The air conditioner itself was quite old and it took an hour to cool the room (which was already small). We were visiting Tokyo during one of its hottest weeks (upper 90s w/humidity in the 80s) and it was tough coming back to a hot stifling room and having to wait almost an hour for it to cool down enough to where we could all sleep. We tried to leave it on the first day while we went out; a staff member came in to leave clean towels and turned it off. We had to buy a cheap fan just to help with the air flow. If you need an inexpensive place to store luggage and sleep, it works; however, I wouldn't stay there again.

This place was a reasonable stop for the price. However, they are *not* there 24-7; they disappeared in the early morning hours, even though I was trying to reach them (around 7-8am). Also, the freezer did not work. The area is a bit seedy, and a lot of people ignored laws about smoking etc., unlike other parts of Japan I have stayed / lived. Not a deal breaker, but good to know.

Grateful that we were allowed to check in an hour early. The futon on tatami floor wasn’t so bad. Location is great- so close to JR Shin Okubo train station & lots of restaurants & shops, including Don Quijote which is open 24 hrs & 7-11. It has a stove if you want to cook but we did not use it. Ample space for us to sleep & our luggages.

Only drawback is that we have to carry our heavy luggages to our room as they did not allow us to roll them on the wooden floor. Also, front door was hard to lock from the outside.

Overall, it was a good one night stay for us family of 5.

We had stayed at Hanabi hotel for 3 night. The location near okubo and shin okubo station but a little hard to find this hotel. I had stayed with my family 2 adults, 1 teenage, 2 boys in a room for 5 people. The size of the room is at decent size. But the bath room is very small.

What is a Japanese hotel without the bidet toilet? We expect the room to be small but this is really too tiny. We have to make our own futons. The pillows were too thin for comfort. Also the tatami mat kept fraying and the bits stuck on our clothes. The WiFi is also weak. For similar price, we could have booked 2 hotel rooms nearby. Will not be staying there again.

This is expensive based on the room and its amenities. Guests are required to carry bags and not roll their baggages on the floor. The fulton beds were not ready and one has to make their own bed. Before checking out snd leave, guests are required to clean up & vacuum, otherwise there will ne a cleaning charge.
