The Best Hotel is a unique place. Built in the heyday of the Turkish Republic in the '50s-'60s and across the street from the American and Soviet embassies, the Best was at the center of international politics and society. It still retains that charm, even though the Ankara scene has shifted. It is a proud reminder of the past but retains its elegance. The staff is superb, the food and service is great, and it is very fairly priced. If you are genuinely interested in Turkiye and Ankara, it is a great place to be.

Very old and poor. Okey it is cheap but really old.
The staff is polite and friendly

I chose this hotel just because I thought it was opposite the American Consulate. But they moved to another address.

No umbrellas in this hotel

Breakfast is also not perfect

This is my third time staying at this property . First time was in 1998, next in 2020 and now. The physical condition of the property has deteriorated and the rooms show their age, although still pretend to appear chic. The problem is that things are broken down or just not clean. The AC doesn’t work. The bathroom pipes are rusty and the door hard to close. No iron at the property! Breakfast choices are very limited and not so good. On the flip side, the staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to help. Thank you.

The building is very old and they didn't remodel or refurnish it. You see dirty spots in every corner. I got the suit and it was tribble, the shower area was full of mold. I don't know how they are still open. Don't waste your time and money and look for another place to stay.

It was nice hotel but all is very old. I think no any investment after 2000. But it was ok for me. The thing that I could not understand is that they did not put kettle inside room. How is it possible ? It is maximum 20-30$ and no need to do special electric isolation. I hope they can put kettle all rooms and others can not have problem like me.

We reserved two rooms in Best hotel for three nights. Overall the hotel is very old style, everything from entrance to restaurant to rooms are outdated. The rooms still have regular keys which I had not seen in hotels for many years. If you like modern hotel, this is definitely not your choice. However, everything was very clean, the internet speed was really good, and the staff were all very responsive and respectful. The breakfast was good and food was mediocre.

My wife stayed at hotel for 50 days best thanks to a visa dilemma we were facing . The staff were most helpful and friendly, the hotel was perfectly located in Chankaya , and the amenities were good . Highly recommended !

We stayed in this hotel during our immigration visa interview in USA Embassy
Location is perfect - just infront of. There are also Russian and Germany Embassies.
Breakfast was excellent.

My review I will start not from the cleaning things or how awesome breakfast and restaurant in the hotel are. But from that what amazing super heroes work in Hotel Best.

My stay in the hotel was supposed to be short as I came just to get my US visa. Good thing happened - my visa was approved, but the attemp to take my passport back reminded a horror movie. Fortunately it had a happy end only thanks to the real 5 star staff of the hotel. They managed to find the place where the passport was, they spent hours on the phone trying to get any information about how to pick it up. They found taxi drivers who not only took me to the different post offices but also spent their time with in those places speaking Turkish with the stuff and trying to know any details.

The situation lasted for several days and I didn't have to remind about it to them, the fantastically controlled the situation sending the information carefully to each other.

I am giving this hotel 100 points out of 100. Because all the other things were on a very high level there too. Very nice and cosy restaurant with diverse food, comfortable gym. Cleaning ladies were changing the bedsheets every two days and my room was always very clean thanks to them.

The hotel is in a very central location and easy to access. Although it's a 4 star hotel, hotel needs a renovation to update some of it's features into today's standart. Beds, floor are example to those. Breakfast is a bit weak for a 4 star hotel.

First of this hotel is the best if you are in a business trip or visiting Embassy’s at Ankara. This is actually a unique Hotel and had a very distinct history for Ankara. Clean, very fiendly and very special staff. Yes you can say that hotel need maybe some updates but honestly none of them bothers you at all.
They have a very nice restaurant, one of the best , fresh and real Turkish breakfast which we have been in live with it. You feel like you are in a special place , like a home . It is a very unique hotel. Very safe. I think all staff have been working there since the opening but they are all very professional and let you feel special. You can sit in the lobby amd order a nice Turkish tea or coffea . This is not may be the most luxurious hotel in town and please donot look for it. But i feel very special in there and whenever I stay in there I feel very special.

Convenient Hotel

If you are looking for any place which is close to US Embassy or Kizilay, Cankaya, this is the one of the best places you can think about. The staffs are so nice and friendly. I strongly recommend.

A Must Do

Very friendly and warm atmosphere. The location is very convenient. Right across the street from the American consulate. And it's 5 min walking distance to any major road.Really liked it. I booked it for my dad for the first day. And I arrived the second day and we both felt welcoming of the staff. I am actually booking the second stay at the same location.

A/C didnt work, no blinds = bad nights sleep

The hotel was in a convenient location for me, but next time I will spend the extra money and a little further away. The air conditioning was not on when I checked in, and despite being turned on the whole night, the room was still uncomfortably warm. There were no blinds on the windows, so the early morning sun shone through very bright. Thus, I did not get a good night's sleep and was not well rested for my business meeting the next morning. I was also not able to get a receipt in the morning, which I need for my expense account. The four star rating the hotel advertises is not deserved.

Only good thing was the location

We booked this hotel because of its location (very close to the American Embassy). The hotel itself is disappointing. It's old and in need of renovation. The room was not comfortable, on the smaller side and didn't feel very clean.

Dated Hotel - But Very Good Location And Service

Very dated bathroom and décor in room, but all were clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Did not eat in hotel restaurant, but can say that breakfast by Turkish standards was poor. Very good location.

Reasonable stay for no longer than a week

I traveled from the US and stayed at this hotel with my elderly mom for her US immigration process.

The Bad:
-For two people staying in their two-twin-bed room, the space was a bit tight, at least by the US standards. Moving around in the room became more of a conscious exercise than a natural activity. This was particularly due to not enough room to stow away luggage (small closets are too small).
-The room functionality was poor, with minimal space dedicated to unpack the suitcase contents.
-The bathroom design in our room was poor, with the hand towel hanger being right over the toilet paper dispenser.
-The cleaning of the room had a variable quality.
-The staff was great and accommodating.
-The gym is completely unkempt. What works is a couple of old treadmills, although they still do the job. Elliptical is not electric. Weights are sporadic. No working bench. No windows. There is no regular maintenance, water cooler is off, and the broken parts are not fixed.

The Good:
-Breakfast items and location was great.
-Internet access was reliable and free.
-Location of the hotel is very good, although not exclusively so.There are close by shopping, numerous eateries, and a couple of mom-and-pop groceries (for fruits, water, etc).

Overall:
I'll be ok returning to this hotel, but very likely would start with looking at the other options, even for the same purpose. There are a lot of other options with more space and as good of a service and location, as I learned later.

Good hotel for everyone

I very much like the hotel's location as it is a walking distance to almost every important transactions I had attended. I'ts even a convenient place of worship right there which has been a very delightful surprise for me! I also found the staffs very helpful, pleasing and accommodating. WONDERFUL!

I booked this for my Sister from Iran were she came for a visa interview at Us embassy, she did not speak English or Turkish, however the staff were kind and accommodating I was told.
