Great apartment and location. Very close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. 10 min. walking to the bus stop to go to Heraklion or airport. Recommend to stay.

We loved our stay at Ourania Apartments. Service was great, staff were super friendly and helpful. The apartments we stayed in were slightly older but still fine. We had a lovely big balcony which was amazing. I think there are also newer apartments in the same complex which look much more modern which would be ideal for our next stay. The apartments are only a short walk from the beach and restaurants so location was perfect! Couldnt have been happier in terms of value for money - couldnt believe how little we paid for 5 nights! I would recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ourania Apartments. The complex is very picturesque with a beautiful pool, the staff are lovely and extremely hospitable, the location is perfect (being less than 5 minuets from the beach and wonderful restaurants), and we especially loved the wild cats that roamed the area. The apartments themselves, although are very basic and fairly bare, are kept very clean and bedsheets and towels are replaced regularly, and have all the basic necessities for comfortable living. There is no real faulting Ourania — although I would say for future guests — be wary of hidden fees for things that seemed to be advertised as included but in fact come at a cost i.e air conditioning, safe, etc.

Great family spot. Big rooms for Europe

It was perfect for a family of 5. The price was right. The staff was always there when we needed anything. Plus they had security at night, but you didn’t feel as if you needed it.

Room was a bit on the small size in the living area with only 2 ring elec hob for cooking (studio appts very cramped) but an ideal base when only really using room for sleeping. Rest of complex was good inc bar/catering, staff excellent and reasonable choice of bars and eating places within 15 mins walk (as was the beach). Pool area was big enough for us when going out of season

Charming hamlet

The hotel consists of an enclosed compound with about two dozen individual apartments arranged around a few courtyards and laneways. It really feels like a charming, immaculately kept hamlet.

It is also great value, but be aware that air conditioning is an extra 6 Euros per day. WiFi is free at the pool and bar, but that also costs extra to have in your room.

The complex does not have a private beach front. You stroll about 5 minutes along a country lane to get to a small but charming beach with beautiful surf. It feels like the Greek version of visiting my grand mother's place. It also felt "authentically" Greek, at least relative to the image of a charming Greek village in my mind's eye.

Lovely apartment close to the beach.

Apartment good for a short stay. Nearby tavernas, Island bar the best. The area of Gouves not great, you need a car. Buses go past but if they are full you have to wait 30 mins+ for the chance of another that also maybe full.

Very Nice

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Ourania Apartments. The apartments are set well back from the main road from Heraklion and close to beaches, small shops. supermarkets, restaurants, car hire etc. Well kept gardens. Nice to find a kettle and toaster at the apartments. Requested not to use tap water in the kettle etc so required to buy bottled water but very cheap at local supermarkets. No hairdryer, cloth, tea towel or washing up liquid in the apartment but soap in the bathroom. Milos restaurant is very good (only complaint - portions too big). Bus stop 13 on main road in walking distance - easy to travel to and from airport, to Heraklion town, to Hersonissos and bus available from Heraklion Bus Garage to visit ancient Minoan ruins at Knossos. Breakfast available at the bar cafe and salads till early afternoon (both very good). Timing of our stay was nearing the end of the season and the local shops were very quiet/some had closed down already but still 'all happening' in Hersonissos and Heraklion shopping areas. Would recommend staying at Ourania Apartments.

Pleasant Apartments. Nicely laid out.

Gardens, swimming pool area, bar area and rooms kept very clean. Bed linen and towels changed very frequently. Roads around are rough but not far to bus stop, sea front and shops and tavernas. Everyone very friendly. Car parking. Free WiFi. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel near the beach, pity the room is drab

Suites are nicely set out, in a villa-like arrangement, and the pool area is nice. Sadly, there is no internet in the room, and though it has a kitchenette and sitting area, the layout is uninspiring and there are nearly no decorative touches, giving the place a drab feel.

No shower curtain so the whole bathroom gets wet when you shower, a pet peeve of mine.

Still, the price was excellent and it technically is a suite with kitchenette, so if you don't need internet in the room it could be a great deal.

Good value hotel 10 mins from the beach and from bars and restaurants in Kato Gouves. Friendly staff, pool bar with good access to wifi. Always clean and pleasant and quiet by the pool.

Quiet apartments, decent size with separate bedroom. Small balcony on the 1st floor which would have been nicer if bigger but great sunset views facing west.
Free wifi by the pool and in the bar and friendly staff. Pool was quite cold (well it was beginning of May) but clean and not very busy that time of year.
Cost for late checkout was quite pricey but very convenient.

Great place at a great price!

My mom and I spent 12 nights at Ourania during our recent (and first-ever) trip to Crete. It was wonderful. The staff were helpful and friendly, our room was clean and the property looked great. It was close to the bus stop to Heraklion and Chersonissos, and the beach, without being in the center of all the noise. If you like slower-paced, relaxing hotels, this one's for you.

Excellent out of season base for exploring

Well run and designed apartment hotel, near to supermarkets and restaurants (no evening meals at the hotel itself). Set back off the beach and close to the main highway with bus stop, a good place to use as a touring base. 20 mins from the airport - planes do come in overhead but they are landing, so not too noisy. A reasonable library of paperbacks (mainly English, some German).

I was there in May and there was plenty of space and peace, not sure how noisy it would be in high season. See their website for information, which was accurate. They will email driving directions if you need them.

Lovely apartments, well looked after and designed like a small village. Peaceful location but with numerous taverners and a couple of supermarkets within a 10 minute walk. Pool area very nice with lots of sunbeds, although not enough if everyone wanted one but as most people go sight seeing, that's not really a problem. Linen and towels changed a couple of times a week but zero cleaning done within the apartment so you have to clean up after yourself! A really lovely place to stay if seek peace and quiet.

Ottima struttura, situata a poca distanza dalla capitale Heraklion, perfetta sé si vuole qualcosa di comodo all’aeroporto. A pochi passi dal mare, in posizione tranquilla, consente di spostarsi per Creta da una posizione geografica centrale, grazie anche alla vicinanza alla superstrada.
I mini appartamenti sono molto belli ed il contesto della struttura è veramente bello, curato immerso tra gli ulivi. Sicuramente consigliato anche per famiglie

Kleine, gepflegte Anlage, macht einen guten, ordentlichen Eindruck.
Das Badezimmer hätte eine Renovierung nötig. In der Küche hätten wir uns über eine Kanne gefreut (das ist offenbar in Griechenland kein Standard).
Achtung: Klimaanlage kostet extra (6€ am Tag)
Personal war sehr freundlich.

Séjour de deux semaines en Crète, dont une passée à Kato Gouves à Ourania Apts. Après un soucis rencontré à l’arrivee, nous avons été logés pour une nuit dans un autre hôtel. Malgré ce petit désagrément, le responsable nous a gentillement relogé pour la suite de notre séjour dans un appartement neuf. Très aimable et souriant, le manager a tjr été à l’écoute. De manière générale, tout s’est très bien passé. Emplacement idéal pour visiter une partie de l’ile et proche de la mer.

Mooi opgezet complex. Veel groen, mooie bouwstijl, straalt rust uit. Zowel aan voor als achterkant een zitje, waardoor je altijd kunt kiezen voor zon of schaduw. Appartement is vrij basic. Goed schoon. Goede service en vriendelijk personeel. Eerste dagen heel slecht geslapen door de hardheid vd bedden. Met opdekmatras werd dit beter. Het complex ligt wel wat afgelegen. Directe omgeving vh complex komt wat verwaarloosd over. Complex ligt ook direct onder landingsroute wat wel geluidsoverlast geeft. Ook het geblaf van honden (op afstand) gaat de hele nacht door.

C'est vrai, c'est pas cher! Mais il faut savoir qu'à 15 kms à droite de l'aéroport, vous aurez un avion au dessus de vos têtes toutes les minutes...Peut-être n'étions pas dans le meilleur appartement, il était impossible de rester sur le balconnet puisque nous avions la fenêtre de la salle de bain et...toilettes de nos voisins juste à côté et un autre balconnet à 2 mètres. La promiscuité nous a beaucoup dérangé.
Sinon, le personnel est très sympathique.

malgré un temps maussade, tout s'est bien passé, établissement à 1/2h de AG Nokolaos.
conseil ne concernant pas l’hôtel, j'ai loué une voiture chez europcar, le loueur m'a dit que beaucoup de gens se faisait rayer la voiture avec des clefs, vandalisme.. j'ai pris une assurance qui a doublé le prix de loc de la voiture, je n'ai pas vu de voiture rayées

Hotel au calme confort standard

L'Hotel se situe entre la grande route et la plage, à 500m de la route (arrêt de bus depuis Héraklion) et 300 m de la plage.
Il se compose de plusieurs petits bâtiments blancs, avec une piscine, un coin enfants avec toboggans, etc, et des jardins.
En fait, notre chambre était plutôt un petit appartement composé d'un coin cuisine, une salle de séjour, une chambre séparée et une salle de douche-WC. avec en plus une petite terrasse équipée d'une table de jardin et 2 chaises.
confort simple mais très propre. les serviettes sont changées plusieurs fois par semaines, les draps 1 fois dans la semaine.
Personnel très accueillant, disponible et sympathique.
C'est une adresse à retenir si on loue une voiture en Crête, c'est plus pratique.

Joli petit endroit un peu excentré, don tranquille, a 5 min de la plage à pied.
L'accueil très chaleureux , piscine éclairée la nuit.Consos au bar un peu cher ( comme dans un bar français non touristique) Appartement cosy, typique ( on dirait des blocs de fêta )
Pour le départ une petite bouteille de vin "Ourania" offerte par le gérant ! Sympa non ?
Nous recommandons largement cet hôtel

L'accueil était parfait, et le personnel à disposition pour tt renseignements.
l'appartement propre et fonctionnel situé à 5 minutes d'un bon restaurant (mylos). Un très bon séjour passé à l'ourania je vous le recommande.

Schöne dezente Anlage, toller Pool, alles sehr sauber und freundlich und eigentlich ruhig. Einziger Nachteil: liegt in Einflugschneise. Wer lärmempfindlich ist, hat ein Problem. Wir würden es aber auch mit kleinen Kindern wieder machen.

Grazioso Hotel/Apartments a 300m dal mare

Siamo stati una settimana ospiti, eravamo 8 adulti ed un bambino di 2 anni e mezzo, ci siamo trovati bene sin da subito con il personale che ci ha accolto quasi a mezza notte dato che nn sapevamo l'indirizzo esatto (colpa nostra), il personale ci ha assegnato gli alloggi di circa 35mq con un piccolo soggiorno con lato cucina, una camera da letto e bagno con doccia.
La mattina abbiamo potuto apprezzare la vera bellezza di questo posto molto tranquillo che ha dei piccoli prati con dei ulivi (il tutto molto curato) e una piscina per i pigri che non si vogliono allontanare verso le spiagge.
Subito sopra la piscina vi è la parte del bar che prepara per chi vuole anche la colazione ad una cifra modica, con libero accesso al wi-fi a tutte le ore di giorno e della notte.

Nous y avons passé une seule nuit; arrivés tard à Heraklion et en partance le lendemain pour Chania notre choix s'est porté sur cette résidence de tourisme qui propose des appartements propres avec le juste confort nécessaire et pour un excellent rapport qualité-prix. Difficile à localiser en pleine nuit; le GPS nous a été bien utile.
